i checked for update and it was available update to ICS
after the download is finished the phone rebooted and then the CWM logo is appeared and did nothing
I re-Locked the device and tried again
after the reboot showed me warning and did nothing also
Im trying to remove the CWM but i don't know what to do ?
is the CWM is responsible for all these ?
and how can i remove it ??
if not then what should i do ?
plz need ur help

Dont worry
it seems your phone is a little messed up
just search for the stock rom (you mentioned ics is released so try to find it)
look in the xda for a flashing guide for ur phone and flash the ics stock rom

thanks for replay
you mean just download and install the stock rom and every thing will return to normal ?

yap the stock rom you have to flash with odin contains the whole original software
after flashing its like ure unboxing the phone after buying it
it will whipe all your data even the root acces and the cwm ure back on stock recovery afterwards.
http://www.android-hilfe.de/custom-...401-x-ice-cream-sandwich-htc-sense-3-6-a.html
if you dont know how to use odin look here in the xda forum for a tutorial
after flashing go to recovery and whipe data/cash

Got stuck on installing custom rom :S

Hi,
I'm trying to root and install a custom rom on my I9100 ..
But everytime I install a custom rom+kernel via clockwork .. I get bootloops and clockwork can't mount anything (also if I manually mount it in menu it can't find anything)
I can reflash stock roms via ODIN .. so I didn't brick it .. also I can obtain root via de CF-root kernel.. Everything works ok.. up until I flash a custom one..
I've tried different roms and kernels..
What went wrong if the phone can't mount partitions? (I did not yet touch the re-partition function in Odin, since it works if I reflash stock rom I figured the problem is not in the partition table)
I'm using stock rom:
PDA: XWKK2| Modem/phone: XXKI3| CSC: XEUKH2
and CFroot kernel:
CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEN_KK2-v5.0-CWM5.zip
If I flashed those 2 .. and it's working .. what would be my next step if I'd like to install the Insanity ROM with the VOID.echo kernel ??
Thanks in advance ..
If I flashed those 2 .. and it's working .. what would be my next step if I'd like to install the Insanity ROM with the VOID.echo kernel ??
Read the Insanity rom install instructions .
Followed by reading the Void kernel install instructions .

Thanks for your reply.
I did .. but if I do the "pull battery" thing right after flashing CF-ROOT .. clockwork doesn't seem to work.. When I start it by doing volume up+home+power .. its shows a black screen..
I only get clockwork to work if I reboot after flashing CF-root...
But apart from getting the rom to work .. I'd really like to know what went wrong if clockwork can't mount anything ?? Is it a wrong kernel? wrong firmware? radio trouble or just a bogus flash ??
I'd like to have a better understanding of what is going on, this way it is easier to try and fix it...

Understood .
I would reflash the cwm and root and even pick a different kernel .
In clockwork recovery mounts and storage you can format cache data system then pull battery and reflash a clean root via Odin .

how about flashing roms and kernel via odin? or are u afraid that it will increase your custom binary count? because from my experience.. flashing roms throught CWM recovery doesnt always work.. odin has been my sure way to flash many things..
No .. I'm not afraid to up my flash counter .. it already says 17 (and proud ) ..
How do I flash a custom rom in ZIP via odin ??? I cant just select the zip file in PDA ... ?
Thanks for your replies .. I do like to solve this .. but I still don't understand what causes this problem ??
if I flash a customrom it can't mount anything.. I can reflash stock rom 2.3.5 via odin that works fine .. but also if I try to flash older stock roms, it can't mount anything as well :S ..
Just tried to flash the stock KDD rom package (with kernel as well) .. and after flashing it reboots and goes to the original samsung recovery menu, with a lot of failed to mount errors :S
It's really bugging me that I don't even know what causes this problem .. :S
Hmm .. was just thinking ..
If I move from 2.3.5 .. should my device be re-partitioned as well ??
Can't find any PIT files though :S
try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
keep reading there is instruction on how to flash official roms via odin and there is also link just search for the roms u want... csc is also included plus stock kernel
if this works try to flash custom kernel (i recommend speedmod it has preroot installed) on stock roms and if it works u can try custom roms lol
RTFM huh .. ..
I did my readings .. I know how odin works .. I understand how to put back original firmwares.. Just read it again to make sure I didn't miss anything..
I just don't understand why only stock 2.3.5 works on my device :S ...
As if my phone is locked to that firmware :S ..
All these on Intratrech's thread should work on any SGS2 as long as I ONLY flash the stock package via odin (as instructed) right ??
already tried flashing to the old bootloader, I whiped my phone several times in CWM and original recovery ..
I just don't know why my phone is acting this way ..
never heard of that kind of problem and just to confirm u do thave i9100 one right? not i9100g or other version of S2
as far as I know it is just the i9100....
Model number says GT-i9100 and so says the bootsplash..
so... to sum up ... if I cant flash older stock firmwares via odin .. something very weird is going on ??
yes... if u cant flash older or newer firmwares then something is really wrong...
have u tried to connect it to kies and see if there is any update on firmware? if so try to update via kies and see if it works

wel u have a soft brick ma8 dont panic just dwnl a odin flashable stock GB rom and install the same
after that search the forum under samsung gs2 how 2 root ur phone with stock gb fallow the instructions and root ur phone
then select the ics rom like lightening rom and flash thru odin
every thing will be fine
Reading the post, seems like OP did flash a stock file (although ICS, not GB).
2 dumb questions just to confirm. You have the i9100? not the i9100G? Also have you waited a certain amount of time after you flashed those roms? It can take up to a couple minutes for it to first boot.
If above are fine, (you have i9100, and you waited a long time and it was still stuck on i9100 screen)
Try the link below.

Factory reset is not required after flashing a rom .
You load rom via Odin it finishes install and then reboots itself .
You load rom via CWM and it goes to reboot screen yes and phone reboots .
As said a stock gb rom flashed via Odin preferably after a format of system data and cache should be your first step .
jje
i did that.

ok then not ...
Looks like you have siyah rc6. Make sure it's not from the 21st, iirc.
Don't factory reset just to be safe.. Restore your nandroid if possible and change to a later version.
Hope all goes well

yup i had siyah 3.1rc6 on my phone.
i tried to restore my nandroid backup but there is no effect on my problem.
how to know weather emmc is fine or currupted?
Try to mount it in CWM and connect it in linux computer and run fsck to check the eMMC. Windows chkdsk is no good.
And please try to remember, did you do this step: flash bad siyah rc6 then wipe/factory reset and get stuck?
if not, then the problem is different from those who flash bad rc6 (which is removed now and siyah is safe)
any thing is not working.
in every thread its written that if my phone goes in download mode and recovery mode then its soft bricked but then how can i unbrick my phone?
or is there any hardware problem?
i can mount and unmount every thing in recovery mode
i can format every thing but only user data cannot be formated, when ever i format/data or factory reset the phone hangs.
is there any other way of hard resetting i9100.?other than cwm recovery?
Have you tried flashing with the .PIT? I doubt it'll work, since other people also tried it, but it's worth a shot.

@ZACQ8,
I rooted my son's S2 using this method -> http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s2-newworks-on-all-galaxy-s2-variants/ and now need to install CWM. Was thinking of "touch", but don't know how.
Went to the CF-root link in your signature but not sure which one to choose ... my firmware before the root was 2.3.6, but has now gone to 2.3.5 and the base band is XXKI4. Can you suggest the exact file I should download? Can you also tell me if the touch version is available?
Thanks,

Cyanogen mod 9 on galaxy s3 locked my phone.

Thnx for the quick response
I think the problem isn't cm9, when I was trying to install the from I couldn't boot to the cwm recovery because I forgot to root my device. Then I rooted my s3 with cf something root kit and then my signals were gone. I have the international version so my phone should be factory unlocked so I thought I should install cm anyway cuz that might solve the problem. But it didn't. I really like cyanogenmod and don't want to revert back to crappy touchwizz . The problem was there before installing cm9 but after rooting my phone.
Please any help. I really need to use my phone.

You should reinstall everything from the scratch mate, so revert your device at stock (using odin), then flash the correct [email protected] kernel and finally if everything is working flash cm9.
Edit: if your device is locked i think you can unlock it easily, search in the forum you can find out everything you need for this.

Okay,
I have downloaded my firmware file but i noticed that i need three tar files for the flashing precess through ODIN but i downloaded only 1 file *.tar.md5
no clue now what to do
Update: I tried to extract the file using splitfus but it didnt work.
Update 2: Okay now I have Installed my stock firmware and it seems to be working now.. But should I risk installing the CM9 again ?

- launch Odin
- load that ONE FILE on PDA section
- put your phone in download mode (volume down+home+power)
- connect the phone to computer, wait for drivers to be installed and ODIN to find your phone (you will see a message in Odin)
- click start
- don't touch the phone until it's done. It will boot alone
Also, it might be a good idea to wipe data / reset to factory before and after flash.
You could find all this info with google ....
On the topic, I have a similar issue. My phone was factory unlocked , and got locked after flashing latest stock firmware. Downgrading didn't solved anything. I am searching the forums right now, but it seems like all fixes are dated.
If anyone could point me in the right direction, it will be appreciated.
Thx
Hey rsndetre,
Thnx for the post, but sorry I already did that and it worked ..
Here are the method I used to get back my device back to normal and got my sim card working and again reinstalled cm9
1- Downloaded Toolkit from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488
2- Flashed Stock Boot Image
3- Flashed Stock Recovery Mode
4- Downloaded stock firmware from http://fus.nanzen.se/
5- Flashed stock firmware using Odin (your method above)
6- Rooted the device again (using odin and CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4)
7- Downloaded and placed cm9 and google apps package in SDCARD
8- Installed Rom Manager from Play Store.
9- Downloaded and Installed ClockWorkMod from rom manager and booted to recovery mode using RomManager
10- Then factory resetted, formatted the cache and installed the CM9 and GAPPS V11
Then my phone was good to go.
My phone is up and running, thanks rsndetre, Arsaw and TecQuality for your replies. I appreciate your time
Thanks
Muzammil Ahmed.

[Q]cant install the 4.3 latest update!!!!

hi guys i would appreciate help concerning my gt i9300..new android user n am not a pro yet but am following intructions over here and upgraded my phone from 4.1 to 4.3 via odin[as said in different threads]..works wonderful but later i noticed huge battery drain.i googled for the matter and i came to know that the issue was in the firmware itself..
i then downloaded another 4.3 [updated and latest].
now i cant update to the latest 4.3 iv just downloaded..my present kernel version is dated nov 29 and it remained wen i try flashing it to the latest???
did i skipped somthing??
what should i do??
i read lots of threads n still dnt kno wat to do.
please..........
Your description of what you've done is no help.
Download the latest firmware for your country from Sammobile.com, flash using odin then factory reset.
Follow the guide in general forum, sticky threads.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Are you just wanting stock 4.3 for your I9300 or are you wanting a custom rom for the I9300?
If its just stock then yes as @boomboomer says you need to download latest firmware via sammobile or alternative site (there is even a collection on xda i believe) and flash this via odin.
If you want to go the custom rom root however to get the most from your device then all you would need to do is to download the rom of your choice and put on your phone, from there get latest TWRP or CWM recovery (depending on your preference) flash this via odin (in pda), then boot into recovery and flash the rom as per the Dev's instructions
Hope you get your phone to the rom/firmware you want
oki il be short for those who didnt understand..i have installed 4.3 in my i9300..now i want to install another version of the 4.3.i tried but it remained on the previous intalled one even though i tried via odin mates..wat can i do????

Seems Like uve Followed the instructions correctly but the recovery you are using is outdated OR The .zip Rom file that u have downloaded is corrupted. Try The Following:
1) Enter CWM and flash this recovery, Its the latest Philz Touch Edition of CWM

As u said Phone isnt booting then u can place the zip file of philz externally in ur external sd and flash from there.
After u flash Philz touch REINSTALL the rom following the same steps as u did earlier or as some of the members suggested u and see what happens.
2) IF 1 Doesnt work den redownload the rom put it in ur SD and Reflash
I'm Sure one of the Above 2 has to work
