Bluetooth speaker lag? (Logitech Mini Boombox) - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

It could just be the way it works, but I'm using the Logitech Mini Boombox with my Transformer Prime when watching movies. The only thing is there seems to be almost a 1 second sound delay which is pretty useless, is there any way to minimise this? (Such as using a custom ROM or player - I'm currently using MX Player) Cheers

What version are you on? what bluetooth speaker are you using?
I can watch videos listening on my bluetooth headphones no problem, when i tried in January to watch a movie on the bluetooth in my car like you said nearly 1 second delay.
No problem now tho, everything works great, im on stock .21.
Maybe its your player as well, maybe its the bluetooh speakers your using, could be a lot of factors give us some more info

I'm on .21 too
The speaker is the logitech mini boombox (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/1201/8725)
I'm using MX Player
Cheers

Same problem with me. I can't use my bluetooth headphones, the delay is too annoying.

idunno what to tell ya, it used to lag for me update fixed it. idunno how idunno why. wish i could be more help :/

Good question.
I got my Bluetooth headset yesterday.
It's the Creative WP 250.
Great sound but I am experiencing a delay watching mkv video on BS player as well..
Is this a common problem using BT headsets and watching video?
It's pretty useless this way.

This problem isn't unique to the Prime. But it is particulary bad on the Prime.
On the Galaxy tab 10.1 I had this problem with BT headphones in all media players except Dice.
On the Prime, I'm getting lag with everything. Dice Player, Netflix...
Wfi on Wifi off doesn't matter. Basically if I use BT headphones, I get video lag.
Its starting to really annoy me. Kind of just want a tablet to work at this point. Finally got a tablet that plays video well, and now I can't use my headphones.
No lag on my Galaxy note or my original Galaxy tab 7. Maybe the Tegra 2 and Tegra 3 chips are to blame. Going to go to Best Buy and test some of the other Tegra 3 Tablets myself and see if they have this problem. Hear lots of people claiming there is no lag on the TF300T, but I suspect some people may not notice it initially or may be more tolerant of less than perfect playback.

Dice player solved my Bluetooth speaker lag problem.

[Q] Motorola S9-HD, S10-HD, and ASUS Transformer

Does anyone have experience with these headsets and the Transformer? I recently purchased both to do a comparison.
The S9-HD sound awesome but the Bluetooth connection with it is really bad. I frequently get drops in audio. It also seems to be messing with the Transformer's WiFi connection because my WiFi will show disconnected ever few minutes. This problem occurs frequently when using Pandora. I've tried checking the "Bluetooth" option but I get the same issues. When the audio drops, it will often skip to the next song when the audio comes back.
The S10-HD does not have any of the technical problems but the sound quality does not even come close to the S9-HD. I really want to keep the S9-HD. Is there any fix for the issues I've come across? Any word on S11-HD being release?
Sorry if this is OT, but I use the Sony MW600 and it works great. Nice and cheap stereo bluetooth. However, it's an in-ear headset that some people dislike.
I have the normal (not HD) S9's and they work fine. They don't affect wifi at all and they work up to a nice distance away from the TF. Can't comment on the HD versions though obviously.
reall, the s9-hd's have better quality then the s10-hd's?
I've had the s10 hd's since last november and love them, works great with the tf, my streak, and bb.

HDMI multi channel audio after ICS update

Anyone tested if the issue with 5.1 audio routing only to left speaker over HDMI is fixed in the ICS update? I was wondering if someone tested this with a home theatre receiver for true 5.1 surround.
I'll give this a go tonight (Aus time). So within the next 9 or 10 hours.
Have a Denon AVR2311. (I was experiencing the issue with FW .27, havn't tried since)
Just tried it now when I first test out my HDMI it was pretty bad I unplug it haven't plug it in till now. So far it seems pretty good but it might just be either the video I was playing before was bad or my TV speakers aren't as good as my PC speakers.
Did not work for me.. HDMI to my Anthem MRX 700
Tried 2 5.1 audio movies (avatar,Saving Private Ryan) also a 5.1 audio clip did not work also.
HDMI is now playing on all channels for me on my 2 year old LG lcd. Was only getting left channel before the ICS upgrade, so that's super good news!
Thanks guys! Giggles did you check if the player you are using in ICS affecting sound? Also want to bump this up for more test results from ppl having home theatre receivers.
HDMI out was working fine for me prior to ICS, but I can't say I really noticed what sound type I was playing. Since ICS I get picture, but no sound. I tried with the same video that worked the other night, as well as with Riptide. Perfect picture but absolutely no audio.

Voice Lag / Video

On every movie that I try to watch on my Transformer Prime using bluetooth headphones the voices lag behind the mouth movements and it is very noticeable! These are not streamed videos from Crackle or Netflix as those work pretty good. Rather these are videos I have ripped using DVDCatalyst or HandBrake and stored either on the micro SD card or internally. I get the same results with the stock player, MX player, BS player, etc...
Is this an Asus firmware issue or are we stuck waiting on Android 4.0.4 for a bigger fix than Asus can deliver?
I don't think this is specific to the Prime. I have the same problem on my original Transformer, so much so that I just stopped trying to use Bluetooth headphones with video. I took to using wired headphones instead.

I have the exact same issue. I plug my Prime in to my stereo via HDMI or watch directly on my prime or via Wired Headphones. It works perfect, but if I use my Stereo Bluetooth headphones the voices noticably lag behind.

What power setting are you using? When I put mine on Normal I don't see any lag between the two, or it's barely noticable.

Well even if I choose the power setting mine swaps back to balanced automatically after every few minutes so I've given up on that and just leave it on balanced.
Really! I'm suprised to learn that.

Mine used to do this forever ago... Haven't seen it since manual updates and factory resets, have you ever cleared your Prime from how it shipped? Are you using anything to overclock?
On topic, as others have said this isn't specific just to the Prime. I think it's something with this particular Broadcom chip isn't it? Pretty sure I've read of ways to control delays to at least minimize these kinds of things haven't I?

[Q] Anyone else here not able to like the One X+

I know the hardware should be capable, and I feel like I'd be happy with it if it didn't have **** drivers, but what can I do about that?
I had a Galaxy S3 on Sprint, replaced it with an LG Optimus G. Had to get off Sprint's network so grabbed a pair of these on AT&T. I wasn't interested in waiting on the One.
I bought it because I needed a phone and it felt good in my hand. I was never sure who's hands they designed the S3 for... but that's neither here nor there... I never imagined the fastest Tegra3 would be slow, or that the audio would be so horrible.
Do I just have bad phones? We have two phones, and the slowness is not limited to mine.
All audio (bluetooth or 3.5mm, streaming or local file, beats on or off) suffers from random cutting out and skips.
The stuttering transitions and the split second delay between pushing a button and something happening is mostly noticeable when done beside my S3 or Optimus G; otherwise it just feels generally slow.
I only get cutting out/skips with audio when i'm running slacker radio and the screen is active. If the screen is asleep, I have no sound quality issues with slacker. With regular MP3s, I have zero audio quality issues other than A2DP which is a simple bitpool setting that will get fixed by ROMs, but AUX connection sounds fantastic.
I don't see any of the slow or stuttering issues you are describing.
I'm gonna update to the latest stock image, and play with mp3 off flash. I've had issues with Spotify, Pandora, and subsonic. Come to think of it, I rarely listen with my screen off; I'm always at my desk at work and leave it on for the cover art and controls.
What ROM do you use?

I have used stock and elegancia. Both had the same music/sound issues. I think it is more of an app issue somehow.
I had the HOX before coming to the HOX+ i had some of these in playing music, but after a service it was fine. I think you have a bad phone. As far as the delay/stuttering it should be because of a rouge app which is slowing down the phone.

[Q] Sound delay over Bluetooth

Hello,
Just bought myself the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker, and there is an delay in the audio - doesn't matter in music, but it does matter when it comes to movies...
Is audio delay normal in a bluetooth connection, or is it something that shouldn't be there?
Is there maybe something wrong with the Bose unit, or something in the Tablet Z's bluetooth software?
i believe it is normal. i notice a sound delay between my asus tf700 and my potable bluetooh speaker. and i doubt it is on bose end. i have their headphone and a speaker system and he quality id phenomenal. sound and build. ill look into it more for you when i wake up hha its almost 2am here.

That was a quick answer
I just paired the speaker with my Nexus 4, and there is no audio delay in movies or TV-shows...
I believe that this means that there is an issue with the Sony bluetooth hardware/software.

I noticed a 1/2 second delay when using Sony Headphones on this tablet. Is a bit annoying for watching films.
When I had the tablet for a few days I also had the annoying Bluetooth delays.
No delays with Nexus 7 and same movies / YouTube vids and same Bluetooth receiver (Harman Kardon BTA10).
So it's a fault of the Tablet Z, either software-wise or hardware-wise (which would suck very much...).

Indeed, that would be an insane issue - lets hope it is a software problem.
Do they have some official channel where one could complain?
Update: The Tablet Z actually sounds way worse than the Nexus 4 does, through bluetooth; spent an hour trying to get the sound right on the Z, and it cannot be done - took only a few minutes on the Nexus 4, and the sound resembles my stereo system.
Maybe something with Android 4.1?
Another explanation could be that I'm going slightly mad, and the sound difference is all in my mind.
Created an account just to post this info. I'm quite positive the issue lies with Sony's hardware or software. I have the problem described with my xperia z1, which is EXACTLY the problem I have on my Playstation Vita. Specifically the delay and same poor/corrupt sounding quality. It's a shame because I'm a big sony fanboy
Same problem here...
Think maybe's a sound postprocessing matter...
I wonder if you would have the same issues if you turned off the "Clear Phase" and "xLOUD" and "S-Force" settings in the "Sound" section of the settings. Perhaps the processing of the audio is causing the delay?

S Force and xLoud are only applied to the device speakers.
Old i know
I know that this is old but look in the appstore for BS Player. Once you load the video go to settings and look for audio then audio offset. See if that works for you.
I bought Harman Kardon Omni 10.
If I use bluetooth I have 1000 ms audio delay.
However, if I use another cheap headphone, I can listen to my computer speakers WITHOUT delay.
I think the issue happen because Harman Kardon Omni 10 doesn't support aptx. Also it may be because it's a wifi speakers. Or may be because they have their own built in delay.
No problem for listening to music. With movies, I can simply set -1000 ms audio.
But with games? I suffer a lot.
I had no idea that I will face this problem.
The sound quality is very good.
I have no idea what to do with the audio latency.
