since a couple of days it happens often to me that my screen won't turn off in standby, sometimes even when the screen is locked, though i´ve already disabled led notification both in the cyano options and in the single apps, like skype. It happens more often when the phone is plugged to the recharger. Has anyone else experienced this problem? any suggestion? ty in advance

I'm having a problem with my sgs2 that I'm unable to solve.
The problem is that sometimes, not always, my phone does not enter sleep by itself. Infact it doesn't lock itself either.
Also, again sometimes, if I have a missed call alert or text the display lights up but then stays lit sat at the lock screen.
I've done some testing. I have tried different roms and tried the stock Samsung tom without modifying any settings and the problem remains.
If the phone is in my pocket then it can be a while before I notice. Today this happened for about an hour before I checked my phone. The phone was hot and the battery level had significantly dropped.
I've also noticed that with sound and vibrate switched off, sometimes when receiving a call the phone vibrates for 1/10 of a second. Everytime this has occurred the screen has stayed on after lighting up for the call.
I have wiped the user area on my phone but note this did not delete my music and pictures. Is this correct?
Any ideas? I'm really stumped and it's ruining the phone for me.

To see what apps/processes are causing the device to wakeup from deep sleep download and install Better Battery Stats and see under Partial Wakelocks.

I have problem with BLN on the SGS2, VillainRom 3.0 Siyah2.2.
When a notification comes in, the BLN comes on which is to be expected.
However, if i screen on, displaying the lockscreen, and screen off, the BLN turns off, even though i have not checked the notification.
Time out is disabled on BLN.
Anyone experiencing this, or know how i can solve the problem?
That is normal and expected behaviour.
Once the screen turns on, the blinblin turns off.
That's also the reason why the screen must stay off for BLN to work for like SMS and the such.

one of my buddies, has his BLN left on even after the screen power on and off... i guess his is the abnormality then.
the funny thing is he doesn't know how he did it either. if not, i'd like to reproduce it for my phone too...

Found a way to solve the problem. The MMS patch on check rom will allow the BLN to stay on even after the screen on and off.
Hi there guys. I have around 40 apps installed on my SGS2 and I am not sure whats causing this. My phone lights up, with the screen locked and it is extremely annoying. Do you have any idea what app can cause this? It just lights up for 1-2 seconds , every now and then. It is very random.

My Folio with CM9 alpha 5 have a strange problem.
Sometimes (it seems to be random) the screen stays awake after turning off the device. The red LED also stays on. It seems like it doesn't want to turn off. Then I have to hold the power button for 10 sec to hard-turn-off it.
Also I got the screen flickering problem after waking up the device. I wonder if there's something common in the problems.
Anyone knows a solution?
In general the CM9 a5 is a nearly PERFECT rom. I mean it's like not a Folio. Almost every problems gone. I used foliomod 1.4 before and there were so much SOD which was a horror. Sometimes my images and videos from the SD card were deleted randomly.
All I miss about the CM9 a5 is the bluetooth. I hope they'll fix it soon or release an alpha 6.

I have foliomod installed and when I lock it, randomly turns on too, each 10 minutes or so... the only way to fix it is to turn it off, but it's annoying because I use it as an ebook sometimes. I was going to try CM but if you have the same problem...

Hello ppl today i noticed that my atrix screen is turned on for couple of seconds then off by it self well first i thoughts it maybe a notificatione so i cleared them but after a while i saw it keep doing it over and over wake up the screen for couple of seconds then turn it off .. over and over please idea what is going on and how to fix that ?? thanks in advance
Some application/game works in background and wakes up display?
Use better battery stats. It will help you find the app that is causing the issue.
