Thanks for the heads up. For some reason it wasn't showing as having an update available but going into the app showed it. I suppose I'd best get on with playing the original game to see what the expansion is like hehe

Unfortunately, you don't. If it wasn't purchased in the market, you don't get an update. At least not that I have seen.

Does anyone know when the multiplayer for this comes out? Unfortunately it'll be a "freemium" title (must. not. soapbox. grrr.), but I'm still interested in trying it out.

I think this update/addon may have fixed an issue I had with loading up level 7... it was not working for me prior to this update, and I'm now happy that it is loading up fine...
Got the update. For some reason the market was not showing me the update button last night. Thanks for the heads up. This is my second favorite game on my Prime behind Soulcraft.

Sorry, I meant going into the app on the market not going into the app itself. The market did'nt show an update available how it usually does but clicking the app for details showed the update.

Hello Keith
Unfortunately there is no other possibility than bying a THD version on the market to be able to update because right now the game is not connected to your google account so your are not able to update a paid app through the Android market. I recommend contacting the seller of your Prime. I hope they will be able to help you somehow.

actually I wrote the developer Friday and told him my situation. couldn't update Gamestop version. so i ended up deleting it to try to by the one from marketplace. well that won't work either. reason being even after deleting the marketplace shows the game as purchased. but when I try to download and install it, it stops and tells me the app hasn't been purchased. so now I'm out of Gamestop version and unable to buy the marketplace version either. I asked them if they could help my situation out by emailing me the apk or something.
I heard back from the developer shortly after I wrote him on Friday and he said he could help me out on Monday. so I'm hoping he will resolve this. I also mentioned others are having same issue as me. I sent a copy of my email to the actual developer and a copy to the madfinger email address.

I wrote the devs too and they told me I had to buy it from the market or "contact your seller."

Update: Good news and sorta bad news
The developer wrote me back today and sent me the latest version of shadowgun apk, The LeftOver pack version. It installed just fine and everything.
BAD NEWS is he sent me the regular version one..lmfao I just wrote him back telling him I had ShadowgunTHD version. The one optimized for tegra3 devices. I asked him if he could send me the apk for THD version. If not then its still cool, and I appreciated his help. He asked me not to redistribute also.
Has anyone noticed their Shadowgun freezing up after playing a while or screen gets stuck n starts jumping? This happened on a later level in Thd version I had. Now its doing it in the regular version playing expansion pack levels also. I got only so far through levels then it'll freeze up. At first I was thinking because I have force gpu rendering on but this happens whether its off or on. The expansion pack, for the little bit I got to play seemed cool. The new levels and weapon. But I thought this added online multiplayer deathmatch modes also. If so, where is it at?
Also happens sometimes playing Six guns. I hate it when it happens. Its not like I'm running low on memory or something.
I get some freezing issues on Shadow gun every now and then, but not regularly. I also have to restart the Prime I order to get it working normally after it happens.
Gamestop has yet to reply to my inquiry about upgrading their pre-installed Shadowgun THD game. Has anyone else tried to contact them about this?

Just now I compared my version number in Gentle Alarm (2.6.14AM) to the version number in the app store (3.1.3). Clearly I'm not receiving the updates...
Anyone know what the deal is? Is it because the Atrix isn't officially supported by the app store yet?

Were you comparing your version number to the.most current version in the Amazon AppStore or android market? I sent an email to Amazon about their slow updates (they are slower at releasing updates than in the android market) and they basically said their approval process might make it take longer for apps and updates to get approved.

Amazon is fantastically slow in releasing updates, it is not related to the phone model. Amazon claims that they really review each update for security etc. so if that's true it's a good thing that they are taking their time.

That's what I thought was going on. Amazon doesn't want to get screwed over approving an app/update that starts stealing data similar to what happened a few months ago with the Android Market.
Well I compared Amazon's to the markets, and the versions were off for the reasons you explained. I knew about that...but the app ON my phone isn't up to the same version that the Amazon app store says it should be. Some I'm just not getting the updates pushed to my phone... I've noticed a couple other apps aren't updated as well as this one, but the version numbers aren't so drastically off as Gentle Alarm is. I emailed the app developer and he said he couldn't explain it but would send me the update himself if need be, but I also emailed Amazon and haven't heard back yet. Not really expected them to blow me off or anything...I typically trust Amazon but we'll see.
ive noticed this too... i check my market like 4 times a day for updates (total update whore ) and i always get a couple each day... hardly ever for my amazon apps though.
I've had the Minecraft apk from a friend that bought it. Now with the sale, I was going to buy it myself but it shows as Purchased and it doesn't even try to buy it(says cant download app wasn't purchased). I'm suspecting this is because Titanium Backup Market doctor. I even tried a full wipe of the ROM and no change. Older Market shows it normally, but the price isn't right(it's the normal price, not the 10 cent sale). Even the web based Market shows as Purchased. Can anyone help? I would really love to buy it

Exact same thing is happening for me with Soundhound (paid). I uninstalled the non-market version, and it shows purchased on both the Market website & app. I just tried uninstalling Market updates, force stop, clear data, reboot.... and the market still shows "purchased".
I also previously used TB Market Doctor. I've already unlinked the app using Market Doctor.
EDIT: I guess Google heard me. Now it's showing not purchased on the web & phone. Now I purchased it and it's working. Thanks Larry! (I think?)

I have just logged in to my Android Market account and used the "report a problem" link next to the three apps I am having trouble with to report this to Google. Fingers crossed they can reset/unlikely them so that I can buy the genuine apps in the ten pence sale.

It didn't show the app as purchased but with the original price (2.33€ or something like that), but when I went on to check out, it showed me 0,12€ (0,12€ and not 0,10€ for, as I read in the email I received from google, italian IVA, the same as VAT) and so I completed the order.
I hope this fixed the problem forever.

I managed to get the old market on my Sensation, find the application I want and it now let's meet buy... But, I click buy, then accept permissions, and the checkout where it shows my card number has a 'buy' button at the bottom, but no sale price... Is there a further screen after this, or has Google pulled the discount?

Just answered my own question, clicked buy on Endomondo Prof and was charged full price, not the sale offer. Oh well, it was only only 69p anyway.
At least I know what to do if any other apps come up in the sale. Cheers fellas.

I tried that method, even downgraded to DI18(Samsung Epic 4g), but my Credit Card is greyed out

When I purchased, it said it went through, but when I went to download it, it says I havent purchased it. I emailed google, they said they were having problems and that it should be fixed in a few hours. They emailed me back and told me it was fixed, but it was still showing as purchased in my market. Now that the sale is over, i guess I'm screwed out of it now.

Have you tried downgrading your market app to v2.x as said before?
For me and others was the only way to fix the problem...

i got my tfp from gamestop. it came bundled with shadowgun thd. there was a recent update to this game to make it better for tegra3.
issue is that i cant download the update from market! get an error that i did not purchase it!

I got the same thing. The one that came from Gamestop is the Tegra3 version. if nothing major wasn't added, which I didn't notice, I wouldn't sweat it. Same goes for Sonic CD. there is an update but won't let you update from market.
Another reason why pre-installed apps are bad. They are installed the same way a pirated application would be installed. You have not actually bought Shadowgun, you simply have it installed.
To get future updates you either have to 'pirate it again' or buy it from the Market.
properly preinstalled apps are able to be updated (when they're baked into the rom) but the way gamestop has just sideloaded these apps is really annoying, aside from not being able to update them, unless you backup the apk, you will lose the app if you do a system wipe.
i don't know how else they could have given them to us, as afaik android doesn't have things like redemption tokens/keys in the same manner as you get extra stuff with xbox games, but they def need a better way than what they have done.

Yes, I still have problems with Google Goggles, Google Music and other pre-installed apps on my Nexus One. These never report updates and I have to jump through hoops to update them, and these are Google Apps on a Google Device. At least these are free so its just a frustration. For your pre-installed paid apps, you normally need to get those updates from the manufacturer who updates them in their normal update. However, since Gamestop is not the manufacturer I would say you are unlikely to get any updates to your free apps unless you go out and buy them.
Yeah did I factory reset and lost all the GS games:/ looked at the Gs site they should at least made it possible for those that purchased it through GS to be able to redownload it through our account somehow.

I bet they plan on making a version of impulse for android which would be a pre install app store for this stuff. They are just not on the ball since they had to buy that product from Stardock and its been obvious they do not have developers to keep it up.

Its not so much a version but a package. I would imagine you have the Tegra 3 version, but this was probably a Gamestop package that does not match the market package. This is why it does not update.
You should be able to go into your Manage Applications setting and find the version number installed. You can then compare this with the version listed in the description of the app in the market. This will tell you whether it matches or how different they are.

it's the THD version, probably the first one (1.0)

the reason they don't update is they were sideloaded, so the cert/key/liscence doesn't check out when the market looks for it to update.
what if i uninstall the game and install it again from the backup apk. i recall the first time i opened the game it downloaded. maybe when it downloads this time, we may get the new version of the game!

I talked with my local district manager of GS and told him of this issue. He said he would let the regional manager know and have him pass it up to corporate GS about it. He called BS on this as well. He seemed like A cool guy. I have his number now and will call back in a week or so. And ask. If he has. Heard anything about this

no, what it downloads is the game data (textures and such) if those are updated for some reason, it will download the latest ones, but the app updates won't change since the apk is still the old version. BUT for backup purposes, a TiB of the apk works fine, i had luckily backed mine up (on the microSD card)and had to wipe my tablet, and was able to restore it just fine.

He said that it was BS that GS would release something that you don't technically own. He said we should be able to update the apps when the update does come up since we paid for the apps when we purchased the tablet. He is going to let the regional manager know this and try to get an answer for me/us about what we can do about this. Like I said he was pretty cool about everything.

Well you do own it. They just didn't use an established market (sideloading instead), didn't provide you a hardcopy or remote backup, and did not provide a way to keep it up to date. What's BS is how clueless Gamestop is about technology and specifically Android.
Although I don't have a GS version, I am very interested in what you find out. GS has been trying to get into the tablet market and how they handle this would be a good indication on how successful they will be at it.

do an app backup from astro. then u can fid apk's in the backup folder.

I updated to ICS this morning, but the Riptide demo is now gone. Not the end of my universe, but I was looking forward to trying it out! (I updated within 10 minutes of starting up for the first time)
It is still there for me.
Mine is gone as well, but I am happy about it, I was having problems removing it.
i found the files in a pre-ics backup
restored the files but it still does not appear in the list of apps in the app drawer
i have reset the permissions and rebooted
mine disappeared too, but i have the full so was trying to remove it anyways.
i guess the demo is over and they want you to buy the full now

Does Glowball still work for any of you after the ICS update? Mine just shows the loading screen and goes back to the desktop. Theres a few other apps/games that are not working as well after the update...not sure what to think of this at the moment

Actually, my Glowball did that BEFORE the ICS update. I could not figure out what I did to cause this... Figured it was just some bug with the demo.
All working fine here. glowball, riptide demo, shadowgun.
For Glowball issues, search for it in the market. There it will show an update. After updating, glowball will function correctly.

Actually after updating I still had the issue, even after clearing app data, however a reboot fixed it.
I still have Riptide demo on mine after ICS upgrade.

Does anyone know a way to get Six-Guns working on AOKP? I get "Checking required files..." and then "Your device is not compatible with this game. Please request a refund." Good thing it's free!
I downloaded it onto my JXD S601 android game console (market said it was supported and let me download it). However, when I tried to run it, it said it wasn't supported.
I used "root explorer" on my JXD, and went into the /cache directory, found the apk and copied it to the microSD card. I put that microSD card into my prime and ran the APK. Running it on the prime it didn't report it was incompatible... it told me I need to download an additional 322 megs to play the game (which it is doing right now.)
Hopefully it'll work when it's done downloading...
UPDATE: Launched it immediately after downloading, and the screen was flickering really badly. Rebooted and tried again, seems to be working... there have been a few odds pauses, maybe I'll manually put it into performance mode and see if that helps...
I just copied the apk from my wife's Xoom and it worked without any problems for me.

The issue is that AOKP on the Prime makes that tablet report to the market as ASUS eepad rather than ASUS eepad Transformer TF201, or something like that. Jermaine is working on fixing this issue, so in time it will work. Have patience.
As it's free anyway I didn't feel guilty finding the apk elsewhere and downloading it. The game works almost perfect for me so far. I have had some problems in one area where my character started flashing but it seemed to be in that area only (so far).
It runs smooth and is pretty good. Although the game is free it tempts you to purchase items in game up to the value of £69 for the maximum package I think it was. In particular it wants to to buy gold so you can purchase things in game and saddle bags are definitely needed.
I will keep at this game because it's good but the lack of funds for saddle bags is going to make it hard and I won't be drawn into in game purchases.
I found a hacked version(its a free app) that's modded to work with tf101. I had the screen flickering and pauses at first. after a reboot, the flickering went away and the pauses did for the most part. I'd say this is a cool game to be free. the one I'm using is Escoburia(misspelled) version. he knows how to get unsupported gameloft games working on prime. I also got Oregon settlers to work also. I have yet to install his versions of Tin Tin and Nova2. I had nova2 before but wasn't the tablet version. it had the little X in right hand corner. this new version is modded for tf101 so hopefully its the official tablet version.

The issue is that AOKP on the Prime makes that tablet report to the market as ASUS eepad rather than ASUS eepad Transformer TF201, or something like that. Jermaine is working on fixing this issue, so in time it will work. Have patience.

How'd you get nova 2 to work. I was able to trick market to allow me to DL it once. Before it would say your device not compatible in Google play it had a install button for it. I quickly hit it before it went away and it let me dl it but once I try to open the game it says not compatible and to request a refund.
