u can flip it around.. u can turn the phone around and it works

Flip the phone over. The kickstand is spring loaded and will work either way.

A lot of kickstand phones are like this, photon, thunderbolt, some others. But with ours you can turn it over and the stand still works while charging.

Lol.. thx never even thought of trying that.. too funny.. but would still he better if opposite in my opinion

Nah, then it would be more awkward to turn it and set it down in landscape if you're right-handed. And you can't move the charger port, the volume rocker is on the other side. And you can't put it on the bottom because . . . um . . . hmm.

Sux to be left handed on this phone, lol, but yeah, the kickstand holds in three positions...
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium

I am left handed and actually once you get used to it(the way MOST devices are and have always been for me) it isn't a big deal. It is awkward to have the capacitive touch buttons on the left side when in landscape tbh. I like it when they are accessible with my right hand.

I suspect the other reason the charging port is there is for the htc car dock and whatever future desk docks they make.

In case someone else ever stumbles upon this thread and doesn't understand what we mean by 'flip it upside down':

These pictures are of i9100, but we have this part too.
Looking at the second picture it seems to be some kind of antenna but disconnected.
Source
Its the antenna that connects to the contacts on the back of the battery cover.
I cam over from Captivate. It had one of those too. I think I remember reading that someone had found that it was for some kind of external antenna but then I think he said it ended up screwing up his phone pretty bad. You might be able to find it in the Captivate forum. I'll see if i can.

But there are no contacts on the battery cover... are there different battery covers for this phone on the market?

Thanks for that! That's answers my question.
It's a factory test connector - 50%+ of people who try to use it wind up permanently damaging their phone. There's a tiny little switch in there that disables the built-in antenna, and it's easy to damage this switch and get it stuck in the "no internal antenna" state.
Its the LTE antenna.
then how come we dont have LTE?

Really? I remember in Captivate it was a ground connector, not an athenna.
Also shouldn't LTE athenna be part of the cellular athenna in bottom? (Moreover we dont have LTE baseband...)

I believe there's already a thread about this in i777 unless I'm mixing it you with the captivate as mentioned before. Its some sort of external antenna but it does screw up your phone if you use it. I don't remember details

Kickstand kicks a$$

It really impressed me that after all this damage the kickstand still works perfectly (obviously nothing else does though). Actually that's not true, the camera button works as well. Really nice bit of engineering on the kickstand though.

Power button scratched easily

After looking at the power button under light I can see a ton of very small scratches, I have only had the phone for two days so it seems a bit crazy. Anyone else see similar scratches on the powerbutton/IR?

I'm simply pointing out what I'm experiencing with my new phone and noticed that no one has really mentioned this. I know it's not a terribly serious issue, but that doesn't give you the right to be an ass.

Bumper makes your Note 3 seems like a big iPhone 5S!!

Come across this case and beyond my sense if it's a wired design, armed with a tpu cover inside and a metal bumper external, esp. the curve makes the Galaxy Note 3 seems like a big iPhone as you could see here:

IKR. Besides why would you want the awesome phone to look like an iPhone. Anyone who isn't blind or gone full retard should be able to tell by size it isn't an iPhone. Besides what's up with that gaping hole in back.

Hey the Note 3 is a sexy modern device lets say we make it look like something out of Logan's run so it can be not sexy and pseudo modern. We can get Andy Warhol to design it.
Have yet to see an attractive bumper. This is one is the worst of all by far.

This fell into my lap during frist time assembly. Can anyone give me a pointer?
It has fallen off the slot where the charger plugs in. It sits on the back part of the case and helps it's quite self evident how it fits due to the curve. My one did exactly the same

I hate when i buy something new and something falls off... sadly, i usually throw it away too after a very small amount trying to identify the piece.
