[Q] Help needed reverting back to stock w/o restore - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
Finally rooted and flashed cm7 nightlys. All was working good until I found out the bluetooth doesn't work. Now I want to go back to stock and cwm will not restore my back up? Where can I download the 2.3.4 zip to reflash my stock rom? Can somebody help me PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Back to stock now. It seems I can't go back to stock unless i recopy my backup to clockworkmod prior to the restore. Each time i do i get restore complete and get back to stock. This is for my Lg e739. I hope this helps all LG mytouch owners. I am not a developer btw, just review my username.

Revert to Stock ROM?

Hi there, I have a T-Mobile G2 Touch (HTC Hero) and I want to go back to the stock T-Mobile ROM, but I've been told that if I re-flash then it'll brick my phone?
I'm running the latest version of VillainROM 10.3.2 and I found that I may need a Nandroid backup or something? If someone could possibly re-direct me to where I need to find a Nandroid recovery image for my phone, I'd be greatful!
Can you just confirm that I CAN/CAN'T re-flash my phone to Stock?
Help is appreciated! Thanks!
EDIT: I used flashrec to make a back up of the recovery image or some sort? On my SD card is "recovery-backup.img"? Does this help?
Thanks!
I am not sure how it will brick your phone and maybe someone here can advise you on this.
The recovery-backup.img is just an image of the stock bootloader that comes with your phone. If you wish to apply official OTA updates, you will need to restore to your stock bootloader using the flashrec app even after u have reverted to the stock ROM.
Hope it helps =)

[Q] bricked.....where did i go wrong?

So i'm pretty noob with all this stuff but i finally decided to try flashing my phone and, in the end, ended up with a "bricked" (or the extent a vibrant can be bricked) phone. Thanks in advance for the advice.
what i did
I followed the flashing guide in the sticky post "** GUIDE - TIPS - TRICKS ** Last Update 12/03/10 ** READ BEFORE ASKING" and everything worked great. I downloaded Rom manager, made a nandroid backup of my stock rom, flashed it with bionix fusion and everything worked great. I didn't do the titanium backup and there was an app that i needed to use the next day so on the way to work, i decided to restore back to the stock thinking that i could go back for the day, use the apps that i needed and when i got home got home, back up my apps with titanium back up and restore again back to the bionix fusion. So i did that. I went to rom manager and I first backed up my bionix fusion rom and then tried to recover my stock rom. When the phone restarted, it didn't go past the vibrant/samsung screen.
The question...
what went wrong? based on some reading i think it has something to do with the kernel but i'm not really sure.
but the real question is, how do i avoid from this happening again? did i do the recovery wrong? what's the best way to unbrick my phone back to stock without losing any data on the phone. is it possible????
at this point, i can go into download mode. what should be my next move?
Thank you again if you can provide any insight.
*edit*
So looking at some posts, I looks like I need to flash the stock kernel. can anyone tell me how to flash just the kernel using odin? I've never used it and I can't seem to find anything on flashing just the kernel. Thank you.
Problem SOLVED!
ok. not completely solved T_T.
What i've done.
I've flashed back to stock vibrant firmware and that works fine. When i try to restore my nandroid backup, and it reboots, I get stuck back to the same place i was. I made two nandroid backups and tried them both but neither of them work. am i doing it wrong? I have even re-rooted my vibrant and downloaded rom manager again and tried it through there and still get the problem. have tried it about 4 times now with no luck.
Again, any help is appreciated.
Nandroid doesnt replace the kernal

Exactly, nandroid doesn't replace the kernel. If you want to run a nandroid restore, you have to either flash the rom the nandroid was created on, then restore (safest imho), or flash a compatible kernel for the rom from which your nandroid was created, then run your nandroid restore.

Pretty sure this was in the sticky too

[Q] Back to stock?

Is there any way to go back to stock for this phone? I used to have a G1 and it wasnt a hard task to take on. I want to try going back to stock because I want to run some test on the original build and I also want to make some video guides for the LG Optimus V.
Videos planned if I can get back to factory stock.

Then use odin to install it on your phone

i currently have custom rom installed but my wife want her phone back to stock (out of box) my problem is the efs backup is currupt so i now am lost on how to get it back to stock . can i use the efs backup from other galaxy s3 ?

If the phone is currently working you should be able to flash it back to stock without using an EFS backup - have you tried that?
Does she still want JB or is she wanting to go back to ICS? Why does she want to go back? http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ has latest stock downloads if that will suit...
