ROOTING problems with ANY GB versions? My solution is here! - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hey ALL!
!!!PLEASE READ WHOLE POST, THEN YOU UNDERSTAND WHY I WAS WRITED THIS!!!
!!!IT´S LITTLE DIFFERENT THEN OTHER ROOTING THREADS, BUT IT MAY BE THE TRICK, WHAT WORKING FOR YOU!!!
Here is my solution from my experience ROOTING any GB stock version. I wanted to go back to stock GB(I was long time in CUSTOM ROM`s) any I experience big problem with ROOTING again my phone. I was not doing this the FIRST time, but I experience this kinde of problem FIRST time. Even I wiped everything several times, trying several FW(FULL PACKAGE and ONE package, with ODIN), but still cant ROOT. I was searching here in XDA all FULL day, but nothing helped(but the upd_1.zip to SD card, run it and so on). I searched second day in internet, but still nothing helped. Finally I tryed this method and it worked for me.
Here is what I was doing.
I but this ROOT.zip file to my SD card and RUN it(USE STOCK RECOVERY NOT CWM4 OR CWM5), after I was installed GB(Gingerbread) FW(FirmWare). Because if I was used CWM4 or CWM5 I cant ROOT MY PHONE. But in STOCK recovery you cant go lower from ONE(first) screen what it showing(if you push the "apply update from sdcard" button), because the Root.zip helped me. It SHOWING IN FIRST SCREEN(I have a lot of things in my SD, because the upd_1.zip not showing in the first screen and I CANT go lower in STOCK RECOVERY).
Once more I will write it down for you!!!
1) Download this Root.zip HERE(or down there in thread) to you computer.
2) But it in your phone SD card(DONT EXTRACT IT OR BUT IT IN ANY FOLDER. BUT IT IN THE ROOT OF SD CARD).
3) Run it in STOCK RECOVERY, push the "apply update from sdcard" and use the Root.zip(not CWM4 or CWM5).
4) After that REBOOT your phone and you can see SUPERUSER app in your apps list.
Thats all!
Wasnt that easy? Yes it was, but I was strugling with out it, few days.
Hope I can help someone with this tutorial.
ENJOY IT!
If you can ROOT even changeing the file name to "1" and flash it in STOCK recovery, report it in this thread and I will change the thread name and giving credits to you too for that! (because then the file showing in the first screen ALWAYS even in STOCK recovery)

Hey!
Sorry, but its your problem if you not seeing the point of that thread.
1) I very clear with my problem(I see you too, not read the whole first post).
2) It was named Root.zip(not upd_1.zip), when I was downloaded it from somewhere and def. I not downloaded it from XDA. I was searched the whole day in here too.
Dont blame me,if you dont know, that I dont used the search.
CHEERS!

upd_1.zip and root.zip, the different is just the name...
Why? Coz i rename my upd_1.zip to root.zip its easy to me to use it...
Its the same zip file...

thanks
whatever u did it worked had no joy with 1-upd or any other method on gingerbread only way was to flash a rooted kernel or custom rom first try and this worked on stock 2.3.3 great

Hey!
Thx for replay! Just wanted to know, dose you tryed to rename the zip file like "111"(for example) and if you renamed it, dose it still rooting or not(maybe the zip file depends from the name too, dont know that exactly, because I asking this)?
If its still rooting, then we all can rename the ...zip(upd_1 or Root or .....) file what ever we want(like "1.zip") and then it allways shows in the main(first) screen, even in STOCK recovery. It will be the great news then for all of us!
CHEERS!

Several methods, but if no success, then you are apparently doing something wrong. What methods, and what are you doing, exactly? Easiest method to root is to flash a CF-Root kernel. From what it looks like, you'll need the KJ3 CF-Root kernel.

You can update to ICS any time you want, and you probably should do this first before rooting, unless you want to root twice. (root once for GB, then update to ICS, then root ICS - because you will lose root once you update to ICS anyways)
Looks like you are new here, and have some reading/learning to do to figure some things out.
Start here for stickies with a wealth of information.
Really, there are no short-cuts. Short-cuts lead to missed steps. Missed steps lead to bricked phones.
As ctomgee said. Describe what you have done
Hi ! Thanks for you answers. yes Im beginner and new on the forum
Ive downloaded a BUKJ3 kernel and install it with the odin and s2root method but apparently the kernel was secured so nothing done :s Ive tried too to root it with the CMW.zip in the the sdcard and to start in recovery mode always nothing.
Ive found a method using SuperOneClickv1.9.5 but haven't tried cuz Im not sure its safe.
* I would like to update it to ICS before rooting but how ? :s

once you knew waht is Download mod and how to use Odin.....pick an official ICS rom from here and flash......means install....

hh Yes friend Im reading right now
Im just confused about some details and Im afraid to done something wrongly.
the problem is that I cant find a similar kernel of my fone. can i use any other one ?
are you willing to Root first? and searching a CF-root for that?
then pick it up : http://download.chainfire.eu/52/CF-Root/SGS2/CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEN_KJ3-v5.0-CWM5.zip
Ive downloaded it and puted it in sdcard and lunched it from recovery mode but : verification failed. have I to unzip it before copying in fone memory ?
If you can show me how to update it to ICS and root it after it would be so nice.
Thanks for your help.
LOL.......
You have to read read read read There is no substitute for READING for COMPREHENSION
Have you ever used ODIN? if not please learn it first,
the file I sent was for ODIN flash, because your phone is not rooted yet to flash zip from recovery, you have to unzip it to get a TAR file and to put in PDA section of the ODIN.
but please read more
Okay mister ahmed.

Odin flashes are in download mode, not recovery. You have a lot more reading to do.
You have the kernel needed from the link posted previously.
1. Unzip the kernel and keep the tar file.
2. Set your phone in download mode by pressing vol down + power button.
3. Run odin and connect your phone to the PC while in download mode.
4. once odin sees your phone, click PDA and link to the tar file
5. Press the magic button and that should do it really.
Here is the link that says it all:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
Hope that helps...

Root is not needed kernel is part of the firmware .
Flash a stock Samsung rom from Stock rom thread or from posted ICS roms in General via Odin .
Alternative wait for your phones upgrade via KIES or use Checkfus to download firmware .
Root is only required if you are flashing a custom firmware that requires CWM and Root and most do .

After installing kies ,,, a frimware update show up ,,
now i think its better to update the frimeware throw kies right ??
and is it possible to install ics with kies ??? or i need to flash costume kernel with CWM recovery !!

ok
personally I would look at Chainfire topic on easy rooting etc, or you could use SuperOneClickRoot & then install any number of custom roms from the I9100 android development section here at XDA

Allegedly??? LOLwut?
Read this:
In recent years it has become common for speakers to include allegedly in statements that are controversial or possibly even defamatory. The implication is that, by saying allegedly , the speaker is distancing himself or herself from the controversy and even protecting himself or herself from possible prosecution. However, the effect created may be deliberate. The use of allegedly can be a signal that, although the statement may seem outrageous, it is in fact true. Conversely, it is also possible to use allegedly as an expression of ironic scepticism.

Hi jithendra194,
if you already flashed the clockworkmode this could be the problem!
I know a friend who had to flash stockrecovery again, before rooting his device.
Rooting wasn't possible by using the clockworkmode, but with stock recovery rooting was successfully
So you can try flashing the stock recovery first (from here) and after it you should flash the upd_1.zip (from here)
Good luck

[Q] No root access after root Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100

Hello today i desided to root my Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100
I checked my kernel version which is XWLPG
Then i found in insecure kernel that should fit on this forum.
After that i took my phone enabled usb debugging.
Then i turned off my phone and started it in downloading mode.
(Volume down, Home and Power)
Then i started odin and flashed the kernel to my phone.
After that i ran S2 Root program.
Then i pressed root and everything seemed to work fine.
After reboot i got the yellow triangle and thought everything were fine.
But it proved me wrong, i tried using luckypatcher to remove some ads on a app i have, but it didnt have root access wierd
So i downloaded titanium backup from play store,
and same thing here it showed me and error that it didn't have root access.
I restarted my phone serveral times and i didnt help at all.
Then i tried doing it all over again and its THE SAME.
No matter what i do it seems that i can get my phone rooted probadly.
I can see superuser is installed but i cant find CWM.
Is there anything i can do.. ?
Ps. If you need more information just ask, i tried to be as descriping is i could be after all i am a noob and im not special, but i couldn't find anything after a search
hi
which insecure kernel u used?
and is there any superuser app in your phone?
if its not there install superuser from market and try
or else flash ch-kernel first then flash other kernels
Try flashing the insecure kernel again. Sounds like Busybox didn't get installed at all or/properly. If you used something other than a CFRoot kernel, I recommend you do this time.
This is the kernel i used if that can help you Kernel_I9100XWLPG_INSECURE
I have tried flashing it again with no luck
There is a superuser app but it dont seem to work at all..
I will try the cf now and reply back asap..
It that the same method as i already done.. ?
I don't know. Which thread did you get it from ?

Before you do anything, read the first page of the CFRoot thread thoroughly. Make sure you understand the process. And pay particular attention to the bit in bold red about a 3rd of the way down the page that says "Help ! Which file do I use ?".
That section answers the question you just asked.

i will do that.. thank you again very much..
Its really apreciated..
I will try the Cf..
But actually a question already has come up..
the kernel version i found is a zImage and not a tar and odin dont seem to recognize it
EDIT: Sorry my bad i accidently unpacked it twice.. What a noob
Yeah you don't need to unpack the tar. Looks like you got that sorted tho ;-) Let us know how you get on.
I have to be very unlucky today, the new one seems to work but now i cant connect to my wifi..
EDIT: It dont work still no root access but it seems that the programs respond better..
Can i start ALL over removing the root and start on completely original firmware..
Yes, you can. Flash a stock rom in Odin. You can either look for your firmware here, Samfirmware.com or you can get the PC version of Checkfus (search for it on here), this will enable you to download the latest firmware for your phone model/country/carrier that you'd normally get via OTA update.
Once you're back on stock/have a clean slate you can have another go at rooting your phone if you want.
It's really strange that the kernels seem to be installing OK (your phone seems to work normally) but no root access. As to why that's happening, who knows ?
Yes it really is wierd, because everything do as it should no problem..
But i think maybe the first kernel i put on ****ed everything up but thats just a guess.. So now i will find the official firmware for my phone and then i will try with cf again and report back..
Yeah that's exactly right, and yes, maybe the first kernel messed something up. Yep, back on stock, then have another go with CFRoot & hopefully that works first go this time. Bookmark this thread & post back here & let us know how you go.

hey dude before applying the official firm ware just give a try the below
1) use a kernel cleaning script to clean the kernel then try flashing the Cf root kernel back and check for ROOt if its ok then u can leave there since it saves time
2) if it doesnt wrk that way then u can flash the official firmware and then root again
Too late i already go back to original firmware. And that works like a charm i think i will have another go at cf now.. But thanks for the answer..
Maybe i will try this is its wierd again
EDIT:
It works know, i got back to stock and then i flashed the cf kernel.. And now everything seems to work, i downloaded a root checker and it says that i have root access..
So i think it was the first kernel that messed things up..
Thanks for the help..
especially MistahBungle, you have been a big help to me thank you..
Really ? Good news indeed. You're welcome ;-) Glad you finally got it working the way you want.
