[Q] [MOD REQUEST] Top bar light adjust (like on S2) - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Galaxy S2 had this nice feature where you could adjust the screen backlight by sliding the finger left or right on the top bar.
The main need for this comes from a way too agressive backlight adjustment when in auto. Raising the level in normal lighting condition would be a different solution to the problem I guess.
Hope it's doable on S3?

Night Mode / Screen Dimmer

I would like to use my 8525 in place of an alarm clock on my nightstand. But when I have it upright in a dock, the backlight is too bright to function as a night time clock, even when on its dimmest setting. Does anyone know of a way to dim the backlight lower than its lowest setting the backlight control panel? Is there are program similar to the "night mode" that some astronomy programs so you can use your device without affecting your night vision. Vito Astronavigator II has such a feature, but it only works when Astronavigator is displayed. If you switch to the Today screen, the display returns to the normal brightness setting.
Thanks.

[Q] Wanted Feature: Really Low Screen Brightness (like found in the alarm clock app)

Hi everyone,
I have been testing a lot of different custom ROMs for my X10 but so far I have not come across a single one that 1) support the advanced CM backlight settings successfully allowing the backlight to be set below 15/255 2) any market app that would achieve the same thing i.e. lower the backlight to lower than what is achievable through the normal settings slider. Screen Filter is not good, it only lowers the color brightness but the backlight still burns your eyes. My HTC Hero supported the CM settings and it is the only thing i miss after my transition to the otherwise glorious X10.

[Q] Two auto brightness settings?

Hi, I have an I9100G, with rooted stock ROM, firmware DZKI1, Android 2.3.5. I'm just curious about a couple of items in the Display settings. There's an option called Brightness - Adjust the brightness of the screen, and when we click it, we can adjust the brightness or select the checkbox for Automatic brightness. On the same screen, a bit further down, there's another setting for Auto adjust screen power - Save power by analyzing image and adjusting LCD brightness. Anybody knows what's the difference between the two?
One uses an external light sensor to adjust for lighting conditions.
the other uses an internal sensor to adjust the colour display depending on the background of the graphic and how many colours are used.

[Q-FLYER] More Backlight levels [solved]

Is there a possibility/tweak to get more than the 3 levels for backlight settings?
settings>screen>brightness. Brings up a slider bar for me on the View, and I think it was the same on my Flyer.
Edit: on my GB flyer it is display instead of screen. You have to uncheck auto-brightness.
Thanks butterflygirl
How stupid of me, I was using the brightness widget

Lock Screen Brightness - can you control it?

I've noticed that the lock screen of my S3 is brighter & has less contrast by default. Especially when setting a dark Homescreen/lockscreen I notice the lock screen is much brighter (esp around the bottom and top of the screen) so is not effected by the brightness setting I'm using. I was wondering if this is how all the S3's are and if there is any way to control this without rooting? I have a stock AT&T S3
Anyone?
