chasmodo is the beta for this and will be answering most of the qns here.
Flashing instructions are described in the website, but here is the summary, flash in the following order
1) Device.zip
2) slim gapps ( from downloads/addons)
3) any other addons ( from downloads/addons)
Note: this has the mem fix and the latest blobs from cm10/espen. don't flash another kernel. this has Cm10 kernel compiled from source and fluxxi recovery i am fond of.
Edit 1: on 2.6, for GPS fix.
go to Settings, ota, 2.6 fixes, you should see a GPS fix, d/l it and it should auto reboot to recovery. Flash the file from /sdcard/updateme/cm_fluxi_note.zip. GPS should work. Chas tested it and seems to work for him. I was missing an init.gps.rc in ramdisk.

FAQ
Q: I'm currently running xyz kernel. Can I flash this Rom safely?
A: Go here to find out.
_________________________________________
Q: How do I flash this?
A: This is how.
_________________________________________
Q: After flashing the Rom and Gapps I get bootloop / after changing the DPI I get bootlop?
A: Just press and hold power button. After a reboot or two you'll get to homescreen, no reason to worry.
_________________________________________
Q: Recovery aborts flashing Rom or Gapps or kernel and displays error code "status 7"?
A: You most probably have a bad download. Redownload Rom/Gapps/kernel, check MD5 and try again.
_________________________________________
Q: Flash went through OK, but now I can't sync calendar/contacts/Gmail, there's no option to setup my
Google account, Playstore won't start, where is my Picassa...?
A: You either forgot to flash Gapps, or had a bad Gapps zip (if you had flashed it).
_________________________________________
Q: Playstore says I have no apps, and I purchased them ages ago, or claims that my apps are incompatible
with the Note...?
A: Go here to find the solution to your problems.
_________________________________________
Q: Can I flash some other kernel on this Rom?
A: You can, but if something goes wrong don't post your problems here. Go to the kernel thread instead.
_________________________________________
Q: A system app keeps FCing. What can I do?
A: Go to Settings/apps and clear the app's cache and data, reboot. If that doesn't help, try to dirty reflash the Rom (just wipe cache and dalvik).
_________________________________________
Q: How do I change my DPI?
A: 1) Go to Settings/Developer options/LCD Density, set DPI you prefer and reboot. Or
2) download Rom Toolbox from Playstore, tap build.prop editor, find ro.sf.lcd.density and enter
the value you want. Reboot. Or
3) edit build.prop manually, reboot.
4) DO NOT USE ANY OTHER DPI CHANGING APPS BECAUSE YOUR ROM WILL NOT BOOT.
Note's default DPI is 320; you can go as low as 160 to get more screen real estate. Any DPI between 178
and 320 will leave you in phone mode (status/navigation bar at the top of the screen, no softkeys);
between 160 and 177 you are in tablet mode (softkeys, status/navigation bar at the bottom).
_________________________________________
Q: I have a battery drain, help!
A: Do not post about it in this thread - it is not Rom related. Download and install BetterBatteryStats and go here
for instructions and help.
_________________________________________
Q: Do I need to flash Gapps every time there's a Slim Bean Rom update?
A: No. Here's why.
Code:
Backup tool incorporated, Read Carefully -> Huge Thanks to gmillz
( only guaranteed to work on our gapps and addons,
if you flash another gapps etc you are on your own), similar to CM. for 2.7, MUST RE-DOWNLOAD
slim_gapps and all addons you use. When 2.7 is released, do the following
Flash Device 2.7.0.zip, then flash the NEW slim_gapps and any other addon you use/want.
From the next release on, wipe cache/dalvik cache, Just flash device zip, rest should remain intact.
NOTE: If you for a format /system in recovery, you will lose all backups and have to reflash all
addons again.
_________________________________________
Q: Where are S-pen gestures and S-apps?
A: They require TouchWiz framework to work, so you will not find them here. There are alternatives to
S-apps in Playstore, but S-gestures can be found only in TW-based Roms.

Well, i had it built last night, but didn't want to release until some one tested it properly. chas did and here it is.

Wow Chas... Will surely give it a spin

nice

Was going through the changelog.. saw a feature Fast Charge Toggle..
Can you list a couple of kernel where this is supported.. (I guess its kernel dependent)

Right now, i doubt any custom kernels work unless they were quick to incorporate the new mali changes from cm10.

You cannot use any kernel besides the one included in the Rom for now; it's the same situation as with the latest CM10 nightly and mali merges.

Thanks..
on a side note, before the new mali drivers, did the kernels like hydra, Ani, or Loki support this feature..

Don't know about Loki, but I think that neither HC nor Ani supported it. Not entirely sure about that, though.

Is there any way to get Russian on this Rom? Will it come if I flash slim gapps? It might be in addons, but I don't know which to flash...

I'm afraid not. There is Additional Language Fonts zip at unsupported addons at http://slimroms.net/ , but the description of the file states "for text only, not system language".
It appears that the only supported languages for now are English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

[ROM][SAMMY-ICS 4.0.3]MJ ROM-version 1.3[XWLP7_XENLP3][16.04.2012]

Greetings!
I have decide long enough and here i am, trying to build my own ROM and share with you guys.
I am still new in creating my ROM, yet i wanna challenge myself and try to have fun with it. To be honest, it is harder than i thought with no complete tutorial out there.
I am planning to start things slowly and learning as i go along. Thus, i start with the basic, modifying stock ROM, and de-odex them. Clear all the bloatware or what i think is not necessary.
Please take note this is just a trial. If you are interested, do try out, and let me know how or where i can improve. I am noob, please don't flame me.
Current Release
MJ ROM: Trial Version 1.3 - 16.04.2012
Firmware: I9100XWLP7
CSC: XENLP3
Kernel: current LATEST Siyah Kernel v3.1rc4 (dual boot supported )
Coming Soon:
add in call recording feature
add in toggle bar - Postpone! Seems like Lidroid method will supercede my translucent status bar.will fine other method to make both thing works.
planning to switch launcher, as i am not too fond with Apex (suggestion please)
create my own logo (might take times, still figuring out)
Beats audio, anyone? (some claim it doens't work, does it? )

Bugs:
Not everything is perfect, though i expected a perfect ROM to ease everyone. However, there are some minor bug i encounter. Not a big deal.
- Keyboard not poping up at the initial setup the ownership of the phone
solution: i realise it takes time for the ROM to load up the keyboard (maybe due to language change from netherland to english - united state issue). what i do is, i just press back and forward few time, and the keyboard will initially pop up. don't worry, it just happen the very first time android setup. no more issues after that.
- Messaging app cannot use
solution: i suspect this is Apex Launcher issues. just delete the dock bar Messaging shortcut. Drag and put the new Messaging app from app drawer and you are good to go.

thanks man! btw, is it legal to use theme provide here? can i use the mod they provide here? i scare i violate the rules or whatever copyright thingy.
U can use themes, apps and other mods from developers just ask their permission first and credit them in your op.
About supersu, you need to install(push) binary for it to work. Think it's binary is a xbin file, but not sure ask in chainfire thread.
anyways good luck with your project

thanks for your hints and advise. really appreciate it.
edit: i think i found the reason on why my custom ROM is not rooted. it seems like i am using stock ROM unrooted, that's why it is not rooted. base on my research, i just have to flash the stock ROM, root it, flash kernel and old bootloader. back up, and start cooking afterward. correct me if i am wrong.
anyway, gonna try it tomorrow. used almost full day in trial and error, at least i can flash and run my first trial.

Enjoy yourself and post any questions!

You may be asking yourself, "What makes this CM9 rom stand out from any other?"
Well, the feature list includes:
1) The new CM10 Boot animation
2) A newer kernel, UBERKERNEL ( Thanks to dmeadows013) which:
- Makes it much more snappier due to having Linaro optimizations.
- newer 3.0.42 kernel
- and most importantly..... CAMCORDER!
I will include cherry-picks and newer features in future builds
DISCLAIMER: Me, Dmeadows, and Chad are not responsible for bricking your phone, starting thermonuclear war, your phone exploding or any other possible (or impossible) side effects
NOTE: Mount Points are different in AOSP based roms. EMMC is the Internal SD and SD Card is the External SD!!!
BUGLIST:
- Runs a stock, 3.0.16 kernel. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH UBERKERNEL!! YOU WILL NOT BOOT!
- Bluetooth for voice is a no-go
- some people report hearing themselves in-call
- You Tell Me!
TIPS:
- upon first boot, hit the microphone icon in the Google Search box, check the Use Always box on the Bottom, and hit "Google" NOT "Voice Search"
- To reduce lag and speed up keyboard, go into Settings, scroll down and click Developer Options. Scroll down and check "Force GPU Rendering"
- Install a sexy theme from the Play Store and apply in Settings under Themes. I recommend any themes by Nitroz or Hoolm.
- Apply who MIKE D's new wallpaper

Nice.
So this is probably a good place to mention the lack of battery stats and a fairly high drain rate when idle. As mentioned in antp121's thread, I've been having these issues, and they seemed to appear when I flashed the 9/10 build of 'le n00b', but both were fine on the 9/4 build. Perhaps it's an unintended effect of one or more of the changes during that time?

So this is probably a good place to mention the lack of battery stats and a fairly high drain rate when idle. As mentioned in antp121's thread, I've been having these issues, and they seemed to appear when I flashed the 9/10 build of 'le n00b', but both were fine on the 9/4 build. Perhaps it's an unintended effect of one or more of the changes during that time?

I think some pmem fixes were merge between then and the next set of builds. I know Chad did something to fix the residual flickers.

A few questions. Is there a way to turn off the leds for the soft buttons, the red leds got old fast? I get a fc when I try to change the messaging app icon for the lock screen shortcut, is there a workaround? Is there a workaround for the torch app?

s-on boot.img fail
Hi guys,
Having a hard time getting onto one of the cm9 builds. Im trying to run le noob and am on latest ics firmware from android police, came from viper rez 1.0.3, did a factory reset, wiped data, system, cache and dalvik cache. flashed the rom, then went to bootloader and flashed the ph98img.zip that was in the lenood topic on page 91 but it gets stuck on parsing and timeout eventually. I also tried once with rom, gapps, then bootloader but same thing. I checked the md5 on the downloads but am stuck on this one. My bootloader I cant recall because im currently reinstalling my backup but was I think the newest one. It displayed radios and such
Any ideas? Aside from going s-off?
Thanks
edit:
Same thing happened when I tried installing the untouched rom on post 1 and the s-on patch on that post as well...
I have seen a lot of people with the parsing issue.
Maybe a bad PH98IMG?
Any s-on people who successfully flashed this ROM?

Instructions for installation:
Download firmware file, and install via HBOOT or fastboot. This will update your HBOOT (2.10) your radio (1.13.11.1105), and some other important firmware bits. Make sure you remove or rename any PJ75IMG files from your external SD card after this step.
Download recovery file (TWRP 2.6.3.1b) and flash via fastboot. This version of TWRP has been modified to accommodate the updated partition layout for this update.
Download ROM (either version), and flash via TWRP. If the TWRP gives an error and reboots, hold the volume down button to get back to the bootloader, boot back into recovery, and flash again. It *should* flash fine on the second attempt.

So I pulled the feature list directly from the lead developer's thread with the assumption that he had kept up the feature list...appears he doesnt keep his thread up.

So I will edit out all the features from the OP and instead just put a link to the kitkat changelog.
Copy that, but I don't see why DPI settings aren't working. Xposed is there, as well as app settings, so it should work.
I installed and enabled, then rebooted.
I'll keep trying.

[ROM][LP] [5.1.1-r4][Unofficial] PACMAN rom [2015-07-04]

Hello everybody,
I've just compiled PACMAN-ROM for my new Z3C. Current version is PAC-LP MR1 Beta2.
Device trees are CyanogenMod's so probably all device specific CM-bugs will be there too.
The boot.img inside the zip contains CM 12.1 kernel and "Cyanogen Recovery" (no backup right now!).
For alternative recoveries/kernels scroll down to "TESTED - WORKING"...
If the rom is stable for daily use (as I hope) I'm gonna build newer version periodically (depending on PAC & CM updates).

Flash it before or after installing the PACROM zip. It contains the zip's
kernel + DualRecovery. Installing the rom zip will overwrite recovery again
so for backups it might be necessary
to flash it always before installing a new zip, e.g.
2015-04-29:
- Screenshots
- Yes! I got it running. After some hours of use, it seems really smooth & snappy. No reboots.
- How I installed everything: Root on Kitkat stock rom, backup TA-partition, install
Dual-recovery, update to Lollipop rooted, make nandroid backup of hole system,
unlock bootloader, flash PACMAN boot.img, wipe data/caches,
flash PACMAN zip + GAPPS ... quite some hours of work.
TESTED - WORKING:
- 2G, 3G, 4G
- wifi, wifi hotspot
- bluetooth audio
- nfc
- usb otg
- GAPPS (mentioned below)
- titanium backup
- PAC customizations (not all tested)
- video playback on youtube, vlc, mxplayer
- camera & video recording
- GPS using Google Maps
- headphone sound
- XZDR recovery (version 2.8.15 not working): http://nut.xperia-files.com/
- FOTA TWRP recovery (persistent in fota kernel partition): http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...12-nightly-t3010550/post58854063#post58854063
- M5 kernel (CM12.1 based): http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/orig-development/kernel-m5-kernel-t3115498
BUGS:
- phone call volume loud / not reducable in dialer app. (skype & whatsapp calls are alright) solved on 150512
- If alarm clock is set active -> reboot leads to normal shutdown -> deactivate alarm for that case
- photo: Little fish-eye effect on short distance (it's not that little actually)
NOT TESTED YET:
- encryption
Installation notes: Unlocked bootloader required
- flash boot.img (rashr on phone/ fastboot on pc), then boot into custom recovery
- wipe cache, wipe art/dalvik cache
- when coming from a different rom wipe data (factory reset)
- when changing between different gapps packages format system may be useful
- flash rom zip
- if needed flash gapps zip

Just flash it before or after installing the PACROM zip. It contains the original kernel + DualRecovery. CyanogenRecovery really sucks, not even a way to make backups. Now we can
does this have a camera fix included, or does that need to be flashed separately? I don't have a backed up TA partition, so I rely on the fix for image processing (like many others on here, I'm sure).
thanks in advance and nice to see the ROM!

there's nothing like this included. as far as i know custom roms/ custom kernels can't handle drm keys from TA partition. not sure about flashable drm replacement, i don't think it will work, but maybe it does
perhaps someone knows more about this sony image processing stuff.
isn't that all software based? if so, i could imagine that a good camera app (FV-5 or something like) can bring the same results.
Great work mate. Been running a few hours with the updated boot.img
Hopefully there is no "memory leak"

That fix is only useful on stock Sony based rom's.
bugs update
(1) i found a small, almost funny bug. couldn't reboot to recovery today because phone always ended with shutdown. i desperately flashed the boot.img again but no change. only after deactivating everything i thought not being active at installation the problem disappeared.
well, it's the active alarm, that i use every morning ...
(2) in call volume issue seem's to be somewhere hidden in android_device_sony_z3c/audio/mixer_paths.xml of the repo. just in case someone likes to search
I have noticed a small bug, could be just me though. When rebooting while plugged in to the USB charger it goes as far as the Sony logo then freezes until I unplug it. How would I go about submitting a bug report for it?

Hi, thank's for that! I've just reproduced what you wrote. On my phone this is also connected to active alarm clock. It's rebooting fine when alarm is off. So, quite the same as my last post.
I have no suggestion about real bug reports, because of 2 reasons: this is an unofficial build, primarily for myself ... but shared. I would stop building if Z3C would get official PAC support. And I've just started building roms 2 months ago. So, I'm not having the skills (yet) for advanced debugging. Right now it's more like being voluntary apprentice  ... I'm gonna add your input it into 1st post.
For now stability of this rom is mainly dependent on PACROM itself and official CM support.
Im glad you could reproduce the same bug. I think you have done a great job mate. I'm loving this ROM and appreciate your efforts. I'm trying to figure the dev side of things myself, not having much luck yet.

Good job, m8!
Can someone post a picture, taken by camera on this phone with this rom ?
A picture of a door , or a wall, for example. Any picture featuring a rectangular shape with straight lines.
I had a broblem be4 on CM12 @z3c , the camera ( any camera app ) took pictures, distorting proportions, like there was a fisheye filter applied

Machao44(the original dev) has now created the XDA thread over here, head here instead of this link, use this thread only if you want to use the older versions of the ROMs or some fixes:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/rom-los-xperia-ui-z3c-t3654894
It has the stock Sony Nougat theme and apps found on Xperia XZ Premium,XZs,Xperia L1 and so on.
Also includes the stock Sony camera app with 4K 60FPS recording support,AR effect etc.
Usually the ROM itself is very fast and it is good as a daily driver.
You can download Xposed for this ROM as an addon, but not sure how stable it is.
Install guide:
NOTE: If you are coming from Concept ROM,it is NECESSARY to flash back to stock MM,or you will have a bootloop or the ROM will just fail to install.
1. Download the ROM from here:
https://mega.nz/#F!ZgAhhJLI!PvIf-ZLY0Ihs6fY-8c6SBA (link from Machao44's thread)
2. Download SuperSU or Magisk, both do work(they are not included in ROM zip)
3. Download & install TWRP recovery found on the Lineage thread(if you don't know how to install go to @tomascus's thread and read the second post where the install guide is)
4. Install the zip and start Aroma
5. Select the apps and features you need
6. Once it's done, flash any additional zips and reboot.
NOTE 2: Recovery might get removed after you flash the ROM(if you flash unmodified versions of ROMs),so you need to re-flash through fastboot.
For custom kernels,as reported for now Kernel12 version 11 works fine with this ROM,if you want to try something else then try to flash it and report back if it works, since I believe that not all custom kernels for LineageOS do work.
If Wi-Fi has very weak signal or it doesn't work at all, download and flash this zip:
https://mega.nz/#!hh8m3aIb!z1X66R8uK8BrG9g853lvDtkDiMdTAl7wbACGyXNxwjo
If you have issues with Bluetooth calling, flash this zip(thanks to @jimmy123322):
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298979213
If you use M-ROM 1.2.0 or 1.2.5 you will have a brightness issue,to fix download the framework-res.apk from this post(thanks @wolfmannight):

Is this that ROM where framework etc were modded that LOS reacts like Sony stock regarding all this DRM stuff?

To be honest,I don't really know, and I believe there is no image enhancing of any sort,I wasn't really able to reach the Settings to see that.
Oops,I uploaded by accident the wrong build to MEGA,the link won't work for 45 minutes, will keep you updated.
EDIT: You can now download the ROM and try to install it.
HUGE CHANGELOG:
-First of all, when installing the ROM do not press to install Google Play services, that actually corrupts everything, will mention in it in OP
-Google Play works fine
-To answer @fluffi444 image enhancing is actually there with Sony Sound mods, but Sony themes currently doesn't work
-The ROM doesn't come with any keyboard installed,so I will include Gboard inside the ROM
-I will debloat the ROM from chinese apps
New build will be up with screenshots in the end of the night.
EDIT: Build is now up! Download it and tell me how it runs!
First of all thank you for this ROM, planning to try some day soon
How is camera quality?
Do I need to flash stock image first or can I flash directly from lineageos?

Camera quality is like in stock ROM,and it doesn't really matter what you have before installing this ROM,but it only won't work if you are now running Concept ROM,if that is the case then yes you need to flash the stock image first

SystemUI crash? Try to get a logcat and I'll look into it,while you can in that time try to re-download the ROM and try to install it again, and make sure you use TWRP from the link in the Lineage thread.
Would like it very much, but i cannot receive calls, can make phone calls though.
Second time i started fresh from stock, unlocked bootloader and fastboot flashed fotakernel twrp from lineage thread, same problem: when i call myself from another phone the screen turns white with xperia logo and the call ends.
Sorry i can't take logs (never tried actually)
Also when i reboot into recovery chinese twrp appears and i can switch only to english (needed to watch a youtube video to figure out which was the settings button). I'm quite sure it's not the one i installed (don't remember the number version).
Google play works fine: don't understand what you wrote in op about unchecking it. In the aroma you are asked to check what you don't want to be installed, and without it i wouldn't know how to do.
Well i hope to use this ROM in the future, Thank you for your efforts so far
The brightness on my screen is always high, I can't change it... The brightness is in automatic and the sensor works well

I wrote in the OP that you don't install Play because after I checked that it always crashed and dissapeared after a reboot.
For chinese TWRP,I didn't even know it was on there lol,so that's I guess another reason to flash TWRP from the Lineage thread after you flash the ROM.
For phone calls I really can't do much without logs or anything,so would highly appreciate if you try to get me a logcat of some sort, there are many guides online.
As for future plans for this ROM,I am looking to re-build it and use the latest Lineage build as base ROM to remove as much bugs as possible.

So when there is no automatic brightness enabled the brightness is always high? I couldn't really notice that the only reason being I use my phone on the highest screen brightness all the time.
How about the blouetooth and reboot bugs of the other llineageOS? If there aren't, this rom can help find this bugs!

Not sure, haven't had any random reboots tbh, even with the latest build I haven't had any random reboots nor any bluetooth issues, maybe those can apply for something else but I only use Bluetooth for connecting a Bluetooth speaker, headphones and occasionally transfering files and all of that worked.

When the automatic brightness is enabled or not, the brightness is always high, and when I use the slider for change the level of it, it doesn't change, it's always the same high brightness... I can't use it in the dark because it's so high
