Cant open market anymore. help! - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im running cm9 nightlies and recently i tried installing a theme. I got stuck with a boot loop and eventually fixed it.
But what i noticed is that my market was missing. So i tried installing a modified market. but that failed. Then i tried reinstalling gapps thru cwm but still no luck. The market still crashes.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

go to settings , apps, play store, clear updates and data .. try again.

How did you flash it? Did you do it through ROM Manager? Did you wipe data and cache? Something's not quite right, the bloatware should be gone.
i am having the same issue. are you also missing stuff like the notification power control widget?
io flashed mine from cwm and wiped everything.

i booted into ClockworkMod
everything now appears to be as expected for the ROM
thanks for your help.
it looks like this worked. when it first boots though the wallpaper is black with a red streak but then changes to the default wallpaper from stock. is that normal?
That got me closer to everything being 100%. I installed Remix 1.6 and 1.6.2 and I noticed changes like the battery indicator and the market being black (very nice, btw), but I still have bloat & the notification bar is missing. Wiped Dalvic Cache both times, wiped data fully when I installed the main BAMF 1.6 at the start of this.

I had this same exact issue. The cause of mine was installing through ROM Manager. I was wiping everything that should be just like you are it sounds. The fix I found was rebooting into recovery and flashing manually. There is an option in ROM manager to reboot into recovery. Once you are into recover wipe data/cache three times. Wipe cache partition three times. Wipe Davlik Cache(Under advanced menu) three times. I usually wipe three just to be sure everything is clean before I flash. Flash 1.6. Now load 1.6.3(since it's out now) onto the SD card. Boot into recovery again, wipe cache partion and davlik cache three times. Install 1.6.3.

I did the install through the ROM manager, so I'm hoping your solution works out. I'll give it a try this evening. Thanks for the suggestion!

Actually I just looked and 1.6.3 is an entire rom instead of a patch so you can skip flashing 1.6. And just flash 1.6.3 after wiping data/cache/davlik cache.

I had the same issue and this worked for me. I just reflashed 1.6.3 directly from CWR (after wiping everything 3x) and everything worked correctly (notification widget, etc.)
thanks for the help
I am glad I found this, I had this same issue and it was driving me nuts. I'm reinstalling now and hopefully everything just comes out perfect.
I am adding this to my list of why I don't like RM.

[Q] 921 error in market

After I flash any also or aokp so cm9 or paradox rom all of my apps fail to download and I get a 921 error in market place. However when ever I flash a Samsung based rom everything works fine. I have done everything I can think of eq. Full wipe, format system, gapps fixer, clear market cache/data, older gapps and nothing works. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan

wipe cache and dalvik cache and you are done
I've tried flashing, reflashing, wiping davilk cache/cache, factory reset, flashing siyah... nothing works...
EDIT: I got it working by clearing the market's data and then rebooting.
Try clear data from Download Manager, Market restart the phone and try again.
i have the same problem. when i installed the rom it was a clean install. also tried the advice from allocen and still the same

Constant Crashing

Hello..
I had a new Note I717 and rooted it. The new ICS would work fine initially but then gradually a program or 2 or 3 or 4 ... would start crashing/not open/Phone freezing. So I tried a new ICS and after initially working fine, the same thing would happen. After this happening with 3 different ICS ROMS that were supposedly stable, I decided to go back to my original saved ROM on CWM and Gingerbread and have a working phone.. then that started the same thing happening to where I cant even open settings as that crashes upon opening.
I am thinking it must be some underlying code that has been corrupted. I am conscious to wipe both cache including the davlik cache and previous version before installing anything yet this keeps happening.
Any suggestions?
Reflash your rom but before you flash it. Wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache and also format system. It's under mount and storage in recovery. When you have done that flash your rom.
When you're booted if you use any app like titanium backup, just restore the app ONLY NO DATA.
This has worked for me maybe it will for you

Bootloop everytime....

Hi Everyone,
I keep getting a boot-loop after installing ANY custom ROM. I factory wipe, clear cache and dalvik cache, THEN i install the zip and gapps, then I factotry wipe, clear cache and dalvik cache AGAIN. It loads the boot screen, whether its CM10 or ParanoidAndroid, and then at the "welcome" screen, it reboots after 2 seconds. It just keeps looping.....any ideas?
try formatting system before flashing
just format system or cache and data as well? and do I do that before I wipe or after i wipe everything?
format system/data/cache, then flash
ok, I only did system and cache, and it still is rebooting constantly, i'll try it with formatting data.
which Rom are you trying to install?

Paranoid Android.
Wrong gapps version??
I tried doing it without gapps, I'm still getting a restart after everytime I get the lock screen on EVERY ROM i try to install....don't know what the problem is with my phone, it's happening with EVERY ROM. Is it because my baseband/firmware stuff isn't uniform?
Product Code: GT-I9300RWD(INU) (India i think)
PDA: I9300XXBLH1
Phone: I9300XXLFB
CSC: I9300ODDBLG2
Download the ROM AGAIN and this time download the OLDER version and keep your eyes on the download especially you are downloading from chrome. sometimes the problem is in the downloaded rom its self. and than make a factory Reset and then install the rom and than factory reset again than reboot the phone. Hope it works. I just did it yesterday. I also had boot loop. I tried to restore backup, install the newer ROM nothing worked. than I tried that and it worked....
what do you mean download again and download the older version? I've tried every combination of factory reset/wipe/dalvik cache/reset/install/reset/cache/dalvik, etc....

Download the ROM from internet again. this time try the older version of the ROM that you want to install.
EXAMPLE: I wanted to install Omega v26.1 and I went to boot loop. I tried everything to flash the newer version, I also tried to restore the nandroid backup. nothing worked. so I downloaded Omega V13 and than I did factory reset than I installed omega v13. Worked like charm.
I hope it will work for you too...

You didn't wipe cashe + dalvik cash right??? Try to re install the rom, but first wipe your cashe and dalvik cashe, then install the ROM, if you still have the same issue try a factory reset, but make a nandroid backup, and back up yur apps with titanium backup!!!!!!!!
