THIS IS NOT MEANT FOR ORD USERS xD
ORD
This is meant to be a STABLE rom, to flash and then forgot about it just like a REAL Stock rom!!!
Updates will be present only in case of versions bump and bugfixig
Don't expect nor nightly nor a weekly release, cause ITs NOT MEANT TO BE LIKE THIS!
LOL xD
Lets quickly start with the goal of the rom:
Having a REAL nexus user experience, on the Galaxy S2
This is not simply going to give you an Aosp rom, but a real OEM-Like Package, turning your SII into a brand new GNex just like it is when booted for the first time
So here is what the rom offers:
Update to android 4.1.2 (read changelog http://www.funkyandroid.com/aosp-JRO03R-JZO54K.html )
New 4.1.2 gApps + 4.2 gapps
OEM-like Nexus system Specifically built around Gs2, includes specific
OEM-like rom signaturing (encaching security)
Open source audio
System optimizations
Optipng
Zipaligned
Deodexed
Rooted
Added OTA updates
init.d support
Cm10 camera
full gapps (Gnow working)
USB OTG Mouse and Keyboard support
Encached Media Quality (MP4 -STEREO- video recording (working 1080p))
Fixed Holo background banding
Dock settings (now USB Audio with official base works)
Optimized scrolling
Optimized launcher memory usage
Optimized memory/graphic/speed
HSPAP:15 support (H+)
FM-Radio support (install it from the OTA App)
Resolved RILJ Wakelock
Optimized MediaScanner
Thats straight and simple
KNOWN BUGS (and relative workarounds!)
- TV Out Mirroring: not working (and will probably never work) -> You can still see videos from players/youtube/browser, just normal mirroring will not work
- No ProjectButter
REMEMBER:
THIS ROM IS OPENSOURCE!
www.github.com/89luca89
If YOU Want to compile your own nightly go to post 3!
Now I just want to explain to you WHY of some choices:
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Lghtweight, Fast, Smooth as silk rom BUT Still with a complete set of GApps (including FaceUnlock)
This is meant for REALLY PURE GE Experience, so NO TOGGLES, NO MODS, NO THEMES (from me, users are free to theme the rom for me ), but with the Suggestion I'll give you, you'll not Miss them...
If really then you want meteo in status, 213123 toggles, central clock and all that things go for CM9/10 and AOKP And simply leave this rom, its NOT meant to be This way xD
ADD-ON AND SUGGESTIONS:
Notification Toggles:
On Market, search for WIDGETSOID:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jim2&hl=it
After a simple setup you'll have this
OR
you can use NOTIFICATION TOGGLES:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...EsImRlLmo0dmVsaW4ubm90aWZpY2F0aW9uVG9nZ2xlIl0.

Couple of tips for users:
1) For notification and battery percentage, use notification toggle from playstore. Download cyanogenmod icons/original ics icons from within app (stock toggles in the app are big and ugly) and after 5 minutes of configuration you will get this:
2) For bln there's no notification service that runs in background polling for missed calls and msgses by default - unlike CM9. Using BLN control app you can get the service running and hence bln. If you're using a kernel with built in bln support and misc files (like Siyah) do the following to get bln working for missed calls and stock sms.
Download missed call reminder. Check missed calls and unread sms in the app. Under cal reminder settings set LED color to white. Uncheck screen On. Do the same thing for sms reminder settings. Now activate bln through script or extweaks.
If you're using gosms, uncheck "unread sms" in the app and check "Blink LED" in gosms notification settings.
3) Press and hold volume down and power key simultaneously for a screenshot.

FAQs:
Q: Can I have AOKP/CM10 Features?
A: No, dont ask
Q: How can I set Soundboos (headphone amp)?
A: just go in terminal and type:
Code:
su
cbr soundboost X
X is a vaule from -20 to 20
Q: What are the known bugs?
A: the known bugs are
- TV Out Mirroring: not working (and will probably never work) (only video out works)
- No ProjectButter (and no CRT Animation)
- Audio 50% bug -> Use DSP Manager DynamicRangeCompression/PowerAmp Direct volume control
DO NOT ASK FOR THIS BUGS
Q: I really have many problems with this rom and "put_here_any_kernel" Kernel, can you help me?
A: NO. I DO NOT support officially ANY OTHER kernel different from CM One!
Q: I have FC or a bug, How to report it?
A: Be on FRESH INSTALL, with PROVIDED Kernel, if you have some FC, open terminal and type
su
logcat > /sdcard/log.txt
then send it to me, or put it on pastebin
If you have some SOD, panics or other, send me the dmesg of Kernel
Q: I cannot find my External SDCard!
A: Its in /storage/sdcard1, you can easly manage it with any filemanager
Q: Then can you mount it in /sdcard/external_sd??
A: NOPE, this is AOSP standard, and this will remain
and you have done!
Q: I have some strange issues with my ROM that nobody reported before. What should I do?
A: IFrist check if the MD5 Checksum is correct. Then flash ROM again and see if the issue is gone. If not wipe data. If not again make sure you DO NOT use any mod or other kernel not provided by ME
Q: My Quadrant score is not as high as Samsung ICS, What is this ****??
A: Quadrant/Antutu/Linpack means NOTHING, to test a rom, flash it, play with it a couple of days and see the performance, but NOT using benchmarks
Q: AudioOut_1 is draining the battery and causing Wakelocks, what to do?
A: Uncheck the touch sounds and lock sound in sound settings, then reboot
Q: I dont like the rom, it does not have many features and its ugly
A: Degustibus...Not my business, go away then
Q: I really like your rom, can I support in any way??
A: Yes, press THANKS, or donate using the banner in the signature or above my avatar... but PLEASE:
Consider donating also to Team Hacksung and CM9 team (Entropy512, XPloid, codeworkx) cause is THANKS TO THEM that we have Aosp
Q: I see, this rom is Open Source??
A: OF COURSE IT IS! See third Post to have instructions to build it!

COMPILING THE ROM ------> ADVANCED USER ONLY!!
Those instructions are tested and works on Ubuntu 10.04 an 12.04 (machines I Have)
For Extra settings please contact me and I'll try to help!
-Install the Android SDK
-Install needed pacckages:
Code:
git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool
For 64bits enviroments also:
Code:
g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
-Create the enviroment where you'll going to develop
mkdir -p ~/bin
mkdir -p ~/android/system
-Install the Repository
curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
export PATH=~/bin:$PATH
After this step, it may be necessary a reboot to have repo working from path
-Inizialize the Repository]/B]
cd ~/android/system/
repo init -u git://github.com/89luca89/android_manifest.git
repo sync -j16
This will take a while Go out for a walk xD
-Copy proprietary files
This is needed only the first time you compile, you must have a working CBR-JB rom, working ADB.
Make sure ADB Is working on your Machine
cd ~/android/system/device/samsung/i9100/
./proprietary-files.sh
This will put all proprietary files in the /vendor
- BUILD THE ROM
. build/envsetup.sh
lunch full_i9100-userdebug
make -jX (X= number of cores)
make -jX otapackage
This will build the complete rom WITHOUT gapps
If you want the complete build (like the one in th post) you have also to:
FOLLOW THIS GUIDE
http://www.kandroid.org/online-pdk/guide/release_keys.html
to create your signature keys (credits to Koudd that helped me sorting it out! )
put all Gapps (you can find the package, or simply manually take from CBR) in vendor/CBR/GoogleApps
then
vendor/samsung/CBR/tools/squisher
Will generate a signed flashable zip with also MD5sum

Great news, mate!

luca my friend, welcome back

Welcome back Maestro Gonna install this asap

Thanks! I Hope you like the rom cause I really enjoy it!

Just installed it... It is the fastest ICS I have used on GSII... Didn't find any bugs

Great news! I loved your GingerMod! I have couple of concerns flashing ICS mod. Do I need to first flash ICS bootloader before flashing Nexus SII.
Can I just flash the ROM via CWM? Also, what is MD5 (CSC?)

Do I have to do a full wipe if coming from another ICS Rom?

Ahhhhhh the ROM I have been waiting for!

How is this different to the other galaxy nexus rom?
Also I'm not sure if u can call ur rom that mate...

The major difference between this and Faryaab's F1 ROM is that this is ODEXED and that one is DEODEXED. This is optimised for performance whereas that allows for theming etc. Visually, it won't make a difference but under the hood, this could be more fluid. Gonna have to give this a try.

Hmm OK I may try this rom. If I'm running f1s rom do I really need a full wipe? :L

Well yes, you can simply flash, just if you boot loop even with a data wipe, flash the cyanogen mod resurrection flashable via Odin, that sets all boot loaders compatible
MD5sum is a code to check if the zip is OK or corrupted so it will not be possible to have failure flash

well I know the other rom but sincerely I don't think the "intent" is the same...I develop an oem-lile rom, so its like the stock images of gnex, he does a pure aosp..., but even if are similar (aosp is aosp, optimization apart its the se for gnex nexus s and gs2...)
You cannot say this rom its not mine... you know just check the source code... its open source so just check, this is not a work you can do in a night... it might be only a coincidence, but still project are different

You can try to not wipe, but semember that in case of problems, the reason is the wipe not done

ParanoidAndroid 3.60for the Nook Color is now available!
ParanoidAndroid 3.15 is a AOSP based rom that allows users to enjoy tablet or phone UI, or hybrid.
Most apps have several different UI's for various layouts, choose which interface you prefer.
Paranoid Android sources are out and building a ROM has never been easier. See the third post for instructions!
AOSPA Features include
Control the UI of individual apps as well as your entire tablet
Small. mid and large tabletUI layout.
Customization of toolbars, lockscreen and more/
Netflix. Update: Now working with latest apk from Play Store, but you need this hack.
Color-splash for nav-bar and apps
Expanded Desktop w/ PIE controls
I especially would like you to take a second and appreciate the Cyanogen team, especially our home team of fat-tire, nemith, keyodi, eyeballer, krylon360 and steven676.
I would recommend you never pass up an opportunity to thank those guys for their efforts
.
From one of the PA creators, molesarecoming...
To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks.
This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode.
This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually.
Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course.
Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on.
This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size.
You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to.
You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot.
You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode.
Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself.
This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

Here are some screenshots of the ROM for the Nook Color
In the settings, you will see a new pane for Hybrid Settings.
Here you can adjust the default GUI and DPI for all system or user apps, or even each app individually. There is a picture walk-through at the top of the third post.
Download
Updates will also be available through Goo Manager via browse compatible roms -> mateor -> paranoidAndroid
No special GAPPS necessary; just use the latest you can find!
If you are going to run this from an sdcard, see Leapinlar's sdcard-install guide
New! Download Page
PA is using NookieDev's 3.x kernel and device tree, among other projects.
3.15 Issue List
When in extended desktop or 0% navbar, touch events where the nav bar was are touchy, at best. This will continue to be worked on. (Here was one attempt)
You can only reboot into recovery through Cyanoboot!
Boot animation is in landscape
You will have to reflash GAPPS each update (known upstream issue)
Governor/Scheduler selection in Settings does not stick (Works in 3rd party apps like TricksterMod)
Some ALSA -related noise in logcat I plan on investigating.
You tell me!
Contributions to any aspect of the project are welcome, see the involved projects here.
Thanks are due to:
molesarecoming, aaronpoweruser, D4rKn3sSys and the ParanoidAndroid Team
The CM Team, including our own fattire, keyodi, dalingrin, eyeballer, Krylon360, sluo (yeah, that's right, we thanked ourselves. What about it?)
steven676 deserves a special mention for maintaining our device and kernel. This update in particular owes him a large debt.
kevank, snipa, and the rest of TeamWin for hosting and general good will (yeah, twice) (Wanna make something of it?)
tonyp for general PA expertise
inportb for GP.
RedneckReg for the replacement device and Leapinlar for all he does for the Nook community.

Great work by mateorod on this!
Building from source is a ton better than the older builds where we had to patch frameworks from other devices.
Please post any feedback and/or preferred settings that you find or use for certain apps so we can improve the default experience.

Easiest build instructions on XDA!
These instructions are for 64 bit Linux environments, try VirtualBox if you don't use Linux normally.
Take 15 minutes and follow the beginning of this guide. if you don't have ADB set-up, it will take longer, but that is just for downloading the SDK.
If you need help installing the JDK (the hardest part, honest) do this (this is the absolute easiest way)
Code:
cd ~/
wget https://github.com/flexiondotorg/oab-java6/raw/0.2.7/oab-java.sh -O oab-java.sh
chmod +x oab-java.sh
sudo ./oab-java.sh
sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk
When it gets to the step to intialize the repo (repo init -u ETC.) STOP, and come back here, You are done with that guide, forever. Those steps only need to be done once.
Enter:
Code:
[FONT="Courier New"]repo init -u git://github.com/mateor/android.git -b pa-4.2[/FONT]
[FONT="Courier New"]repo sync[/FONT]
If you experience fetch errors during the repo sync, change the command to repo sync -j4 -f. If they still occur, then repo sync -j1 -f.
This will take a long time, do it before bed, or family time, or go eat.
When the sync is done
Code:
. build/envsetup.sh
lunch pa_encore-userdebug
make bacon
You're done! I used to have a build script here, but that is not currently working, ParanoidAndroid preferences FCs with the build script.
When it is done compiling, your ROM will be waiting for you at ~/android/system/pa/out/target/product/encore.
Fat-tire says this makes you an Android ninja, so you know it must be true. That means that if you don't try, you are admitting you don't want to be a ninja. Which reveals you to be the geek you already are but with loser rubbed all over you. Why else are you on XDA if not to learn?
I have used Paranoid on my GNex. It is a great ROM! I was hoping someone might port it to the Nook Color.
If you need any testing or help I would be willing.
:good:
I am going to for sure try this later today after I am done taking the kids to their stuff!
Just picked an extra sdcard to try this on. Cant wait.

Yeah, that seems to be about the size of it. I used non-opengl, which I suppose I will add to the OP. But it will have whatever limitations CM9 has, in the best case.
Maybe I should give it a try lol.
Eyeballer let me try an early version of this rom on a verygreen SD install. It works great on the SD. There are a couple of precautions I would point out.
If you set your systemui to phone mode, it will not by default show the soft navigation keys. There is a setting in settings that let you turn those on. It is off by default.
Second, the settings for the paranoid setup is stored in a file called pad.prop in /system. With the SD install, that file gets overwritten on installing an updated rom. I recommend that SD install users back up that file before updating the paranoidandroid rom. For SD installs just rename to .bak and after flashing, delete the new one and remove the .bak on the original. Eyeballer said he would try to fix that issue for emmc installs in the next version, but that will not help SD install users.
With this rom you can set YouTube to display in phone GUI and all HD videos will play in HQ. You can also set it for standard tablet dpi and the videos look great. In the tablet GUI of YouTube, HD videos try to play in HD and fail. And the only other choice is standard, which look horrible.
YES! This just made my day. Trying it now...

Oh, I like this ROM! In particular I like the ability to set each app to it's own settings. Some apps work good in tablet ui even if systemui is in phone ui. And vice-versa. This is a winner.

I was specifically thinking of you when I was working on it, and all the hoops you had to jump through to be able to choose your own GUI.
Let me know what you think after you've played with it a while.
And thanks, computerist, for your in-depth feedback. We will definitely see what we can do.
thanks for this.. will be flashing it soon once i get some time off from work!
This for me is the best of both worlds. One of the reasons that I wanted to change dpi way back was because of the tiny fonts on the tablet GUI at 160 dpi. And changing that put you in phone GUI. Now you can set your dpi to whatever you want and choose the GUI you want. Not only that but you can change an individual app to behave like you want with a custom dpi that makes the fonts for that app just the size you want them. You can customize your entire system.
I'm never going back to ordinary cm9 again. So I encourage you guys to keep up the good work. I think everyone will love it once they understand what it can do.

Just some clarifications
Hi guys. First of all I want to say kudos on a job well done to the team that came up with this.
I am very new to the rooting and Android scene in general. But I have rooted/nooted my Nook Color with Cyanogen Mod 7. What I'd like to know is what do I need to do to go from CM7 to having ParanoidAndroid on my Nook and what will I not be able to do that I can do on CM7? (Which is Gingerbread?). I apologize if answers to thse questions are already available. Thanks again!

The normal steps for flashing any ROM. Assuming you have it all installed on emmc:
-Download ROM and appropriate Gapps and place on SD card
-Boot into Clockwork Recovery
-Create a backup of current setup
-Wipe current setup
-Flash new ROM/install from SD
-Flash Gapps
If you run on SD I couldn't tell you as I haven't done that in ages, but I don't think the setup process for SD varies much from ROM to ROM.
It is working well
Thanks to the devs for all the hard work. I installed this yesterday and I couldn't be more pleased. It allowed me to fix a few things that bothered me with CM9. Now it works like I want.
Thanks.

Enjoy yourself and post any questions!

You may be asking yourself, "What makes this CM9 rom stand out from any other?"
Well, the feature list includes:
1) The new CM10 Boot animation
2) A newer kernel, UBERKERNEL ( Thanks to dmeadows013) which:
- Makes it much more snappier due to having Linaro optimizations.
- newer 3.0.42 kernel
- and most importantly..... CAMCORDER!
I will include cherry-picks and newer features in future builds
DISCLAIMER: Me, Dmeadows, and Chad are not responsible for bricking your phone, starting thermonuclear war, your phone exploding or any other possible (or impossible) side effects
NOTE: Mount Points are different in AOSP based roms. EMMC is the Internal SD and SD Card is the External SD!!!
BUGLIST:
- Runs a stock, 3.0.16 kernel. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH UBERKERNEL!! YOU WILL NOT BOOT!
- Bluetooth for voice is a no-go
- some people report hearing themselves in-call
- You Tell Me!
TIPS:
- upon first boot, hit the microphone icon in the Google Search box, check the Use Always box on the Bottom, and hit "Google" NOT "Voice Search"
- To reduce lag and speed up keyboard, go into Settings, scroll down and click Developer Options. Scroll down and check "Force GPU Rendering"
- Install a sexy theme from the Play Store and apply in Settings under Themes. I recommend any themes by Nitroz or Hoolm.
- Apply who MIKE D's new wallpaper
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.) Make a Nandroid Backup
2.) Are you sure you made a Backup? Good!
3.) wipe all user data, cache and dalvik cache
4.) Flash the rom
5.) Flash the Gapps
6.) ...
7.) Apply who MIKE D's sexy wallpaper http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31366149&postcount=630

Nice.
So this is probably a good place to mention the lack of battery stats and a fairly high drain rate when idle. As mentioned in antp121's thread, I've been having these issues, and they seemed to appear when I flashed the 9/10 build of 'le n00b', but both were fine on the 9/4 build. Perhaps it's an unintended effect of one or more of the changes during that time?
S-OFF
HBOOT 2.27
global firmware
0801r, 0803r radios
Thanks again to all the devs, I really appreciate your work and me being able to use AOSP/CM!

I think some pmem fixes were merge between then and the next set of builds. I know Chad did something to fix the residual flickers.

A few questions. Is there a way to turn off the leds for the soft buttons, the red leds got old fast? I get a fc when I try to change the messaging app icon for the lock screen shortcut, is there a workaround? Is there a workaround for the torch app?

s-on boot.img fail
Hi guys,
Having a hard time getting onto one of the cm9 builds. Im trying to run le noob and am on latest ics firmware from android police, came from viper rez 1.0.3, did a factory reset, wiped data, system, cache and dalvik cache. flashed the rom, then went to bootloader and flashed the ph98img.zip that was in the lenood topic on page 91 but it gets stuck on parsing and timeout eventually. I also tried once with rom, gapps, then bootloader but same thing. I checked the md5 on the downloads but am stuck on this one. My bootloader I cant recall because im currently reinstalling my backup but was I think the newest one. It displayed radios and such
Any ideas? Aside from going s-off?
Thanks
edit:
Same thing happened when I tried installing the untouched rom on post 1 and the s-on patch on that post as well...
I have seen a lot of people with the parsing issue.
Maybe a bad PH98IMG?
Any s-on people who successfully flashed this ROM?

Flashing instructions are described in the website, but here is the summary, flash in the following order
1) Device.zip
2) slim gapps ( from downloads/addons)
3) any other addons ( from downloads/addons)
Note: this has the mem fix and the latest blobs from cm10/espen. don't flash another kernel. this has Cm10 kernel compiled from source and fluxxi recovery i am fond of.
Edit 1: on 2.6, for GPS fix.
go to Settings, ota, 2.6 fixes, you should see a GPS fix, d/l it and it should auto reboot to recovery. Flash the file from /sdcard/updateme/cm_fluxi_note.zip. GPS should work. Chas tested it and seems to work for him. I was missing an init.gps.rc in ramdisk.
FAQ
Q: I'm currently running xyz kernel. Can I flash this Rom safely?
A: Go here to find out.
_________________________________________
Q: How do I flash this?
A: This is how.
_________________________________________
Q: After flashing the Rom and Gapps I get bootloop / after changing the DPI I get bootlop?
A: Just press and hold power button. After a reboot or two you'll get to homescreen, no reason to worry.
_________________________________________
Q: Recovery aborts flashing Rom or Gapps or kernel and displays error code "status 7"?
A: You most probably have a bad download. Redownload Rom/Gapps/kernel, check MD5 and try again.
_________________________________________
Q: Flash went through OK, but now I can't sync calendar/contacts/Gmail, there's no option to setup my
Google account, Playstore won't start, where is my Picassa...?
A: You either forgot to flash Gapps, or had a bad Gapps zip (if you had flashed it).
_________________________________________
Q: Playstore says I have no apps, and I purchased them ages ago, or claims that my apps are incompatible
with the Note...?
A: Go here to find the solution to your problems.
_________________________________________
Q: Can I flash some other kernel on this Rom?
A: You can, but if something goes wrong don't post your problems here. Go to the kernel thread instead.
_________________________________________
Q: A system app keeps FCing. What can I do?
A: Go to Settings/apps and clear the app's cache and data, reboot. If that doesn't help, try to dirty reflash the Rom (just wipe cache and dalvik).
_________________________________________
Q: How do I change my DPI?
A: 1) Go to Settings/Developer options/LCD Density, set DPI you prefer and reboot. Or
2) download Rom Toolbox from Playstore, tap build.prop editor, find ro.sf.lcd.density and enter
the value you want. Reboot. Or
3) edit build.prop manually, reboot.
4) DO NOT USE ANY OTHER DPI CHANGING APPS BECAUSE YOUR ROM WILL NOT BOOT.
Note's default DPI is 320; you can go as low as 160 to get more screen real estate. Any DPI between 178
and 320 will leave you in phone mode (status/navigation bar at the top of the screen, no softkeys);
between 160 and 177 you are in tablet mode (softkeys, status/navigation bar at the bottom).
_________________________________________
Q: I have a battery drain, help!
A: Do not post about it in this thread - it is not Rom related. Download and install BetterBatteryStats and go here
for instructions and help.
_________________________________________
Q: Do I need to flash Gapps every time there's a Slim Bean Rom update?
A: No. Here's why.
Code:
Backup tool incorporated, Read Carefully -> Huge Thanks to gmillz
( only guaranteed to work on our gapps and addons,
if you flash another gapps etc you are on your own), similar to CM. for 2.7, MUST RE-DOWNLOAD
slim_gapps and all addons you use. When 2.7 is released, do the following
Flash Device 2.7.0.zip, then flash the NEW slim_gapps and any other addon you use/want.
From the next release on, wipe cache/dalvik cache, Just flash device zip, rest should remain intact.
NOTE: If you for a format /system in recovery, you will lose all backups and have to reflash all
addons again.
_________________________________________
Q: Where are S-pen gestures and S-apps?
A: They require TouchWiz framework to work, so you will not find them here. There are alternatives to
S-apps in Playstore, but S-gestures can be found only in TW-based Roms.

Right now, i doubt any custom kernels work unless they were quick to incorporate the new mali changes from cm10.

You cannot use any kernel besides the one included in the Rom for now; it's the same situation as with the latest CM10 nightly and mali merges.

on a side note, before the new mali drivers, did the kernels like hydra, Ani, or Loki support this feature..

Don't know about Loki, but I think that neither HC nor Ani supported it. Not entirely sure about that, though.
Is there any way to get Russian on this Rom? Will it come if I flash slim gapps? It might be in addons, but I don't know which to flash...

I'm afraid not. There is Additional Language Fonts zip at unsupported addons at http://slimroms.net/ , but the description of the file states "for text only, not system language".
It appears that the only supported languages for now are English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

I am not including the hboot and I do not recomend you update it as of yet either as it will prevent you from reverting to previous ROM versions.
Out of alpha and into Beta, xposed installer and sense5 toolbox included in mods install in aroma. Please do not ask for RUU downloads and don't ask for updates it is likely this will not have any major changes until the RUU is made public. I will keep you posted as progress continues.
Supports xPosed Framework Check it out HERE
I recommend installing the Sense5 Toolbox module as it provides the most comprehensive set of tweaks available

Google Services Framework Fix (step by step instructions)This will fix Play Store issuesMAKE A NAND BACKUP OF YOUR NON WORKING ROM
Code:
STEP 1: Restore a working backup (one you know play store worked on)
STEP 2: Download a windows android file browser (I recommend Android Comander)
STEP 3: Connect your device to your PC, Open the android file browser
STEP 4: Browse to /data/data and locate "com.google.android.gsf"
STEP 5: Copy the folder from STEP 4 to your sdcard (remember this location)
STEP 6: Restore your non working ROM from in recovery, Reboot
STEP 7: using a root explorer (or the windows android browser) locate the folder from STEP 5
STEP 8: Copy the folder from STEP 5 into /data/data make sure you choose to overwrite the folder and files
STEP 9: Reboot (You must reboot first, do not immediately try to open play store)
STEP 10: Once rebooted test Play Store, Google Plus and Hangouts all should work fine.
I realize this seems like a daunting task just to fix the Play Store,
but there is no easier way at this point to accomplish this the Google account MUST exist before restoring this folder
in order for the fix to work.

Everything appears to be working great, though I am still on the new Hboot, so it's more likely to work fine. :silly: I'm running it with the stock kernel, but what are the benefits of an unsecured boot.img?

Insecure boot image lets you use adb remount, and adb push or adb pull etc. to /system and its contents.
also the included boot image has init.d support, sdcard performance tweaks and evitareul_common tweaks. so you will get better performance when streaming large video files or playing music from your /data/media folder
great but 1 bug
Flashed the rom and everything is working, except Google search. Every time I use voice search I get Google search has stopped. Super smooth though. Great work.

PLEASE BE AWARE-- THIS ROM IS NOT BASED ON OFFICIAL SAMSUNG FILES, IT IS BASED ON A RUNNING CM11 CYANOGENMOD SYSTEM.
AND WHILE THIS IS VERY GOOD, CM11 IS NOT 100% READY FOR OUR DEVICES, ALSO ANY SAMSUNG SPECIFIC FEATURES (MULTIWINDOW, PEN WINDOW, SHEALTH, ect) WILL NOT WORK (THOUGH I WILL ATTEMPT TO INCLUDE ALTERNATES), AND WHILE IT IS PRETTY STABLE, AT THIS TIME THERE WILL BE SOME MINOR BUGS. AS CM11 CHANGES THOSE WILL BE REDUCED. IF YOU NEED ABSOLUTE STABILITY AND EXCELLENT BATTERY LIFE PLEASE USE A TOUCHWIZ ROM BASED ON THE OFFICIAL mj4 UPDATE>
for a slightly better look at what touchwiz is vs what cm11 (aosp) is check out a few of these links.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48773400&postcount=2
http://www.androidauthority.com/touchwiz-better-than-stock-android-215634/
I AM NOT TRYING TO SAY cm11 ISNT VERY GOOD. I LIKE IT QUITE A BIT.
or i wouldnt have gone through the effort of making this.
just that touchwiz is more than the launcher it is actually a whole set of files built directly into the system specifically designed for our devices.
MANY of the apps that come stock on the note 3 rely on these files to function.
and no its not as easy as just copying them over to cm11 based roms.
CM11 is more of a vanilla android experience (with some mods)
PLEASE READ POST #3 CAREFULLY.
THE INSTALL PROCEDURE FOR THIS ROM MAY BE A BIT DIFFERENT THEN WHAT YOU'RE USED TO.
MY TOUCHWIZ BASED ROMS
**BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MININ3.MINIMUS FOR A FULLY DEBLOATED, MORE STOCK EXPERIENCE**
**BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MININ3.MAXIMUS FOR A TOUCHWIZ BASED EXTREMELY STABLE CUSTOM EXPERIENCE**

NO KERNEL INCLUDED>
MUST INSTALL OVER A CM11 BASED BUILD
which will have the kernel and a full system this rom only changes and adds features for cm11 builds
STEP ONE:
install a cm11 build tested over this one here...
thank @noobnl for his hard work bringing us a working cm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2599669
i used:NEW NEW NEW BUILD from that thread.
there is now an official build page for the note 3 cm builds here.
latest official builds can be found here
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hltespr
Reports are it also works very well with VANIR based roms
http://www.emccann.net/nuclearmistake/VanirAOSPNightlies/hltespr/
STEP TWO GET THIS FILE:
DOWNLOAD
VERSION 1.0 ALPHA SOME MINOR BUGS (CM11 is not 100% yet)
(if downloading from phone gives a bin file download with a pc, should be.zip)
INCLUDES ALL NECESSARY GAPPS AND OTHER NEEDED FILES!
Built on top of cm11 for multiple reasons, (my upload bandwith is horrible right now, cm11 is getting constant updates, this will make things easier on me at least until everything gets worked out) (should also work UNTESTED on other cm11 builds/roms for the sprint note 3)
Install instructions
FOR THIS VERSION AT THE MOMENT CWM RECOVERY IS NOT SUPPORTED
cwm lacks the fix permissions script needed to ensure certain data settings remain intact
future versions will improve on this, however for now use TWRP
Install notes for test version 1 (this will change dramatically with upcomming versions)
FIRST (ESPECIALLY IF COMING FROM 4.3)
wipe everything in recovery except internal and external sd
(wipe>advanced)
reboot into recovery (IMPORTANT)
then install from there.
install cm11 first
boot to system
This is an update add on to cm11 based roms
flash update reboot (to write data to system)
flash update again, fix permissions, (edits data after a boot)
reboot
(i have been working on a much improved install procedure that should ensure a one step install,
the reason for editing data is to pre-set some app settings
without having to edit individual apk files, this increases
compatibility and ensures things still work as intended as apps get updated)
open pie control give admin
open wanam press update install (to force admin)
will need to open a few other apps also will list as found
future versions should take care of this automagically.
can use hide apps to hide unwanted apps from the launcher (this will also be preset in the future)
i usually use it to hide all the wanam modules and not the xposed installer.
then use xposed installer , modules to edit settings as needed.
also can hide anything else you want to leave installed but not see.
these apps may need root enabled (just open and try and change something) should prompt..
Xposed installer
Pie control
startup manager (if wanted)
texdroider dpi (if wanted)
file manager
xhalo floating windows (wanam module)
app hider (to hide apps optional)
also there are some included themes under the settings menu themes.
ignore the warning and just press apply, (stock cm11, blackout, twstyle)
may also want to uncheck and recheck all the wanam modules and reboot after to be sure they all actually get set.
ADVANCED USERS/USERS WANTING TO USE THIS ON TOP OF ANOTHER CM11 BUILD
STILL READ ABOVE NOTES>
Dirty flash on top of any running cm11 system should be fine (unconfirmed)
NOT WIPING DATA SHOULD BE FINE ALSO IF YOU ARE ALREADY ON A 4.4 BUILD.
DO THIS:
flash update reboot (to write data to system)
flash update again, fix permissions, (edits data after a boot)
reboot

I have had no issues going back to 4.3
both by install of a mj4 rom or by recovering a backup,
though i do recommend ..
wipe everything but internal and external sd
reboot recovery
then install whatever you want from there.
upload almost done...
everyone who posts in this thread by the time it finishes will get a test link by pm
everyone on the minin3 project test group will also get an email.
once some confirmation of no horrible issues will also post public download
file done pms and emails coming
