[Q] using phone for fax modem - HTC EVO 3D

is there any way to use your htc for a modem to send faxes? or is there an app? anything would help please!!
Thanks

I know that many phones had this functionality in the past, but I think that the platform that axed, but I will dig in and see what I can find that might help you. Can you give us more explanation about what you intend to do and maybe we can have more opinion about what you can and cant do?

Dear Megabiteg,
Can you remember how long it has been since mobile phones had fax functionality, and which models or brands has fax functionality?
Thanks,
Harry.

Is there anything needed for the community?

I just exchanged my Fuze for a new one due to some mechanical issues with the model I first had. I now have a clean, new Fuze. Is there anything from here that would be helpful for the community that I could extract and upload? I have no idea, which is why I'm asking. Just wanna give back a bit, many of you guys have been very helpful.
Meantime, can someone please tell me where I can find an app that does unit conversions? Weight, volume, distance, etc.? Thank you guys!

because porting android needs a lot of rewritting the drivers and how to speak to youre phones hardware
and even the great phones like my blackstone dont have android running
and they are trying to acomplish that for over a half year now
and many other huge phones dont have a working android for there phone
and it arnt that many people here with the iolite so i think we dont have programmer how can make it for us ive it would ever be accomplished on other phones
best regards
miniterror
I donĀ“t can better say this.
Greetings!
HI!
Sorry for stupid questions...but I dont understand why someone should write new driver? Hardware are (almost) the same. Why you can't use tattoo's drivers without changing?

Well, if you are doing this private I cannot know if that is true. My interpretation can be that you are breaching rule 11 (since you are not proving the opposite).
Also this falls in spamming since you are using xda to recruit discussions to your personal email and not in xda.
Sorry dude, I will need to shut down this thread temporarily. If you decide to keep discussion here, PM me so I can open the thread again.

[Q] Galaxy S3 Camera

Hey guys!
Is it possible to use the camera apk from galaxy S3 in our good ol' S2?
I saw the features of S3 and the camera app looks really good and functional..
Pull the apk off your SIII and find out.

Okay, consider this. Ask one of the owners of an SIII to pull the apk and framework off it for you.
Stop and think about it for a minute.
Got it yet?

There was no sarcasm in my post. I'm just trying to get you to think logically about what you're asking. You said you wanted to learn.
I admire & respect you for trying to get people to think logically/coherently around here before posting crap Oinky, which the OP seems to be doing a lot on here lately. He's got more than a few mates tho.
However, it's an exercise in futility. Most people here don't want the logical/simple that requires a bit of work on their part. They want the complex/convoluted that requires effort on the part of everyone but them :-/

I'm not as experienced in android as you are mate. I was asking if theoretically its possible. If you don't have anything useful to say regarding my question, please move along. And keep your wit to yourself.
1) I did say something 'useful' which was proportionate to the question.
2) No.
Thanks for playing.
Edit to add - Again, think for a moment. Different phone. Will require different firmware/framework; I.E SGS2 roms will not run on the SGS3, of course the camera apk for the S3 won't work on the S2. Do you see anyone on here running the camera apk from the Nexus on their S2 ?
As we've said, a few moments of logical thinking could have negated the need for this pointless thread.

So... You're asking a theoretical question about an .apk file from a phone that has yet to be commercially released, if it will work on an I9100?

See, now was that too hard? Thanks for explaining. I've learnt a thing or two from you.
I read about porting ROMs and was under the impression that the same applies for .apk
This wasn't pointless. At least for me.
No, it wasn't hard. And that's exactly the point several people have tried to illustrate for you, but it has gone way over your head. You just don't get it.
Now then, that's it for me. You're beginning to drag me down to your level & I know I've got no chance Vs your experience (some people reading this will understand where I'm coming from).

Question Secret Hidden Codes

For the hell of it, has anyone tried any on the A52 5G? I have tried about 60 and only get 10 to work.. Now this is using the T-Mobile version with Android 12 UI 4.0
Are you trying codes just to try codes? Most people go about it the other way around. They have a problem or task to solve and go from there. Your interest seems a bit strange!

Why is that strange? You either have or haven't. Nothing strange about wanting to know which works and which do not for future diagnostic use. Use to use these all them time, on older phones.. Knowledge is power.. You either have it our you don't

Its far from strange. Some people enjoy learning about technology. Knowing how to use advanced problem solving techniques is a great skill to have in your skillset. I personally have learnt the codes for various devices and now, when someone needs help, I have the ability to diagnose it. Thats a win-win for me and them.

I dont have the device so I can't try it out but as you've discovered, most lists of codes on the internet are a mish-mash of codes that probably don't have anything to do with your device. There are some that are Android codes, some that are Samsung generic codes and some are actually for your device. I tend to copy lists from the internet and merge them into a giant list and then when I have a device, go through checking them off one by one. Then I save the list for future reference. I have a folder in Samsung Notes that stores the huge merged list (so I only have to add new codes to it) and then individual Notes for different devices containing just the working codes. Just watch out for the factory reset code. Someone mislabelled that one once and I had to kiss goodbye to my data.

The one code I use to use a lot. Was the one which had all the important info on the phone.. Which included how many call were made since first activated.. Plus, if you bought a used phone, y0u could find out, if it was refurbished, when it was first activated, call, data history.. On this phone as far as I know that code does not exist, as I have not found it yet.

Because if a code on my list doesn't work for whatever reason, I get the complaints and support requests. And God forbid someone ****s up their entire device because they use the wrong list and then I will have days of harassment and blame because of their incompetence. I'm trying to look after my mental health right now, not make it worse.

Just a fair warning: prepare yourself for a lot of people complaining that the code you provided didn't work. I once published a hack for a specific device that some user decided would work on a totally different device and I got days of harassment after they ****ed it all up. Stuff like that can take a huge toll on your mental health if your already in a bad place.

It reminds me of something I see frequently in Linux forums. I started using Linux the year before Slackware and Debian were released and very few things irritate me more in forums than an experienced user telling a new user to RTFM.

You must need glasses.. You misread the OP.. I was just inquiring if anyone has used any of these coeds.. I do not need help or understanding on how these codes work. I have used them many time for older phones I have had.. This being a new phone and how tech has changed. I was just curious on how these new phones utilize these codes.. I'm sorry your butt hurt, but life will go on.
