How I fix the glitching and random reboots on stock roms - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I have read this concern and found my own way of fixing it.
More than likely ur getting these issues because ur upgraded or didn't wipe when flashing a rom
How to fix
Back up your stuff
Perform factory reset
For locked devices go to Asus and download your current firmware.
Copy that to your internal sd card not in a specific folder.
Reboot device and let it update ur device again
This fixed my prime and my brother in laws tf101
For custom unlocked folks
Wipe all and wipe all system, data, cache, then install rom of choice and when u restore your Apps from like tiBU like me, only restore app not data

Do you mind panning around Google Earth, specifically in NYC with 3D buildings enabled? I'm curious to know whether this process has had any effect on the ANRs under these circumstances.

Google Earth in NYC with 3d buildings enabled and I got 3 Wait or close pop ups, it lagged big time too.
I don't ever use earth on anything because Google maps is fine for me.

Thank you for checking. I don't regularly use it either, but it's a cool app and I'd like to be able to use it on occasion.

I noticed that it hangs up a lot more with 3d buildings enabled. I tried it without that and it was much smoother.
Pretty bad considering this is the most power Android device available

Earth plays much better after clearing all the data in app manager and in the setting of earth

Exactly. My dual-core Galaxy Nexus runs Earth with 3D buildings beautifully. It's a travesty that I can't view them on my more powerful 10" tablet. Come on, Asus.

I did that and though I noticed an improvement at first, too. But after using it a little more, the complete freezes and lockups, and ANRs all resumed.

I've read instructions on other threads that suggest putting the firmware on an external sd card and running the install from that. Will that do anything different that doing it from the internal sd card? Will the update be found automatically when the tablet launches after the wipe, or do you need to trigger it: either by selecting the file itself or via the setting menu->check updates button?
After you did that, did you reboot, do a soft reset, or cold boot again immediately before setting up any accounts or downloading apps? Did you let Google download all your previous apps, or did you do so selectively, and in any particular order? I'm new at this, and hoping to get my tablet running better and not worse by the end of it all...
Thanks!

no u have to have it on the root of the internal sd card.
All this does is updates it but uses the entire rom instead of pieces. CWM doesnt allow you to install from ext sd either

browser2ram delete cache and history on internet browser

Hi
I like this app browser2ram but cache and history are deleted every time i turn off my Asus prime
Is there asolution to solve this?
Email the developer.

The app works by creating a RAM drive on which to store the browser data so by definition this gets wiped on reboot. Apparently it does save the "local bookmarks" data to disk every 12 hours and before each reboot but this is no use if you are syncing with Chrome bookmarks via your Google account.
I am no developer but I imagine TheOnionKnight doesn't think it is worth the extra work to get all the data saved for a project which is very much a stop-gap while Asus pulls its finger out and gets the browser working correctly.
Personally I find having to re-sync the browser on every reboot a small price to pay for the huge increase in smoothness this script gives us.
Where is this app? I tried the market but couldn't find it.

The app is fantastic. Honestly I could care less about cache and history. It saves bookmarks and is very fast. http://mark-tech.blogspot.com/2012/06/browser2ram-fixes-transformer-prime.html

Does this script/app work with all of the browsers or only the stock one?

Works only on the stock browser:good:
issue
I've DL the file multiple times even from drop box. When I go to install it says I have no space and gives me the option to manage apps. But I have 24gigs of storage left and also uninstalled 3 apps and cleared its cache. I've read that a factory data wipe "might" work.
Any thoughts?

I think after few changes it could work with any browser. When I get to my home computer (monday) I'll try to modify it for Chrome.
Jelly Bean update
I installed browser2ram and it worked fine.
However, this morning i received the JB update, but it wouldn't work. did it happen the same to you?

Unable to acess pictures or delete files from internel memory..

Tried a few roms and suddenly unable to look at photo gallery. Just shows blank thumbnails and also unable to delete files from internal memory..?

Can you access your files via USB to your computer?
If you're using an app like root explorer make sure you are in read/write and not read only.
Also, you may need to unmount or remount your sdcard partition.

I can thru pc but not on tablet. Theres no unmount its built in. I cant see pictures thru gallery either just shows blank thumbnails

Ok I would copy all of the data on internal memory over to your PC first and foremost.
Once you've verified it's all copied over and safe, make a nandroid backup and save it to your computer.
Remove all external media, and then do a factory reset by powering up with volume down, skipping over the press up for recovery so it goes to the bootloader and then do the full internal wipe factory reset all the way to the left side of the icons. Then reboot your tablet, your same Rom should be installed and running. Once you reboot go into recovery and in recovery wipe data, cache, dalvic cache, and system and then flash your Rom and reboot. Drop just a few pics or something on your internal sd card as a test and if it works copy it all back over.

Worked perfect! THANK YOU

Wow this worked very well for too! Better than having to try the other method of wiping. Now i can sell this tablet and move on with my life. Had a good time with it but its very unstable for everyday use.
Half the time I lose access to my other sd cards and it comes up with these funky files and have to reformat it.
Oh well but thanks for the advice

Sync game saves between phone and tablet.

I'm currently playing Dead Space and Mass Effect on my android tablet. I'd like to be able to play the games on my phone without having to start over. Does any one know of a good way to sync the game saves between the devices?
Thanks
Steve

I would try Ti Backup Pro, I use it to sync my data saves to my Dropbox or Google Drive, then both device have access to the same data. Install the app normally though just restore the data...Of course both have to be rooted I think to properly save data like that.
Good Luck,
jerems
I've not rooted my phone yet but will do that tonight and give it a try.
Thanks

This is a better solution:
Root both devices
Download DirectoryBind (from XDA)
Install Dropbox (I'm sure you already have it, but if you don't use my link and we both get free space)
Create a link between your dropbox folder and the gamesave folder (so effectively, the save is sent to the dropbox folder instead. Whenever the game looks for the save it thinks it's finding it in the usual location, but instead it's on dropbox)
Do the same for both devices for effortless saving between devices
(I have a similar script setup for my PC game saves )
I finally got round to rooting my phone last night. I gave directory bind a try. I have set it up on the phone and the tablet. everything seems to be syncing fine however the game progress isn't syncing. Am I wrong in thinking that the game saves will be in the data folder for the game? for instance
/sdcard/Android/data/com.ea.deadspace_row/files/published/data
Thanks

Where is the save file located for mass effect? I could not find it in the eagames folder in the android directory. Would it be possible to take the save file from my phone and add it to my tablet for mass effect? I don't need it to sync but i gamed on my phone but now that i have a nexus 7 i would like to do all my gaming there.
any help or suggestions without rooting both? Additionally, a few of my nexus 7s have had screen lifts so I may be getting them replaced with google. I would also be filling to just transfer the mass effect save file from nexus7 to nexus 7
thanks,
Brian

Hi there, first time poster so I'm hoping for good luck
I need to transfer my saved game from my Verizon Galaxy Nexus to my Nexus 7 tablet. This is a one-time only transfer (I don't need to be going back and forth between devices). Is there any way to accomplish this for Deadspace without root and without paying for the pro version of an app?
My other option is to root both devices but I would then have to immediately unroot the Galaxy Nexus (And I'm still not clear on whether there is some secret way Verizon can tell that I have rooted my phone in the past).
Thanks for all your help!

In the case of losing your phone, some apps on Google Play supports "remote wipe" feature that helps you to clear your phone remotely.
Yeah currently a big fan of lookout premium now was just wondering about the encryption because I'm sort of paranoid and I have a lot of sensitive data and I work in a high risk environment just worried if my phone isn't lost but someone gets a hold of it for a short time enough to plug in through USB or something of that nature
