[handled]Error 80180048 while updating from 8107 to 8773 - Nokia Lumia 800

I received an update from Windowsphone connector that seems the tango update for Lumia800. I attempted to update it but failed. No matter whether using windowsphone connector or Zune, it returns only one feedback that is the error 80180048.
Unbranded HK,Black,22 installed languages
Anyone who has the idea about that?
thanks

The missing language pack when you upgrade from 7740 to 8107 may lead to this problem.
The method is to flash all the missing language packs to your phone.
Steps:
1,drag all .cab files into your cab sender folder and press "s" to flash
2,process to your normal upgrade

Getting Mango 7720 on htc mozart.

Hi guys here is a detailed description on how to get Mango 7720 on your device.
I was on DFT 7713 initially. there were errors so i had to go back to RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.30.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50U_NoDo_by_ansar.
I lost all my sms so pls remember this.
my mozart is orange
1. power of device.
2. hold down volume button and power button
3. wait for drivers to install and see usb on screen.
4. install RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.22.061.10_Radio_5.50.09.18_22.24.50.09U_by_ansar
5. Copy RUU_signed.nbh and SPL_signed.nbh from RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50_RELEASE_1 paste in RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.30.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50U_NoDo_by_ansar.
6. run romupdateutility.
7. then follow instructions here to update to 7720
Good Luck
Have been running it for 3 days now with no issues, I too was on 7713 and had to go back to NoDO. It is the going back the loses the SMS not the upgrade. If you are already on NoDO then the upgrade keeps all existing data.
what are the improvements?
i think ill stay on 7713 until the off. release of mango
its stable 100% for me
7720 is the official release. The build that is available is the one that has been sent to the carriers and device manufacturers to customise and deploy. It appears to have been leaked by a M$ employee in Germany judging by the name on the work document included with the rom containing instructions.
What would you guys recommend for someone who still has the original ROM that came with the phone when it first came out, I.e. Not even the pre NoDo update. I'm on UK Orange and I'm not sure whether to go straight for Ansar's NoDo ROM then follow these instructions or take another route.
I'd appreciate any advice
Cheers,
Wes

Check if you there are any updates for the phone by connecting to zune
if not follow my instructions from the first post.
my mozart originally came with an orange uk rom.
Can also use Stock Orange UK ROM as a starting point
Hi all
I think you can also use this ROM as a starting point:

Orange UK ROM 1.30
Worked for me

managed to update to 7720 thanks very much
some points to note:
1. the 7712 update took an age to get going and complete, so anyone who thinks it may have hung just stick with it and be patient. It completed eventually for me!
2. the 4.8.2134 version of Zune that comes with the install files gets updated to a newer version if you let it, which ultimately leads to the final ISVTo7720.bat file update failing because the updatewp tool is expecting the 4.8.2134 version of Zune. I got around this by simply uninstalling Zune and re-installing the 4.8.2134 version, then running the ISVTo7720.bat again
thanks again

Succesfully updated! 7712 indeed took almost an hour to complete, but everything is fine. Unfortunately, some apps don't work - TouchXplorer, Registry Editor, Battery Meter...
Ur device is locked. So u have to glad it again and follow the instructions again correctly. U can get un locked 7720.
Reagards
Sent from my 7 Mozart T8698 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
You're right, following the instructions in the first post & on the wp7connect website leads to a dev locked phone.
One important note - make a copy of your backup created by Provisioning_Live as soon as it is finished! The Zune gets updated to the latest official 4.8.2345 (or so) and you'll have to uninstall it and get back to 4.8.2134 to make the update to 7720. Unfortunately, when uninstalling Zune the backup directory and all it's content IS DELETED and if you don't have it, you can't revert to a pre-update state!!!
I tried updating,
During the NoDoToRC\ISV_Provisioning_Live.exe step
- Read EULA, click agree
- Displayed windows with no text or button at all for a long time
- Checked Windows Phone Update folder, nothing inside
Is this normal and should I wait longer or something just went wrong ?
[Edit]
Does the Provisioning application check for hard drive free space ?
I changed to my notebook that has more free space and it runs smoothly.

Apparently you are running a newer version Zune. Uninstall it and install version Zune 4.8.2134.0 from the archives.
Start the installation of "updatewp" from the folder "update tool",selecting the correct version, 32 - or 64-bit.
Connect divice to your computer. Open the folder "NoDoToRC" and run "ISV_Provisioning_Live.exe" with administrator privileges. Wait for the end of the process and restart device.
THX)))
I checked and double checked the Zune installation.
And originally the Zune on my desktop are still at 4.7, so I installed the 4.8 from the package. Then uninstall and install it again several times.
Anyway, all goes well from my notebook and running 7720 now
guys i currently have:
german t-mobile mozart running
OS: 7392
Bootloader: 1.33.2250.1
now i'm not sure what do i need to do in order to get mango on it...
should i downgrade it to some earlier version first or something else?
cheers
Whether u want locked mango or unlocked mango
if u want locked mango just update through zune thats all....
If u want unlocked mango read this thread and follow,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16594869&postcount=2
regards
cheers for quick reply...
if i'm not mistaken, chevron will offer some way to unlock the phone "officially" soon... if that's the case, then i'll wait for that and in the meantime install locked mango...
but when you say update through zune, do you mean WAIT for update through zune, or download the mango from here and install it?
thanks again

What does 7740 bring you? First time I've heard of this version.
Internet Sharing
Is "internet sharing" working with this update?
Just updated, Great, not sure what any difference is but my phone is 7740 now
It fixes some of the Exchange Server issues that Build 7720 has and it also adds some improvements to the voicemail notification.
+ I guess: Internet sharing
=)

"Hi ALL.
HTC and SAMSUNG are PUSHING OUT UPDATE through ZUNE.
DO NOT UPDATE to that if by chance u have it cause it will CHANGE your BOOTLOADER(SPL) to 5.XX and making you not to be able to FLASH ROM.
I am using HTC HD7 the SPL is 5.10. Don't know what SAMSUNG will be but I do know u won't be ABLE to FLASH ANY ROM."
Any of you can confirm if in HD2 change number of bootloader
Thanks
Just applied this cab, no internet sharing whatsoever.
Rebooted phone and held down volume:
Code:
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x30
So I guess my bootloader is still intact.
updated my hd2 sucessful,
i'm on 7.10.7740.16 now. firmware revision 72250.21.40600.444, bootloader 0.96.2250.0.
internetsharing (settings-page activated with cab around here) doesn't work like before because of "wrong settings" my apn is set to web.vodafone.de
any idea what i can do to make it work??

few weeks ago i have this problem with bootloader 0.96....
solution: simple turn off device. pull out battery and leave few minutes without battery. putt battery back and boot to bootloader... HSPL 2.08 must be back.... if not try without battery longer....
oh, not to get me wrong, my phone boots and runs correctly, just the internet sharing doesn't work... the bootloader info i wrote is just displayed in the phone's info page ...
[edit] ... oh, ok, you're right, it's displayed in bootloader-mode (tricolor-screen), too... will try your method now any further help with ics still appreciated..
Recently I have not been getting sms notification of voicemails.
This update seems to have fixed this issue.
Thanks

you can activate the ics toggle in the settings page with the xap on this thread (for instruction see the last sentence in first post)
but if switched to on, it will still pop up with a messsage
"Connecton not shared. There's a problem with the current settings" because of the lack of proper driver (firmware) updates

HTC-Update (firmware) fails

Guys,
i have a Mozart branded with T-MO Germany and the latest Mango Update. All is stock, nothing tweaked.
Today I was announced that an HTC Update is due (firmware) supposedly bringing the Tethering to my device.
Unfortunately this updates does not succeed on my device... I tried every recommended thing, switched PCs, hard resetted the device, tried it over and over again.
After a little investigation I found out that my device seems to have pretty old Bootloader and Firmware versions compared to the device my colleague updates successfully this morning... I have the impression, that this might be the reason, why my device keeps failing.
Here the important information:
OS ver: 7.10.7740.16
FW ver: 2250.09.12505.111
Radio softw. ver: 5.50.09.18_22.24.50.09U
Radio hardw. ver: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader ver: 1.25.2250.5 (111337)
Any ideas what the problem could be and how I could fix it?
The error code Zune throws: 80180008 - Update unsuccessful
Thanx for your replies...
Same prob here - I am on b/l 1.32 though.
Hello,
I have the same issues. Did you guys get a result on this?
Hi All,
Just letting you know that I fixed my issue.
I ended up downloading and installing the Telstra branded ROM from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915827 then worked through all the updates and the latest HTC update worked, no error.
Not sure why but anyway I now have internet sharing on my Mozart - happy camper!
Thanks
Adam

Unfortunatly zune does not really tell us whats the problem underneath and the error code does not get us anywhere. Even not the suggested use of WPRestoreToolv2 (4.8.2345) gets us out of the problem.
For what i have found out the reason for the latest HTC OEM Update to actually fail is that its signature can't be verified by the installer on the device and thus the update is not getting installed. The failing signature check itself is caused by the fact that at least one of the previous HTC OEM updates were not installed. This can be verified indirectly by looking for example at the bootloader version.
The solution is quite simple: use cab sender to install the 1st HTC OEM Update and then you can successfully install the second HTC OEM Update, either by using cab sender again or via zune.
Hello bleh815,
I am getting the same issue (error 80180008), and you are suggesting:
[The solution is quite simple: use cab sender to install the 1st HTC OEM Update and then you can successfully install the second HTC OEM Update, either by using cab sender again or via zune.]
Any idea, where I can obtain the 1st and 2nd HTC OEM updates?
ZUNE only finds the 7740.16, but fails to install. I can install the cabs, if I can get hold of the OEM cabs of HTC.
Thanks

Good a question - what we get with new bootloader ?
Hello,
Probably only the resolution for the errors identified in Zune.
I never had these errors when I made the Titan updates, possibly some correction thinking in Tango future update?

Hello,
This update is available in HTC Europe page, so it should be for all europe countrys I think, and not specifically to one or two
http://www.htc.com/europe/help/htc-titan/#download
Thanks,
Santos
My Titan is from Brazil, iv just updated it.
No problems at all.
@dAV84
For french http://dl4.htc.com/managed-assets/s...e/htc-titan-zune-RUU/spl_2.6.160015.3_FRA.exe
Modified "spl_2.6.160015.3_WWE.exe" en "spl_2.6.160015.3_FRA.exe"
I think this is only for the Titan's that have problems updating due to bootloader issues. I think there was a bad batch released which couldn't update through Zune because it fails between Step 6 - 8.
And there isn't any real benefit with updating the bootloaders. The more farther we go from v1.10, the less likely that we will have a full unlock or even interop for that matter!
Finally!!!!!
No combination of words can accurately describe my happiness of getting this update. After months of being stuck in 7740, my Hong Kong Titan can finally get updated to 8107 and install that HTC Firmware update just like everyone else's unbranded Titans!

Lumia 800 Tango OEM Update

I believe this is the Lumia 800 RM 801 Tango OEM update:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._bd1d7e1563c72dea541aeabdefc5ca074fd907d1.cab
Found with Wireshark -> Updated to 8773 via cab sender then let Zune update this..
Sorry for bute what is the difference between this cab and the other from Navifirm?
Didn't work for me. Gave me an error after showing the "completing the update" message or something like this.
So tried using the cab sender method with this from 7.10.8107.79 and it failed. Don't suppose you snagged the link to the intermediate update as well?
Someone else already had ->
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27960331&postcount=929
Is for RM 801 - and must do the 2 cab updates in the thread above first!!!
Guys you scare me so much !! Why there are 2 links for every update in the thread you mentioned??? What should i do with those 2 files under the "OS:" line?? Should i install them one by one or what???
EDIT: Hey guys.. i tried sending the first .cab to my phone and it kept saying "Installing updates............" but nothing happened then i did the totally stupid thing of unpluging my phone. Now i don't know what to do. If i turn it on it keeps showing me the photo with the clear statement "do not unplung the device" sort of photo. Im so stupid what shall i do now??
EDIT 2: After staying like this ( with that picture telling me not to unplug the device ) and after many manual restarts it just booted up and said Update succesfull. Huh..
My unlocked Lumia received 3 updates... Just saying

No, you mustn't. You will mess up your phone if you deploy those two only. You should also deploy language packs for all languages currently supported by your phone, and in European Lumias it usually means all 22 of them.
So, once you installed all 24 "diff-7.10.8107.79-7.10.8112.7" cabs you can continue with all 24 "diff-7.10.8112.7-7.10.8773.98" cabs bringing your OS up to Tango version. Then you can safely deploy the OEM update cab containing the .122220 firmware, which requires OS version 7.10.8773.9 - it fails to install on phone running the 8107 OS.

Differences between what?
The OEM firmware .122220 in RM-801 gives you internet sharing and ringtone flip-to-silence. And it requires your OS to be 8773.9, otherwise the deployment fails.
OS 8773 gives you Tango - new MMS features, new wallpapers and some under-the-hood secret improvements.
OS 8112 gives you the ability to upgrade to Tango, because the 8873 update is not cummulative but a differential update requiring you to be on 8112.
And that's pretty much it. If that's what you asked.
