[Q] Battery percent on battery like ICS for E4GT? - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

I'm curious if its possible to relocate the battery percent to be on the battery icon itself as it was on ICS for the Epic 4G Touch?

I would think so.

Unless I misunderstood the original post, I'm not sure that answered the question. That places the percentage to the side of the battery indicator, not on top of it on my wife's GS3. It is still a nice feature, however.

You would be correct. I would like to see the battery percentage placed on top of the battery icon.

ah ok...I misread....at least its nice to have a percentage monitor though...it'd be nicer if it was on top, rather then seperate taking up valuable taskbar space

Agreed. I'd love to see it in top of the battery indicator.

Same here. Simple and accurate, works great for me. So far I am really impressed by the battery life. I could barely go through a full day with the 4G, and now I have no trouble going to full days. I am not a heavy user so that helps a lot too.
NCH
My favorite, hands down, is Battery Diviner. It doesn't look especially pretty, but it learns how you use your phone and it makes an excellent prediction on remaining battery life based on your usage habits.
Plus, it's from an XDA dev.
There's a trial version in the Android Market.

Uses next to no resources, never found running in the background stuck (like almost every other single one i've used) and the interface can be widget or thrown up on taskbar to be seen on any page.
Just my 2 cents, otherwise when I root I always mod up a circular battery.

Epinter CM10 JB - battery stuck @47%

Flashed epinter's CM10 Jelly Bean last night and love it! Did my weekly night bike ride using Endomondo to track stats. GPS was great but battery died towards the end.
Now after charging all night battery still shows 47%. Any ideas ? Battery calibrator app says charge status must be 100% before it will wipe the bin file.

problems with battery can be fixed with ravilov's battery fixer (can be found in dev section) or by pulling battery, connecting phone to charger, placing battery and letting it charge till it says 100%.
extend battery prob
I also having incorrect batt % showing for my extend bh6x 1930mah on epinter cm10. Ravilov fix just temporary jump my bat percentage up a bit then it goes down very fast and stay at 1% for the next 6 hrs.
Is this because my atrix doesn't support bh6x? Or it is a ROM related problem?
I saw ravilov said something about having to mod framework-res.apk in bat fix thread p.11, but I do not understand what to do next.
Any suggestion?

It works like a charm.
It just ajust your battery's voltaje with the percent shown.

If it's something about the signal, It's mostly of the times because of the radio.
You can see your actual version on " About Phone"
Im using 77.37p , but you can try one which is better for your own country.
My radio gives southamerican people good signal , as I can see.
Changing a radio version can fix ur problem ( or can make it worst ) if you flash a wrong version.
Greetings,
Sorry but can't find it, I only recognize signal status 84dBm is too weak. Can you redirect me sir to that related thread? Thank you sir.

Try a new rom, and/or recalibrate your battery. There is some apps on the market that can help with recalibration. If that doesnt work then maybe you do need a new battery or your rezound is defective.

Can you elaborate? When would you like me to charge it. It will be almost dead by morning if I don't charge it all night. I'm not around a charger much during the day and I keep autosync and lte off to reduce power consumption.
Sent from my Rezound using xda app-developers app
I'd just replace the battery or take advantage of getting an extended one if you don't run a case.
From what I've read before, the placement of the CPU in this phone directly heats up the battery and these batteries don't like heat, it shortens their life.

Normal use, at least over a year.
What I do to save battery is very simple. During the day when I am away from a charger I drop minimum CPU freq all the way down to 192mhz. I put max freq at 540mhz and I set scaling to battery saver. Try this and see if you get a difference. Of course it will lag just a little bit but its worth it to save battery. And its not to hard to just go turn CPU up for just a moment if you really need to and then turn it back down when done.

Trick to tell if your battery is going bad:
Take it out. Lay it on a FLAT surface. Try to spin the battery. If it doesn't spin the battery is fine and it's a phone or ROM issue. If it spins easily and like a toy then your battery is bad. Over time the battery will bubble out due to being charged too much and result in an oblong shape that spins.

Not always true. I've seen some batteries that can go bad without starting to swell.Samsung batteries are really bad about swelling. HTC not so much. They just start losing their capacity levels. After 2 years it is good to get a new battery anyways for a cell phone.

A couple questions on performance and icons

So im brand new to Android (well I used to have a moto droid) but I have a couple questions. First off does the battery usage in my picture seem correct? I feel like it shouldnt be that low, only 2 and a half hours of screen on time.
Second quedtion is what is that icon directly to the left of the vibrate icon on my notification bar?
Also I have most all features turned off and power saver mode is on.

Your battery looks fine, and I believe that icon is the NFC (Near field communication) Icon. I could be wrong, but yeah
I actually feel thats a little low, well from my experience

To answer your first question, there can be many reasons why your battery seems low. You could have some wakelocks that reduces your battery or signal strength could be low.
Second question, the diamond with the cross and signals on the right side icon is the location services. It is your GPS, VZW location services, and Wi-fi & mobile network locations. If you turn off all those options you will only have the diamond with a cross.
It is hard to tell the whole picture from your screenshot but it seems you may have an app keeping a wakelock.
Install something like this to monitor what app is keeping the phone awake and cutting down on time spent in deep sleep.

How many hours of screen time does it say? Without seeing that, I would guess your on the low side of battery life though.

Correct, try out the app from my post to try to track down the app causing the wakelocks.
Also I'm sorry ha, but I turned off all those e911 options you spoke of. Will this improve battery? And by turning those things off what does that disable me from being able to do exactly?

The battery has a small area cut into it to path the speaker out the bottom of the phone. It sounds pretty loud to me, but I will have to swap back to the original battery to check the difference.
I have gone 3 days of pretty medium usage. Its definitely an impressive battery!

Yep same here through my second cycle now. When it gets to 1% I power off remove battery and replace and power on to 4-15%. Normally run a battery waster app to drain. Been meaning to exercise same principle to charging but lazy about it. When I get through 5 cycles I'll probably check out one of the calibration apps. Crossing fingers...
