didn't use any such apps

Anyone else with the same problem?
My highest kernel wakelock is: "battery-monitor"
I don't have any battery monitor applications on my phone.

How are you reading wakelock stats?
And now please don't say BetterBatteryStats because that IS a battery/system monitoring app.
Edit: How high exactly is the wakelock?

Hehe, I'm using BetterBatteryStats.
After running on battery for 10 hours, it's on the third place of Kernel Wakelocks, with 5m 18s.

Strange, same issue here. Not using any battery monitors, but highest kernel wakelock is "battery-monitor" with 22m26s out of 8h+.

mine too
also galaxy s3

I have close to 2 hours of battery monitor wakelock after 9 hours. Pissing me off. Also S3.

And how many of you are using the widget or any other battery widget?

Kernel wakelock held by "battery-monitor" here too, have BBS installed but im not using the widget. So then it's byebye to that app
Haha, my first post since i registered 7 years ago, lurkerwin!

Mine is always in the awake status. No idea why?

I saw the same thing on my Note 2. The only 'battery' related app I'm running
is BetterBatteryStat.
Any suggestions?

if you are charging you mobile then it will stay @200 mhz only, if you are not charging its time to check for wakelocks, one of your app is not allowing your mobile to go idle. use betterbatterystats

[Q] Tab won't stay asleep

My Tab won't stay asleep. It randomly wakes up for a few seconds (5-10) then goes back to sleep. I can't seem to pin down a rhyme or reason as it doesn't always happen, but it does happen often. My main concern is battery drain. I'm running Task 14 with a boosted theme and stock kernel. I've reflashed the Rom but the issue still exists. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can try?
Your Not Alone!!
I would like to know also, as I have spotted mine do this too on occasions, anyone got any ideas out there please?
BTW, I am also running a Boosted themed Task14 with Pershoots kernel
I am not sure in this case, but I guess it could be an app you have installed. You should monitor with task manager which tasks are running and switch them off temporary to find out which app cause the problem.

I put both cpu spy and b.b.s. along with watchdog on, and can't seem to spot anything weird. Nothing is hogging a lot of juice, and it has plenty of deep sleep time. When it does a random wake up and I use the TouchWiz task manager it shows no active apps and Watchdog only shows minor things in the background, I'm not familiar with b.b.s. or cpu spy, is there something I should be looking for I am missing? Thanks for trying to help me figure this out.

You can also send a log of your bbs stats to the bbs thread and let them see if they can see anything

Thanks for the tip. Yeah I use b00sted's ICS theme. I noticed the other person in this thread with the same problem is also using one of his themes which points in that direction except that I believe they are pretty widely used and tested themes. However I will probably remove it when I get around to reflashing the ROM as I think that's the only way to remove it to see if that solves the issue.
In case anyone was wondering, I think I got the problem figured out. I use the honeybar app to bide my task bar. When I disable it, I no longer see the problem. (it's been a couple of days and I haven't caught it lighting up yet.)

The screenshot is attatched as a proof...
Please somebody help..
And please forgive me if a thread on this topic already exists, coz I've short time and I m really worried about it.

Download BetterBatteryStats from here (there is a thread), and charge your phone fully, choose kernel wakelocks and when phone is unplugged. When the phone has filly discharged, look at what is causing wakelocks (preventing phone from going into deep sleep). Look up wakelocks on Google and solve problems.

Can u explain please?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
first of all, i dont think that this i anyhow abnormal - since you are using sammy rom, 15% for almost 8 hours gives you 48 hours time between charging.
in settings/battery you should tap the field with uptime, and you will get info about battery discharging - if there are blue bars showing that device is awake, but screen is off, you are probably experiencing wakelocks; then you should either uninstall recently installed app which could wake your phone, or install betterbatterystats and check what is causing wakelocks.

that means that you had only 1 kernel wakelock, and it didnt last even 1 second.

yeah, thats the one. compare "awake" and "screen on" blue vertical lines, every time there is line at awake but screen is off, you have a wakelock (event that wakes up device from deepsleep and causes battery drain).
as i can see there are 5-6 short wakelocks which arent too important. you would have best battery life if you choose not to use sammy roms, but its a different story.

sammy rom = samsung stock rom
---------- Post added at 06:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:19 PM ----------
there is no easy solutions... but if you want to get deeper into system tweaking, you must read a lot, root your phone and use different kernels to see which one suits your needs best. i could suggest you resurrection remix rom v2.6.1 as one of the most developed ics roms, since jelly bean roms are still in pre-release stage. also a dorimanx kernel, because its most supported. using above combo, i have great deepsleep with almost 0 wakelocks, and about 5 hours of screen time with heavy usage (opera browser almost all the time, and opera is very cpu intensive browser). battery drain while screen is off is almost obsolete.

It's the stock Samsung rom you should do some reading in the original development section if your interested in rooting and flashing.

Samsung S2 battery problem!!

Hello, so Ive just updated my Samsung s2 to the nexus ROM 4.2.2 and the battery is doing just fine, the problem is when I lock my phone, the battery runs out like if I was using it normally. I've tried setcpu app but it doesn't seem to work. For example yesterday at 12 am my battery was at 40% and I slept for a few hours than I woke up at 5 am and my phone was already off. I didn't have this problem on jb 4.1.2. Please I need help! Thank you
I'm not sure..... I don't seem to have that problem.

Install Better battery stats from Android Apps & games section. Enable watchdog in settings, then check out if any app is waking up during sleep!! On JB for me battery drain on sleep is quite low!
OK I'll try but if it doesn't work, I might change my ROM so which one do you recommend me for the s2?

[Q] Kernel (Android OS) sucking my battery !! Can Anyone help ??

I have GSam battery monitor installed on my Note 3 (SM-900) running stock JB 4.3 (MK1) ....
Since a last few days I have witnessed battery drain on my phone without any apparent reason....I charge my phone to 100% at night (wifi & 3G data is off at night) & when I wake up after about 8 to 9 hours of sleep I find that the battery is down to 85% !!! Strange isn't it ...
GSam battery monitor says that nearly 67% of battery is used by "App Usage" , on clicking App Usage for bifurcation of battery usage I find that nearly 50% of my battery is used up by "Kernel (Android OS)"......How to control this , any help will be appreciated dear forum friends !!
Please help me to solve this....

Do you have Google Now turned on? If so try turning off location reporting in Google maps and see if it helps, it's made a huge difference on mine.
Turning the location off helps. The GPS kills the battery.
