Sprint Early Upgrade Buyout Program - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

If you are a current Sprint customer under contract and want to get the new EVO 4g LTE for less then outright buying it, then you should use the "Sprint Early Upgrade Buyout Program"
The way it works is if you have 12 months or less on your contract you can pay a fee to end your contract early. By ending your contract, you can do a new 2year contract and get the discounted price.
Fee Amounts:
9-11 months = $165
12-14 months = $125
15-17 months = $95
18-21 months = $55
22-24 months = $35
Over 24 months = $0
So if you have 9-11 months on your contract (you will pay the most) you will pay $165.
$165 Early Term Fee
+199 Price of E4GLTE on a 2 year contract
$365 before taxes
$549 (E4GLTE Off Contract)
-$365 (Early buy out program/ most expensive scenario)
$184 is what you will save

I paid $115 a week ago and I was 12 months out from my upgrade date.

Although I believe the time frames are correct, the dollar amounts aren't - For instance, my upgrade is June 1st, and for me to buy out it would have been $45. Also while speaking to Sprint, they made it seem like the time frame was only within 4 months, but I don't think that was true.

I thought with their new program you can get new customer equipment pricing at 20 months???

I know this is true in part because they wouldn't allow me to upgrade the other phone on my line before may, which was exactly 24 months after purchase and I know a few people that have called and they were offered early buyout.

I did this a week ago. Paid $45 to buy out 4 months.

Maybe the buyout is necessary on family plans where the upgrade is not being done on the primary line?

It has been conformed that the price are not dead on that I posted, they seem to be cheaper. But I can conform that i have 11 month on my current contract and i did buy out for $113. I can conform that if you have 12 months or less on your contract you can use this program.
When you call you have to speak to a customer service rep. If you talk to one of the other department it is know telling what they will tell you. One lady told me i had to drive to a store in my state that was 2 hours from where I live????? I just called back and talked to a customer service rep.

Quincy M: Ok, Let me check as we have this special promotional program at specific locations only.
Quincy M: I have located that information for you , to take part in this program you need to call the Account Services team on 888 211 4727 and they will assist you further with the early upgrade buyout, I recommend that you call them right away please.
You: Can you confirm that my location is eligible?
Quincy M: Sure, let me check

Great info, I may be able to use my 3d to knock the $199 price down to $109 and pay the early buy out. Next month should be my 12th month on this contract. Then instead of using the other phone on my line to get the LTE I can just get two new phones. Thanks!

I'm willing to bet if you call them they would do it even outside of the market. It doesn't hurt them at all cause its like adding money to what you paid for the phone.

You need to talk to account services.

I had a year left and I only had to pay $40
from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2

I called today and the one guy told me 165. I said if I called within a year of my upgrade (April 27) it was only 115. He transferred me and that guy gave it to me for 115.

i live in long island. long story short:
i called customer service, lady said new york was not part of the promotion
called retentions, lady said sure
retentions even waived my upgrade fee
always call retentions

I just spoke with account services and I got it taken care of for $85. Is for my wife, but had to do on one of my other lines. Will just swap to hers after we get device.

I live in Minnesota and called them three times on Tuesday. Each time they confirmed the program but that I needed to complete it at a corporate store which is only 5-10 minutes from me. (That's why I kept calling. I was hoping someone would do it over the phone) It can not be done at a Sprint store which is not corporate. I think there are 2 or 3 corporate stores near me and like 10+ non-corporate (which also includes places like Radio Shack or Sam's Club). One rep also confirmed my location to make sure the program was available in my area.
Doesn't really matter for me now since there are no phones left to preorder which means I need to get it in a store when it's released. I'll just go to one of the corporate stores. I was willing to pay full price last week(then found out about this program) so whatever hoops I jump through to save a few hundred bucks this week is worth it to me.

I did this last week, talked to account services they told me my area wasn't elgible. but there is a program in my area for upgrade now it ends the 17th in store. But can only preorder the EVO LTE online. So I called retentions told them I wanted to upgrade early she offered the buyout for $95. So now I'm elgible and waiting for the EVO to drop.

Thanks for this thread. I am only 7 months with my epic touch 4g and they reset my upgrade with $165 and will do a preorder at BB once it shows in the system. I was going to pay full retail off contract until I saw this thread and gave it a shot. Went to BB and the girl said to wait till Monday to preorder and get the $50 gc. She said that if phone comes out after the galaxy 3 for Sprint, I can cancel preorder on Evo lte and get the GS3 instead.
Thanks everyone,

Estimated Release Date for HTC Evo 3D

I was checking the sprint community forum and seen something that makes sense:
"i work for sprint and they have extended the date of no mail in rebates 3 times already. now it doesnt end until 6/4/2011. and what i have seen is that each date that they extend the instant rebates the day after is the date of a new phone. originally the instant savings was to end on april 16th the day before the echo is released, then it was extended to may 7th the day before the nexus is to come out. now it is extended to june 6th and im hoping they announce the release of the htc evo 3d for june 7th. plus the evo was released in june so i think the 3d will follow suit for sure. It should be a one of a kind phone for sure."
I was also talking to a sprint rep who told me that the number transfer rebate expires 06/23 (what I mean by this is the sprint 'credits' as they call it) in which he said that most likely the EVO 3D would come out after that date.(He made sure to explain to me he didn't exactly know the date and just described a pattern). I also notice the mistake on dates in the quote above it should be 06/04, more info can be found at http://community.sprint.com/baw/message/283940#283940.
So two possible dates, I assume it will be earlier in June. (June 5th)
I was going to pre order it, but with no price point set for without contract purchase and I don't think it would to wise to do that. Would hate to pre order a phone with $50 and it ends up costing $700 full retail, and I'm not paying that. Would have been nice to have a price to go by.

I am sure you can wait until the price is released before pre-ordering. The pre-orders right now are not even being advertised yet so I would think you will still be good once a price is released.
Sprint Rep told me it would most likely cost as much as the EVO 4G, which was $199.99. Based upon all phone carriers, I would say it would not go above $299.99. Also Best Buy Pre-order is not through sprint I was told because Sprint is not doing Pre-Orders. I have to order mine through a rep to get my discounts so I have to wait anyways.

They give you a $50 gift card as "proof" of the pre-order more or less. Could just use the $50 gift card on something else. If you change your mind, they don't expect you to use it exclusively on the phone.
For instance, I could go use mine right now on an XBOX game right now and still be on the pre-order list. And I could also just NOT pick up the phone.
The 3D blockbuster app goes live on June 2nd, so the Evo 3D probably wont launch much after that.
I'm betting on June 3rd, simply because its the first friday of June as was June 4th last year. Plus, June 3rd is better than the 5th or 23rd...

Pre orders at best buy are refundable, they just give you a $50 gift card that you can return or use if you decide to not go through with the purchase. $700 full retail sounds about right though, I'd personally buy it at that price point.

Speak for yourself, I'm hoping for a June 23rd release as that is my upgrade date. I've preordered so if the phone drops before that date I'll have to convice sprint to move up my date, convice best buy to hold my preorder, or pay full retail.

so couldn't you just wait till the 23rd to get the phone??? Why couldn't the evo3d come out the 3rd and you can't wait to upgrade 20 more days
Haha, I'd like to get it today so the sooner the better for me. Also if its after the 23rd then that would suck for people like me who get a $175 discount off the phone from transferring my number and my work discount. So if the phone costs $199.99 like the EVO 4G did then it will only cost me $25. Also as soon as I heard about the EVO 3D my Fuze has been going slower, freezing more and just being a pain in the @ss. It's not worth it to flash an update and try to clean it up, just going to deal with it until the EVO comes out so the day I get it, it will be even nicer. (Cleared some info as it forced me to)
The $175 discount is actually $125 for transferring the number from a different carrier, and $50 from work to clarify for people that are also transferring and be sure to tell the rep that as they may not as or try to find discounts your entitled to. Best Buy didn't ask anything but do your research and tell them where you work to see if you get a discount such as state employee (usually 15%, included teachers, police, etc. (again look this up this is on memory of 2 years ago and I'm not sure what all carriers do on monthly discounts). Remember, Google is your friend on finding you discounts so be sure to use it. (Example: See promo code from a site that your buying something such as advanced auto parts, if you don't Google and active Promo code to save money then your a retard.)

No way I'm paying $700 for a Cell phone. Sprint will have it cheaper than Best Buy most likely anyway. The original Evo is $450 at Sprint and like $550 at Best Buy. They mark their phones up big time.

You have to be employed by certain companies or be a member of certain groups. Every company/group get a different discount.
Ex. The company I work for can get 7% off AT&T but can get 23% off with Sprint. I use the discount through my wife's company, and we get 25% with Sprint.
Lots of different ways.....you are probably eligible to get some kind of discount and you don't know it.

I asked this a while back and was told you could get discounts off some plans but no discounts on the simply everything plans - which for me are the only plans that will work based on the large number of minutes I need - and I don't need a family plan.
Lady in Telesales said from what she's hearing it will be launched some time in the middle of July...I know she prob. Don't know ****,but she sounded pretty confident.

Best method of upgrade for Current Evo Owners?

I need to start hearing some possible options since it looks like next month will be the release date.
I joined Sprint last year when the Evo released.
What would you guys do if you wanted the EVO 3D?
Thanks
Did you check your upgrade eligibility on https://manage.sprintpcs.com/specialoffers/RebateWelcome.do
Like you, I joined sprint last year on the launch day of the EVO4G at the $69.99 plan. This site says I am eligible for a full upgrade for the phone on my account. Interestingly enough it says at the bottom this program ends June 4th.

i have the same thing. I got the evo 4g at launch. up until april 1st the system said that I had a $150 credit avalible june 1st 2011. now it says I have a $75 credit june 1st and a full credit 4-1-12! All I did was call sprint telesales (they are the only ones that can do this) I very polity asked if I could have my upgrade back because I would like to get the evo 3D. they put me on hold, when they came back they said that I could get my upgrade back and that I needed to call on june first because that is when my account resets. She also said that she was making notes in my account to make this easy when I called back. i asked her to send me an email confirming this conversation. I got a email that had her specialist id# team name and date (dont think i need it but
I have had problem with sprint in the past)
So basically if you have a $75 credit right now you can call sprint telesales (888-253-1315) and ask for your $150 credit back. Mentioning the evo 3d may or may not help, but the rep did talk about the evo 3d for a second with me when I noted I wanted to get one.
Just got my upgrade back to $150..telesales didn't help me they routed my call to account services...all I did was act dumb about not knowing about the premier changes. I told him I had a full upgrade in March and all of a sudden my full upgrade was gone...so he went through all the details about the changes...and then reset my account thus giving me back my full upgrade oh yeah and made sure I got a email of the conversation

If I wanted it? I do. It will release next month. I will be absolutely flabbergasted if it doesn't come out on June 3rd (also my birthday). That would be a deviation from their tradition of releasing phones on fridays, big-deal phones on the first friday of june and also neglect to honor the Evo4G's anniversary(ish)...
The Evo really was a big deal for Sprint, just as the Evo3D is....does anyone remember Sprint's phone selection prior to the Evo4G? Quirky at best for dumbphones, random (crap) at best for smartphones....the hero or the moment or a BB....ick....and the hero--while a great phone--was a fluke.
So what am I doing? I will be trading in my Evo4G for $180 at Radioshack, I called Sprint and got my upgrade turned back into full (from $75) and I reserved a phone at Radioshack...so I will most likely be walking into Radioshack at 5am on June 3rd and likely walking out at 5:30am on with $25 in my left hand and the best smartphone to date in my right hand--as I was told (when I posed this exact question) by the RS sales rep who agreed, whose manager agreed and whose district manager agreed that they would all be shocked if it didn't come out on June 3rd....none of us know better, it just fits a pattern...and for the Evo a new tradition.
That's what I'd do.
if ur like me, i need an upgrade every yr
all u have to do is stick with a plan tht is $89.99 and up to become a gold member and receive a yrly upgrade. Next yr the Evo 3D will be a dinosaur and so I rather be a gold member than have to upgrade evey 2 yrs. I lost my upgrade in feb with the new changes but got it back cuz they made a mistake and put me as a silver member. I've been on the everything plan for months and tht qualifies me to be a gold member. i since changed my plan to the everything data 900 $89.99...if i go any less than tht then i'll be a silver member again! no waaaay!

If you plan on upgrading every year then it should pay to go with the higher plan as it should run less then purchasing a new phone at full retail once a year.
Luckily I have been with Sprint over 10 years so I qualify for gold otherwise I would never be able to convince my wife to spend more money on our cell phone bill.
Being able to deal with Sprint for over 10 years, I totally feel like I deserve the yearly upgrade! I have been on the phone for countless number of hours over the years with some of the worst customer service on the planet and had some of the most stressful phone calls with them.
As a long time customer, I must say they customer service has improved more then words can describe from where it was back in the day......
I'm new to Sprint.. Got the original EVO on launch and was wondering, what if I canceled my account, pay the ETF, and open another account?
You guys are having a lot of luck resetting your credit to $150. I spoke to supervisors and a whole slew of reps without any luck.

Etf is only $120, I'll open a new acct, switch numbers, then cancel the old one and sell my evo 4g. In the end, it might turn out to be a free phone.

A simpler thing to do would just add a new line then cancel the old one. Why go through to trouble of opening a whole new account.
Wouldn't it be much easier/cheaper to sell our Evos on Ebay for around $250 then buy the Evo 3D from Sprint for $425 (Assuming the Evo 3D is $500 minus the $75 rebate)? This all varies depending on the price of the Evo 3D and how much you can sell your Evo in Ebay.

Just checked that page and same thing.
It says June 1st $75 and 4/1/12 $150.
I am a little confused though. I am one year into my 2 year commitment. If i were to use this "upgrade" from Sprint, Would I be adding 2 years making it a 3 year commitment.
Not sure I want to to commit that long. Any idea what the outright price of the phone will be? Noticed you could also trade in my Evo for $150 account credit.

The upgrade pricing is for signing a new 2yr contract which takes the place of your current contract so you would be on a new 2yr contract, not 3yr.
They have a bunch of different options when signing a new contract like if are premier silver and only a year into your contract you can sign a new 1yr and get $25 off a new phone, or a new 2 yr and get $75 off a new phone (which you will be eligible for on 6/1). After your contract expires (4/1/2012) and you are eligible for a full upgrade you can get $75 off with a new 1yr and $150 off with a new 2yr contract.
The problem is that new phones have discounts and rebates which you're only eligible for with a full upgrade. As with the EVO the phone was $550 I believe w/ $100 mail-in-rebate, $150 upgrade, and it's $200 purchase price that comes to $450. The other $100 was an instant rebate that sprint gives you and I'm almost positive that you only get that rebate with the full upgrade price. I'm even pretty sure you're not eligible for the mail-in-rebate so the difference between the 1yr and 2yr upgrades is really about $275 rather than just the difference between $75 and $150. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

You would get the EVO 3d for the discounted price on the new line.
Now what can I do I have had the Evo since October and my upgrade was supposed to be this year but got it anyways the whole first month I exchanged it, all different problems. 3 times and now I have a white Evo with the same dust problems and light leak and a few dings on the top right any suggestions?
Sprint is starting to piss me off, they're trying to screw me out of my yearly upgrade and talking to customer service is a complete waste of time. Now I'm trying to post a question to sprints message board and this is the second night in a row it has gone down for maintenance at the very moment I try to post my question.... and now it's back up five minutes later.
Google 'customer service hall of shame' and you'll see Sprint's been number one for three or four years now.
/end rant
just had to get that off my chest

Going ahead with my switch

I didn't have it Pre-Ordered so I am hoping the phone is still stocked at stores. I can't decide on the the cheaper Wal-Mart/Amazon 2yr Activation, or the enticing Sprint Credit of $125 for Porting my number. I definately know I am going with the Evo 3D though as My G2X is being sold today (Already found a buyer).
Honestly I can wait if stock is completely out since I have a backup Nexus One, but I don't think I will miss my G2X. Great phone provided it stayed powered on and my GPS could lock, but I can't continue to go through G2Xs until the White Buffalo (2.3 with fixes) pushed. Just my luck, it will days after It's gone from my hands, but judging from what I have read about the 3D, I don't think I will care.
Basically, just inquiring as to what deal could be better.
It's hard to beat the 125 dollar port-in credit. On top of that, you get 300 bonus minutes if you sign up for the everything data 450 plan, that offer expires the end of June if I'm not mistaken.
Dude so is this is a new line of service? Definitely go with the $125 port credit, that'll beat anything else.
Since the price difference is $105, and since Sprint always ships their phones HELLA fast, you can basically use the difference to
(1) buy a great $50 case (otterbox, etc)
(2) get 15 months of $7 insurance, or
(3) get super drunk.
totally worth ordering thru sprint. I'm assuming the stores are sold out? Because if not, they'll do the $125 port credit too and then it's instant gratification
ALSO, never forget to try and find out if you're eligible for any discounts--for example, since I'm a USAA member (not an employee, just a account holder!) they give 15% off the entire bill!
Best,
the Panamaniac
Oh ok, thanks for the heads up on the USAA discount. I practically live through USAA so I will make sure they give me my 15% discount.
$125 Port-In credit then. I am going to check store inventory today and setup service there before I try online (I like instant gratification, 2-5 days delivery is too much torture!).
I've been told that sprint stores were suppose to get more shipped to them on Monday. If you want it, call the stores an ask. I did when I wanted to exchange the Nexus S during my 30 day period.
i havent seen this posted anywhere but if you are switching to sprint this is something to consider:
Sprint EPRP
Sprint Employee E-Mail Address + CID for EPRP Plans (SERO Replacements)
After seeing repeated requests for Sprint Employee E-Mail Addresses and the Last 3 Digits of the Employee's ID Number (CID) to get Sprint's Everything Plus Referral Program Plans (which replaced SERO), here is an employee's information that was intentionally made public:
URL: Sprint | Everything Plus(SM) Referral Program
E-Mail: [email protected]
Last 3 of CID: 383
(Reference: http://mcguireslaw.com/2008/07/16/ps...erything-plus/.)
This information was made public by Russ Mcguire on 7/16/08, and is posted on this forum so potential and existing Sprint customers who are interested in getting an Everything Plus Referral Program Plan can get one. (I know there is at least one other Sprint Employee E-Mail Address & CID made public by Sprint a few months ago so the general public can access EPRP Plans, but I can't find that article anymore. I'll post it in this thread once I find it.)

FYI if you order from Sprint.com or telesales before 4pm est chances are you will have the phone the next day if it's in Stock. That being said if your local store has it go get it there.
Can I convert my current account to the EPRP using the above information?

EPRP gets no discounts on top of it. So if you have a discount you might be better off that way. Last time I switched I went from the Old Sero to EPRP so they didn't make it that hard, not sure how easy it will be to take a regular account to EPRP though. Can't hurt to call.
Thanks for the replies and information everyone. I found a Sprint kiosk in my local mall that participated in the Port-In Credit (Sprint Corporate store down the street told me the promotion had ended.) and purchased my Evo 3D along with getting my USAA discount.
I have to say, this phone is really impressive. Coming from my G2X the performance wasn't mind blowing, but I feel much more comfortable with this phone than I did with my G2X. Don't get me wrong, my G2X was monster of a phone, as long as it wasn't having major issues but I think I like the 3D better long after the newness of the phone wears off and I actually don't mind the Sense UI. Not sure if I will ever purchase an LG Smartphone again after the way things have been handled in regards to the G2X.
Looking forward to the unlocked bootloader soon and seeing what the Dev community has in store for this beast.

$399.99 Early Upgrade for AT&T Premier Accounts.

PSA: Just got off the phone with ATT, my curiosity was piqued by the thread stating the website was allowing contract upgrade pricing for non-eligible lines. My line is not eligible for upgrade until 1/2013, and the Business Premier website shows off-contract/no-commitment pricing of $649.99. BUT, on the phone they said I could upgrade for $399.99 + $18 activation.
Personal Side Note: I currently have a white skyrocket, and my primary complaint is the "mura" effect and the weak DPI (LCD density mods only mask the issue). I have big hands that make the skyrocket look regular sized, I already have a SGP case picked out... but other than the screen, it is the same phone and still no Skyrocket HD or SG3 release date. Tempted to buy it just to try them out side by side, then sell the skyrocket or return the Note - no skin off my back. Thoughts?
Sounds like a good plan. I am holding out though. (Technically I did compare them side by side tho) I have faith in my Samsung guy telling me the s3 will be out in midsummer ...which lines up with out next available upgrade.

Business care reps offer special pricing at times.
In a store as long as you have had your current phone at least 6 months and haven't had any upgrades overridden in the last year then you are eligible for in store early upgrade pricing which is discounted cost of phone + $250 so it would be $550 in store early upgrade vs $650. You still save $100.
Website shows $649.99 for me as well. I called 611 and spoke with a CSR and told them I was interested in the pre-ordering the Note. I was then offered the $399.99 early upgrade price (still requires new 2 year commitment). YMMV of course, but when I asked if I could call back and get the same deal - he said yes. Again my actual upgrade eligibility is 1/2013.

Here is exactly what I did: I dialed 611 --> entered phone # --> selected #3 for sales and upgrades --> was connected to AT&T Business Solutions Customer Care (1-800-331-0500) --> told them that I was reading about special pricing for the Note's release and that I was interested in upgrading my line -->> CSR said he could offer me $399.99 + $18 + 2yr commitment --> I asked him if I could call him back and get the same deal --> CSR said, "it's available in the system so whoever you call back will have access to the pricing."
I'd try calling the 1800 directly, or try 611 again. Some CSRs are more knowledgeable then others on what is available

I have a corporate discount account, which seems like a type of employee discount program - but it is not called EMO. I called them up this morning and that is what I was told by a CSR. When there is a deal out there I am usually able to talk to ATT and get something worked out - they've been very helpful. If a second CSR won't give the offer, then it could be something more than premier account that gave me the early upgrade price.
Yea unforuntaly they wont help they said its a new process where they cant help they just send me to premier, and premier just looks at the account and does what it says.

Called again today to look into this further and this time to CSR told me again that they are able to offer $399.99 over the phone - then pushed me over to the Premier phone system. Unfortunately they are closed atm, I'll try again tomorrow and see what they say. From what I understand, a Premier CSR will walk you through the process to get the pricing on the website... but again, that is just my speculation until I actually get one of them on the phone.
I got lucky, att made the mistake if turning my service off when it was paid three months in advance , woooo free upgrade

I am so glad I read this. By calling 611 Premier Sales I got a the early upgrade price of $399 which I could not get via Premier online! This thread saved me $205! Thanks you!
I have EMO too. My upgrade is not due until 5/18/2012. But 611 Premier Sales ordered it for me for $444.99. Its not $399 but better than the $649.99 No commitment price.
I called 611 and and this lady didn't help me with ****. Next upgrade isn't until June. She gave me the number for premier.
I'll call that later it's pretty annoying how these claims aren't as simple as they are written out to be.

As an update, after a bit a run around between Business Care and Premier, I got a price adjust and got it for $300 w/2 yr contract - but I could not upgrade a line which had been upgraded in November 2011, which they stated would immediately get flagged. My other line was upgraded in June 2011, and it looks like it will ship today.
Also, what is this 50% off accessories for Premier accounts I keep reading about? On Sunday? I can't find any documentation.

[Q] Note 3 on Sprint new One Up

I looked at every blog and cant find a straight answer. So if I am due for a phone upgrade...With Sprint one up plan i can get the note 3 for 0 down "no money upfront" and makes payments each bill cycle? At the end of owning the phone 1 yr i can do get another phone again with 0 down?
I'm in a similar situation, I want to swap the note 3 after a year or 6 months to get triband lte (I'm in a wimax area).
Currently on a family unlimited plan but wondering if I can do the jump program for a year.

I am doing the One Up on Friday to go from Note 2 to the Note 3. You have to pay sales tax on the full retail price of the phone up front then you start your monthly payments. After 12 months you can use the One Up again on that line to get another new phone. This way actually saves me money. If the price is $699.99 then I will be paying about $58 on tax and then right at $30 per month. So one year of payments would be $350 then I could start all over again with the Note 4. Since I usually buy a phone at full price when I am in the middle of a 24 month contract, the One Up program is going to end up being cheaper for me.

I called my local store about this. The thing that I think people miss about it is that you cannot upgrade to the next phone (in your case Note 4) until you have completely paid off your Note 3. So a year in you still have to pay another $439, assuming they put retail at $799. Also I am pretty sure that at that time you surrender your old device to them meaning the argument about picking up the difference via a private party sale is out the window too. Then you'll have to put a down payment to get your Note 4 on top of that since the no down payment option is only a limited time deal! For that reason I'm not jumping into the One UP at this time...
I was told by my local store that it works the way I described. That is the whole point of the One Up program. To allow customers to upgradeevery year. One of the social care people on sprints forums even states " you will be eligible for a new phone after we recieve 12 payments for the phone"
I would go in the store and ask or call a different store.

Yes you are eligible that is true but you are still due 24 months payments, meaning if you have remaining balance on your phone you have to pay that! If I'm wrong someone show me some official documentation because I can't find it.

That doesn't make sense from what they told you. How is it a one up program if i don't get a device each yr. The limited time yes is for 0 down but you have to be able to get a new device in a yr to call it One Up. Otherwise I would just pay $350 for device up front and get another device in 2 yrs vs paying full price. From what i heard you don't own the device and you are turning it back in, hence the reason you are not paying full price and allowed to upgrade in a yr.
Sprint is really going down hill with the softbank merger. Confusing everyone even their employees.
We have had one statement from Sprint only saying it will be release Oct 4th. No promotion or anything. The one up hasn't been fully vetted and its live and active. This is crazy!
Exactly it's like they are trying to copy the auto industry and develop a phone "lease" program. I love the thought of early upgrades (R.I.P. Gold member program) however I was told that you have to pay the remaining payments before you can upgrade to your next phone. Would love for this to be wrong but need someone to find some actual proof from the sprint either way.

That would be the same as current plans...If i wanted to upgrade to a new phone from Note 2 in less then a yr i just pay the early termination. After a yr on contract the termination would be less then $200. So if i paid $300 to get the device and $200 to cancel contract that's only $500. Still $200- $300 shy of original price. As this wouldn't make any sense i am sure One Up has to be cheaper in the fact of getting a new device each yr.

I just now called customer care and asked them. I explained to the rep (Kelly) what I was planning and asked about the remaining 12 months of payment if I One Uped again in 12 months. Kelly put me on hold while she looked into it and she came back and said that after 12 months of payment I could do the one up again. I asked again to clarify that they remaining 12 months of payments went away and she said yes as long as you turn in the phone.

Yea that's what i figured. That's the only way this plan could work lol. Im still upset that sprint has not made a bigger effort to explain this. Its like they don't want anyone to know they are doing 0 down. Maybe after 0 down ends they will start advertising.

Don't forget the $15 per month discount that you get off your bill for as long as your in the one up program. With that your essentially only paying 15 per month for the phone.
Say if you were to upgrade to the Note 4 at year one, do you own the Note 4 at year 2 after completing 24 payments?
If that is true, One up makes a lot of sense because you could then sell the Note 4 that you upgraded to for more cash at year 2 than a Note 3 you would have had to kept for two years with the standard subsidized route.
Yea, my upgrade isn't until January, they want me to give them my "one" to switch to one up and get the note 3. Eff that. I'll probably just switch to AT&T. They tried to switch me to customer retention but I was on hold a good 15 minutes and I had to go to work . I don't mind giving up the note 3 in 12 months while on the new plan, but I'm not giving them a phone I just paid full price for.

There is alot of confusion on the one up program but you pay 12 months on a phone and then if u want to upgrade again you have to hand tje phone over and start paying on another. That's hiw tje other 12 payments are gone. It's a cool idea that I'm gonna take advantage of. Plus the 15 off the monthly bill is awesome. So it would only be about 15 extra to get the note 3.

I'm in a similar situation. I pre-ordered the Evo LTE, so I can't do a standard upgrade until 1-1-14. Shortly after receiving my pre-ordered black Evo LTE, Sprint announced the white Evo LTE and I bought it at retail. Around May of this year I bought a Note 2 at retail. Even though I'm still in contract, the active device on my line is not what I bought at contract price. After talking with 3 reps at 611 and 2 reps at 2 different local stores, I was getting mixed responses about whether or not I'd have to trade in a phone to start the One Up program. I finally called 611 again and asked a rep then had her verify it with her manager. She told me that I do NOT have to trade in any phone to start the One Up program since my active device wasn't purchased at contract price and because it had been over a year. I had her put notes on my account saying that I do NOT have to trade in a phone to get the Note 3 Friday morning and begin the One Up program! I still have my black Evo LTE and white Evo LTE, so I'm going to take my black LTE with me just to be safe in case they do require me to trade it in. I could sell it on ebay for $150-200, but to me it would be worth paying that to upgrade early during the Note 3 release. Hopefully they'll expect nothing from me except taxes on the Note 3, and I'll be good to go. I can let ya know for sure in just under 8 hours when my local Sprint store opens up. I will be there at 10am when they open to get me a white Note 3!!! Hoping that all goes smoothly!!

I'm either gonna convince them to let me start the program without trading in my "One" or I'm gonna go give At&t a try for a while. I've been on the fence about leaving anyway, I'm ready for 4g. Sprint is not only making me pay 50$ than anyone for the Note, and now they want my phone that I didn't even get from them? Heck no

It can be almost any phone. Upgraded to the s3 when it came out for my original upgrade. Switched to note 2 midway through contract. Upgrade I was scheduled for was feb 2014. Activated my old evo and turned that in for the note 3 this morning.

Be prepared to wait if you're getting the Note 3 on the One Up program! I was the only customer in the store and had to wait 1.5 hours for them to finally get it to go through for me! They even called Sprint and confirmed that everyone is having problems with it this morning. They told me that no over else has got it to work yet, but I was willing to wait all day, lol. Just be patient though, they eventually got it for me!!
