Help me decide! Keep Titan 2 or get Nokia Lumia 900? - HTC Titan

Hey guys! I just got my titan 2 and love it. Works flawlessly. Buy coming from a galaxy note with an amoled screen, I really miss it. The nokia to me has a better screen to me. But as far as phones, which is better? I don't want to give up a great working phone for one that might have a problem. Please give me ur opinions. Thanks!

Keep them both ;-) Yes the Nokia Lumia 900 does have a better screen but to be honest I didn't notice too much of a difference compared to my Titan.

Lol !

I would keep the Titan II simply due up the larger screen and the better camera.

LMAO!

Have a Lumia 900, selling it and got a Titan II. The main thing I'm going to miss are the exclusive Nokia apps (Drive, Maps, etc). The reason I am switching is because the Titan II uses a regular size SIM. I also have a GSM Galaxy Nexus which I use 90% of the time, and the Titan II is for occasional WP7 fun. It is no fun futzing with the micro-SIM, even with the German made SIM adapter I bought.
If it weren't for me being so heavily invested in Google and actually liking ICS, I'd get the Lumia if it was my only phone. Nokia is the only WP7 manufacturer taking their userbase seriously. Updates are released all the time and they are way on top of making the experience very good.
HTC and Samsung? They made the phones, released them and that's about it. Android is where their heart is, not so with Nokia.

[Request] Nokia Lumia 800 fora

The Nokia Lumia 800 is more or less the flagship windows phone device and 25,000 of them will be given to developers to spark some real developer interest. Some of these very developers are likely XDA members and with some devices shipping soon there's no time like the present to add a forum. I'll be getting mine in a week or so and would love to have a place to post a video of the phone, unboxing, comparison, breakdown, whatever.

I like WP7 and Android , it's just that my heartless phone shop sold out all its WP7 phones so I went with the Galaxy Ace (instead of the Desire HD for an unknown and stupid reason , what was I thinking ?)

What are the specs ?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
Wp7 isn't all about specs like android. That's something using an android trains you to ask. That said, 1.4 GHz snapdragon, 3.7 inch screen, Carl Zeiss lens on an 8 megapixel camera. Amoled clear black display, polycarbonate unibody, pure sexiness.
Btw, 1.4GHz is unusual for WP7 devices, they usually run on 1GHz processors so this is welcome. For more details check out http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_lumia_800-4240.php for a full specs sheet, although keep in mind numbers don't tell the whole story.
Also 512MB of RAM, seems low compared to Tegra 2 devices and such but it is more than enough for a WP7 device.
If I had the money, I'd either go for an N9 or this for a phone and get a 7" Android tablet. Anyway, looking forward to watching the Lumia, it's time Nokia gets some love after all these years rofl.

Another stupid move by Nokia. Not releasing it on Verizon toa wider audience wont help Nokia gain any kind of marketshare here in the US. I realize it is also Verizon's fault but my guess is Nokia may have been asking for unrealistic terms. Either way glad it has finally been announced on ATT and cant wait to get my hands on one.

Ditch Note 2 for HTC One?

Hello,
I really like the Note 2, I've gone back to it two times already, once from a Iphone 5, and the 2nd from a Lumia 920. The lumia 920 was great for photos, but the windows UI was extremely boring. I hardly use the S-pen as well, I just like the big screen. But I do have a small wifi problem with my note 2 right now, in which a new replacement is coming in soon. Any Note 2 users out there planning to ditch and get the HTC One?

Over the past year I have carried every major new phone in AT&Ts lineup and this is the first one I have been truly excited about. I haven't been able to put it down. The Note 2 was significantly better than the Note, but can't hold up the jock strap of the One. Screen size is the only this the Note has going for it, the screen resolution on the One is ridiculous and more than makes up for the size.
Quality over size. And yes, that is what she said.

i can't ditch the Note 2. to date, it's the best android phone/device i've used. it's a great work phone (e.g, i use the S-Pen quite often, sign lots of documents, draw on other documents) and for my usage pattern, battery life is superb. that said, i cannot pass up the HTC One! i'm wondering how well i'll adjust to a slightly smaller screen...
dont do it u going to miss amazing screen amazing battery life removal sdcard and unlock bootloader if you flash a lot of rom

Yeah it is sad to see, but Samsung is a monster when it comes to marketing budgets they had a slim chance to compete. I hope they pull through and continue pushing samsung and other Android devices to their limits. I have high hopes for this company
I also worry that articles like this will only hurt... people who are on the fence will read that and go with Samsung...
Personally I think they are going in the right direction getting rid of dead weight and poor performers.

I don't see the company going down. I believe they will do fine in the long run, they're just having a bit of a rough spot.
The HTC One is selling well. From here on out they should be fine.
If not Samsung will probably buy them out and HTC can design the phone while Samsung focuses on the guts.

Agreed. I've always had good experiences with call and signal quality with Nokia, from the 6820 and other TDMA phones back in the late 90s and early 00s to the Symbian-based stuff from a while back. If they put some quality Android-based phones together and offered them with a decent custom interface (like Sense) and unlocked, I think they'd make a pretty strong showing.

Ha, I have its big brother the Nokia 6800. That's not a typo, I still have it right here on my desk
I couldn't help but thinking that I have this power to kill phone manufacturers.
My first cell phone back in the mid 90s was the Siemens S3+ and then briefly the S4 (I bet not a lot of people here even know that Siemens used to make cell phones).
After that, I had a couple of Ericsson phones, the GH 337 and the GF 788 (you know how that story ends, they were swallowed by Sony, and then dumped).
Right after that, I became a huge Nokia + Symbian fanboy, the 6800, 6620, N80, E51, E63, E75 (and look at what happened to Nokia and Symbian).
Then three years ago I bought a Dell Streak (the first android phone with 5" screen that nobody really knows about. the following year, Dell stopped making phones).
Finally last week I got myself an HTC One. Look out HTC!!

I mostly agree with your statement, but I believe it will take more than one flagship to get them turned around and charging towards the front. Maybe after 1 or 2 more flagship they will really be doing well. I just can't see one phone having enough time to turn an entire company around. Especially after they bombed out hard with the HTC First. That was a huge mistake for them to try and even sell that phone.

It means that there will be a vanilla htc one or one like device and because of that the devs will (hopefully) be able to make aosp/aokp roms with very few to no bugs at all. Basically it's makes the job easier for the devs and the experience better for us.

Ever since I switched to Android, all I had were Samsungs...this is my first HTC android device and Im loving it so far. So to read articles about HTC and the tough times they're having is saddening. Samsung is the Apple of androids...the galaxy line is well known which is both bad and good. I really hope the HTC One can and will save this company because we need beautiful phones in the variety of androids. I like having choices!

Need help deciding on a phone

Galaxy S4 is close to my ideal phone, but I refuse to back a monopolist, judge me.
HTC One has fantastic build quality, when you get one that doesn't have monumental flaws and have to return it multiple times.
LG Optimus G Pro has no roms and the bootloader is locked tight for now it seems.
The HTC Max looks really square shaped.
Sony unveils products tomorrow, but who knows when they will release.
Is there a high end motorola phone coming? Is the Optimus G2 set to release soon? I need input and I have nothing to go off of.
Looking at your list, i would suggest you go for htc one. It is way better than s4 and g2..
I have personally used s4 and one for quite some time now. The difference is clearly visible using some tools. Anyway, the decision is all yours good luck with your new purchase.

You know, everyone seems to care about device support but I don't. Not even a little. I keep my devices for 9-12 months. When I had an iPhone I would absolutely dread updates. They would mean that my phone would get slower and, although updated, I wouldn't have any access to the awesome new features.
