Wrong sd install now stuck on m logo with unlocked - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so before you all try to get on my case I know now I am suppose to install these roms from the internal sd.
problem is I tried to installed CM7 because I hate stock roms. I am not new to flashing since I have done it on the g2x, milestone 2, x8, transformer prime but this is the first to only allow me to install from internal sd
so anwyays I tried with no success. I wiped all and left my phone on over night maybe thinking it will take some time.
So at this moment I am charging the battery using the macguver method and also I think i need clockwork recovery 5 something something
right now I have version 4.0.14
So my main question is how do i send the rom i want to the internal sd and or is there a rom that I can install from any sd card?
just want to boot up, get my paid version of cwm, get cm7 on and have a wonderful time playing with this phone!
thanks!

Flash recovery-atrix5.img, clear davlik-cache, cleardata/factory reset, then reboot system

Hey I fixed it! I let the battery charge for like 30 min on the macguver way and then I used the auto unlocked v4.2 and then, I downloaded cwm 5.020 and renamed the same as what the auto unlocker had which was like 4.9 something, open auto unlocker and selected flash cwm.
Then I wiped data and cache. Installed cm7 from ext sd. Wiped cache again. Rebooted and now it's perfect.
Would have wrote and Better response but I am on a phone!

couple rez questions

hi all..just got my rezound last week updated from droid x..loving phone so far but have a few questions..im currently on the leak ics rooted amon ra rec.and running clean rom 4.3.. my questions are..
1..when i mount the sd cards i have the internal and external sd..is it normal to have the ext sd folder in the internal sd..i tried deleting folder and comes back..the reason for my question is i was deleting apps and deleted something i shouldnt have so i booted into recovery wiped cach, dalvik, and internal so i could reflash the rom but didnt wipe data cuz wanted to keep my files i had on there..good thing cuz i did that and then my ext sd was wiped..so got back in mounted sd put rom back and just flashed in recovery but is it normal..
2..next is being im on the leaked ics..if i flash the sysver fix that resets to1.00 whatever can i then safely flas a gb rom?i know i cant do a gb ruu because of updated firmware..and if i can flash a gb rom do i keep the kernel im on or is it ok to flash whatever kernel the rom dev recommends..
3..lastly on my old dx if i screwed something up bad enough and couldnt get back into os i could sbf which would bring me back to factory settings like flashing a ruu..can this be done on the rez from a pc if i screwed up and couldnt get into rom or if the ext sd got wiped like what happend before.
thanks and sorry for long post first htc device way different from the moto..i tried searching but couldnt really answer those if someone could answer or atleast point me in the right direction id appreciate it..
1. Yes
2. Supposedly
3. Yes if you have the RUU in .exe format(some of the older ones were .exe's)

ok thank you for the info...so then internal sd will only be formatted if manually told to do so in recovery..wiping system data and cache will not touch that then correct? how about when flashing ruu as i understand it wipes internal when doing so? would it have any effect on the ruu running or it keeps that?thanks again

can not install ics of any rom

hi everyone well last week ive tried many times over to install ics rom over my gingerbread and everytime this is what i get after i have completed followed the steps of how to upgrade to ics rom....when its trying to install the sd card can not be mounted...and repeats it many times over...so then i put phone into recovery so i can reboot...and it rebooted into the ics rom which i dont know how, but now my sd card is damaged and cant mount so i lose all my info no biggy....after reformatting the sd card, its ok...so i figure i would start it again...same thing.....i even did the steps but left the sd card out where you are suppose to and put back in when needed...still the same thing cant read sd card on install and after reboot sd card damaged need formatted...so i dont know what else to think except that i just cant simply get it flashed to the ics roms of any kind properly...if anyone can help thanks
Should be moved to q&a section. You will get help there.

lol i dont know how to move it except just post new thread there
Sounds like you need a new SD card. Some of the stock cards don't play well with MTD based ROMs. I would probably get a Class 10 microSD card (be careful if you get 32gb, there are known problems with some of them)
I bought http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-microSDHC-Class-Memory-Adapter/dp/B0058GH4U0/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1335980268&sr=8-12 and have had no problems at all after!
You are flashing the THS build 2 first right? You have to flash that rom, then reboot to recovery by holding down the power button wile your in the OS and select the recovery option after that you'll be in a compatible version of CWM. Flash AOKP M5 from there.

[Q] help. another noob has bricked his device.

so I was in the process of installing JB on my gs2, backed up my device, everything was fine. until I factory resetted before flashing CM10, now I have no software on my device and I can't connect it to the computer to put a ROM across. so I went searching and found this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585494
and followed the instructions, but my computer won't install the drivers. I have also played around in device manager with this. So I resorted to an old 2gb ext sd card I had lying around thinking I would put CM10 on that, but the zip file being 155mb, doesn't want to install on a 2GB sd card. would my phone have recognised it any way? I have also tried droid explorer but I am in way over my head with that.
what do I do please? this has been the past 4 hours of my night and I'm running out of options.

EDIT******
so I simply, out of curiousity, restored the backup I did though CWM and it worked! *facepalm* but I thought it would have deleted it all off the memory since I did a factory reset? but anyway, it's working and I'm putting CM10 and GAPPS on now and then going to flash first this time!!

Wipe Data / factory reset doesn't format your internal SD card

[Q] Using SuperWipe and installing a new ROM

Evening and thanks for reading my thread!
I am a new user to Android and just picked up my Galaxy S3 today. I already read some information and decided I wanted to theme my Android device, just like I did with my old iPhone 4. I wanted to install the Android Revolution HD ROM. As per suggested I used the SuperWipe zip first to remove the stock ROM and then wanted to install the new one. I forgot to pick up a external SD card at the shop today, so I thought I'd wipe the phone using SuperWipe, connect it back to the PC and put the 700MB Revolution ROM on the internal memory card and flash it from recovery mode. However, now I can't seem to get my Galaxy S3 connected to the PC at this point.
Is this the result of me being a dummy or am I doing something wrong. I had the intention to pick up a SD card tomorrow, however I'm kinda puzzeled on what to do now.
Thanks for reading and hopefully someone can offer me some advice!
I never use superwipe and never will just because i dont need it,you can wipe your data from recovery and some roms come with superwipe so i dont think its needed.i may be wrong

Never use superwipe, I know too many people, who have f***ed up their devices with that cr*p..
Just wipe your device normally, with CWM and everything will work fine. I have never used superwipe, and I'm glad I didn't even consider it..
Even if you are using an AROMA ROM, don't in fact NEVER use Super Wipe
Anyways, hope I didn't scare you too much.Just wanted to make you caucious

Hi, personally i've used superwipe on many many occasions without any issues, all it does is re-formats some of the partitions like the /system, /data and others. Thats why you wont be able to boot into you rom again as there is no rom on you phone. As far as i know there are two possible ways(there may be more but i've used one of these methods lots of times.). One is to use an external sd card like you intend to do. Or you can use adb(this is my preferred method). You can find instructions to download and install adb online. Once you have adb you can simply use the "adb push" command to copy the zip file from your pc to you internal sd card, then flash the zip as per the instructions.

[Q] Help please

Hi guys,
I can't work out why but when I go to wipe all settings then install custom rom from zip file in cmw recovery, it completes normally but after the reboot it just stays on the android bot. I went back into recovery and managed the phone through usb to my PC & saw that in the phone storage there was nothing where there is obviously supposed to be boot files. I have installed this custom rom before & it has been no problem. I also have tried a few other roms (all that i've tried before & they all work) and the same thing happens. I have found one rom that worked strangley and when I manged the phone on my PC i saw that it has placed the boot files on the sd card (not the phone storage).
how can i fix this.
i am very new to rooting so please no complicated talk
can someone not help? this is a big issue.
ill try and explain the problem in more detail below...
i have been messing with my phone lately using CMW TOUCH to wipe my data then install rom from zip. everything was going great until now.
i want to install a rom (that i have installed before.so i know its compatible with my phone), i go through tge same procedure of wiping data then installing from zip.all goes the way it should with it telling me its installing from zip, after a while it tells me to reboot the phone. when i do all that happens is it stay on the green android bot for 1 min then reboots. i went into CMW TOUCH to connect phone to pc & found out that it installed nothing, nothing on the phone storage and on the sd card except the custom rom.
i have tried this with few other roms all with the same results.
NOW...
ive managed to find a rom that will install so it is functional all except recently after a reboot it has stopped detecting the sim, weird.
i connected the phone to my pc to find that all boot files are stored on the sd card not phone storage like it used to.
i had an idea that i will try later today and that is to move the custom rom over to the phone storage from the sd card. remove the sd card during install. maybe that will force the install to use the phone storage for the boot files
will let you know the outcome
jamos
i have just tried to install the rom with the sdcard removed from phone & the same thing happened. even though during the installation it tells me that it is formatting system then installing it installs nothing to the phone storage.
