downloading not working of x8gesture.ko

In that case, there are a few froyo-based roms (srom-froyo, froyobread) that include this particular module, don't know if those links are still working, try to search the x10mini development forum to find them

Do they require unlocking of bootloader .Actually I am afraid of this purpose. Is there any GB rom that can be flashed without unlocking bootloader on stock kernel 2.6.29 Thanks for Help.

You only need to unlock your bootloader if you need a custom kernel.
All the froyo roms run on the stock kernel, so they can be installed without unlocking the bootloader.
GB roms all run on a custom kernel (on the x10Mini), so you need to unlock the bootloader for that.
If you get S1Tool and post the output, i could probably provide you with some guidance on the safety of unlocking

Yeah !! in the output It shows SEMC something with capital R . Actually date is 10w29. Flashtool is big file and I have a slow connection... Smthng else for unlocking bootloader

it should say semc-simlock certificate, and 10w29 is ok too. you can get the manual scripts for unlocking the bootloader in a slightly smaller package, but the point about unlocking the bootloader is to install a custom kernel... you will need flashtool for that... lol.
I would say, try one of the froyo roms if they're still available, i'm pretty sure froyobread with the hotfix can be downloaded and they can be installed on the stock kernel. but then, those are big downloads too on a slow connection

Ok I am starting... Given 30 minutes to my wintage phone,
Thanks for paying attantion..

yupp its done ..XDA rocks B-)

You're welcome

Array. I've unlocked the bootloader and I have xrecovery on my phone. I also have put GB miniCM rom as update.zip on SD card
Now the problem is on GB thread it said that I should have naA kernel on my phone and on naA kernel thread it said that I should have GB custom rom. I have only unlocked the bootloader and still on stock rom and stock kernel.,
once again its ur turn to sort me out of this problem...
:-D

First you flash the nAa kernel using flashtool
Then flash the rom through cwm
Sent from my E10i using xda premium

Bro I have gone one step ahead and have installed cloclwordmod .. now I am flashing the naA kernel... But what after flashing the kernel if I start my phone do I have to first enter in CWM and flash new minicm7 rom or I can use this kernel on my stock rom 2.1

Go into CWM and install MiniCM, stock will not boot on the nAa kernel.

First, why do people keep posting questions to the dev section?!
Second, use flashtool to revert to stock firmware and start over.
First of all, wrong thread and second, wrong site. Ask in modaco site.
Rom is not using xrevovery03. And in kernel is xrecovery03.
Wondering if you are on baseband 71 and did you flash cm7 kernel by mistake.

Why modaco? The problem is not the ROM, as I'm currently using my phone to post this. The issue only came up after flashing the kernel.

Trips Roms are not compatible with custom kernels as he has stated before. you cant flash a custom kernel unless you have an unlocked bootloader (even then i'm not so sure). it stuffs the Recovery. Trips rom doesnt use Xrec 0.3. as a previous post stated you'll have to restore back to official 2.3.3 and re-root reinstall xrec and reinstall rom.

Kernel will work. I tried an it worked. I do not what went wrong.
But use xrecovery03 before you flash kernel. Use flash tool GBready to get xrecovery03. You will reconize it by the logo of Z
woah! Don't start again with flashing 2.3 rom, it's unneccessary! you can manually copy/paste the needed files to the rom with a file manager and set the permissions right. But I would recommend you to unlock your bl, flash dooms stock 2.3.3 kernel for unlocked bl's and then the v04b kernel for locked bl's with recovery.
Why? Simple: using dooms stock 2.3.3 kernel means you can't loose xrecovery again, even if you format system partition and reboot you can enter xercoery again, cause it's included in the kernel. Also you can remove then the xrecovery.tar from your system partition cause it's not needed anymore.

[Q] MiniCM7-2.1.6 & nAa-08 Kernel

Hi guys
After unlocking bootloader on my SE Xperia X10 Mini, I flashed nAa-08 kernel and then MiniCM7-2.1.6. During the installation, however, I noticed that the ROM requires nAa-07 kernel, while I flashed nAa-08. All was still fine, but I would like to know if there are any known problems or if I have to flash nAa-07 kernel

it should not have major problems but it would be much safer and faster if you used the same rom kernel with the latest MiniCM7-2.1.7.i bet you it wont let you down.
I used the latest nAa kernel with his latest MiniCM7-2.1.7 and its just off the hook(VERY FAST AND STABLE)- PERFECT !!!

I could try, but i have X10 Mini, not Pro. Probably a new porting for X10 Mini will arrive in few days
I hope so, at least
Would it be better to reflash nAa-07 kernel for now?

The MiniCM installation guide states to flash the latest nAa kernel.
Newer kernels are usually better than older ones.
I doubt nAa would remove features with new kernel versions.

Exactly. I followed the instructions, but CMW Recovery was unable to find the nAa-07 kernel and suggest me to flash it. That's all.

Yeah Thanks, all went well. Bootloader was unlocked, nAa-08 kernel was installed. MiniCM7, too.
I wanna just saying that (maybe) there is a minor bug in CWM Recovery. In fact, it doesn't recognise nAa-08 kernel.
Not so worrying...Please, try to understand me, i'm just a n00b

[Q] Help! Upgrading Xperia X10 Mini Pro (u20i) to MiniCM9-3.0.1 [5/5/12]ICS 4.0.4/CM9

HI evryone,
I am just a beginner using android for few months... My device is Xperia X10 Mini pro U20i..
I tried to upgrade to MIniCM9 3.0.1 from CM7 (CM7 was working wel, i just wanted to upgrade)..
I downloaded MiniCM9-3.0.1 [5/5/12]ICS 4.0.4/CM9 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636501
I wiped cache, user data and dalvik cache n tried to install CM9 rom.. It installed successfully, but I received a warning message. 'Should have kernel flashed to atleast ics-nAa 01' like dat...
But when i rebooted, it didnt go beyond d Sony Ericsson logo.. I went back to stock 2.1 using SEUS..
Then I rooted mobile using SuperOneClick 1.6.5 n rooted successfully. But wen i flashed the kernel 'U20_nAa-ics_01_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-01.ftf' or 'U20_nAa-ics_01_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-02.ftf' from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636504, it couldnt flash.. I get an error ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed"..
I tried flashing with flashtool 0.2.9.1 and with flashtool 0.7.1.0 but i couldnt get it done..
Can anyone help me with dis? Why do i receive dat error message? How can I upgrade to CM9??
While upgrading to CM7, I never flashed my device. I just rooted it, installed xrecovery n cleared factory data, disk cache, dalvik cache n installed d rom... So, is there any similar way to install CM9 also without using flashtool?
Thanks..
You need a custom kernel for MiniCM9, and the reason you can not flash this kernel is because your bootloader is locked. In the kernel thread there is a link to the tutorial on unlocking your bootloader, but please be careful, it doesn't work for everyone
Thanks for dat...
Is there a way we can install CM9 on U20i without unlocking bootloader?
Also, plz tell, does SEUS work after unlocking bootloader?
No you can't install MiniCM9 on anything other than the nAa-ICS kernel, and for that you need an unlocked bootloader
Yes, seus or pc companion will still work with an unlocked bootloader. the worst that can happen when unlocking the bootloader is that you will lose the ability to use your phone as a phone (disabled radio-capabilities). Check if it still works before flashing a kernel and custom rom, if it doesn't relock the bootloader and stay on stock kernel.
How to relock Bootloader? Link for U20i Stock Kernel..
Oh. Thanks a lot..
How to relock bootloader? I saw in a forum somewhere that there s no way to relock bootloader..
Also I tried to download the stock kernel for U20i from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225... They have given the link for downloading the stock kernel as http://db.tt/ukt80PBn
But the link doesnt work. I have searched many times but could neither open it nor find alternative link.. Can u plz tell any alternative link for it?
Thanks so much for ur responses..
First of all, you can relock your bootloader using S1Tool (by pressing the restore button), but if it is succesfully unlocked there is no need to relock it at all, unless you need to take it back to the shop for repairs under warranty.
(I can't remember where i got the latest version of S1tool from, i'll search for it later if you need it)
as far as the stock kernel is concerned, just do a repair with pc companion or maybe seus, i usually use pc companion. it won't relock your bootloader but will install a fresh stock kernel and rom. After that you can root, install recovery or cwm whatever you used and restore the backup you hopefully made of your MiniCM7 rom.
Mind you: At this moment Minicm9 is not an upgrade yet in the sense that it will make your phone work better or easier, it's still very early in development and not that easy to get working well, if you need your phone on a day-to-day basis, stick with MiniCM7 for now.
Thanks a lot for that info..
I hav no complaints wid CM7. I just wanted to upgrade to ICS since it is out there.
I'll try unlocking bootloader n cm9. I'll go back to cm7 if it doesnt work or if it isnt suited for day-to-day operations..
Thanks so mch for ur help.. I ve understood a lot.. Thanx again.. :-D
If u find d link for S1tool, kindly post it..
Sent from my U20i using XDA

If you want to run MiniCM7, by nAa, you need to unlock your bootloader and flash the nAa GB kernel (currently at version 13).
If you want to run MiniCM7Pro, you can run it without a custom kernel and without unlocking your bootloader.
They are two different ROMS with almost the same name, i can understand why that can be a bit confusing
MiniCM7Pro

Minicm7Pro was a port to the x10mini-pro from early MiniCM7 for the x10-mini, but it got updated to the latest Gingerbread, while still working with the stock kernel, minicm7 was released later and moved to the nAa-custom kernel, which gave it some performance benefits.
If you can unlock your bootloader, you can flash any kernel and rom you like that is available for your phone, but MiniCM7Pro or ArcMini Nxt (which runs on just about any kernel) are good places to start anyway.
for installing MiniCM7Pro you need:
2.1.1.A.0.6 firmware with *4015 baseband (check Settings - About Phone, the baseband should end in 4015)
Rooted phone
ClockWorkMod Recovery
Copy the MiniCM7Pro zip to your sd-card
Boot into CWM (press back-button on the kernel-logo)
Do a backup
Install the ROM
Wipe factory-data/reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik-Cache (in CWM advanced)
Wipe Batttery Stats (in CWM advanced)
Reboot and enjoy
MiniCM7Pro

Okay. then, do this.
Choose any ROM you like.
Flash via Flashtools base firmware(If you choose a GB rom then Flash any Gingerbread Stock Firmware, if you choose an ICS then flash any ICS Stock Firm..)
Flash any compatible kernel
Turn your phone on and enter cwm Recovery
Flash te ROM and do all wipes that ROM requires(its on OP of the ROM you 've selected)
Reboot and hope it works well!
Hope this can solve your problem

FYI : if you already unlock the bootloader, you don't have to root it anymore....just flash any custom kernel into your phone...all custom kernel is pre-rooted and have CWM be default....
flash any custom kernel first, then you can install any custom roms or official roms with losing your root....

wt19a kernal rom compatibility

hi.
i have a "lww". im root. my model is wt19a 4.0.4 build 4.1.B.0.431 kernel [email protected] # 1.
can i flash any kernal for my phone? if no, does it have to be compatible by build or model?
First of all to install custom kernel You need to unlock bootloader. Not every phone can be unlocked, cause it depends if Your phone's bootloader unlock status is yes or no. You can check this in service menu (in dialer tap *#*#7378423#*#* [ *#*#SERVICE#*#* ] ) and go to Service Info and Configuration. There should be rooting status.
It's also good to make .FTF files from Your ROM to use them in flashtool BEFORE any modifications. Just in case http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075736

Thanks for the reply.
my bootloader says yes. now i thought the whole thing witht the bootloader was for rooting. like i mentioned before i am rooted. i have already made a backup of my stock rom if thats what you mean by making my own .ftf file. dude where is the thank you button?
Nope, rooting Your device will give You access to system partition, but it doesn't allow to change kernels.
Backup in .zip is fine, but I suggest to make a .ftf. It will help You to "unbrick" Your phone if something bad happen (cause if it's problem with ROM U have to flash any working ROM anyway, but if U unlock Your bootloader SUS and PC Companion won't work, so the only solution is to flash it using flashtool). Also .ftf will allow You to revert software to stock one, with branding, customization etc. (if U would like to use warranty for any purpose stock ROM and branding are necessary).
So if bootloader unlock status is yes - then U are able to unlock Your bootloader and install any custom kernel. Check this thread, it will help You with everything. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2148684

i found that thread last night thats why i posted this question.
my boot loader says yes. i also flashed cwm using recoverx.
just to be sure. with my phone software the i mentioned above ^^. using lets say flashtool i can flash any kernal rom combination even if it .587, or for lets say or the wt19i?
thanks again for the help.
No, not every combination will work And flashtool is used to repair phone, not to flash custom ROMs. There are some ROMs working on stock kernel (which U have now) - mainly based on stock .431 or .587 software. U can flash them using recovery (which U have now). To be honest I don't know what are the differences between wt19i and wt19a. But as a experiment (lol) I flashed baseband from SK17a into my SK17i and everything was ok. That's why I told U to create a ftf package, which will allow U to flash stock ROM if something went wrong.
So, for now:
If U would like install any ICS ROM (based on original Sony .431 or .587 compilation - You can try it right away.
If U would like to flash CyanogenMod ROMs (CM7.2 [android 2.x GingerBread], CM9 [android 4.0.x IceCreamSandwich], CM10 [android 4.1 JellyBean], CM10.1 [android 4.2 JellyBean], CM10.2 [android 4.3 JellyBean] ) and other based on it, U will have to unlock bootloader at the first place and then flash kernel suitable for Your device (LWW is coded as coconut) and then flash ROM.

im sorry i asked so much. as your aware im a noob. till now i only rooted/flashed a galaxy 5 (not s5). it was so easy.
i assume im going to use cwm to flash the kernel, am i wrong?
if not a tutorial link will be fine and ive got all the points. and this is one hard phone to customize. but i wanted the 1.ghz processor.
thank you like in a big way man.
CWM is used to backup Your ROM and install custom ROMs. To flash kernel U will have to use fastboot mode, and it has nothing in common with CWM. Check this thread, 2nd post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1730874

hi again. sorry last question. i installed flashtool. when innstalling the flashtool driver i cant find LWW in the list.
what did this noob do wrong??? lol
If U'r trying to install one of d latest FT just install fastboot and flash drivers (2 last options as far as I remeber) and that's it.
