DIY - USB Host OTG - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

Description of how to do the OTG adapter for those who have a normal USB Micro B adapter - USB A.
The micro USB connector pin 4 not connected, connect it to pin 5. You have to remove the gum with a knife to expose the plug contacts. Then a thin wire to connect pin 4 and 5.

And this is all the work. If you perform everything correctly, you can connect to our MediaPad memory, keyboard, mouse.
Good luck!

There's quite alot of these cables on eBay for $2.25 shipped. Ordered mine, made sure to do a semi-local seller, got it two days later.

So will a HUB like this work fine? Or does it need an external power source?
Also, if I connected 2 male USB into the HUB and one into a wall charger, will it charge the phone?
Definitely needs power because I tried an unpowered hub with flash drive and phone crashed.

Did it just crash or explode and caught a small fire?
Dunno I couldn't find the Black Box. But yeah it just crashed and rebooted after a few seconds.

No.
I had got one of these for my Galaxy R hoping the same as you do, but it didn't work. Some information digging later I realized that you need a (micro in this case) USB connecter that makes the phone act as a host.
This dual connecter can only be used to extend a cable or something similar.

If I know, Galaxy R dont support USB OTG. Did you try it on your SGS3?

bought one on ebay, but power doesn't work with my GN3 ... but work with an Galaxy S1 ... what is the problem ? anyone get one working ?
Maybe the problem is that since the note2/s3 Samsung changed a lot of stuff to an 11 pin connector as for the s1/s2 it's a 5 pin. As for a normal otg cable, it works for me at least (I have one w/o a charging cable)

[Q] Charging Port?

So, my S2's charging port is broken, I ordered new usb port for it. I got the usb port, I disassembled the phone and noticed it is impossible to change, so I ordered Dock Connector Charging Port Flex Cable Ribbon.
How can I change it?
Is it hard to do?
Can I easily break something else?
It looks like this :

Sorry for horribly written thread, I'm writing this from my phone.
Fairly easy to do & you're halfway there assuming you've ordered the correct part. KeithRoss39 has a guide in General (not stickied; search for 'replacing USB charger board') which has all the info you need to get it done, and he's the expert on these things here.
