I think it depends what did you flash using FlashTool. If it was official firmware, there should not be any problems.

Installing incorrect ROM version caused this problem, for example installing Mini Pro(SK17) when you actually have Mini(ST15).

"fm" stands there for firmware. To download stock firmware, check the links in signature, I have uploaded some of them there.

If you unlocked the official way, then use the Relock_bootloader.ftf file and flash it via Flashtool.
If you didn't use S1Tool, then don't use it now either.

Hi, I rooted my XPS and I was wondering if I could just upgrade the way its suposed to upgrade, trough sony siteor whatever, and still keep the root and doomkernel

You need to relock the bootloader in order to use the official way to upgrade.

In my case, doing that gives me a failure OTA update thats why I'm forced to reflash .42
Doing OTA directly over .62 gave me a failure too. Here's what I did- flashed stock .42, root (and updated the SU app and binary and ticked 'OTA Survival', updated to .84 via OTA.. Success. Feels li'l bit snappier and ya battery stays up good. But maybe it's jst a placebo cuz GB has always hav been snappy n fast on my mini.

I meant to say, after flashing the .42 ftf and then rooting, I updated the 'Superuser' app from Play Store, because the version that is pushed through is old..and dsn't show the 'OTA Survival' checkbox.
But I think that is not necessary. You can just flash the .42, then root and then do OTA and update to .84.

Ok, got it. I didn't know that the Superuser app could be updated from the Play Store. I currently have a version of the app that has the "ota survival" checkbox.

So you did a direct OTA update from .42 to .84? Without passing through the .58 fw?

If you are on .58 I would download the scripts from "how to root .431" (local-prop and push-root-files). On .58 root, run local-prop, do the update over the air, on .84 run push-root-files. Should work

You can easily root it by flashing Jackie's 681 kernel. I just did it myself and it works great.
From me. Sorry.
Hello. I have installed this firmware but the front camera in C6833 still don't work. Can anybady help? I have installed a clean instalation with full wipe with root and recovery.

Yes, but for 'now' (at the time the post was written) it's the best we had for root. In jackie099's thread there is an updated 757 version by ChillyChan

Yes you can, you could even flash it while standing on you head. Whether either will have beneficial effects is an different question completely.
To answer the new question: it will most probably work with out issue (I would guess that it's more likely to work if you are standing on your head)
Is the link down? Copy opens up, but no files for downloading
