App Request.- Am/Pm burn in fix

i have noticed that the Am/Pm bar on the top of the screen starts to burn in, it would be great if somebody could make an app that would move the Am/Pm bar around so everybody's burn in's dont get any worse
I believe changing fonts every now and then could take care of it. I know it's not whast you asked for, I guess it would just act as a bandaid for now.
LauncherPro lets you hide the statusbar on the homescreen.

Zeam let's you do this as well and it's what I recently started doing. Another option might be to use a 24 hour clock. Not sure how much that would really help though.
If they have a way to black out the battery how come theres no way to get rid of the clock or black it out I dont use it anyway

devs for the verizon fascinate found a way to remove the am/pm from the notification bar. probably the main reason they removed it on the nexusS lol we could look into how they removed it.

Murse thanks for the suggestion! I went and downloaded Zeam from the market and it's an excellent launcher which also allows you to hide status bar! And it's free, no ads! Thanks again buddy!
edit: Ok Zeam only removes the status bar from the home screen. Open the browser or any app and the status bar reappears so not useful for hiding status bar. Also live wallpapers freeze intermittently while running Zeam. Is a good launcher despite those shortcomings.
Removing status bar entirely will probably require a different rom, not an apk.

Do you have a link to something pointing to where they changed it. I am working on a mod that will allow you to change the color (like in cyanogen mod) and even hide time and/or am/pm.

Yes. I am working on a mod (for Nero3) that takes the "settings" features from cyanogenmod, so you can show/hide the time, show/hide am/pm and change the color.
I have the code in place in the services.jar, and let me tell you, that is no easy task... and I think it is "sort of" working. when I flash the modded services jar, I have no time, but i also dont have the signal strength, and battery. which is also part of the CM stuff.
I started creating a "custom" spareparts app, that is based on the CM one (it only has the time / status bar stuff). but currently i have been unable to get it to display the time or any of the other status icons.
I am not sure yet what the problem is. It could be because it is not signed as a system app, or it could be that I am missing something in the services.jar.

How to change icons in app drawer without any launcher i am using x10 MP and ROM CM7 2.1.7, also please give some links for transparent themes like CRYSTAL....
The only way to change the icons in the app drawer is to theme each individual app and change the relevant .png file. It's a bit tedious and really only works on system apps.
I'm not sure that's actually what you want to do since you mention not having any launcher. The launcher is the app that gives you the app drawer. If you haven't got one on your phone, the only way you can run any apps is by connecting is by using a PC interface.
I'm guess what you want to do is the change the appearance of the icons on the home screen of the stock SE launcher. That's the screen with the four selectable areas in each corner. If that's what you're after then you're out of luck. Only third-party launchers (like ADW, Go, Zeam, etc) offer the ability to theme the icons on the home screen.
Transparent status bar
yes i better move to MIUI launcher....im using CM7...i have heard many things about making status bar transparent....is there any simple way to patch this....
That depends what you mean by simple..lol
In CM7 there may be an option in the settings app to do that. I don't know if there is or not as I'm using a CM7 port.
Otherwise, you need to modify the statusbar_background.9.png file inside the SystemUI.apk. Change that to transparent, but make sure not to change the pixel thick border or you'll get all sorts of problems, and that will do it.
This also depends on your launcher as some just won't accept a transparent statusbar at all.
LOL
i liked the miui launcher....but now i notice there is no miui launcher for CM7....and for the transparent status bar....let it go....something new will come up im enough happy with the CM7 rom itself....i removed all built in themes...no use for the colours inside just the desktop itself is lovely with widgets and APW....thanks for everything bro
You can get a semi-transparent status bar in Flame.GDX ICS ROM. As for a launcher? Id recommend 360 Launcher.

How to remove dock, change notification bar?

Hey guys, I just flashed MIUI to give it another shot and im loving it all over again.
There are a couple things I'd like to know:
1. Can I remove the dock? If so, how?
2. Where can I go to learn about how to install a new notification bar? I want to check the themes/tweaks/etc.
3. How do I install new icons? I downloaded icon packs but not exactly sure how to install them, im still reading up on Desktop visualizer but im still a bit confused
Thanks

Remove the dock by installing a new launcher of your choosing. I prefer GoLauncher with miui.
Go to settings, there should be themes in there. When you are in the themes you can browse or search by clicking online at the top. If you go to the bottom and click edit theme you can mix and match your themes. Like notification bar from one, lock screen from another, etc.
I have never heard of desktop Visualizer. Icons are a subset of the themes. You can mix and match them too. If you go to edit the theme, then select icons, and click online you can browse just the icons, vs the whole theme.
You can also find some themes in the general android theme forum, not the gs2, the bigger Android section.
Well, look what you did, now you got me in the miui mood, I'm gonna have to switch back.

on MIUI, just open the THEMES app and download whatever theme you want. also you can customize the current theme you are on to make it any way you like....personally i like meeui dark with ics mixed in....
I'll throw in a plug for the ADW launcher, which will let you wasily do several of the modifications you want: roemove the dock, hide the notification bar and change icons via a long press of the target.
I only use Desktop Visualizer if I want to use an icon that's larger than 1x1.

Use the advice that was given above your post, 3 years ago... just install a new launcher and disable it in the app settings. Perhaps your current launcher can already do it.

Modding the Status Bar

Iphone has a tool called zeplin (or something like that) to add icons to the status bar....My son has a pokemon guy that he did and looks kinda cool.
I want the android guy sitting in my status bar on left all the time, is there a program that allows me to do it? If not how can I put the android guy on my status bar.
I must have this I tease my son all the time about his iphone, please help.
Hm, I'm not sure about just adding him to the status bar, but I know how to change any of the icons in the bar itself(WiFi,3g,etc.). If that is something you want, I could change one of those, but you need to be rooted.
there's an app called "phono" that puts your operator symbol in the status bar. You could grab that app, change the carrier pngs in the app itself, resign it and reinstall it. lmk if you want to learn how, or go to the theme help link in my sig
This can work !!
Well if u just want the android guy...download advanced task killer from play store !
Click Thanks if i helped !!
Maybe you can do it with leedroid tweaks or trough some other theme

CM10.1 Theme with white status bar icons as only change

Can anyone point me in the direction of a CM10.1 or AOKP theme where the only thing that changes from stock is that the status bar icons, specifically signal, battery and wifi are white instead of Holo blue? Either that or a theme that replaces the status bar with MIUI bar icons but maintains the rest of the UI would be great as well. I tried one called HoloWhite, as well as a couple other minimalistic ones, but with those some of the icon styles changed.

Looking for exactly the same thing... Did you guys find anything
I would also like this. Still haven't found anything.......
@rosswhite @oae08 @krackerjac @bcparker
This works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2318311
Also flash the Paranoid android icon zip (page4) if you have trouble with default icons of your rom.
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918500
also wondering if anyone has found this. dont want to deal with Xposed or anything like that either....and would prefer to have it in a theme chooser app as I switch ROM's from time to time. If anyone has a stock theme .apk i could modify it, but i just can't find one. the CM10.2 template is completely different from stock.
sorry to bring this back from the dead.
I'm looking for that white icon them too...
