[Q] Is there a way to take pictures while recording a video? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi everyone! I'm curious if there's a way or app or whatever to take a photo and record a video at the same time (like in HTC One X). I've already searched google, play and the xda forum, sorry if I've slipped over a possible solution. Thank you in advance!

Its a feature of ICS

How much we should wait for sony's ICS release and kernel sources?
WE WANT ROMs and TWEAKS

Thanks for the info! And does that mean that I won't be able to do this until ICS is released for xperia s? Which is, as far as I know only due in around august or so?
@GR0s: according to Sony, ics won't be released for xperia s until the end of Q2

Yeah, and ICS is rumored to be out in a few weeks (see ICS thread in general for more info)

Q2 is end of 6 month.

TF Prime delay. Longer wait for ICS

Just read that the TF Prime will be delayed till the new year. That means the best source for ICS for us will have to wait.
Bummer.

You know, there's a rumor that the world will end tomorrow. Since it's a rumor, it must be true also.
I swear, people will believe everything they hear nowadays.

In that case (not wanting to sound ungrateful of the devs) why aren't we seeing ics even in alpha? Many other devices, including ones not getting official, have some sort of port.
Just a thought.

I realise that. My reason for putting it up here is I think the software on the new device will give us a head start in bringing it to our devices. Such has happened in the past.
Nexus s brought 2.3 to galaxy s before official release for example.
I think it will be a while yet until we see an official release.

Well i think we will get an offical update before we even get an working port of ics.....

Pretty sure it has to do with needing the source code for Tegra 2 drivers.
Most of the threads I've looked at for ICS ports, seem to amount to ICS AOSP using CM7 sources to fix crap or it boots but peace be with you if it's as functional as your toaster. But I will admit, I've only checked a few devices (of interest to me).

indeed. The port for my phone (desire z) is a port of a port (desire s). Not sure if that is ported from cm or what. Kernel is certainly based from cm though.

You wanna see a mess, go and read about the guys that waited for the 3.1 honeycomb for their Logitech Revue.
When I saw what a mess it made once you d/led it and you CANNOT reverse, I immeditaley unplugged the ethernet and sold the thing on Ebay while it was still working with 2.1
I am glad we have Asus as our manufacture, and I can wait.
I don't think the Prime will be coming with ICS on it anyways at release. Isn't it releasing with Honeycomb?

The Nexus S port is working pretty well. Only a couple little bugs but mostly everything critical to a smart phone is working.

Why waste your time trying to half-ass a port when Asus has always been awesome at providing updates and has already said ICS would be out before the end of the year?
Time is better spent porting ICS to devices that won't be getting it officially. In fact my Transformer runs so well right now, I'm leery of even thinking of upgrading to a new OS version (bugs). Honestly, throw an ICS theme on there and call it a day.

Why no custom ROM's for xperia S ?

I was going to buy an Xperia S, but as i opened the development thread, i was shocked to see that there were only 3-4 custom Roms and only 2 were the ones which get constantly updated...?
SXS is sony flagship device, it should have got so many custom Roms till date, but it isn't really the case..
Can anyone explain why ?

Sale is almost a direct corrilation of amount of custom roms. Xperias aren't selling well.

[Xperia P] Is it just me or.........

Hello
I'm a glad Sony Xperia P user, wich have looked forward to the ICS update in quater 2, but as we all know the update has not been released yet.
Every day I get more and more confused about this....
I've tried to ask on Sony Mobile's Facebook page, their forum (talk.sonymobile.com) and every time they either post a link to this post on their blog http://blogs.sonymobile.com/product...ream-sandwich-rollout-for-xperia-smartphones/ wich as you see is from may. And it says nothing about the rollout for Xperia P, or they tell you to go to their Product Blog (same blog as the link above) and what you find there? Nothing but marketing things..... If you go to the specification page http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/phones/xperia-p/specifications/ they still haven't changed the text "Upgrade to Android 4, Ice Cream Sandwich, planned in Quarter 2 2012" although that we are faaaaaaaaaaar away from quater 2.
Secondly i'm pissed of over that Sony not even post an update on the development on the ICS update.....
Do you follow me or not?
Great weekend to you
A confused Xperia P user
To be honest my friend, I wouldn't hold much hope of ics on the p until late august and even possibly September.
The ics update for the xperia s is an unfinished product that still needs quite a few fixes.
Their performance in 2012 as far as software goes has pretty much shown that they are just poor on software. I rather say that than to think they do this deliberately to limit the number of upgrades they provide.
Learn the lesson now... Never take their word for it as far as upgrades go. They deliberately mislead. I gave them the benefit of the doubt after the x10 debacle but they have shown they don't deserve it
Don't but Sony for software especially android software. You'll be very frustratingly disappointed if you do.

Xperia tablet release 3 vs current

Greetings everyone,
One question please,
Today I was out for shopping and I saw a demo xpeia tablet and played a bit with it, I went to settings and the version was release 3, I dont know if it was my mind but it felt faster and with no animations of ics, I mean when opening leaving from an app, when I got my tablet I updated to 6b and never tried any other versions, any comments?
Thanks
Vatis

I've noticed no change between releases except the fixes they've included. I bought my device on the day it was released and so had the initial firmware.
The tablet runs surprisingly smooth on ICS.. I dont think theres a real difference in the releases.
Thanks for your replies mates.

Share your thoughts about Android 5 Key Lime Pie

i openned this thread to share your opinions and thoughts abour KLP ,
do you guys think we can get the update officialy from sony ?
like xperia X10i ?
i would say it could be possible , because sony updated the x10i from 1.6 to 2.1 and they thought to update to 2.2 Froyo , but they skipped the update ,, and suddenly they released 2.3 GB..
you guys think sony skip JB update and bring us KLP ? , because KLP also requires lesser source and hardware
..
99.99% Sony will not make it for us (they don't even fix current bugs). We can only hope custom roms will work without serious bugs.

Hoping our experienced developers will bring us roms with klp!!

Don't expect klp officially, tell me onething how could you expect klp officially,If we get custom Rom also I would be happy when it released, may expect release in October...Google planning to release 4.3 in July no major difference in ui but analysts say lot code changes internally...
It won't happen before all Oems upgrade to 4.3 and afaik Google is giving more time to them and about Klp, I doubt it's possibility on any of our 2011 devices if any of hardware requirements change.... And devs have been or only hope since the early days for our devices.. After all, let's be frank.. SONY just gave us ICS.. But devs provided us with 4.2.2, Ubuntu which I personally had not even imagined of on our little devices
