[Q] Transformer Prime Battery Dies at 30 % - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I have had Transformer Prime for over a month. its rooted and never gave any battery issue. i have installed Battery Booster app to monitor battery percentage and temperature and also to be notified when battery is fully charged so i dont over charge it and damage the battery.
recently my prime shuts down with 30% battery still remaining. i have to charge it to get it back on. Once i charge it for 5 - 10 min it turns on showing 34-35 % battery life. ( Battery Percentage checked with Both Battery Booster app and built in Device settings )
Kindly Help.

Wipe the battery stats, it has the "dead" state at 30%.
Wipe the stats, run a full cycle or two and it should be good to go.

I have already done that , and now have my fingers crossed , will update once i reach 30% or Below.

Ok . wiped the battery stats , charged it to 100 % and no problem faced after that. took 5-6 pics with flash on at 1% battery remaining, still didn't die.

Good to hear!

[Q] Official battery, reporting false capacity

I've bought a new legit/official (has holo, serials etc.) Atrix battery.
Charged it to 100%.
During usage, its draining literally 10% an hour with very light usage (several minutes an hour). In short its draining at three times the speed of my 1 year old battery.
I've tried wiping battery stats but that didn't work.
Any ideas, or is the stats just buggered and I just gotta run it in? (ie it will go to zero then sit on zero for 5-6 hours lol)
note I've gone back to my original battery in meantime rofl
EDIT: The actual problem is that the batt is reporting much less capacity than it actually has
|The new battery is great capacity wise lasts till midnight
However the stats are still totally screwed, it will say 1% by midday, then hum along until midnight fixed at 1% (I dunno exactly how long for as I can't take the risk of leaving it off at night then its dead and I don't wake up for work in morning). |
Could just be a bad battery. Considering the old works fine that's probably the problem.

I have a similar problem with the original battery that came with phone it drains the charge quickly to 1% and on one 1% it gives a battery life of more time than the time it took to discharge from 100%.i was thinking of buying a new battery but now i am confused that what should i look before buying the battery to get a battery that can show me the exact charge on the indicator.
I have tried all tutorial of calibration used different roms and kernels but nothing seems to solve the issue.
well I might try that then, just let it run to zero see how long it lasts then see whether the stats come good over time
OK help needed.
The new battery is great capacity wise, lasts from morning to bedtime with >2 hours of bluetooth music, 30 mins calls, a ton of texts.
However the stats are still totally screwed, it will say 1% by midday, then hum along until midnight fixed at 1% (I dunno exactly how long for as I can't take the risk of leaving it off at night then its dead and I don't wake up for work in morning).
Aside from wiping stats which I have tried, is there anythnig else I can do?
I really want to use it, like I said real life capacity is great, but if its always giong to be reporting 1% its a bit dicey not knowing how much batt you really have left...
same issue with my spare battery not sure wtf is going on
When I have battery stat problems the following has always fixed it:
1) leave phone on until it dies
2) take back off phone and plug into wall charger
3) after batt symbol shows 100% (without unplugging or turning off the phone) remove the battery. After a minute or so battery symbol will have question mark
4) put battery back in and leave it for at least 2 hours (seems like I have had to press the switch sometimes but you don't want the phone to reboot or you will have to start all over)
5) reboot into CWM and wipe the battery stats
6) reboot and it should be good to go
Anyone else found a fix to this yet?
I'm now running ICS (turl build) issue is still there.
Steps taken to resolve
- discharge to zero
- charge to max
- wipe stats
still there.
The weird thing is that the actual capacity is fine, it can last all day no worries, just from midday onwards it thinks its 1% so has annoying LED flashing at you, also you have no idea how much batt it actually has.
Edit: I just realised your suggestion above has extra step (take batt out of connected atrix then insert again). I guess I'll have to drain it again and do it overnight... gah

Nothing will work i have tried almost every tutorial. Recently i found out the phone is showing the the full capacity of battery only 500 that's why i think we will have to change that with the actual voltage to get a accurate battery indicator. What's ur battery full charge design check if from the root exploler
/sys/devices/platform/cpap_battery/power_supply/battery
My phone uevent is showing this
Powersupply-capacity=5
Powersupply-voltage-now=3836000
Powersupply-temp=260
Powersupply-charge-fill-design=500
Powersupply-charge-counter=1

I'll try the insert empty bat into already connected phone, charge to 100% remaining off, repeat trick overnight, then report back.
FWIW on my 'good' battery which is 1 year old ROFL it says 1880
not sure how changing it would help though or is even possible?. It must be dynamically reported somehow as my good battery gives me a 'good' stat.
I use battery calibration and it worked, have it

I'm guapurrin
the battery is charging calibration if you have to load it to calibrate

How much is ur other battery showing.I have tried different ways but was not able to change values.
500 same as you! second drain and calibrate did nothing
Maybe theres a faulty batch of batteries and we both got one
Can people PLEASE stop telling us to calibrate we've BOTH DONE THAT MANY TIMES NOW. The problem is that the capacity of the battery is being reported as 500mah not 1930 or whatever its supposed to be. THe actual running time of the battery is fantastic, just thinks its at 0 all the time lol
/sys/devices/platform/cpap_battery/power_supply/battery
Powersupply-charge-fill-design=500 - should be ~1900mah

Do I need a new battery?

for the past couple days ive had charging issues. ill go to charge my phone at night my battery will be at 40% or whatever it is. I plug it in for like 5 minutes and it says its 100% charged, obviously its not. Also when I wake up and unplug my phone it says its 100% charged, itll stay at 100 for like an hour and a half then all the sudden itll drop to like 85%. Is there anything I can do? Do I just need a new battery?
Wipe your battery stats charge 100% wipe battery stats again .
Use Better Battery Stats to check excess drain .

Phone having trouble charging??

Not sure why, but I restarted my phone and it went from 50% down to 5 % power? Had it on the charger all night and it was still at 5%?? Took it off the charger for a few hours and im still at 5%. Tried wiping stats and had no luck? Any Help??

Drain all battery and charge it from zero. Let it be fully charged before starting it. If you run CWM you can wipe battery state.
Your question is in wrong section in the forum. Try starting the thread in General.
Cheers
+1 this -- and some additional detail...
Wiping battery stats does NOT improve actual battery life. If done properly, and coupled with a calibration cycle, it can increase the accuracy with which your battery reports its current charge. Ideal process is as follows..
Charge to 100%
Reboot into CWM
wipe battery stats under" advanced"
Reboot
Charge back to 100%
Let it DIE (go to 0%) from normal use, DO NOT charge it during the cycle
Re-charge to 100% and you're all recalibrated.
From the sound of it, don't be surprised if your phone sits at 5% for hours. After the calibration, your battery history should be a relatively smooth, downward sloping curve.

Check Settings>Battery Information>Battery Usage and see if a process named RILD is using a high percentage of your battery usage. That process - a very necessary Motorola radio daemon - is wreaking some havoc by causing very rapid battery discharge and also preventing normal charging.
No solution for you but thought I would let you know before you try too many different "solutions" needlessly.
Thanks!

What is the maximum percentage of charging that will reset the battery stats?

I just realized that my S3 resets the battery stats once I completely charge my phone. I don't have enough time to let me phone charge to 100 percent most of time but I like knowing how long my phone lasted all the time. Although, the battery stats reset only when I charge my phone to 100 % (or at least that's what I have observed).
Is there a threshold percentage defined for S3/ICS based phones that guarantee that the battery stats will be reset automatically when the phone is charged to a particular percentage (Say 90 % ) or do I have to always charge the phone to 100 percent to reset the battery stats?

Why would you even want to reset battery stats? It's not like they mysteriously add more juice to your battery. Just charge whenever you want, and sometimes charge it up to 100
Battery stats do not reset in that way and play no part in the charging capabilities or battery life .
See Google post on the subject on the web .

I was just looking for that to add to my post But here it is: https://plus.google.com/105051985738280261832/posts/FV3LVtdVxPT
He is talking about battery stats in Settings > Battery.
He wants to know how long his phone has been on battery, screen on time etc. and wants to know if the stats will get reset at any other point than 100% charge and the answer is no.
Plain and simple. Unless you delete the batterystats.bin file but that's more hassle than its worth.
And yes deleting batterystats.bin file does nothing for the battery life but if you guys took a few seconds to read the post and comprehend what was being said you would know that he wasn't talking about that.

Battery stats DO reset in that way!
Test it, note details in Settings > Battery, charge phone to 90% (any%)
Pull out charger and check Settings > Battery and you will see nothing has changed, all the old stats are still there, OK so now plug the charger back in and charge to 100%, now pull out the charger and check Settings > Battery and like magic, it has been RESET.
it has nothing to do with extending battery life and neither does the op.

Optimus one wiped battery stats too soon

Ok I made a mistake. One day after I installed a new rom,I wiped the battery stats, and the battery was around 40%,after that I had problems with the battery.I mean to make it charge to 100% I had to wait for even 3 days!
So I changed the rom,and wiped the battery stats again, when the battery was about 50%.
The problem is now,I can't make it to 100% to calibrate the battery.I mean my phone shows it's charging and after 2 hours,it didn't add at least 1% to the battery.
So,right now I can't get pass 45% battery, because (probably),the phone is set that is actually the max it can charge.
This might sound stupid but I have no other ideea. The phone shows it is charging, but after 2 hours it didn't charge at all.I tried plugging it into a computer,or a wall charger, the same, the phone remains at 41%.
Is there anything I can do?
Wiping battery stats has nothing to do with your problem.

Try this - Flash a new rom, but wipe the battery stats before that. Don't wipe stats again after flashing
