Hi All,
Has anyone tried the Amzer Shellster case (AMZ93090)? I ordered a unit to try it out and I love the belt clip part of the case. However, the part of the case that wraps around and protects the backside of the phone is slightly too small - instead of grasping firmly around both sides of the phone, one side is held on by the buttons instead.
Amzer is sending a replacement unit, so hopefully it is a one-off defect, but I'm curious to know if anyone else here has given this case a try.

i have a friend using this case on his i9100. says its great, so maybe that was a one off defect
I received the replacement last week and it definitely fits better. I like how the case feels in my hand.
However, I was surprised to see that the amzer case does not wrap around the front edges of the phone. If I set the phone down with the screen facing downward the glass would be touching the table.
While waiting for the replacement I used the belt clip with a backside case from body glove. It is nothing special, but it does wrap around the front edges of the phone and it fits in the amzer holster.

I have been lookig for something that provides suitable screen protection for the Touch HD, so that it can be carried in a pocket with other items with no corcerns about things being pressed against the screen. I have an Invisible Shield to protect from scratches, but obviously this won't protect against excessive pressure being applied and the open frame type protectors likw thw silicon and crystal won't offer much help. Normal leather pouches offer greater resistance, but it is still soft material and whilst it can spread pressure, it won't totally stop it.
So far the only thing I have seen that may offer what I am looking for is the Proporta Alu-Leather Case
Yeah i like the protection that the cover offers, however i don't like the method of holding the HD in the case.
Those side brackets/grip things might damage the outer edge of the surround.
This method also seems to leave a lot of the outer edges exposed.
Although the screen protection is not aluminum, i prefer the Pielframa and Noreve method of holding the HD in the case.
I ordered mine from proporta , just waiting for delivery and i gonna give you my feedback

Has anyone come across anything else that offers similar protection for the screen. Being vegetarian, I'd prefer to use something other than leather. I had hoped I would find a plastic or metal case with the flip front design, but I've not seen anything remotely like that.

I received my Proporta for 3weeks ago and my phone will started to become to go out more and more from cases grips ..
I went to the local shoemaker and sewed solid 2 pieces leatherstop at the bottom of the case.
Now ... much better than when I got the case

Could you post a picture please? Because I got mine yesterday and thought, that it will wear out soon. Now that you confirmed my fear I would like to know how your solution looks like.

I had Proporta Alu-leather case for my old HTC Cruise. Now I have Blackstone and I just ordered Alu-leather case again. It is great and PDA is safe even when you go home from pub ))

Htc does not slide over leather edge .. if you do not take....
Camera hole in the case is fixed so I am happy with the modifications.

proporta offers lifetime warrenty! just mail them your problem and they will offer you a new case - 4free
(provided your shoemaker didn't modify it 2 much)
Does the case grip affect the Invisible Shield layer on the phone? and how thick is the case with the phone inside?

So far no damage, As for the thickness of it is ok , and no needs such modifications, holders well kept, at least with me

I am about to get my Tilt 2 and I want to protect it. My first question is: should I get a case and a shield for the screen, or just the GadgetSheilds for my phone?
Secondly, my phone is an American AT&T Tilt 2, what cases are there aside from the Praetorian? I would love to have the Seidio case. If this case won't fit on my phone, are there any that look the same that would?
PS: I did look at the rubberized cases thread, but it kind of confused me. Thank you.

Go for a silicone case!
Don't get a hard rubberised one get a soft silicone. The simple rule is that a sharper material will scratch a weaker one.
My $2 dollar hard rubberized case became slightly loose and scratched my new $1000 TP2 to high hell. And I am one of the most careful people about these things.

I've had them both, and I would recommend Ghost Armor before Zagg Invisashield. That is unless you like a sticky touch screen, a bumpy "orange peel" finish, and a discolored screen.

I purchased a Monaco Aluminum case and I like the way it looks and feels, but I won't use it. There is no way I'm trusting my $350 phone to that friction clasp. I can just see me wearing the phone on my belt and something catching on the clasp, opening the case and dumping the phone out in a parking lot. The clasp just isn't secure enough for me. Wish I had noticed it before I made the purchase.
Are there any silicon cases? I only know of the Praetorian as far as the ATT Tilt 2 goes.
I received a Clairview screen protector and it is labeled Touch 2 on packaging, Touch 2/Tilt 2 on the receipt, but it definitely doesn't fit right. Anyone else have this problem? Is it just a mistake or do they not make one for the ATT TIlt 2? What's the opinion of Clairview elsewise?
Lastly, what is the best full-body screen protector, do they cover the chrome around the edge, and can you notice they are on at all?

Agreed. I had the same style case for the original Tilt, and dumped it out a few times because i was walking and it managed to free itself. I use this one on my Tilt 2, but I don't use the belt clip at all. Just goes straight in the pocket. Besides that, the only thing I can complain about it, is how there really isn't much room to touch on the edges of the screen & the sensor at the top to turn off the screen during a phone call is blocked - but nothing a dremel can't fix!

I concur Bodyglove case it's sturdy and well designed. Like he said it hasn't scratch my device. The back cover makes it a thick phone not as thick as having an extended battery with the cover. The screen has a Case-mate protector film it's really good quality. Both my TP2 and it's case are from US Cellular.
I bought a cheap gel case off eBay, and I was happy with it for the price. I also bought an official HTC screen protector, which is great. The only problem I have found is that the sides of the gel case have a habit of pressing against the edge of the screen protector. After a while, the screen protector started peeling up along the left and right edges. I tried trimming the protector a little to prevent this, and now I have an awful scruffy looking screen protector that is still peeling up - LOL. Anyone have the same problems as me? I think maybe my case doesn't fit tightly enough, or perhaps it did and now it has stretched?
[UPDATE]: I bought a Capdase case which came with its own screen protector, and together the two items work perfectly. The case is a way better fit that other gel cases I have bought, with no loose parts or slack at all. It also looks slimmer than previous gel cases I have tried. I _highly_ recommend the Capdase case as the way to go if a gel case is what you want for your Hero.

You might have to work out where you can buy one yourself though Think I got mine off eBay. I've had mine for 9 months or so now, and I still love it. It's wearing very well. Still 100% recommended.

I thought it might go out of stock after people realized it was on Amazon. As stated in my op - the one I ordered from China off ebay is a little to loose. The cutouts are great but I'm looking for something a little tighter.
I can't see the price since it's unavailable. How much did you guys buy it for? Was it better than Sikai's price of $17.00?
I'm not so sure on the design. Back looks kind of weird, Sikai has a grippy texture like micro-cobblestone. Also the Sikai case comes up around the trim of the screen farther than this one. This one looks like an iPad silicone case I bought a year ago that had this thin lip where the edges are and it would fall out extremely easily.
The Sikai case isn't loose at all, it might be based on when you bought it or what color but the clear one I bought is tight as a glove with literally no probability of falling out even holding it one handed. It's very well made.
Case is $10.95 and I have Amazon Prime so shipping was free for me. Maybe I should have phrased my comments regarding the Sikai case differently. I do like the texture of the Sikai case and how much of the TF it actually covers but when I go to pull it out of my bag the edge along the face moves way too easily. Granted it isn't loose to the point of it falling off on its own but it also shouldn't come out with a minor movement - only if I'm trying to remove it intentionally.

The good thing about this silicone case is it also fits the keyboard dock, given you're willing to do some cutting. So, I got 2 pieces, one covering the tablet and one covering the keyboard dock. I'll post a picture tomorrow as I'm too lazy now.
Iso, when you get it can you do a review side by side with the Sikai case and point out the differences and faults?

Nope that is the case for this case. Because of the weight it presses down against your finger that naturally rests by the charging port and strains it. I have the case but only use it when I need it.

Spigen Liquid Air is really nice. It's not bulky/heavy and it provides pretty decent protection
can confirm that cases like spigen tough armor can hurt your hand specifically the thumb part due to weight, I remove my case whenever I use it while in bed, I also installed a skin on my 6T to avoid scratching the glass when going naked, I recommend this one from aliexpress:

i second that. I ditched my OEM cases the second i put the Liquid Air on. the only flaw so far is a rough edge on the back where the soft plastic meets hard plastic. it could be a bit more grippy, but the triangle pattern is better than the ones i had on my axon 7s Spigen cases i loved as they were slick af on the back. i have dropped my phone multiple times in that case with a Skinomi and with a Dbrand screen protector. The combos saved my phone. The SPs not so much, but between the case and those, my OP6t is still minty.

I went with the poetic case, for 360deg protection, after having a wife proof case on my pixel XL.
I exacto'd off the charging port cover because I didn't like how the cover pressed against the USB cable and caused pressure on the port.
Only downside of the case is that it's not a sealed case like the other, and occasionally I'll take it apart to clean it out. The kickstand predictably broke, but that's to be expected since it's plastic and mounts with a few pins.

I have the OEM nylon case and I have the same issue too. Holding the phone in portrait for a long time hurts my hands. That's why I always take off the case when I'm lying down, but the phone becomes slippery. I'm going to install a skin on this phone, so it's not slippery when naked.
Figured I would chime in on this since I just returned my spigen tough armor.
I liked the case for protection. Had a decent screen side lip and good protection for the camera also.
However, the buttons for me were the worst part. They blend in to the side of the case to where you can't find them in the dark easily at all. The case is bulkier then a slim case but thats to be expected, it didn't bother me that much.
The kickstand was also very weak and doesn't work in portrait. I returned it and got a case that was 1/3 the price and is a little better IMO.
