[Q]Verizon case for extended battery. Any good? - HTC Rezound

Does anybody have this case?
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=accessoryDetails&accessoryId=49902
What are the volume and power buttons like? Are they just cut outs or do they have their own buttons to make pushing easier?

it's saying "page not available" when i click the link, so...
if it's that shell/holster combo for $29, that thing is crap. it's a pain in the ass to get it in & out of the holster + it makes the speaker sound terrible. on top of that, there's a kick stand but good luck pulling out the stand... i had to use a knife. returned that crap the next day after sleeping on it.
the only other option at the time was this high gloss silicone case. it is ok... no problem with the volume buttons although, unless you have decent finger nails(or small fingers) it can be a bit of a pain pressing the power button. still, i would much rather have this then deal with the one above.

Sprint cheap feel?

Hi, I have a HTC Pro for sprint, I love everything about it except the battery cover and volume buttons.
The cover creaks, and makes a ton of sound if I try to use the keyboard, one corner is loose, and I believe thats where the sound comes from.
Also the volume keys are hard to use and they sound more like creaking plastic, I cant even tell when it is actually clicking.
Anyone else have this problem? Mine has been like this since day 1.
Any fixes?
I was about to say "Perhaps you have a defective machine, as I also have a Touch Pro from Sprint and have not really noticed this problem" and then I picked it up... top corner as in the back cover right behind about where "Sprint" is printed on the front? Mine actually makes creaky noises there, too... with a bit of push.
I honestly don't notice the noises when I am typing with it, simply because I'm used to keyboards clicking, and noises around me, but I do see what you're saying. I have no fixes to offer, since it seems to be manufacturing rather than a joint or something that could do well with a little dab of WD-40 or something. If the noise takes over my mind, though, you are totally to blame.
Just got mine today. It's very pretty. My first note after only a few hours of usage is the top panel/screen slides a bit to easy, the mogul was a bit more tight...
With some well placed paper, I took small pieces and folded it once, on the corners you can make the cover fit better. This has silenced the creak people are talking about.
Considering the backis a peice of plastic that flexes to lock in and come off,
I don't mind the creaking. I'd prefer this than over a heavy piece of steel
with screws holding it in. The phone is heavy enough as it is.
Sure the quality control isnt' fantastic. The buttons on the face are a little raised up.. but not enough for me to be picky about it. The phones nice, I like it, and i'm happy it's pretty darn good.
Mine creeks too...and the power/volume hard keys dont give good feedback and have minimal travel. I feel as though the power button will break soon, especially since it's used so much to wake the phone. The overal construction is much more beautiful than the mogul, but aside from the keyboard buttons, the construction feels more flimsy, and the slider not as smooth as the mogul.
The touch screen seems to be less sensitive too.
Oh well...it's only a very expensive phone...
My cover creeked pretty bad. I cut a business card to fit and put it under the cover. Problem solved.
i fixed this by putting blue painters tape in layers and cutting to the right size and adding one layer at a time and then putting the cover back on then checking the noise. i reapeated this till it no longer creaked. this is not my fix but posted by someone at ppcgeeks and i think i was linked from there too. but the painters tape has a smooth surface on the non sticky side and it helps the battery cover slip on easily and is easily removed if you need to. hope this helps. oh yea the area around the micro sd slot is the main creaking area on mine and i have heard others say the same. it took 3-4 layers there.

I used some thin strip electrical tape 2 layers on the right side next to the camera. "QUITE NOW"
I think its individual defectiveness. My phone creaks only if I put my ear 1 inch away from it when i press the Sprint logo, extremely unnoticeable. It feels much more solid than my last phone, HTC(PPC)6700, the side buttons are all solid and secure and respond well. No tape needed. If this happened to my phone I'd take it back and demand a new one as it retails for 550USD and that sort of defectiveness is unnacceptable. Although my 6700 retailed for 600USD and was much cheaper.
Mine also has a little creek. There isn't much i dislike about this phone besides the lack of working FM at the moment, and most importantly, the performance of 3d applications/games,videos etc.
I'll try the tape thing tonight.
Wow I don't know why I didn't think about putting something behind the cover. I was complaining that mine feels cheap, but I just threw a few post its back there and now it's nice a firm! thanks!
I ordered my first touch pro over the phone, and it felt SO cheap with all of the "symptoms" of what everyone has been saying, but for a different reason I had to exchange it, and the one they gave me at the store feels SO much sturdier.. I am glad I exchanged..

BoxWave Colorsplash case review

First off, quick description of the case. It's a TPU (I think!) and hard case hybrid. Surrounding the phone is the TPU portion, which is sort of a sort of hard rubber which snaps over the phone securely, and the back is a hard plastic. I picked Black, so the TPU portion is black, the back hard plastic portion is clear.
I purchased the Boxwave to replace the Speck case I got at AT&T when I got my Note, and while the Speck case fit well and all of the buttons and holes lined up great, I didn't like how slick it is and how quickly was looking really scuffed up, plus it's IMPOSSIBLE to remove from the phone. So I decided to replace it and this BoxWave case like what I was wanting to have.
Now, back to the BoxWave case. The BoxWaves two microphone holes barely line up, the hole for both mics is large enough, but the microphone itself is right at the very edge of the hole. If the case slipped in the other direction I'm afraid it'd obscure the microphone. The top one as-is right now is obscured a little bit, the bottom isn't but not by much. The other annoyance is that the power button doesn't appear to be aligned correctly with the phone, as it's kind of mushy and hard to push, like it's hitting it from the side. The volume buttons seem okay, and the case is on right, even took it off and put it back on to make sure it was on right, it didn't improve.
I've also noticed that plugging in the charger is mushy, and turns out the case obscures the microUSB a bit too. Not enough to make it difficult to plug in, unplug on its own, or even need any "adjustment" to plug it in, but it's definitely in the way a bit.
The kickstand is pretty flimsy as well, time will tell how long it will last, as it's just two little nubs on the stand pushing against receptacles on the case, I can see if the phone got pushed against the stand it'd pop right out, but I mostly worry that it'll open etc while it's in my pocket. And the hinge sticks out of the back of the case, my wife has a SGS2 with a similar case by someone else and the back is flat on her phone.
It's much easier to get on/off the phone, and I like that the sides are textured. But otherwise not that great a case.
Pros
Really nice textured grip on side
Fits phone securely but not overly difficult to get in/out
Cons
Power button alignment is BAD, difficult to turn on
Both microphone holes aren't aligned well, mic hole is well to the edge of the case hole
Stand looks very flimsy
MicroUSB hole alignment is bad
Recommendation: Pass on this one, unless the alignment on the buttons and holes improves.
I bought this case for myself and my wife neither I if us has experienced any if the problems you mentioned with the holes being out of alignment. The kick had never opened in my pocket, and supports the phone well. The only complaint I have is the hinge sticking out of the back of the case, but that is a trade off for the super slim form factor. All in all, a terrific case for the price.

How about the power button, do you have to mash it a bit to make it work with the case on? My volume buttons are fine, they have a distinct firm press, just like without a case, and just like my Speck case did, but the Power button feels like it's hitting from an angle or something, mushy, annoying. I basically have to pinch the phone across the sides to turn it on one-handed, which always wind up changing the volume at the same time. Without a case, or with the Spec, I could just push the button in.
And the hinge sticking out annoys me more and more.. Can't really use the phone laying on the desk, it wobbles around.
Lots of pictures of it here, on BoxWave's website http://www.boxwave.com/at-t-samsung-galaxy-note-samsung-sgh-i717-cases-and-covers/colorsplash-at-t-samsung-galaxy-note-samsung-sgh-i717-case-with-stand/bwpdd/pkv-zvgp/
If wanted, I can take pictures of the microphone holes.. Not much to see, looks kind of like (. ) where the . is the microphone hole.
The power button is just fine. I think you may have received a defective case.

BTW, is there a way to just post pics, without a link in this forum? I couldn't find it. I know that's probably a real noob Question, but I have only recently started posting on a regular basis here, and that was my first attempt to post a pic.

I use photo Bucket personally and you can link the pictures super easy that way.
I got a response from BoxWave yesterday, their response is:
The ColorSplash Case with Stand was designed to have indents for the power button and other features. This will require a stronger press in order to use these keys. We do this to protect the buttons and so they will not be easily pressed when traveling.

So sounds like it was designed this way. Maybe my case is out of some sort of tolerances but my power button requires a hard mash to operate in this case, so I'm working with them to return it and I'll be on the prowl again for another case... Don't think I'll bother with one with a kickstand, I haven't once used it, but the grippy sides of this case are very nice compared to my Speck, so I'll be looking for that.
My Boxwave (not the colorsplash, but another one from them) was the same way with the hard keys. I switched to a Hyperion case which has softer sides and lets you press the buttons easier. BUT - the opening for the micro USB is too small to let the OEM Samsung usb charger plug all the way in. I am going to have to widen it a little.

Thanks for that, because I was wondering about a different Boxwave, but it was going to be pretty low on the list..
They finally gave me an RMA, and made it clear that if I don't have the clear plastic baggy the case came in, that I'd pay a 15% restocking fee... Oh it just gets better and better..... I'll never buy another BoxWave product again.
I got a few alternative cases to try out, I'll have full reviews on 'em soon, but this $3 case feels, fits, and works MUCH better than the damn BoxWave.

i just got this one for my note[white on white].. holes line up great.. kick stand feels alright, ill use it lightly or on my night stand/on my lap. ill be careful with it
fits pretty snug, kinda hard to get in..
all my buttons press in fine for me.
i also ordered the reg. one with no kick stand.. ill have to mess with that one again because one i first tried it on it seemed wayyyy off
the regular case with no kick stand fits good also.. have no problems with it.. the power button is a little mushy but ill get over it. its not that bad. i got the red case looks sexy on a white note.
update
i dropped my phone face down yesterday on concrete [my driveway]
i was pretty scared to pick it up, but when i did not a scratch or crack.. nothing
this case saved me right there, when it fell the edges of the case protected my screen from smashing on the ground
this case was well worth the 13 dollars.

Hyperion extended battery case

I have a question about the hyperion case for its extended battery. I know that with some work you can get it to work with the mugen 5400 battery and door cover. My biggest issue with it is pressing the power button and the volume buttons. I was wondering if anybody had take an exacto knife and cut out those points on the case. If so, how did it work.
Yes, I did that. It's easier to press afterward, but it's still easier to just use the proximity screen off app to turn the phone on & off with this case on.
I cut mine out too.. even the volume rocker.. I got it a little choppy, but I perfer it this way rather than covered as before.
good luck.

ZTE Blade case power button

Basically, my back cover is fine, but the case power button too much sag in it now and is constantly pressing the actual button down, if I have to I will buy the complete housing from Deal Extreme to get that little part but that seems a bit excessive.
It's that tiny silver case button. Is there anywhere it can be bought seperately or replaced, or repaired?
the button is built into the back cover so you're gonna have to buy the backcover
yeah, the power buttons are known to be rubbish on blades.

Anyone able to take screenshot with their nexus carbon case on the phone the one on t

I bought the carbon color nexus 6P case but not able to take screenshot shot with the case on the phone, i have no problem with my spigen case what soever.
You can do it but you need to hit the very very bottom of the volume rocker. The reason is that the case is tight and they seemed to use a rocker rather than two buttons for the volume. So it's easy to hit the bottom button and activate the top as the plastic on the side stretches down. It's tricky but doable.
i try it i got it once, its a hit or miss wish it wasn't so difficult
Yea, I was having issues too - but holding the far ends of both buttons let me get it pretty repeatedly.
