What is PlAyOSP?
PlAyOSP is an AOSP ROM for the Xperia Play (hence the name) and is built on top of CyanogenMod 9. PlAyOSP has some features not yet merged into CM, and some features from AOKP such as custom operator text.
So this is CM or AOKP?
Not necessarily, it is based on CM, and is more CM than it is AOKP. The difference is, if a hacky fix is submitted to CM, it is likely not to get merged. On the other hand, I will push it to my sources until a proper fix surfaces. Please do not use the CM bug reporter for this ROM.
Why is CMStats still there?
Because this is built on CM, it is only fair not to remove it. I have left all stuff for CMStats to function correctly. Consider this a KANG.
What features have you added that are not yet merged/not available in CM?
- Enable navigation bar at runtime.
- Change Recent Apps style at runtime, choices are, Sense 4 style, stock style and WEBOS style.
- Customise the navigation bar (not yet merged into CM) - allows you to rearrange buttons on the navigation bar.
- Custom operator text - change the operator text to anything you like - reboot if it does not apply correctly
- Change navbar height and width at runtime.
- Whole framework is themed (not yet merged into CM).
More features will come as CM and AOKP are updated.
Also, please post bugs for this ROM on this thread.
General Features:
- Theme chooser - whole framework theming - you can use any CM9/AOKP themes built for the theme chooser.
- Lockscreen customisation - add/remove and change up to four lockscreen shortcuts.

Woow. Can we use Aokp Themes in this rom ?

I'm here!! Pax
Edit: Keiran, you wanna change the title to WIP for now?

oohh can't wait

Why? why people keep doing this? opening threads of roms that we will open to see and see nothing.
Recently there were two threads that even closed before they begin, opened as Placeholders, for what?
I mean no desrespect, but at leat some screen shots.
I´m really waiting for some CM9 themed (with low hope like a Sony) or anything else.

I'm confused isn't that what the aokp rom is already?
Sent from my R800i using xda premium

I'll try it! If it has good battery life and game support that is

KeiranFTW said:
PLAYOSP is a CyanogenMod 9 based ROM, with extra tweaks and customization that you won't see in official CM. Based off the CyanogenMod 9 source tree, this ROM will combine the best of both worlds with CM9 and AOKP, with other modifications added too.
Release is not yet, give me a week while I get things sorted
I'm hoping Pax will join me on this one

cool.

Nice to see you back to developing Keiran.
I take that you're doing fine in school?

Well here's the thing. People get busy. People start threads because it's in the plan to continue the work, but far as any thread Keiran has started, he keeps up on them. But if you don't want to view the thread or just want to complain, then don't bother.

This is combining cm9 also and I get a ton more of customizations. I saw a list of what's in there and it's BEYOND just aokp

Sent from R800x

i switched often between aokplay and darkforest ics, both of them are awesome, but aokplay seems to have poor battery life and i dont get any sound over bluetooth.. those killed it for me, mainly the bluetooth..
this rom seems to be like... the both of them having a baby
i hope it wont have those problems, maybe you are able to test it keiran? ^^
ill test the rom for sure
keep up the good work, your roms are awesome!

Stuff I've done so far:
New ROM Settings app for tweaking stuff I've put in.
Added ability to customize operator text ("I hate Verizon" is a recommended choice ).
Added ability to play a sound on boot.
Sense 4.0 style recent apps.
And its all on my github, I'm watching CM + AOKP frameworks/base so I can merge stuff.

Nice, keep'em coming!

Uh you can already change the operator text on AOKP.
See.
I don't see the point of this rom. Maybe I'm missing something
Sent from my Xperia Play using Tapatalk 2

He's using cm9 as a base and adding features from aokp and cm9 and other roms into one.
Do you know if your adding the psxperia framework? Or the framework it uses if it has a different name.

Hey Keiran, I got CNA up, you just wanna use that as a base?

just out of curiosity, what makes this rom different from cynogen?
I've been watching this develop over in the Fascinate General thread for a while... I'm pumped this has finally come to fruition! Great job man.
WOW r2DoesInc, good to see you guys here, Ive been runing OMFGB on my Tbolt for a week now, it freaking flies! Now I can put it on my girl's fascinate WOOTT! Thank you for your hard work.
If I wasn't heading to work in an hour I would flash this in a heart beat. I guess I'll wait until I get home to test this out. Also I'm a metro pcs user and I'm curious if this will have data. *begins full backups of everything in preparation*

Humm... I must be retarded. I cant find the download link. There is nothing in the fascinatemtd folder and there is nothing on your website.
So the download link isn't in the FascinateMTD?

It's going to be a few hours before the ROM is dropped. Read up top.
Side note: Assuming we will be going back to DL09 and doing all this crazy MTD flashing again? Hopefully there will be some instructions for those new to OMFG Roms.
Google Alps can be downloaded and flashed from the god mode appear in the rom.
Install instructions are in the second post....
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA Premium App
It's great to see this pop up in the Fascinate forums. I hope you guys keep up the dev work by taking some bug reports and sharing the device specific fixes with the rest of the crew should you come across them.
When would you suggest flashing the GAPPS? After flashing OMFGB package or after you flash the CM7 package again (post 3 finger recovery)?
edit: I'm guessing the OMFGB package means the OMFGB rom and GAPPS?

Yes. Flash it in recovery..
Is there more slim features in this build?
Sent from my AOSP on Flo using xda app-developers app
Not yet, still getting the core functions down.
new version is up guys
the launcher problems as well the keyboard popup we cannot do anything...this is a bug on googles closed sourced new launcher lol. Lets hope they will update it as well soon. You can use nova instead which is in our builds as well
about camera we need to wait for the new bloobs from google. All other would be a hackish workaround which does not make sense assuming the blobs will be released soon
there are already some slim features in last build
whatever
Fixes new version:
- added dalvik optimizations....so speed up step one
- reworked and adapted status bar clock and date customization to 4.4
- added some of our camera features (smart captchure, jpg quality, color filter, gps indicator)
- reworked the complete camera to the new google style. Google stoped it after they finished the photo camera interface lol. So all into new PIE style + some fixes + more consistent now
- added a bunch of Mms/SMS fixes
- activated on supported devices lockscreen transparency on nav and statusbar
- some stability fixes
- fixed some google 4.4 code derps
- a lot small stuff
have fun and cheers
PS. the camera features for flo of course you cannot use right now
Good work slim team. Thanks much!

Yeah. I can talk to devs on seeing we can make this AICP wide setting. If not, I can add the feature in myself to my own builds.
Any idea why when I load up brave frontier it won't get past the download screen but on any other ROM it works amazing? I heard was kernel issue so I flashed a different one same issue

Some themes like JB Extreme CM12 do change the color and some other ROMs such as Flex ROM have that feature. Hopefully AICP can get this added it as that's one of the few things I feel that's missing along with adding in more battery meter styles.
So far, so smooth
New official build came out today as well. Keeps getting better every new build. Battery stats are improving slowly as well.
Great ROM! Just wondering if anyone is having wi-fi issues with the 5ghz band. It's only seeing my 2.4ghz band.
I have started working on working adding the feature to change the status bar colors. It is going to take me a little bit of time since finals week just started for me. I have also updated the recommended gapps to CyanogenMod's 12.1 gapps. They are probably a bit more stable. Also, you can flash nighties on top of each other. If you start getting weird issues, try doing a clean wipe and then flash.
As always, if you have a requests for a feature or a bug, please let me know.

5ghz band Wifi doesn't seem to be working across most AOSP/CM12.1 based ROMs I have used so far.

Only thing I have noticed is as far as bugs is the brave frontier game when I go to download everything it stalls at around 10% tried it on data and a few different wifis and no avail the log cat I took said something kernel wise so I changed to 777 the only aosp kernel I know still didn't work
Anyone figure out how to make ad blocker stick?
g3 Camera
I assume you can't get the stock camera, but what camera do you end up with on this rom? Do you lose any features or qualiity?

Awesome! Another ROM for us. Thanks a lot.
Installed this room. It's beautiful and smooth
Awesome
I believe this has nothing to do with Team Viper?
Sweet, we've gotten two new roms in just a couple days!
Very smooth rom! So far no issues I've encountered. Thanks for sharing!
Can someone who has tried this give a little run-down of this ROM? Whats a little buggy, what isn't. It can't be too much different than the other Nougat ROMs I'm assuming.

Whatever bugs lineageOS has since it's based on lineage
Are lockscreen shortcuts planned in the future?
I just want to say thank you very much for this amazing rom, I don't think I've ever had a smoother ROM than this! Just perfect!!

What other Nougat ROMs have you tried? Can you compare at all to some others in regards to camera, bluetooth, wifi to cell data transfer, random reboots, and stuff like that? Some of us want to try this but need to know a little more. Anything you can add would be much appreciated.
testing 3 days : no random reboots, handbag kernel working perfect, snapchat works good, camera fine, sound great ( call and music ), i have no issues at the time (wifi, bluetooth, data)
One world -> great, but I waiting for quick unlock
Nice ROM, but sadly it has audio stutter e.g. when quickly scrolling google+ while listening spotify, going back to Tesla (the only rom without audio stutter) for now.
Great job..running as smooth as silk..no problems at all..thank you

If someone can please respond when quick unlock is enabled. 1st world problems but cant live without it
Just flashed this. Will report back with anything I find. Just off the bat things seem good. It probably has the least amount of extra features than any other ROM but if everything else works right, who cares. Switching from camera to camera in different apps is pretty quick. Would like to see things like double tap lockscreen to sleep, and some other QOL stuff, unless I somehow missed it. Thanks for the ROM!
Oh, and the flashlight works.
Many thanks for the ROM, it's fantastic! But I have a question: how could I improve the audio? So far it has been impossible for me to run Viper4Android ...
