[Q] contacts & calendar from nokia - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wish you all a good time of day. I can not transfer contacts and calendar from nokia in sgs2. I read almost all the forums, good advice not found ... Have experience in such matters? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You can try to save the contacts and calendar entries from the Nokia phone to PC in .csv format. Then import the entries into Google Calendar - and then just sync SG S2 with your google account.
To save in .csv format use nokia PC Suite

Already. . . Gmail takes the data and not share them on the field-name, last name and just characters and flourishes groups all data in one field (

[Q] Copying contacts between accounts from the android device

Hi,
Before you continue reading, this is not a question about moving contacts from one android device to another, or from an iPhone to an android (or viceversa)!!
This is my scenario: I've got my android tablet (the asus transformer) and I have 3 accounts set up there, 2 are gmail accounts (say, account A and account B) and a third corporate account (exchange activesync, call it account C)
I used account B when I was in my last job and have a lot of business contacts there. What I want to do is to have a simple way of copying some of these business contacts over to the exchange account (account C). I also would like to copy a couple from account A (personal stuff) into account C.
Any ideas? Thanks
Have you tried to export the contacts you want from the web interface of gmail?
You can select the contacts you want and export them in CSV for outlook or in vcard. I'm not familiar with Exchange but it must have some import function in a desktop client or web interface, at least of vcard.

You know, that is exactly what I don't want to end up doing because it's a waste of time.
Fortunately I found an app in the market named Contacts Copy which did exactly what I wanted to do! The interface is a bit clunky but it does the job.
Sorry for reanimation of an old thread!
But I'm facing the same problem! Is there any progress?
I was hoping, newer android versions would implement such a (simple?) function - moving a contact from one account to another doesn't seem to be so sophisticated if one has a whole synchronisation framework at hand!
Is there any contact manager out there, providing such functionality?
Thanks!
Same problem here...
I'm struggling with the same thing - I tried Contacts Copy but it just seemed to do import and export and you needed to enter a phone number. Not sure why it needs my phone number so I didn't really trust it. Anyway, if someone has had some luck I'd appreciate the help.
Just to reiterate the issue, I have an Exchange work account (a) and a gmail account (b) on my phone. I can access my works contacts database from my phone and save contacts, but they're linked to the Exchange account. I want to be able to get them from (a) to (b) simply on my phone, rather than needing to export a CSV from Outlook and upload to Gmail.

It does it !!
Only one thing is missing - search.
Also it joins original contact to copy in another account and can update existing.
Was sending contacts to myself by SMS/e-mail before.

[Q] Migrating from Symbian to Android OS (Contacts, Messages, Notes, Calendar)

My main concern is to move my contacts from Nokia N95 8gb (Symbian) to Galaxy Note. I do not want to do Google sync as there's lot of contacts and email ids already in my Gmail account. I don't want to mix it up. I don't have an outlook account as well. Please tell me a way out.
Is there any solution for transferring messages, calendar and notes as well? Thank you.

[Q] Contacts (lumia 800 vs Windows Live)

Hello
I have my Lumia800 for almost two weeks and there's something that scares me.
I had a Nokia N8 and have 1041 contacts in that phone. When I bought Lumia800, with “transfer”, I’ve send all of them to my new phone, and now I have all my phone contacts in Lumia. But, somehow, only 200 contacts are synchronized with my Windows Live account (the one that I use on my mobile). I’ve tried lots of things, even create a new Windows Live account but the problem persists.
I want to be sure that, if something happens to my Luma800, I have all of mine 1041 contacts somewhere.
Any idea how I can solve this problem?
Thanks in advanced
Lea
I forgot to explain that When Lumia is clean (with no contacts), no error appear when trying to synchronised hotmail account. After my contacts when put in my Lumia (using Transfer application), it appears “error code 86000108).

Do you use MSFT Outlook? You can sync your N8 contact to Outlook then use the MSFT Outlook Hotmail connector to sync w/ Windows LIVE acct and then to your phone.

I've tried that also, and the problem continues.
Sync them with Google instead, see if that works properly?

Gmail works just fine. Althought I continue to receive that error (Windows Live error 86000108), e-mail and calendar works just fine. I’ve done all the steps recommended by Microsoft Support but my 1041 contacts don’t appear. Just 200.
I even start a new hotmail account to be sure that there wasn’t any hidden e-mails or links. My Lumia was reset three times. When I start the phone with no contacts, that error doesn’t appear when I try to synchronize Windows Live account and my Lumia. Right after the contacts are transfer to the phone, that error starts to appear and only 200 of my 1041 contacts appear on my Windows Live account.
Is there a way to synchronize my contacts with my gmail account?
Are the contacts copied alphabetically?
There might be a problem with the last (or the next one) contact copied. Maybe some foreign character causing an issue?
no, the contacts are not copied alphabetically. And all the names are Portuguese (i'm portuguese)
You will essentially have to go through each contact that was copied, as it is either corrupt or contains information that Windows Live/Phone does not support. More than likely you should start with the last copied contact, if you know what that is, otherwise, you should erase all the contacts you have and start all over again.
I don't know if the transfer program is capable of transferring select contacts rather than just all, but try 10 or 20 contacts at a time. Then sync. If it syncs successfully, then do another group of 10 or 20 until you find the one that is not syncing properly. If you find the one that doesn't sync properly, then don't sync it, and do that one manually.
The transfer program doesn't allow to chose contacts

[Q] Contact Types

I need to switch all my contacts from Mobile Life to Google. I read the other threads involving this, but the solutions involved syncing the phone w/ Windows and I have a Mac. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
-Adam
Try some app.(google it).
I know it on win , but on mac........?
I downloaded an app that exports contacts to a .csv file, which I can sync to google contacts online. When I do this, will they automatically sync to my phone? I want to figure this out before doing anything.. if they do sync to my phone, I want to delete the contacts on there now so I don't end up with duplicates.
Why not just delete the duplicates from you csv file before you upload it to google?

I did! All the contacts on my phone are Mobile Life. If Google automatically imports the contacts I sync to the website, there'll be doubles of everything.. 1 Mobile Life and 1 Google.
Has anyone used the ContactExport app? I finally imported the .csv file it created to google and it didn't include any of the phone #'s or other info for any of the contacts!
If you choose "Copy Contact" for any contact you can make it a Google Contact. This will sync up to your Google account, and doesn't create duplicates.

incomplete synchronization of contacts

I have 102 contacts in my G-account, 100 originally exported from outlook via exporting *.csv file, and 2 newly added.
When I try to sync G account with phones, It synchronizes gmail and calendar without any problems. However, contacts sync only the new ones - only the newly created 2 contacts- and not all the previous ones (100).
But: when I start to write an email on my phone, gmail app will offer me email addresses from all 102 contacts!
That means: Sync basically works, but older contacts (imported) do not sync in contacts app.
Will anyone help?Does anyone know the cause?
I tried these devices:
At old ASUS (4.2) all works as it should (only this one device does not have a sync problem!)
All other devices has a problem noted above: Samsung (4.2) Vodafone Prime 6 (5.0), Samsung (6.0.).
Thanks for your help.
long shot, but do your contacts have birthdays set and/or google profiles? There's a recent bug that doesn't properly sync google contacts which surfaced yesterday somewhere.
problem solved!
NICE SHOT!
Don`t know why, but all imported contacts has field "anniversary" set at 1. January 2054.
If I delete this record, the sync works perfect!
The interesting thing is, that it doesn`t help to change the date e.g. 6.12.2017 or so . It has to be deleted!
I just tried the export new file from outlook excluding the field "anniversary", and it`s also ok.
So thank you very much, you saved the day!
