[Q] Carrier label on status bar - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys! I tried a lot of custom ROMs, and there were certain things that I liked, in particular I liked the fact that in MIUI you have the carrier label on the status bar, so you can check the operator simply by unlocking the device.
However I like the smoothness and the battery of the stock samsung ROM, so I would like to know if there is a way to show the carrier name on the satus bar?!??
There are some phones that have this feature, like the motorola RAZR:

Is it possible you changed your HD's taskbar by using third party app?
I have never seen a battery and date indicator like yours on officila ROMs.
Maybe you should place your question in the thread you got your taskbar from.

Nope, this is a software call BattClock and has nothing to do with 3G icon because 3G icon is missing before I install it. Anyway, I fixed myself, I replaced phcanOverbmp.dll and now the icon is back.
As long as it works....

[Q] Help Theming Google Search Widget

Hi Guys,
I'm a designer and have put together a concept of a Google Search Widget that I wouldn't mind sitting on my home screen. I've integrated styles from other parts of the UI so that it'll fit more seamlessly into the user experience.
I've never developed for Android before but have done a lot of background reading and am aware of the various \res\drawable images I'll need to replace. My question is whether or not I'll be able to replace those images without rooting my device, using ASTRO for example?
Also, is it a simple case of replacing the \res\drawable images and it working or is there more to it?
I've got a locked bootloader and don't want to unlock it, so am waiting for ICS and a hopeful way to root with a locked bootloader then.
Screenshot of what it will look like:

}
I'll be re-designing the app that launches upon touch to look more like the Xperia UI menus
Cheers,
M

Lockscreen weather and notifications

I've been looking round for a bit, ever since I got my nexus 7, for something with a nice clean interface, where I can view all my notifications, the weather, the time and maybe some other things, but i've not found anything that suits my needs.
Android has a beautiful lockscreen and, especially on tablets, has quite a bit of spare room. I realise that lockscreen notifications is going into Apple territory slightly, and have no idea if the addition of this by Google would cause them any repercussions, but I think it would be a nice feature for them to add to this increasingly beautiful OS.
I had a few minutes so I threw something quick together to put my thoughts across as to what a good lockscreen notification system would look like in my opinion.

If anyone has seen something like this that I have missed, please let me know. I think this would be a nice addition to the lockscreen.

Question how to make control panel transparent ?

So, I noticed recently, but for some reason my notification and control panel is not transparent anymore. I don't know how and why it happened! How can I turn it back ?

The fact is I don't even remember! But even lower tier devices has that effect running the same MIUI version. So, why ain't it here

the blurring effect was removed from low-end phones and some mid-range phones because it saturated the use of RAM and CPU. In the Redmi Note 10 it was never blurred
* There is no way to make it transparent again , just wait for an update to add this effect again

Hidding status bar while scrolling down a web site

Hi everyone, i'm new to XDA in general, so appreciate it a lot that you can read my post .
I'm currently trying to enable an option in my Galaxy S21 (not the plus nor the ultra) so that i can hide the status bar while scrolling down a web site in order to take a better advantage of the screen size. I've just read a couple of posts about this OneUI Tuner app developed by some senior members of the community, however i've not been able to download the app and test it. So, could someone please help me find the download url for that app or maybe give some more insight as to wether it might work correctly in Android 12 or in general what other option is there available to hide the status bar.
Thanks a lot and have a nice day
Try this. May not work on 4.0...
I use Galaxy Goodlock Quickstar to hide all that junk on my N10+'s.

Nice, i just tried that. However, i don't really want to get rid of it all the time, just when i scroll down a web site. For example, something like this option available in the Samsung default web browser, i'd like to have it also for chrome, let's say
