I have some problems with the tablet mentioned in the post subject. First of all I rooted it today using gingerbreak. It worked. But still using market unlocker it does not change the original market code. The second problem is that when I installed yahoo messenger and the video plugin ... making a video call or a voice call is not working. Using the same version of andoid 2.3.3 and yahoo messenger with video and voice plugin as above (1.6.0)on a LG Optimus one not rooted it works perfectly. Can anyone help me to make it work... or install a custom rom that will make at least the video calling and voice work on yahoo messenger.
P.S. I must specify that using Skype with video calling it works, but only audio. On yahoo doesn't work either of them voice or video.
Anyone please! At least can you provide me with a custom rom and the stepts to install it .. Because now I saw that even I managed to install Adobe flash player 11.1 it seems that it is not working. And I guess that many of the applications are not working because of this fact.
Hey could you pleas post how did u root this device im trying to root it for 2 days now whit no luck tryed GingerBreak but its just runing for over 30minutes and nothing happens

Sorry for the delay.
Here is the Skype application file for Tattoo (.apk) file.
I tested it and it's working using SPQRom Froyo 2.2.1 through 3G and WiFi Connection.
When you first start the application and login it might show "Force Close" because Skype is not responding. Just click "Wait" until Skype download all your contacts.
After that use it as normal.

I don't know why but I cannot find 1.0.1 anywhere. I was looking last night but I could not find it. I tried from skype.com/m but again the skype version downloaded was this one..

Downloaded it from the market. works good, takes some time at first to load contacts - if you have a lot, better check to show only online users.
Lacks settings. It would be great to be able to disable loading chat history. Good to have just in case.

Of course nobody can find it. According the fixes I think they forgot to change .apk file version. Because I had Skype for 1 month now and this version has all this fixes.

Thank you. I really want to avoid Fring but I guess it's better than nothing at all.

I just moved the Video add on over from my Incredible as well as yahoo messenger and tested it out. No go for me. I was able to get video calling working, but the cam on the tablet would not output to the other person. Also the cam feed to the tablet was about 2fps and very laggy. Back to the drawing board. I have no use for fring since I'm trying to go from PC to Tab. Let me know if anyone else gets any where with it.
Sorry I just got my 101 yesterday and did not do enough research. Updated to new firmware .71 and messenger works!

Yahoo! Messenger video did not work for me
Those files wouldn't connect for me but after much much searching I found an updated Video plugin but I need the Yahoo! Messenger v1.3.1.apk which seems to be the latest version but that file is a ghost (for me) and as always its not in the Marketplace (also for me)(yes I did the "marketplace fix" and yes I reinitialized) so how's about someone post a new messenger apk if not for me then for all like me
Good news guys. I was able to have the latest version of Tango Video Chat installed and it worked well in my limited testing!!
I imported the backed up .apk from my phone and install was smooth. When it asked for a phone number I used the same number that I use for my cell. Got the verification text with no issues.
I had to restart the application a few times for it to pick up my Tango contacts and once it did, I placed a video call to my fiances iphone and it worked like a charm!
There was a slight delay in audio (to be expected) and video quality was a good as our camera would let it be. Playing with the night settings in the built in camera app helps tremendously.
I'm really happy with how things are progressing on my A70.

can you post what version Tango you used or even better yet post the apk file.
I got the version from Market and it installed fine. Even got the contact of my friends samsung epic (which also has tango installed). Was able to initiate call and it rang on her phone but then archos 70 froze.
That's weird, I downloaded tango from the market and installed and ran normally. I'm using an archos 70. It needed a phone number, so I just put my cell number and I ran a test run with my friend and we video chatted, although we were right next to each other.
It was a bit choppy but usable.
Market version works for me also (A70).

Does anyone else have problems with the latest version of Skype? On my X10 mini, the call recipient can't hear me when I talk to them. I've tried on 3G and WiFi, same result. It worked fine before I updated to the latest version... (And normal calls works fine, so the mic is OK)
It's an unmodded X10 mini with stock SE Android 2.2
you need to update your MIC driver to work with new skype ( it's impossible with sonyericsson ROM ). so install custom rom .
i'm having the latest version om my x10 mini with this custom ROM and every thing work great .

UNBELIEVABLE FAILURE even by gsm call the recipients couldn't hear me after uninstalling the latest Skype version everything is working fine!!! Will never ever use it again...using Viber now

I uninstalled Skype just last night after finding out that it is the number one reason why my phone was crawling along slower than a handicapped snail.
I think that Viber works better as it's designed as a mobile app and not a scaled-down desktop app like Skype.

Vegan Ginger had that until some of the newer market updates broke them. Who knows if either the ROM has updated with a fix, or there have been more market fixes which changed things.
I decided the camera wasn't important to me (I find the g-tab camera to be worthless anyhow unless you sykpe or other video chat).
I switched ROMs because a working market was more important than my camera (but I agree Flash is a priority as well!)

Vegan Ginger Edition (the newest one) works for me flash apps and browser, camera (not video capture but pictures) {there is no working video chat apps for our tab anyway..yet} I have not tried netflix but am pretty sure it works. and I have had no problems at all with the market however I found a newer market that my tab seems to really like (no market fixes required just a cwr zip.)

I've been using the Vegan Ginger Edition, the newest one and it all works. Netflix, Flash, Camera, etc. My only issue is the audio is not as loud as it is on Flashback or GtabComb. But I pair it to a little bluetooth speaker I picked up and it's great for wacthing Netflix with.

Everything works, no messing around to get stuff working. Plus it is so fast that you need to fasten your seat belt before booting into it or you may get blown out of your chair.
You will need to first flash to a 1.2 bootloader if you are not already there.
No kidding, try it yourself and see.

It fixed the Volume softness issue ..We now have robust volume and features to tweek as needed..

In UK. Got the update on PCC, and installed it. But in the process, the tablet has taken owner account as my secondary email account (instead of the gmail account that was used before). I can't find a way to change it. Apart from a reinstall, anyone knows a way to correct it ? I tried deleting the email account from the tablet, and also tried adding the gmail account to the user data. It does not allow me to change the owner email. For some reason, it has taken the email account that I was using for Sony Entertainment Network and made it owner account. In the settings there is the option of Tablet setup guide option, that also does not allow me to change owner email..
The tablet is not Rooted and would like to keep it that way. Thanks

this happens sometimes, especially if you have root and recovery installed. Use pc-companion to update firmware.
Have to say after a few days of use with 5.1.1 my Stock (Non rooted)Tablet Z has never performed better...
Web pages load quickly , programs run perfectly, no noticeable lag, Bluetooth connections are quick and trouble free on all my devices..
Video playback from Vudu, Google play, Netflix are excellent..
