[Q] Sprint Family Data EVERYTHING 1500 - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I lost my new EVO LTE and while I'm waiting for a replacement, Im trying to hook up an old Palm Pre via sprint.com online. I have the Sprint Family Data EVERYTHING 1500 shared plan with 3 phones and a 25% corporate discount. The online swaping system is saying that I have to change my $110 plan to another one and there is no going back. They have an UNLIMITED minutes for 99$ and a 900 minutes for 89$ and no 1500 plan any longer. Does anyone know if the Unlimited plan for 99$ is the same or better than my 110$ 1500 minute plan? I wonder if the 110$ thats on my bill before the discount includes 99$ + the 10$ monthly fee. And will I lose my corporate discount if I switch? I don't want to go through the hassle again of proving my corporate discount.
Thanks in advance
I can't wait to get my EVO back

I'm quite sure the unlimited plan for $99 is for single user, but I could be wrong

you need to call in and have them activate the phone. ran into that a couple weeks ago.

You have to do it via onlinechat or via phone. The automated process won't accept the plan.

+1 on the online chat, it's quite easy and painless via chat, pretty quick as well.

The reason it says you need a plan change is because of the LTE access that is tagged to your plan. The online system would do the same thing coming/going to any other device other than another LTE device.
If you call them it'll take 10min to get it squared away. (assuming you haven't called yet)
Sent from my EVO LTE using XDA premium

Ive swapped phones on the exact same plan, and like the others said, call them, it really does take like 10 minutes.

Ask for everything family shared plan. 129.99 for 2 or more phones. Each phone after 2 is 19.99 a month. We have 4 on phones in company using that plan.

Buy TB, grandfathered into unlimited 4G plan ?

Right now I am with Verizon, but out of contract. I completed my 2 years, so now just pay every month.
Am I right in thinking that if I buy the TB, I will get the unlimited 4G. When Verizon switches to limited 4G, I will be grandfathered in to unlimited 4G ?
I was thinking about this too.. I think you are, but you can't upgrade your phones, you have to buy retail/off contact? could be wrong though, probably am.

I just found out about this possibility this morning and called verizon and they said you will be grandfathered in. I just bought a bolt two hours ago.

If they change the plan on you, you have the option to cancel with no etf...i will take unlimited 4G though
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
You will have unlimited at least through the term of your contract. There's always the possibility that, when they launch tiered plans, they will require it when you activate a new phone (similar to what they did for feature phones) or remove it as an option when you do your next contract.

Its a very strong possibility that you will be grandfathered in. If i am not, i will be giving Verizon every ounce of hell i can give them.

Aside from the grandfathering issue, if you're contract is up, then you should try to haggle for a discount. My contract ended late last year, then took a pass on the lame 3G iPhone.
When the TB came around, I called up Verizon and told them I didn't think I was getting a good value for my contract. I had on a 1400 family plan with F&F, and our usage was only 300 min/mo or so. I told them I had started shopping other carriers and asked them what they could do for me.
They dropped me to the 700 min/mo plan, and added mobile-to-mobile at $15 less per mo. I then got a loyal customer award, one free month of service if I renewed my contract. This didn't affect phone upgrades. I also had a $50 discount for a new phone coming which was their usual bait for upgrading.
So after all that, I upgraded to the TB at considerable savings. Def worth a shot.

People SELLING SERO plans? SCAM

I can't believe someone is actually selling the INFO to open a new Sprint SERO account for $190? Really, its easy to get a SERO account for FREE! just google it and your done... jeez and this guy has sold numerous "plans" stealing someones hard earned cash. He seems to want to lure you in thinking that the evo 3d in included but there is a catch.
He then goes on to say that you are just buying access to the site to create your account and you still have to buy your phone plus pay any other fees associated with it.
check out the listing here BUT DONT BUY THIS IM NOT PROMOTING IT
his listing says:
Up for sale is Brand New Sprint Sero Premium Plan with 2-year agreement with sprint. This plan is $40 a month.
You can buy any new phone you'd like from Sprint's website. Even the new HTC EVO 3D!
Remember you pay for the phone separately. This price is just for the plan.
If you select a SMARTPHONE then its $10 a month extra.

I emailed him asking if he was a sprint authorized dealer, and I also mentioned that I called sprint to ask if the $190 fee was a one time fee or if I had to re-pay it every 2 years. and they didnt have an answer, so I would like to know if he knew? haha LOL. just hope nobody here fall prey to this guy.
If this has been posted b4 sorry, just dont want any of us e3d'ers to fall prey to this asshat.

Sprint Employee Referral Offer or something like that. I use to have it a few years back when I had my Touch Pro. It's pretty much just a discounted plan. Kind of hard to keep when you get newer phones because they try to make you switch plans.

The sero plans seem ok, but if you really wanna save some money you gotta get on the wireless advantage club. I pay $40 a month for 500 mins, unlimited data 3g/4g, unlimited texts, tv, gps, etc etc. The base is $20 + $10 for "iconic devices" (basically any decent phone) + $10 for any phone with 4g. But you have to know an actually employee willing to put you on their plan

How is 500mins for $40 a good deal? Do they still give you mobile 2 mobile free? If not, how can you use that plan???

The lowest non sero plan with unlimited data is $80. If you are like most people and only use small minutes every month, you save $40 a month and the taxes are cheaper.
Keep in mind SERO is dead, and the new plans are EPRP and are ~$20 more than SERO and the only way to get an actual SERO plan is from someone who has one adding you a line, then transferring it to it's own contract, people have been doing this, and charging a premium amount of $150-$200 since 2008.

My girlfriend and I are on a plan where we share 1500 minutes. With 12 days left in the billing cycle, we've racked up a whopping 186 minutes between us. If I could have a shared plan with 300 minutes on it for much less, I'd love that -- email, instant messaging, and texts have pretty much eaten into actual phone calls for me. Neither of us has a land line, btw.

Exactly. I have the advantage 500 min plan and I use MAYBE 150 minutes a month outside of mobile to mobile and free nights and weekends. Not to mention we get yearly upgrades.
Advantage Club is awesome. Being an employee was more awesome though.
I have 2 epics on the $129 plan, less 20% though. That's 1500 minutes w/ free cell calls and nights/weekends, and unlimited everything else as well, which makes it $51.x / per line.

[Q] thinking of upgrading, want to keep sero premium 500 plan

Hi all,
I've got the evo 4g. Thinking about upgrading to the evo lte. But when I go to sprint, it says i need to pick a new plan. I REALLY don't want to pick a new plan since i'd be paying an extra $30/mo for less I currently have the sero premium 500 plan. Base cost is $40/mo but the plan they want me to sign up for is $70/mo and i would get 50 minutes less a month.
Thats not a very enticing deal - get $150 credit for the phone, but agree to a 2 year term and pay an extra $720 over the 2 years for less talk time.
anyone know if there's a way to upgrade phones but keep the same plan? I like sprint but that sort of deal is basically sprint scream 'fk you, we dont want you as a customer'
That Sprint rep definetely didnt know what he was doing. It is 100% possible to upgrade your phone and stay on your Sero-P plan. Its best to call the offical Sero number and order your phone from them. Its clear only a few people in actual sprint stores know how to handle Sero-P plans. I will have to look up the official sero sprint number.
In the mean time, maybe you can call another sprint store and see if they know how to handle sero premium accounts
You need to call the sero accounts #

They bumped me from the old sero 500 plan to sero premium, just so I could get the lte. Then they forwarded me to telesales, who were even better, the guy added my wife with the same plan as me. When I called accounts later for some info about porting her number, the lady was all pissed off that they did something they weren't supposed to.
My experience has been that I called a few times, and every time I got a woman with a southern drawl, they wouldn't help me at all and got rather angry about the fact I was still on sero. Everytime I got a guy, they were helpful. Considering you're already on sero premium, you might be able to go straight through telesales for the phone. The only downside of ordering through telesales, is that it's $199 (cheaper elsewhere)- but you have assurances from them that your plan won't get screwed up, so it's worth the extra cost to me.

I didn't call anyone, this was just using their website. But I'll try calling and see what they say.
You got lucky - i had added a 2nd line to my account last year and they wouldn't let me put it on sero - had to get the regular plan.
I'm just going to wait a little while until the phone is out just to see what the reviews are from users and then i'll decide if i should upgrade or not.
I have a similar question.
My buddy is going to let me use a upgrade for this phone and I'm on a indirect-employee plan. Someone mentioned that one of his phones could possibly not be able to be used for 6 months after I upgrade and swap.
I called sprint they said that is not true and I can ESN swap from his account to mine as long as that line has a phone attacthed to it, which it does.
I believe we will be moved to the $50 SERO plan from the $30 if you began there.
+$10 for the "smartphone" premium, and another +$10 for the premium data fee.

This is True- and if you already have the sero premium plan, you will still have to call because the LTE addon is different from the current Data addon on the plan. But from what I've read over on other forums you can keep your Sero plan.

Wait - I have to pay another $10 extra on top of the $10 extra i already pay? I looked at the plans as though i were signing up as a new customer and i just see the single $10 additional fee.

The base SERO plan is $30
Add 10 for premium devices
Add 10 for premium data
You're gonna have to pay $50 a month for this phone - same as the iPhone and all 4g phones available with SERO.
New customer?
You need to already have SERO to have the option to use this device for $50.
I think new customers pay $80 a month for the unlimited plan with this device
I'm on sero premium 500. It's $40 plus $10 for premium data (still trying to figure out what the hell is premium about the data i use). So i pay $50. So i guess i'll keep paying what I have now, assuming i can find someone at sprint willing to let me upgrade and keep my plan.
just called in and ordered the evo lte. Didn't have to do anything to keep my plan - but I guess we'll see once I actually get the phone. I never trust things when they go that easy
Same boat, and I haven't had any problems upgrading. I've had the 4G LTE for about close to a month now.
Once you paid the extra 10 for the 4G premium data for the Evo 4G, nothing needs to change to get the LTE data. They change the name, but the details remain the same.
I'll believe it when it see it - i'm always skeptical when things just seem to work without any hassle
I just got the phone earlier today and tried activating it - wants me to pick a new plan before I can activate. Unfortunately sprint doesn't have 24 hour customer care, so hopefully I'll just call them tomorrow to get the phone activated, cuz I'm definitely not going to switch plans.
fyi - I had to call the employee sales dept, not the normal tele-sales dept to activate the phone and keep this plan.

android preferred data plan 5gigs for 20 per month

I just started a new two year one day ago, havent recieved my phone in the mail yet called customer service, asked for retention and was connected to a retention specialist. I asked for the android preferred dataplan 5 gigs for 20 per month. he told me my account was unable to recieve this plan. i explained to him that ''my friend started a new 2 year a few days ago and got on this dataplan'' he said there was nothing he could do to get me on this plan. he then offered me the 5gig plan that also features hotspot thats usually $35 for $30. (this would be a good deal if i didnt know about the $20 5gig plan) but i declined. I politely asked for his supervisor. His supervisor told me there was nothing he could do and I ended the call from there. I waited 30 seconds, called back, got a different retention specialist, politely asked for the preferred dataplan $20month for 5gigs. He pulled up my account and told me he'd be able to apply it to my account and had to get it approved by his supervisor and put me on hold for a minute. he came back on the line telling me his supervisor approved it and i now have 5gigs of data for 20 bucks a month.
TL : DR version: If you call and ask for it and they say no, keep calling until you get someone who will work with you. They DO have the power to do it.
Just called up T-Mobile and spoke with a rep. She knew exactly what the plan was and said it was a promotional offer currently being given out. I already had the 5 gig plan a month at $30 with hot spot now I got 5 gigs minus hot spot for $20. Bringing me to $76 a month total for unlimited talk + text and 5 gig data. You do have to agree to a new 2 year contract though.
Thanx for the info.

Anybody know if this works on value plans? I tried calling, but they said they didn't have it.
It'll work on value, kind of. It's a glitch at times really. If you're not gonna use tether, it's worth to save the $5 a month. If you want tether, pay the $5 to have it hassle free. I've been able to get it on value half the time but really, it's luck of the draw. If ya trust a stranger TMO rep online, pm me your # and I'll see if I can get it for ya.

20 bucks per month for unlimited data (throttled at 5gigs instead of 2)
I been with T-Mobile since voice stream left briefly for Nextel but returned to T-Mobile right after. My original plan was a promo plan 1000 minutes unlimited nights and weekends for 39.99 unlimited text for 15 and unlimited data at 20. My plan never went past 78 bux after discounts. I just recently changed my plan to unlimited and throttled data which I don't mind. I hardly go over 2 gigs anyway. Just didn't like the fact when I changed my plan to unlimited it increased by 10 bux. Now I'm back to what I'm comfortable paying for my service. I feel like I won because of the better plan.

You must not value your job much, you should know better then to offer to access someone's account without speaking with them directly. You should help him by telling him to call instead of putting your job at risk as your not supposed to access others accounts unless they are in store with you or on the phone with you.

[Q] Best T-Mobile plan for low voice, unlimited web/texts?

As a Vibrant owner, I'm of course using t-mobile. My 2 year contract is up, and I want to pay the lowest amount. I barely use my call minutes, and want unlimited texts and data. What plan should I go with?
The Tmobile site makes this confusing, because I see a $30per month plan with unlimited texts and date, and 100 minutes, but I can't switch to it.
That's because its prepaid.
For now I'm on T-Mobile prepaid $30, 1500 voice/text combo and 30mb data.
Not much data but I always use WiFi.
$49.99.
Classic plan?
500 Minutes, Unlimited (2GB 4G) data & Unlimited texts? :|
The online $30 plan is a special online only and I believe requires a new prepaid phone or acct/number.
I currently use unl talk text and data with first 100mb at 3/4g. I have gone over the 100mb a few times and don't really notice any decrease in speed. There is a $45 unl talk text and data from Walmart straight talk. They use tmo and at&t. You just have to get a sim that works on tmo from them. This will also require unlocking and a new number.

I don't know the prices, but you could try simple mobile if they're in your area. It's the gsm equivalent of metro/cricket. I believe they run off t mobile towers too. You might have to unlock it though.
100 minutes unlimited text and 5 GB 4g plan does exist. It's only available at Walmart! Google it. I have Simple Mobile $40 unlimited everything plan for about a year and it's decent, but network speeds are about 120 kbps...SM also has a $50 unlimited full 4g speed plan

Yeah, I'm doing the switch next month to this but be forewarned, if you use Wi-Fi calling, it still counts against your allotted 100 minutes. I did some research on this a couple days ago and you could add another 1500 minutes (I think) for $10 extra. You can't beat that deal
OP here. I made my switch today, and something funny happened.
I went to the TMobile store, told them my 2-year contract was up, and I want to be on a monthly plan. The store representative asked, "why?" and I told him I'd rather pay $50 per month than $90. He was confused and said I had to call customer service to switch. Whatever.
I got back home, called customer service, and they transferred me to a call center which based on the accent and forced "Americanisms" is probably in India. Just to see if I could get away with it, I told them I wanted the $30 per month plan, which is supposed to only be for new accounts. The rep on the phone said OK, and now I pay $30 per month for 100 voice minutes, and unlimited text and data!
woohoo!
That's a good plan. The first 5gb at 3/4g speed, then they throttle back however I have the $50 unl talk+texts and 100mb data @3/4g. I go over 100mb all the time and rarely notice speed reduction except for downloading large files, but that's what WiFi is for.

I have no problems switching to that plan myself online. I did buy a prepaid sim card from a real tmobile store. They told me I could switch plans myself later on so I bought it, prepaid sim can go to other prepaid plans as well as contract plans (not that I would but that's what they said)
I've been on walmart's Family Mobile almost a year and have no complaints.
I came from att and was able to port my numbers. They were working by the time I got to my car.
