I heard a lot of people talking about this kob4lt theme. took me some time to find it all. I wanted to post a kinda central location for it. Many Thanks to kr3g3r for his work on the theme and to DAGr8 for the inverted apps!
so here you go:
info on the kob4lt theme:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1670139
Flash the kob4lt first in CWM, and then flash the inverted AOSP apps
Here is the inverted app location (This will invert everything, The only inverted app that is required is the inverted contacts app to fix the dialer size):
http://www.androtransfer.com/DAGr8/INVERTED_APP_KIT_AOSP_Widgets.zip
Link above is from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1581065
As paleh0rse pointed out below (thanks btw!):
In order to get your Galaxy Note settings options back...replace the current settings.apk file with the one from your ROM zip AFTER you flashed kob4lt.
The only inverted app that is required is the inverted contacts app to fix the dialer size. Please see palh0rse's post below for location.
Thanks again to the above mentioned and paleh0rse

You're also going to want to replace your settings.apk file with the one from your rom's zip AFTER you flash kob4LT in order to get your Note settings options back.
And the only inverted app that is required is the inverted contacts app (to fix dialer size).
I flashed this one:
http://db.tt/qhhABZ76

You should also change the thread title so that people know this works on any of the i717 UCLE2 roms based on the leak -- not just Goldie.
I'm personally running it on FJbuild5.

Yep, just inverted contacts -- any version of which should work.

Good idea to create a centralized place for this, Enzo319. Thanks for all your help, too, Paleh0rse. This should help a bunch of folks and give a nice blue look to their ROMs.

Be warned. After installing inverted contacts you may not be able to enter dates for Events (birthdays, anniversary) for the contacts or the contacts app will FC.
Has anybody tried any of the other inverted apps and did they work correctly without any glitches?

will this work on any of the CM9 releases?
thanks

Mine doesn't FC when entering events, so maybe something else is causing your issue...? What ROM are you using?

Really? Using the OnlyOne ROM v4. I seen a few others mention it too and thought it was a given. Events added before are listed fine for the contacts. If I edit the contacts on line the events are synced perfectly fine to my phone. I select "add another field" then "events". I can change Birthday to any other selection but when I select "Date" it immediately FC.
Edit: Just discovered something else that may be related. All my contacts are Google contacts. But only half of them will have the "Events" selection available when selecting "Add another field." Any idea on that?
Edit2: If the contact only has 1 field for phone number filled in then selections to be added are: Phonetic name, Email, IM, Address, Notes, Nickname, Website, and Internet call. But if the contact has phone number and another field such as address I now get other fields: Events and Relationship. Doesn't make sense to me. But in any case adding a date for events brings up a FC.

Just for ****s and giggles, try using GO Contacts EX to make the same changes and let me know if it still FC's.

Using Go Contacts EX allowed me to enter the event without issue inside the Go app. Checked with the stock (inverted contact apk) and contact had the event entered correctly.

Hmmm... For some reason, both my phone and people icons disappeared from the drawer, so now I can't even test those. GO is working for me for now, and if I find those darn icons, I'll test the people app ASAP...

Heading out to do some shopping and get something to eat. When I get back I'll reinstall the original contacts apk and see if the issue persists.

I just did that -- replaced both apps with the ones inside FJ's ROM zip. Afterwards, adding events seems to work fine still. Of course, they're no longer themed, though.

I did a test an have the same issue. I never tried 2 add an event on a contact before in the past couple years. good catch. Wonder if its related to the kob4lt or the unofficial fj mod b6 ROM im on....

I've gotten most of the inverted apps working except MMS it'll just keep freezing and FC'n, also Gmail won't work even after I deleted the Gmail sys app it won't uninstall so I can install the inverted one and I didn't try to change the market but all the other inverted apps work on The Only One Goldie B5
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2

New issue today. Might have something to do with Go Contacts EX. Now when I go to the Dialer, Contacts FC. I cannot use the dialer. It won't even bring up the dialpad. I can make calls if I use the contact list to do so or if I use Go Dialer Ex. Might uninstall Go Contacts EX and see if I can then use my other dialer. Dialer was previously working.
---------- Post added at 05:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:22 PM ----------
Uninstalled Go Contacts EX. Dialer from Inverted Contacts still FC. Reinstalled Contacts.apk from the OnlyOne HYFR version. Dialer now works again and events can be entered again.

OK, need some help here. Went to re-install the inverted contacts app again for ****s and giggles and my contacts and phone disappeared. Anyway to bring them back? Most likely this is the same thing that happened to you paleh0rse.

This is a work in progress. The goal of this project is to move it into a Theme.apk for the new "Theme Chooser"
Credits:
tnpapadakos (buy him a cappucino)
This is his hard work, and it's very good looking, I'm just trying to help minimize the zip size and get it moved to an apk for Tmobiles Theme Chooser
this is a good start in the right direction, dueces
Awesome, thanks!
*sigh* - DON'T
Seriously, guys... The themeing engine was added to CM7 precisely to avoid this kind of messing up with the ROM, so *don't* do this. Themes can now be built and distributed as APKs, you can even market the damned things...
This comes from an installable APK, for example:
xttp://dl.dropbox.com/u/10355648/mau5-land.png
Check the vendor/tmobile/themes/Cyanbread and Androidian stuff for examples.
Awesome I love it thanks
So this is a .apk or theme? Could you explain a bit more why you say this is a bad idea?

Had some issues, working now on #15. I edited the link in post #1 for the working full colorized build #14
I dig this, but am not keen on flashing something on top of nightlies that could jack with the ROM that's already a WIP.
Once you convert to a theme I'll definitely give it a whirl (not much liking the current 3 themes, but love the functionality & options it will bring).

It's a theme, installed as an APK. Messing up with ROMs to change layout has always been a problem, it's _very_ easy to mess up something, especially when those changes are done by simply repacking the resources (unzip, replace, re-zip). It's a fairly frequent source of support problems for developers, and it's just an ugly way of themeing a phone.
CM7 includes a themeing engine developed by T-Mobile, and the main reason for it is to prevent these problems (and it is _very_ powerful, allows you to change almost anything from layout to animations, not just graphics). If you're running a recent build of CM7 (or any of the many CM kangs) , open the "Theme Chooser" application and choose one of the 2 samples: they are a very small example of what can be done. Note that even the window transitions are changed. Then search the market for "greybeard", and have fun installing your first market theme

well, no, its not a theme yet
its actually a kanged version of cm7
THE ONLY THINGS THAT ARE CHANGED ARE:
images in framework, SystemUI, Settings, Bluetooth, Browser, Calculator, Calendar, Contacts, Deskclock, Email, FM, MMS, Music and Phone
no layouts or xml files are changed, only images
the images changed have the exact same names, they have only been colorized so that the menu icons and notification bar icons that were grey/black and white before are now colored...some others that were colored before (like battery for instance) were changed to blue or some other design that i preferred (i personally cant stand the signal bars/wifi indicators in gingerbread)
this was originally just something i was doing for myself for a few months starting in july, 2010, but after i finally shared it in october over at cmforum, it took off as people liked it
there is nothing else changed in the ROM itself, so flashing this overtop of your current version of cm7.*** doesnt "break" anything else
so really its as simple as having both versions available on sdcard and flashing one or the other
honestly, its much to do about nothing, its just a different look
if someone can tell me how to "theme" the framework, and all those apk's listed above without doing it this way, i'd be glad to do it, it would save me alot of work, but i like doing it anyway

Negative, you can base a ROM on anything as long as you did "Original" work to it. If you simply hellraised it, then it belongs it ported.

Did you guys pull your themeing from Vertumus? I believe that is where the black text on grey background originates (you probably already know that - just mentioning it in case). I really like this look...gonna give shoman's ROM a couple days to see how it settles in, then I'll likely be over here. Hope you can get the text colors on those menus resolved, cause they were driving me nuts on ICScrewD! Didn't stop me from using that as a daily driver though, so won't stop me here either.
Nice lookin' ROM guys, Thanks!

Hello everyone!
Here is my nightly build of RootBox!
It's a custom AOKP/AOSPA/CM rom with lots and lots of options and customizable features.
1. Flash ROM
2. Flash Gapps
3. Factory Reset if coming from another rom.
4. Reboot.
Enjoy!

Hello, trying it now.
Does it include the samsung apps ? And especially the stylus software , I'd go with CM but it won't include the stylus apps and text recognition and it's no point buying a 7105 if it's not using the stylus, might as well keep an SG3 for that...
thanks
I gave this ROM a try, it was extremely smooth but i hit a snag with some of the colours (calendar, email) and my limited skillset could find no answer to change them to useable colour choices. I had to move off, but if there is a way to change this i will get back onto this ROM it seemed extremely good (and i have used many of the current 4.1.2 and 4.2 ROMS!).
Nice work on it.
Really nice rom! Lots of customizable features. Only one thing that is annoying me; Music Player ! Where is it? If we don't get Apollo, what is the recommended music player similar to Samsung's stock Music Player? This is the only reason why i stick to TW.
Or if someone knows a good music player on market that is worth purchasing i will get it, I really need a music player where you have EQ and it you can hear bass!
Anyway keep up the good work!
Does anyone know how to turn off the menu bar on the bottom? I tried in the rootbox settings -enabling and disabling the bar has not effect. Also when I add different shortcuts, the bar just resets itself.

There is a setting in the navigation bar setting to hide it so you can swipe it up when you need it. Sorry I cant talk you through the exact steps as I uninstalled. Just a few annoyances I cant live with that comes with TW.
Other than that the issues like the stock video player and motion features not been availabke which I kove its a great rom with so many other features.

Just flashed 2 April 2013 version and while trying out, Goo Manager prompted me of a new update, 4 April 2013. Downloaded it and finished flashing. Before flashing the rom, I upgraded to TWRP 2.4.0.4. Proceeding to use TB to restore my apps, after installing TB from Play store. :good:
Edit:
Facing issue with Chameleon Launcher 2 when adding it's widget. Had tried uninstalling, reboot and reinstalling.
Might try to reflash later or tomorrow.
Edit 2:
Tried refresh and still have problem with Chameleon Launcher 2.
Decided to try flashing 2 April version and Chameleon Launcher 2 was working fine. I added 4 built in widgets and no crashing of Chameleon Launcher 2. I'm restoring my apps using TB now. Hopefully, everything will continue to be fine after everything is settled. Thanks.

Thanks for this rom, it's even better than the official AOKP version as I like to have customizations.
Edit 3:
Using the built-in Calendar app to create exchange accounts and yahoo account, the emails is very difficult to read. Background is black or dark, and fonts are dark gray or blue. Now I can understand why @jtsin67 gave up on this rom. Not sure if this is the same for 4 April version as I did not get that far due to the Chameleon launcher issue.

Anyone facing the issue of not being able to connect to LTE/4G with this rom?
If you turn off dark rootbox in settings it is more acceptable colours. but i had no end of issue with gmail intermittently closing when opening emails. Tried 4.2 and 4.3 gmail but no luck, and then the main browser started doing the same closing down. From a complete system wipe, fresh install etc and latest gapps still no luck on this.
Maybe next release has some fixes but i couldn't get it working to a level (but I will check back as it is a very smooth rom with loads of features).

I've gone to the stable version 3.91 which is without PA integration. Built-in email doesn't have colour issue. Chameleon Launcher 2 is working fine too.
Hopefully OP will continue to work on the nightly ROM to become stable. Thanks.

Found a 04-03 version, flashed it, and here's my feedback.
1. Chameleon Launcher works
2. Email and calendar has the same problem as 04-04 where background and text are in dark colors. I deleted the apks for calendar and email (4 of them) and copied from another PA ROM the same apks, problem solved.
3. With the PA interface, I could set the WiFi and signal bars to another color, great.
4. In landscape, navigation bar is squeezed to the centre and vertical. See screen shot attached.
Stable version 3.91 is great but doesn't have PA cooked in, sadly.

Hi! Most of you probably know me from my Project Infinity ROM on the same forum. I have now decided to start releasing some of the mods that I have done or am planning to do seperately so that they will work on any Rom! All of them are being done and tested on the latests version of my rom (G900TUVU1ANE6) but since most of the S5 apps are extremely similar, they will most likely work on any S5 device. I will post under that mod if one is confirmed to not work on a specific device. All of them are flashable unless otherwise stated. Some of the mods may also be updated individually with more features in the future. If I do, I will post a changelog under that mod. If you have any requests, I am always open to here them and will do my best to fulfill it. All the mods are either in or will be in my Project Infinity Rom. Enjoy!

TouchWiz Launcher ModDifferences:
-Added pullup (pull up from bottom of screen to launch favorite app, disable in settings)
-Added built in theme support (now accessable from launcher settings)
-Enabled app list view
-Enabled Folder Hovering
-Now you could use more then one line in folder name
-Disabled help text on empty pages
Download:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358548976
Themes:
It includes built in theme support now.
Instead of trying to include some random open source themes etc. It is much easier just to post links to some directories of themes!
Each theme is just a simple apk and can be installed just like any other app. Once its installed it will show up in the theme chooser in the launcher settings.
I have tested some of them just to verify that they do work with the launcher. Obviously I am not responsible for the themes since they are being developed by individual devs.
Best Theme Resource That I Have Found:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711245
I will try and update as I find more or contribute in the thread!
Screenshots:
Popup DisablerDifferences:
This is just a simple mod to disable the annoying battery cover and charger port popups for
those on a stock rom. Should work on both deodexed and odexed roms.

Sound ThemesDifferences:
Some sound packs that I have pulled from different devices to change the overall
sound themes.

AOSP - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358549020

Xperia - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358549023
Dark AppsDifferences:
These are the heavily requested dark apps from the international devices. This is mainly for the USA variants as they come
with a light themed dialer and mms app. Note: it appears that by using the international mms, there may be an issue
with sending mms when used with wifi calling for T-mobile users.
Download:
Dialer - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358549034
Messages - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358549033
Screenshots:
Accuweather Widget ModDifferences:
This is a small edit of the stock Accuweather mod to unlock the dev mode options. This allows you to pretty much turn on and off anything
in the settings. Any other dev can feel free to use this as a base to edit and theme. I will perhaps eventually release other versions with
some images and other minor things change.
Download:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358550809
Screenshots:
Dialer Tone SoundsDifferences:
This is the first of many sound themes for the stock dialer. The touch sound (which is usually the annoying ripple sound) has been changed with
a slightly more pleasent touch sound from the iPhone. If you have any other sounds that you would like me to change the dialer too, please send
them to me and I will be more then happy too.

odexed - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358551150
deodexed - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358551149
Ultimate Messaging ModDifferences:
This is the Ultimate Messaging Mod. So far I only modded the stock T-mobile (white) Messaging app.
I might consider doing the international (black) one later on.
- Displays Sent Time instead of the received time
- Raised recipient number to 200
- Increased Hourly Send Limit to 1000
- Increased MMS slide limit to 1000
- Enabled Emoji support
- Enabled screen on/off toggle
- Enabled settings for signature
- Enabled Vibration options
- Enabled Group Messaging
- Enabled Save/Restore
- Enabled Scheduled Messaging
- Increased recipient limit to Unlimited
- Enabled split view mode toggle'
- Might be more coming!

Confirmed that sound mods fail on flashing here with TWRP. I usually unzip and copy sound files to my ext SD card so not a big deal. Just that UI sounds need to be done manually. Now a MOD that would access system sounds for installing just like ringtones or Notifications would really be awesome.

Once you flash it just pull up from the bottom of the home page and select your favorite app. After that it will launch that app every time you pull up.

There are screenshots in the op. Just go to the home page of the launcher, put your finger all the way at the bottom of the screen and pull up. The same way you pull down the notification drawer but from the bottom of the screen up. It will launch an app called pullup, just select any app that is listed and from now on that app will popup when you pull from the bottome of the launcher upwards.

That really wouldnt be a mod but there are many apps on the play store that can do that for you. With the Galaxy S5 it does mount storage much better than any of the past devices. I personally dont think that its neccessary to mount the device as a storage device anymore unless you have a specific need to.

[Update 5.1 Included] [Mod] [Root] Google Dialer and Messenger for Pure Edition

Thanks to NekoNieves over on the Moto G forum, we now also have a working way to get the Google Lolipop Dialer and messenger on the Pure Edition X, and possibly more if rooted?
Original Thread -http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/themes-apps/lollipop-google-dialer-messenger-t2940395
Anyways, you can either flash the zip from the thread above ( personally untested).
Or like I did, pull the apks from the zip (included below) , and replace the ones in system/priv-app according to the file structure in the zip using a Root Browser, such as Root Explorer.
Instructions -
1. Navigate to system/priv-app in your root directory
2. Find the Dialer and MMS folders respectively.
3. Rename the Dialer.apk and .odex file and MMS.apk and .odex file with ".bak" so you can revert if you'd like. (eg. rename "Dialer.apk" to "Dialer.apk.bak" and so on.)
4. Copy the new files into the old locations, and set permissions to rw-r-r
5. Reboot, and your done!
Note. I personally don't use any of the Moto Voice features and thus haven't tested calling from the voice search or anything else related to the moto apps, feel free to test if they still work with this mod below!
UPDATE : Hey guys, In case you missed my post later in the thread I've attached the 5.1 Google Dialer files to the OP, you'll have to move those manually, it's not flashable.
Also, if you're trying out Tayrom's sweet Nexus Experience ROM, the M8DeodexedDialer.zip will get the Google Dialer working...
It's just the apk pulled from a deodexed HTC One M8 GPE rom, just replace the dialer and apk in your system apps with this one and fix permissions. PS> I also disabled the app called in call UI.apk or something like that, might still work otherwise, but not sure.
I can't get the GoogleDialer.apk to install, the MMS.apk installed fine a d immediately wanted an update from play store. I've tried clearing cache and just can't get the Google dialer to install. Permissions are set.

You shouldnt have to install, just replace the files in your directory and reboot, the apks wont install on their own, at least the dialer wont.
Works without problems, until now, on my XT1097 brazilian retail. Thanks for sharing!

Copied both apk's and odex files, updated permissions on all 4 to rwrr and rebooted but the Dialer was gone after reboot. Will have to fiddle with it a little bit to see what else needs to be changed.

It does not. It's missing that option. Screen shots from my Nexus 4 and Moto X. SIP is located under Phone account settings.
I noticed that on my Nexus 4 the file for the dialer is located as
system/priv-app/GoogledDialer/GoogleDialer.APK
On the Moto X, it's
system/priv-app/Dialer/Dialer.APK
In the ARM folder, the Nexus 4 uses libvariablespeed.so
While the Moto X uses Dialer.odex
I might try to copy over the files from my Nexus 4 and see if it works, though I don't know if the VoIP caller is dependent on anything else.

A work around is to use a launcher to bring use the dialer if you don't see it.
<<I installed the app but the icon doesn't show up in my app tray. What can I do?
If this happens on your phone, the only solution we found was to use Nova Launcher because it has a feature that allows you to run a specific activity within an app. To set this up:
Within Nova Launcher, long-press on the home screen.
Choose "Shortcuts"
Select "Activities"
Find "Google Dialer" in the list, then tap to open it up, and select "Phone" (use the first one in the list)
This will put a shortcut to the dialer on your home screen. At this stage, you can use this to access Google Dialer. It's not the cleanest solution, but it does work.>>

Maybe? Probably? I dunno thats one of those new 5.1 phones right? If you can root it then you can try, just back up your old dialer and stuff so you can revert.
Got this to work on PA unofficial ROM.
Just followed the steps but it didn't work just flashing it. Had to do it manually.
If someone could get this working for Non Rooted phones I would pay them. I miss this dialer and its search feature more than I thought I would.
