Who would like Window 8 on the Note? Soon we will have it - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Galaxy Note Variant with Window 8 for Window fans:
http://www.tech-gadget.co.in/2012/05/samsung-will-launch-windows-based.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+techegadget+%28Tech+Gadget%29

It doesn't say anything in there about the Note getting Windows, just that the author would like to see it.

Lol, why is this even posted in galaxy note, or any android based phone forumn?

If it was possible, i'd definately put it on my note if it could dual boot

I don't want Windows 8 on my phone or on my computer. Win 7 rules and M$ is making a big mistake.

I would welcome WP7 or 8 as a dual boot.

I would only use it if we can dual boot it.

+1 on dual booting it. There are days that I would like an over simplified UI such as WP8, but I couldn't live with it full time. Plus the lack of customization would kill me. Also, a dual boot option would allow me to let others use my phone and actually know how to do anything at all. My Note is so streamlined for my personal use that nobody else can use it effectively.

I would like it just to try. In the end it will be the beSt OS

I themed my Ics as windows phone 7. I had an HTC surround and loved the ui. However android is still Top for me. So android with windows phone 7 ui is perfect.
Also that's clearly Photoshoped. The tip of the spen is gone and the buttons on the bottom are not angled correctly

Never said I was able to. That was just a response to the wp7 ui stuff.
Also if this does come out we wouldn't benefit from it (unless you want to buy another gnote..)

I have to agree with the dual boot option. And if its possible for dev to cook some W8 ROM to make it better

Search for helauncher2 apk...it has the htc dock
If you want to make it look like htc then you have to get it's launcher.

HD2 was a Windows 6.5 phone with HTC sense, so you can't use its launcher. It's the only phone that's been hacked to run fully functional Android and Windows 7.5 as well (also boots Ubuntu and Meego in a bleeding edge way.) You can dual boot any two OS. Awesome phone.

Lol yes, phone, it'd be quite an achievement to get win 7 on it. It's actually not totally vile. I do like the lack of bull**** 3D effects, typography is quite nice. But, compared to jail broken iOS or Android it's bit limited.

I wonder if its possible to get a port of Ubuntu phone from the nexus 4 to the OG.
And if so would you have to have the nexus conversion done.

....that's your personal opinion. I think that Ubuntu for phones will essentially be more powerful than android and will bring a variety of new possibilities to the table along with a cool new interface. The only negative thing I could think of is not being able to use android apps.
Wait lol was that sarcasm?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda premium
New interface may be fun to tinker with I guess. The phone ecosystem is all about the apps, though.
All I see is a potentially more bloated os, much worse power management, less apps, etc. But I may be completely wrong.
Regardless it will be interesting to see if this and mozilla's phone os end up being worth a crap.

XBMC for Android (Must have app IMO)

My buddy was showing me his jailbroken ATV and had this running! I did some research and found out they just released a stable version for android and it is the perfect match for this beast of a phone!
Here is the link:
http://www.xbmcandroid.com/2013/01/...iendly-release-of-xbmc-for-android-must-have/
And moderators, if this is against any forum policies I apologize, I just... I got excited. I just wanted to shout it from on top of a mountain. But I didn't have a mountain; I had a newsroom and a camera.

Media center... and much much more. Check out the link, it has all the info you'll need.
To get HD movies to stream across your network you will probably need this custom codec for the sound http://www.equisoforum.com/Thread-HOWTO-MKV-DTS-Audio-Codec-for-MX-DICE-Player
I have personally ran xbmc on my last 3 droids in conjunction with my lan's media server. Long story short is that your Note 2 will become the coolest remote...

S4 features leaked for S3... wonder when we will get it?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
It may be as simple as downloading the package, pulling the apks and side loading the apps. Nothing there I really care about though.
A lot of the features will need framework support. This is a leaked "official" Samsung ROM...unless a dev wants to take the time to try to port some of the new stuff, we probably won't see them until the international version gets updated to 4.2.2.
