I had Custom ROM MIUI v 2.3.23 but when i wonted to update to version 2.3.3 so i tried. But i got an ERROR that said that the SD card could not be mounted, so i tried to reinstall the kernel. I used CF-Root-SGS2_XW_NEE_KI8-v4.3-CWM4.zip, and when it was finished the phone restarted but it stopped on the loading screen. What should i do?

Kernel Number

HI all,
Have just tried flash my rom to 2.3.4 gingerbread rom (S5830DXKPB) from samfirmware. its working fine however my kernel version still show my old rooted kernel version 2.6.35.7-perf-CL5145579 [email protected] #1. Is this normal? how do i change the kernel num reflecting the 1 that its should be now?
don't use that lousy kernel, try ketut's cfroot kernel!
which 1 should i choose from this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158197
b80 or b80ex?

if ur using stock rom, the latest is b82-ex-fixed.zip. but u wont get bln support unless ur using stock rom DXKPB. if u want bln support on stock rom other than DXKPB, use cf-root b-80.

No, bln works for KPH KPN KPO too just needs a patched services.jar provided in the thread. Anyway he's using KPB so no worries.

Wow , that's weird .
Thats y but i believe the kernel is already flashed as i hv superuser, tweak, and cwm in my app drawer. Just that i got no idea y it does not reflect the changes.
Wonder is it because when i first flssh the stock gingerbread from samfirmwsre, i did not wipe data and factory reset.

The error is probably with the rom and not with the kernel, because with the stock rom works perfectly...
After flashing this kernel my neo v gets rooted on .62 stock ROM ....
but will this rooted ROM work if i change the kernel to something else like nightelf stock kernel .... ???
or have anyone tested it yet ???
let me know ....

Root privileges are integrated in this kernel. So you will not stay rooted almost for sure, if you flash another kernel which is not prerooted...

You will be able to update normally to ICS using PC companion, but to be ablolutely sure, you better relock your bootloader before the update...
@bbooff: few days ago I flashed ICS beta from sony page, and I used your kernel for hot boot just so I can install zip with superuser stuff.
Today I flashed stock .62fw, and wanted to hot boot with your kernel, but no luck, I needed to flash it in order to boot into CWM.
You got any idea why id did cooperate on ICS and not on clean .62
Also I couldn't do factory reset while I was using your kernel. I guess that is kinda normal as it's not stock kernel, but still I thought it should work

I have no idea!
The opposite is what should had happened.
I think that if you reinstall 0.62 (using flashtool and not wotan) and then my kernel, everything will be o.k.
If you install a custom kernel, you can do a factory reset through the cwm menu.

Actually I did used flashtool.
After I flash your kernel I can enter cwm. problem is if I try hot boot it.
and about factory reset, I know we can do it via recovery, but is it normal that we can't do it from phone?

fastboot boot boot.img
it allows you to boot with kernel without flashing it.
your kernel is very good.... simple and easy... helped me restore my phone back...
But now i am facing one more problem...
whenever I try to install any other kernel through fastboot, that kernel does not work; instead your kernel starts booting up...
Can you please throw some light on it?
Thnx

[SOLVED] Trouble installing CM10./10.1 on MESA

Installed MESA HYBRID 4.3 Yesterday and i am not able to install any CM10/10.1 based ROM
Whether it be PACman/CM/AOKP or the unofficial Cm10.1 by shufuking.
Everytime i try to install any rom except Stock based ICS Rom's I get a STATUS 7 error
Tried removing the first three lines from the updater script and it still dosent work
Re: Trouble installing CM10./10.1

You've only listed one thing you've tried, but if you have tried everything else then god knows.
status 7 error means you formatted the system. Never format system. Try a google search. you will get xda links of people explaining how to recover from that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1884746
this thread will help.

Tried installing the ROM without Formatting the system while wiped the data and cache .
Still gives me the ****ty status 7 error .
@XperienceD - Even tried FXP 213 and MIUI 142.
Gives the same error.
Re: Trouble installing CM10./10.1
This happens to me too.
So the best solution for now. Flash the roms you want using the provided kernel.
Then take a backup, flash Mesa, switch between roms via restoring them from recovery.
I do so

I had this problem as well. I searched through google and found out the solution is to flash a newer version of CWM which actually worked for me. I couldn't find a separate package with CWM but I found a kernel containing it. Everything has been fine since then.

Flashed to a newer version of CWM ?
I guess MESA already has CWM6.xx
You found a kernel containing it means ? Most of the kernels already use CWM as default recovery I guess

MESA also uses dual recoveries and TWRP as default.
What did he exactly meant ?
Flash another CWM on top of the pre-installed recovery ?

if you have unlocked bootloader, try some of the kernels which use newer cwm or twrp.

Flash boot.img (in the zip by rom)
Install Zip
Install Gapps
Wipe data (do this first and only once and never do it again)
then flash custom kernels ..

E10-kernel, U20 is for x10 mini pro (the one with the keyboard)
But for the ROM you chose you need the nAa-Gingerbread kernel (nAa-14)
