Google Nexus Tablet Detail Leak - HTC EVO 3D

http://www.androidcentral.com/googl...-leak-expect-it-australia-july?style_mobile=0
I'm still going for the 10.1" 1920x1080 Transformer Pad Infinity, but for people that like a 7" ( ) can go for the nexus tab.

tegra 3, fail.
an s4 silicon chipset with corresponding GPU would have been nice. exynos, not really "cutting edge" by todays performance standards.

I disagree. Tegra 3 and nvidia are way ahead it terms of developer support. That's why there are so many tegra 3 titles. And at the $200 price point this makes the kindle fire look, well, horrible. I am very pleased with the original specs. Yes krait may have been better but nvidia goes out of its way to lower price points and gets it soc in as many devices as possible. If you want something that has all the greatest hardware then u have to put out the $$$. At $200 I know the android community will flock to it and I hope consumers will to. All in all, I will get one and I hope the 7inch factor will be as useful as I think.

only 8gb without a sd card slot is bad, really bad, why have that nice screen when you basically dont have even the space to load movies on it?

I can't comprehend why Google is being so stupid with their Nexus lineup, especially tablets. I would absolutely love to use one of these on vacations/business trips with an HDMI cable to take my media with me and still watch them on a TV. I want to fill this thing up with tv shows and movies (and even music if possible) but it seems like they don't give a crap. Not including a microsd card is a freaking deal breaker every damn time.
Not to change the subject, but if we do get multiple Nexus phones from the big manufacturers later this year.. and not a single one of them has a microsd card.. I'm going to pull my hair out and scream. haha

well then this probably isnt the tab for you. i dont think thats what they are going for. as far as the nexus devices go isnt like each major manufacturer making one? so it'll kind be up to them to include an sd card slot or not unless google requires them to exclude it.

That's what I am afraid of. They've skimped on the last two Nexus phones. The least they could do is offer 32gb standard. The GSM Galaxy Nexus has 16gb while the CDMA versions both have 32gb.
I would prefer to go Nexus with my next phone and tablet, but Google's got to get their head out of their ass first. It's way too early to rely on the cloud for all of your media needs - especially on a tablet that is wifi only. It's asinine.

Do they have a microSD slot?
If they do, I don't see what the problem with only 8GB is. They did that so you could have a nice tablet with good specs at the price of $200. If you want more storage, just pay the $50 for a 64GB micro sd card. A 64GB variant of the tablet would probably cost $300 anyway so you'd be getting a better deal than if it was already 64GB.
As for relying on cloud storage, I hate how we're being forced to do that. I ****ing hate cloud storage since streaming with sprint's 3G is slow as hell and it wouldn't be adequate for a tablet. Cloud storage should only become a norm when we have mobile satellite internet or some sort of internet that's fast and everywhere.

I disagree. Tegra 3 and nvidia are way behind it terms of developer support. That's why there are so few ics tegra 2 roms and all of them suck. Pumping funds in game developers to make titles exclusive is not what I would call dev support. But withholding drivers and disclosing specs is exactly what I would call neglect the devs.

The guys over at Linux aren't very fond of Nvidia. Linus Trovalds (creator of Linux) says "NVIDIA has been the single worst company we've ever dealt with!" and gives a big middle finger to the company on camera.
Basically, Nvidia is making tons of money off of multiple open source linux platforms without giving anything back to the open source community.

I know its already been replied to, but I wanted to reiterate this. I already did buy the 64GB card and I LOVE it. I can store as much crap as I want. I've watched an entire season of Archer on planes to/from Denver and in a hotel there while on business. I basically want to be able to load a tablet up and not have to worry about running out of new stuff to watch or listen to. I was able to do that with my old Nook Color that ran CM7 before I sold it on ebay. To not be able to do something so simple on the pure Google tablet (which will run circles around any Nook or Kindle) is just not right. Hopefully the leaked information is incomplete or inaccurate and it does have a microsd slot.
If they botch this then I will probably look to get an Asus tablet since it only took them about a month to bump the Transformer Prime up to ICS and the OG Transformer wasn't very far along after that. Google better do something amazing tomorrow if they want my $ -- and trust me I've been dying to give it to them for a while now. haha

So, what about USB otg support? Maybe that will solve storage problems.
Anyone got information bout that?

OK so I got around to thinking about this "problem" of not having microsd slots on new devices, and I was wondering if anyone out there makes an accessory that attaches to the charger and has a card reader on it. Basically an external card reader. It wouldn't be the fastest for transferring files I'm sure, but it's better than giving up all the microsd cards my family has acquired.
I did some Googling and found this thing on Amazon -- does anyone know if it does what I described above? I can't tell if its meant for use with actual phones/tablets or just the computer.
Or if anyone knows of a product that does exist and can provide a link (or even a name) that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

sd card for transfer only....

Wow, now I remember why I dont buy sony products. Whoever decided to make the sd card slot usless should get a tab up side the head.
Sd card: useless compared to non crippled slots
Micro usb? really? thats the best you could cram into a tablet this size... fail
No hdmi? major fail
The charger is the worst piece of crap I have ever seen
Bravo sony, you wanted to create a tablet that you had to cut by 100$ and a tablet that is crippled and missing its leggs.
Even some 7inch tabs have hdmi, full size usb and a charger that doesnt sound like metal teeth being snapped.
As for power and gpu, my samsung galaxy NOTE gt-N7000 runs circles around this failure.
If you love it, good for you, I require more.
Rant over
First of all, of course you galaxy note runs circles around it. It's clocked at 1.4ghz vs the sony s's 1ghz. Not really sure what your basis for the claims of the GPU performance are.. they should be fairly similar though, so if the Galaxy Note does indeed outperform it then your right that it's pretty crappy of Sony.
I agree with you for most of the other parts though. Can't really justify the need for downsizing the USB port when it's such a large case up there. Hell they could have fit two there! HDMI would have been great, but there are plenty that don't have it on the market, at least this one offers DLNA. I don't have a problem with the charger.. seems to me that it would be much, much more durable than the micro USB's android phones ahve been strapping.
Plus some people pay hundreds for a universal remote, and this has one with great form and function. Like anything it has it's pro's and cons.
The two things that stung me about it that got me after purchase is the SDcard storage thingo, and lack of support from gameloft :\.
But hey, could be worse and just not have an SD card slot like some do. Now that is a fail.

The gpu plays as big a roll as the cpu in terms of render. I had a 154$ tablet that used an all winner cortex9 with a mali-400 gpu and it destroys the sony tablet. Of course at 154$ it had a ****ty 7inch screen. After my iphone 4 and 4s, i cant go back to hiddeous pixel screens. I found the perfect middle ground in my Samsung Note. It has the muscle to back up its amazing screen.
BTW, that cheap tablet with the amazing cpu/gpu had hdmi, usb and a micro sdhc slot. Its the now gone Ainol Novo 7 Advanced (not the the basic model).
I must say, the sony tablet screen look terrible compared to my Note but if i hold it far enough away, the pixels dont jump out at me as much.
Mind you its apples to oranges because the Note's display is an ips super amoled with an almost retina ppi.
I called sony today to pass on my thoughts. They sound ignorant. Their sales reflect that. Maybe if they drop it another 100$ people will stop returning it when the insert their sd card and haul the charger out of the box with a tractor.

Oh, and try to download a movie on your sony tablet directly to you sd card.... oh right, crippled
Regarding the "crippled" SD Card slot, as far as I can tell its only crippled with Sony apps. If you use any standard Android app the SD card slot is fully usable and accessible. I've got a 32 gig sd card in there and have no problem playing videos/music/open files directly off it. No speed issues or anything. I never transfer anything...

Nowhere did I refer to playback. Try to download natively to your sd card with your tablet. Crippled. Playback is useless if you cant get the media on the card in the first place. Maybe run out and buy a real tablet to do the muscle work and use the sony for the pansy playback?
Did Sony kill your parents? Good Lord, let it go. You don't like the Tablet S, but a lot of us do. Who cares? Don't buy it! I like PS3 controller compatibility and universal remote features. They build different tablets for a reason, just like how they make different phones, different TVs, furniture, cars, ice cream flavors, etc...
You can use dolphin browser ( and many other browser ) to download file into sd card directly.

Anything I say will be meaningless to you for the simple fact that you are limited to your own opinion. I however dont get frustrated when other people are not acting as my clone.
"Sony s runs android"?? do you think my more capable Note runs windows 7??Obviously they both use android.
On most tablets and my Note, "I" decide where my downloads go ie to the units memory or to the memory card I have installed. Sony s makes that choice for you. Its not my opinion, its a fact. Kinda runs in the face of what android lovers seem to hold so dear... "freedom".
I may sell my crippled tablet for a capable one, or just give it to my 5 year old nephew to play with.
I will pick up a galaxy tab, as far as I can see, looks better.
Dont hate on people, life is too short ;-)
lifes too short to go moaning on a forum about a problem thats arguable negligible to most usage scenarios, then writing snarky 'witticisms'.
your really need more hobbies if you're resorting to torrenting on tablets and complaining about not being able to do so on one model.... (who the heck does that?!!).

Thanks for being helpful. I knew i wasnt the only person to ever complain here about the sd problem. I wasnt harping on it, simply replying to people who took the time to talk with me about it.
I too look forward to a root and i hope that the sd problem is software not hardeware and that sony might wake up to at least match 150$ tablets in that regard.

My 3rd party apps that download video or music content are restricted to the 16GB internal. There is zero way to make anything go to the sd card because the tablet treats the sd card as if it wasnt even there. The only thing the tablet can do is transfer files to and from the sd card.. Period.
As for dolphin, what would you download with that?
On a side note.. you can download with atorrent and specify the the destination can't you? The only problem I had with it was wifi going into sleep mode.. so I was pretty dissapoinnted to wake up and find it only downloaded 1.2%. lol.
Basically I knew what I was buying hardware wise when I bought it - aside from the creaks I discovered later. Then was massively let down software wise due to the restrictions.
I feel asthough if we got it rooted, we could just rename sdcard1 to sdcar2, and vice versa. Hopefully such a switcharoo would work and then it would continue on as it has, but with much more memory there .
It's going to be a real shame if Sony's take on ICS leaves us in the same boat, can't be rooted, can't be downgraded, and then someone discovers a root for HC

Nexus 7 with Jelly Bean for $200 -- Time to Craigslist my Nook Color Tablet?

Wow... the specs on the Nexus 7 Tablet by Google (built by ASUS) are incredible. It comes with Jelly Bean (Android 4.1, successor to ICS). 1280x800 display. Quad-core CPU. I don't mean to be an ungrateful dic<, but the pace of development for the Nook Color Tablet just hasn't been as fast as I've enjoyed for all of the other Android devices I've owned (Motorola Droid-X; Samsung Droid Charge; Motorola Razr MAXX). The Nexus 7 is going to sell for $200.00. I think I'm going to see if Craigslist can turn my Nook into a hundred bux and I'll move to up to a device that is ready for primetime now.
No SD card slot = I don't give a **** about it.
Seriously, move on to another device if you want, no need to bring it in here.

Sadly, or happily, sounds like the Nexus 7 is the answer to a lot of Devs who wanted ICS on an awesome piece of cheap hardware. I know I'm thinking about diving in for one to play with.
No SD slot, though, that's a bummer.
I want to buy it so badly and sell my Nook.
But jesus christ the top/bottom bezels are atrocious. Not to mention it likely does not have an sdcard slot.
Welp.
Jelly Bean updates are cool though.

The device for this forum does not have color in its name. The Nook Color had tons of development for over a year and continues to have it. The Droid Charge had minimal development as it was not a very popular phone and the maxx....well its a locked motorola phone, yippee.
With that said, the minimal development you see here is the fault of B&N IMO. If they had released the 8GB model on launch, perhaps it would have been the Nook Tablet that was destroying the 7" market, and not the Kindle Fire. More owners generally means more development.
$50 means a lot more than better specs to the average consumer when you're talking about a cheap, 7" media consumption device.
Actually, it ships with Jelly Bean, not ICS.

Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. Sorry. I wasn't trying to start a flameout over something as trivial as a tablet.
I used to feel the same way as you about the SD card slot. I never would have considered a tablet without one. However, I have never used the SD slot in my existing 16gb Nook Tablet. I (my kids, actually) only use it to play games and to stream video off of the family video library. I agree that having an SD card slot would be preferable. Case in point, my Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet has a micro SD slot, a full-size SD slot and a USB host port. I use the full-size SD slot all the time to display pics that I've just shot on my SLR. Having more and different ports is always a good thing, but lack of a slot won't be a dealbreaker for us given the way that my kids will use the device.
I would also expect that this would be much easier (if not stock) to have a functioning USB host, allowing you to mount USB drives which could almost make up for the lack of SD. Also I don't need to even go into the hardware. I do feel like the Nook is probably more solidly built. If I would have been buying a 7" tablet soon I would have definitely held off to see how this nexus tablet turns out. If for some reason development on the 3.0 kernel is at a stop I would probably do the same, but for now the Nook is working fine.

Keithn,
Is there a ROM for the Nook Tablet that is not in beta that you like? I bought my daughter this Nook. It supplants the two iPads and four iPod Touches that she and my other kids share. I haven't done much with the Nook other than to root it, install an alternate launcher, install Google Play, etc. It's ok for the kids to play games on and OK for streaming video the family NAS video library. But it still seems kind of kludgy. As near as I can tell, there's a CM9 Alpha being worked on and a CM7, which I think is a Beta. If there's any other ROM out there for the Nook, I'm not aware of it. For every phone I've owned, there's always been about dozen different ROMs available. Is there a ROM that you like? I'll probably buy the Nexus 7 regardless (because I'm ridiculous techslut), but I'll keep the Nook if I can improve it.

What he said.
SD slot is the dealbreaker, no matter how fast or thin or fancy the tablet is. I want the ability to add as much or as little content as I desire and not need to be near my computer to do it. Looks like a great device but without an SD card slot- it's no Nook killer.

Do you not ever install content by WIFI? I use WIFI File Explorer all the time to move files back and forth from my Android devices. It's unclear to me how using an SD card to move data in/out of and Android device would be a better alternative to WIFI? I mean, even if you're not near your computer as you say, how are you going to get data (that is destined for the Nook) onto the SD card to begin with if you don't a computer nearby? And if it's data to be taken off the Nook, how does putting it on an SD card help until you're "near your computer." Confused. Not trying to be a smartass. Just confused.

I'm primarily on CM7, I'm not too set on whether it's deemed alpha, beta, or whatever. As long as every thing I use it for works I can always modify certain things to make it how I want with, themes, launchers, build.prop tweaks etc. I've tested the 3.0 kernel CM9 and as soon as it's more stable I'll be on that.
If you have never owned a Nexus device you wouldn't understand. I will never buy another non nexus phone, and after today (just put in my preorder) I will never buy another non nexus tablet. I with all the cloud services out there I have no use for expandable memory. The day jelly bean is released there will be several users pleading developers to port it to their devices. With a Nexus device you won't have that problem.

SD slot is the dealbreaker, no matter how fast or thin or fancy the tablet is. I want the ability to add as much or as little content as I desire and not need to be near my computer to do it. Looks like a great device but without an SD card slot- it's no Nook killer.

am i the first to mention there are two 'nexus 7's, a kindle ( nook too ) buster at $199 and then there is the improved model for fifty dollars more that has extra stuff. Hmm, what do you get for fifty bucks ?

Bluetooth
Micro USB

.
and no micro SD memory slot... No buttons... How is XDA going to crack it ?
I was waiting for a Nexus 7 announcement , because I like 7-inchers and because I'm sick and tired of CM7 phone UI layout( even with all tweaks it's still too phone-ish).
And what I see? Nexus 7 runs Jelly Bean with pure phone layout, though device is constantly called "tablet", WTF?
I'm there with ya! See ya nook! it's already listed on eBay! For a moment the SD card slot was in question, but with all the cloud storage and unlimited 4g data and tethering on my phone, I wont need the extra storage.
It's been a fun 6 months, but really I'm done with the hassle.
But I want to thank all the DEVs, for their hard work, and all you that i sent donations to. Keep working hard making this stuff better for everyone!!!

I think that there's still a lot of confusion -- at least in my head -- about Jelly Bean and the Nexus 7. On one hand, I did read that the N-7 had a very phone-ish layout, but on the other hand, I read that JB is intended to be a tablet-only release. So I'm confused.

Well wifi works great- if you're near your computer.
If not, wifi, she no work so good. For example if I'm taking a flight, or I dunno, leaving my house even slightly, I can't exactly sync anything up with the computer and transfer data via wifi.
But with SD cards, which are tiny and cheap as hell these days, I can just dump a bunch of content on there, stick the cards in my pocket and swap them in and out of the nook as I see fit. You fill one card up with movies, fill another one up with music, etc. Without the SD card slot, what you have on your tablet is all you're GONNA have on your tablet until you're back at your computer. With SD cards you have far more options. Yeah you have to be at your computer to fill the SD cards, but that's a lot quicker and easier than constantly adding trying to remove and add content via wifi.
Also, SD cards allow you to odd more onboard storage in general. I've got a lovely 32 gig card that I use with my Nook tablet, which holds so much that I rarely have to use other SD cards (though I like having that option). The Kindle and this new Nexus tablet top out at 16, which is pretty small these day. Dump a few movies and apps on there and boom- yer done. Now if they wanna sell a 100 gig version, then maaaaaaaaaaaaybe that'd work, but in the meantime the space they offer is just too limited. And this "cloud" stuff doesn't really help, because downloading big files takes a long time and who knows if yer even gonna be near a wifi source when you need something.
Bottom line: an SD card slot just adds more options. You may not ever need it- but it's sure nice to have it.

Nexus 7, what's everyone's thoughts?

I know we are still all enjoying our brand new EVO's but google just gave us something even more exciting to salivate over!
What's everyone's thoughts on it?
So far I can't say that it "blew me away" but for the price point you really can't get better hardware without having the manufacturer take a severe hit on profits...I'd hate to see Asus or google turn into the next sony.
We are getting a quad-core CPU and apparently an amazing GPU, what else can you really ask for? The resolution is pretty darn decent for the price as well.
If this was any other device i'd typically pass it up BUT this is a nexus device! I am freaking excited as a mofo for what the development community is going to look like. This is the first actual flagship android device imo since phones have always been crippled by carrier support. Every dev and their mamas are going to get this thng! I seriously can't wait to see what's in store. I mean every android device has their share of phenomenal devs, now imagine all of them in one place...
By far the greatest feature any device can have for me.
Can't wait!
what are all your thoughts on it? One more new android device before years end to purchase?
Price, Jellybean & what not = 
Bezel = 
Pretty much, I have to read & see the I/O event.

yeah I hear you. I really think Google should have added a 10.1 inch device to its line up that is completely bleeding edge and higher on the price tag. That way they'd have tackled every aspect of mobile devices...but who knows, they still have more to announce so we'll see.

agreed. but again, as you said... for the money, hell of a deal. and i am not slamming the tegra 3, it is a good chipset, as well as the GPU it comes with. but the s4 chip and GPU is unmatched in performance as of right now.
adreno 225 GPU is flat out a rendering powerhouse. and the chip architecture of the s4 is more efficient.
plus... i can only imagine under heavy use what kind of a power suck that tegra 3 will be with 4 logical processors rolling at once.
here is some interesting stuff i found, for further comparison.

Nexus devices aren't meant to have mind blowing Hardware.
They're a basis for future devices. This particular nexus device has the alterior motive of disrupting Amazons tablet dominance.

In light of Goggle's efforts to build Google Play as a unified content portal (and the fact that every full-sized Android tablet that tried to compete with the iPad has been a train wreck so far), it seems like they're taking direct aim at Amazon rather than at Apple.
I'm gonna get one to tide me over until Surface x86 comes out then my 5 year old will have an awesome Android tablet.
Keep calm and flash on...

The gains are likely due in no small part to improvements in Krait's cache/memory controller. Krait can also issue multi-issue FP instructions, A9 class architectures can apparenty only dual-issue integer instructions.

Tegra 3 is going to multi-task better. Plus all the exclusive games come with Tegra.
The s4 is good for a phone. But tablet the tegra is better.

I completely agree with you. If I had a choice I'd choose the S4 over Tegra 3 on just about any devices...but once again, the biggest draw for me on this device is going to be the development community.
I feel pretty confident in saying that this device will have the biggest Android development community of any device thus far.
I broke my iPad about a month and a half ago and waited to see this tablet. It satisfies everything I'm looking for and I prefer the 7'' screen too. I already preordered the 16GB.
I won't be buying it. Even if it came with keylime pie. No micro sd and the bezel seems too big.... They could have made the screen bigger.
it says it has a "micro usb," my question is
a) do I need a usb OTG cable to plug in an external hdd?
b) can I use the external hdd while charging the tablet?
wow, it really stinks there's no microSD, I really figured that'd be a given.
What I'm wondering is why they decided to go with 7" rather than 10" or 10.1".
7" inches just feels too close to a phone for me.

It is… but they want your money. Want something with microSD support? Pay more for another device. Wouldn’t have been hard to implement, but hey let’s just rape the consumer because we can. Better not give them everything all in one otherwise they will not buy other products…. Perceived value. “you get what you pay for…” its BS. You get what they decide to give you at whatever price they decide is appropriate. Adding features costs nothing really to them…. Adding VALUE…….. for your money…. Does, however, cost them money as you are then inclined to not pay twice the amount for the same product with a few more cool features.
Welcome to marketing 101.
It’s the same concept Apple lives on… “hey let’s make an 8, 16, 32, and 64 GB version of the SAME DEVICE… why, you ask? Because then it will cause sheople to feel like the extra space is more valuable, and they will give more money to US rather than sandisk…. Who would otherwise conveniently provide them a way to increase storage space.”
Nope, you buy a more expensive device from us so we can have your money instead of them.
This kind of crap pisses me off. if you couldn’t tell. lollllll

There is no tablet specific android version anymore. Honeycomb was the only one.
Have you not noticed that the Nexus devices don't have sd cards... Why would this one be different. Also the less storage you have on board the more likely you are to use their cloud services and not pirate video.

Very disappointed it doesn't have a SD card slot, but at that price I ordered one any way.

Nexus 7 (Google Tablet) Announced - No micro sd slot - Google TV also released

https://www.google.com/nexus/#/7
lack of micro sd really sucks since paying $50 for 8GB of extra space could get me a 64GB microsd...
I agree - plus a regular SD-slot would make it really useful for photographers and general data upload to the cloud. Oh well, I ponied up for the 16GB version anyway (actually two of them).

I'd party that extra 50 just to make it easier to load up apps and to have the extra storage for the so many things Android that still won't work properly with a SDHC card. Then still spend that $50 for a 64 GB SDXC card. But without it I doubt I'd buy either version of the tablet.

Google must have decided that cloud storage and streaming is the future or......., they are encouraging people to root there phones and use Wifi Tether:laugh:
8 & 16 would be great if it = exactly the amount of user accessable space available.
In reality we have 5.8xGB & 12.8xGB est storage.
This really hurts the gaming & app installs big-time. Music & Photos should be ok from the Cloud.
Wow....literally just was about to hit "Complete your purchase" when I actually started to do more research on it....
$230 (after tax S&H...) for an 8GB tablet w/ no MicroSDHC or MicroSDXC?? Definitely going to have to sleep on this one first.
But, my god, that thing is made by Asus, Nvidia Quad-Core, 4.1 Android Jelly Bean!
$230 is not bad....Somebody convince me to buy it!!
EDIT: But where oh where will I put my many episodes of Star Trek? MacGyver? Stargate SG-1? I can't access that content when I have no internet available at work....

Its a mental challenge really:
Just think, $230 total is just $20 shy of the 16GB at $250 but that in reality + shipping could be $280.
No sd card slot has prevented me from owning a nexus device.... That is a deal breaker for me! Once they get that, I'm onboard

amazon with their private marketplace and semi-forked os is damaging google sales.
this tablet its intended as a replacement for the kindle fire - if you were intrested in buying a kindle fire this is better in any possible way and cost the same.
if you wanted to buy a more generic tablet, this is expressly built so the other units remain actractive even if they cost more as google dont want to cannibalize its partners sales.
basically its a "**** you, amazon" gift from google.

When will these manufactures learn that expandable memory is a must? We don't always have access to WiFi to use the cloud. This greatly limits when and where we can use their products. Why do they seem hell bent on pushing the cloud on us. Yes its nice to have online storage but when your not near WiFi it makes it useless.

Will you buy the nexus 10? Vote in the poll!
At this point in time I really have no use for a device like this, considering that I already have a Nexus 7. When I do buy a tablet it will most likely be a Windows 8 Pro laptop/tablet hybrid. Something that I can get work done on when I need to work, and consume media on when I want to consume media. It is an attractive option though.

Is is going to be $399 for the 16 GB Wifi Model and $499 for the 32 GB Wifi Model.
Absolutely. After spending some time with a loaner N7 a few months ago, the N10 is exactly what I've been holding out for.
My enthusiasm is almost Apple-esque.
I don't like the look of it so no.
take my money nao!!!
I was excited to see the specs or the Nexus 10, but the price for me is hard to justify. I know the 300ppi screen would be beautiful, but I would only really use that for movies and I am usually watching movies on my pc anyway. I have a tf201 right now and I only use it for movies and reading(which is a bear sometimes). Personally I think I will pick up a new nexus 7 32gb model. Just my opinion.
on the fence. On the one hand the specs are great. On the other, I think they totally missed the mark on design on both the tablet and the official cover. I am no apple fan boy at all, and constantly belittle many of their practices. Their hardware design is king though, in the tiny details. This cover with the back attachment looking bit is not clean looking, and the slightly rounded off sides to the tablet are a bad choice :imo:
The nexus 7 on the other hand is a beautiful design. Will have to play with both side by side and see which is for me. hdmi out is nice too...
