[Q] HTC Camera Application on Xperia S - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi Team,
Sorry if posted I could not find it hence posting the same. i was going through the HTC One X Camera video and was amazed to see the camera application where it can take 4 fps photos and also click photos when a video is being recorded. Just wanted to know if this is achievable in the Xperia S.
If not, is there any other application which can help me to do the same. Also the feature where it can take screenshots from a video which is playing on the phone.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Will be in ICS, it's actually a Google feature.

Thanks K900,
Guess will have to wait for ICS.... was surprised to see the demonstrator stating that it is only available on the HTC One X.

HTC have put there own dedicated chip called imagesense which will be all the one series phones but only those. Any feature of that application which specifically uses that chip will be very hard to port over to any other device.
I had an aosp build of ics on my galaxy s and it had neither of those features in the default camera app

Try fast burst camera from market can take 30 pics

The response time on the XPS is nice so it allows for some nice high speed photography. ICS camera lets you shoot photos by taping on the video preview.

Thx GM007 will surely try the fast burst camera...
yes K900 i really love the camera on XPS it is amazing...
Also thanks to keithwalton for the info.

Maybe this "snap during video rec" is a quad core device characteristic...
Who knows...

Video recording in HD

Hi everybody,
Does anyone knows if there exists some apps to make movie in HD quality (720p) like for the desire????
Thank you...
That is not possible on Wildfire.
The camera isn't good enough.
Maybe is not good, but for example Nokia N5230 make a good video (640x480) with the 2MPx and Wildfire make 352x288 with the 5MPx.....Why?
When HTC updates to Froyo, camera will work at 720p

Oh really... Got any sources?
There are no sources its just a rumor.

I highly doubt it will get 720p recording anyway
Maybe VGA, but no way in hell 720p. The 528mhz processor can`t process that.

I don't think that a software can do what the hardware supose to do
Maybe the overclock might help jksss
You can record on qvga and qcif resolutions on cm6, I don't know what resolutions those are exactly

Polish support HTC confirmed this information.
An overclocked Desire with a processor twice the speed of the Wildfire struggles 720p only just getting up to 20 frames per sec.
HTC promised the earth for Froyo on the Desire as well.
If you want quality video then buy a dedicated quality video device, like a camera for instance!

Request for Camera app

I am an amateur photographer accidentally bought w8.Now that I have rooted and installed gingerxperia.i would like to have a camera app with exposure control ,white balance ,scene mode etc.I dont want paid apps of market.it would be great if somebody mod the stock camera app to include those mentioned above.the camera app of galaxy y is preferred to...
Thanks in advance...

search for free app..
exposure, white balance not work in x8..
It works in galaxy y ,why not in my w8 or x8?
The galaxy y 's camera app is in the respective forum, ain't it possible to modify it for w8/x8?

Camera Zoom FX is pretty good, it has everything you mentioned plus a photo editor. Grab it in Market here - https://market.android.com/details?id=slide.cameraZoom&hl=en
Maybe try "Nemus Camera '

You bought the worng phone, bro. Xperia X8 camera is far from a good camera today...
Maybe you should buy Xperia S, Nokia N8 or Galaxy SII, the best cameras I heard.

Agree.
There's nothing you can do about it, its the hardware. Anyways Camera Zoom FX is also a great workaround.
Thanks for your replies...
I know i have ended up with the wrong phone for a photographer...But aint it possible to mod the galaxy y camera app for our x8? It has atleast exposure control which I badly need in my W8...I dont want zoom and the likes ATLEAST JUST THE EXPOSURE CONTROL or is it that exposure control wont work with W8?
PS: Right now I am not interested in Camerazoom fx.btw I'll try the others...
I use lgCamera (see android market), its the best camera app i found.
I'm an amateur photographer too, if you have a dslr camera you will be not satisfied with any camera mobilephone out there, because there are too much pixel on a crappy small sensor. The best sensor atm is Sony Exmor R.
edit: lgCamera doesn't have exposure control.
Thanks Phil...
Yea I too use dslr, and can understand it...But even the basic camera phone s having exposure control why not in w8?
Any developer here pls mod the camera app pls...

It's just their sensor. The sensor on the XPS also seems to be capable of burst captures and stuff, but I didn't test it yet.

It's not a screenshot, it's a snapshot in the same resolution as the video is, up to 1080p. I don't think the One X does that differently.

@fata|i3y
your request similar to "can we make our screen bigger ?". our cam fps is very poor for video recording. that's hardware limitation. event if it's possible the result will be more like watching slide show than watching video.
LOL...a slow motion camera for a 2MP camera? How Many frames per sec will that be? stop dreaming man we cant do much for SGY

[Q]Xperia U camera settings

Hi, I'm really excited about this phone since i don't like big screens etc. But one thing really annoys me. I'm talking about photo quality. I'm using camera zoom fx with 2mp photo size but still the photos are blurry. Can anyone tell me best app and settings for sharp photos? Tnx
Sent from my ST25i using xda premium
3rd party apps or stock camera app nothing can do. they can only do some effects or crop etc. you must root and do some build.prop hacks.
but this way can't do high improve. its all about hardware.
Anyone have same problem? I don't know if it's this problem worth sending to service. But the photos are really disgusting...my old zte blade make ten times better photos. This Sony crap photos are full of noise and without sharp edges, everything is blurry...

Yes. I tried a lot of things today and problem is in the focus. Before the photo shoot, everything is nice and clean (outdoors) but when i hit the shoot button, i can see how the focus die a little a camera take less sharp image. Indoors is even worse

2Mpx photos looks better than 5Mpx - this is old known thing in XperiaU. 2Mpx photos are sharper. Anyway quality of camera used in Xperia U is really bad. We can't do anything with that. And many times users have problem with big pink spot at the center of picture. Camera is really bad here
Yea noticed that odd thing with 2mp better photos too. At least i don't have that pink spot. I still have hope in ics update that it'll straight it up a little, but as i read it didn't help or its even worse.

I admit that the camera is poor, even compared to my girlfriends HTC one V which has a 5mp camera, the U looks about half as good. But when I set my U at 2mp the picture is far worse than at 5mp.
I assume its a hardware issue and my software setup will have no effect but I am rooted with locked bl and st25a ics firmware.
What about video quality? Any tips for improving quality?
