Anyone able to take screenshot with their nexus carbon case on the phone the one on t - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought the carbon color nexus 6P case but not able to take screenshot shot with the case on the phone, i have no problem with my spigen case what soever.

You can do it but you need to hit the very very bottom of the volume rocker. The reason is that the case is tight and they seemed to use a rocker rather than two buttons for the volume. So it's easy to hit the bottom button and activate the top as the plastic on the side stretches down. It's tricky but doable.

i try it i got it once, its a hit or miss wish it wasn't so difficult

Yea, I was having issues too - but holding the far ends of both buttons let me get it pretty repeatedly.

Buttons Stopped Working

So my buttons seemed to of stopped working some how. I went to put my skinomi protector on and afterwards took it off cause I hated the feel and realized the buttons weren't working. I rebooted into recovery and.... a no go. I'm wondering if the liquid got in to the little slit by the buttons or some thing but I'm really upset. I just applied my carbon fiber skin and got my clip case in and now this. Any suggestions on what to do? I bought this off eBay new any chance warranty can cover?
Ok buttons are slowly starting to work. First it wasn't working, stuck tab in bucket of rice, buttons started working but I had to press hard, now top 3 buttons work and the back button thinks its the home button.
I hope you get the buttons working again, but if not and you are rooted try Button Savior https://market.android.com/details?id=com.smart.swkey
I am using it because I have trouble finding the buttons in the dark and really liking it. They are also easier to reach.
Wow. How much liquid did you use? I assume the rice is to absorb moisture? At work we put wet things in a bell jar and pump the air out. At low pressure the water boils off at room temperature. I assume that's safe for an LCD, but not sure. I would think a local school might have enough vacuum gear to do this and its a good demo to students about the temperature/pressure relationship.

Just pulled it out the bucket and all is well. I'm running CM 7 so I have the buttons on status bar. I guess this is just a warning to be careful when applying a Skinomi Protector

Common weak point in i777 frame

I had another i777 that I returned, so I could get it cheaper on Black Friday and both of them had this same problem.
I don't even know if I would call it a problem actually, more of a possible design flaw. Under the volume rocker, almost exactly half way down the phone, it feels like the back plate that meets the bezel is a bit loose. If pressed at this point, often times just normal holding, I can sometimes hear a creak, snap, pop, whatever you want to call it. I discovered that once this happens, if I press on the battery cover on that side right next to the previously mentioned point, it will then make a creaking sound. This can repeat indefinitely if alternating presses are used. I tried both tightening down and loosening up the 7 screws holding the back plate on, but it did not change anything. It seems to me that this is just a point on the frame that is either holding more load or just doesn't have anything holding it in place, thus you get some slight movement.
Has anyone else noticed this?
I have noticed that when I press on any flimsy plastic things such as phones they exhibit "creaky" sounds like you describe. Think about it, where you're pressing is barely a few millimeters thin. My suggestion brotha, is to get a case or bumper or whatever sort of protection you desire if you're that concerned about it.
Yep. My phone is in a strong case. It could be made of paper and I wouldn't notice.
Mine doesn't make a sound

Although its no excuse for a flimsy design, but I think nowadays the manufacturers assume that you will have a protective case on it. And you should have one. If not, u will be one of those jokers that post up on here ...poor me...my phone broke cuz I dropped it and I didn't have a case on it. I have no pity for cheapness and ignorance

What are the volume and power buttons like? Are they just cut outs or do they have their own buttons to make pushing easier?
it's saying "page not available" when i click the link, so...
if it's that shell/holster combo for $29, that thing is crap. it's a pain in the ass to get it in & out of the holster + it makes the speaker sound terrible. on top of that, there's a kick stand but good luck pulling out the stand... i had to use a knife. returned that crap the next day after sleeping on it.
the only other option at the time was this high gloss silicone case. it is ok... no problem with the volume buttons although, unless you have decent finger nails(or small fingers) it can be a bit of a pain pressing the power button. still, i would much rather have this then deal with the one above.

ZTE Blade case power button

Basically, my back cover is fine, but the case power button too much sag in it now and is constantly pressing the actual button down, if I have to I will buy the complete housing from Deal Extreme to get that little part but that seems a bit excessive.
It's that tiny silver case button. Is there anywhere it can be bought seperately or replaced, or repaired?
the button is built into the back cover so you're gonna have to buy the backcover
yeah, the power buttons are known to be rubbish on blades.

[Q] Where does this piece go? Reassembly help

I took apart my Incredible 4G to replace the screen and this small rubber piece fell out. I looked the phone up and down and watched carefully at all the guides, but still can't figure out where it goes. Does anyone here know?

This is a rubber piece correct?
It looks like the housing around the light source for the capacitive buttons, either "Back" or "Recent App" button. You will have to lift the board up at the bottom of your phone to see them. This piece holds the clear plastic that directs light to those buttons.
Good Luck getting it back together again.

Yes it's a rubber piece with small step-like grooves like a staircase. I looked again where you were talking about, the light guides, and there already seems to be two rubber pieces around the Back and Recent Apps buttons so I don't think that's quite it. Should there be a piece around the Home button? Because it doesn't seem to fit there.
Any other suggestions? I'm sure it will work fine without it, but it's really annoying that this piece seemingly popped out of nowhere.
Okay, nvm that was the right piece for the light guides. I actually have two of these phones sitting around with broken screen while I wait for the replacement parts to come. I thought that the piece had fallen out of the second phone I was working on, but I checked the first one again and turns out it was missing that piece. How it ended up falling out when I was taking apart the second, I have no idea lol. Guess I need a bigger workspace.
Thanks DaveDoc!
No problem
