Deals on the Inc 4g - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

I realize we have a ton of threads going discussing everything, but might be nice to see all the prices/deals everyone is finding either locally, online, etc
i ordered mine on lets talk http://www1.letstalk.com/droid-incredible-4-by-htc
it was $40 for an upgrade, but I used the code DROID20 at checkout and saved another 20 bucks, so final was $19.99 :good:

you got that baby rooted and ready to fly? i think i'll have one in 20 days.
actually, i just checked and i can get my phone in 15 days

While not near as good of a deal as what nitsuj17 posted Best Buy is selling it for $99. This is for new and upgrade purchasers.

Are there any deals for buying the phone without contract?

That rarely happens officially. However, eBay will have new one for less than retail.

Just checked ebay, the ones I see are selling for $520-$650. Why would anyone buy from them when they could goto verizon and get $499.
I do see some completed ones that sold for less. I guess its still early.

If you need somthing cheap the rezound is like 200 off contract on ebay used.

Yes, and on that topic, I got mine using a "Buddy Upgrade" at the VZ store for $99. Came to $106.99 with tax. There was no rebate card or anything like that. They simply took $50 off the MSRP.

Yeah I didn't believe it at first, but really happy :good:

I'm not ready to part ways with my Inc2 and i don't have an upgrade for my line for another year or so... i doubt my dad will let me steal one of their upgrades AGAIN so i'm looking to get it cheap elsewhere... I REALLY dont want to pay $500 from VZW for the phone w/o a contract... I'm going to STALK ebay, amazon, bestbuy, and maybe other reliable sites if i can find them.. if i find anything i'll be sure to post it here... let me know if you guys get lucky with a great deal!
I checked the letstalk link you posted and i have the $30 unlimited data plan and there's no way i'm going to give that up this easily lol.. is it confirmed that VZW will grandfather us in with that plan? because if not i probably won't upgrade to the inc4g for a long time...

no, if you order it through their line you wont
what to do
order using upgrade from someone else who either doesnt have unlimited or doesnt mind loosing it
have them activate it to clear the esn
have them reactivate their old phone
go to verizon to get a new sim
activate it and your gtg

what a colossal pain in the balls.. okay so i would just go to verizon store and say "hey i need a new SIM card for my phone" what do i tell them is my reason?
lol this is the first step... the only two upgrades on my plan are for two phones that dont have a data plan at all... we would have to add the data plan on there then cancel it once we activate the old one? yeah there's no way he will go for that...
so what if i get the phone without a contract, activate it on somebody else's line, (somebody who already has the new data plan) and then do the sim card thing?
sorry for typing so much.. i want this phone lol

Upgrade. When the preorder page went live there was no way to perform an upgrade. After about an hour, they added the Note into the selection phones you can use for an upgrade. I was worried they weren't going to allow upgraders to preorder, but I was wrong.
First time poster.
I just tried upgrading a line that was eligible, but the price is coming out to $399 and I can't seem to get the $100 dollars off to make it $299.

The price of the phone is $399 but there is a "$100 discount". Are you encountering this price at the time you have to pay? I think maybe the discount won't be visible in your cart until you are actually ready to pay. You have to select the Note as your phone, then click "Add a Plan" and select the appropriate data plan.

Well just pre-ordered mine from AT&T online.
I am only 7 months into my current contract (Samsung Infuse 4G) but my Note upgrade cost is $299.00 + $18 onetime fee / 2yr contract extension. Plus I'll ebay my Infuse in a few weeks so that'll help lower the cost.
I tried BestBuy but it wouldn't allow the upgrade pricing. Oh well...no free case.
HOPE I don't regret this...but I don't think I will...the Infuse (4.5") has kinda gotten me used to larger smartphones.

HOW HOW HOW ?????? You shouldnt be able to do that. I cant!!!
Pre-ordered Carbon Blue shortly after midnight using via AT&T Premier with my employers discount for monthly service. Ordered new line with "voice-restricted data-only" at $36/mo after 20% employer discount (currently I'm Sprint w EVO 4G). Was not eligible for $100 discount due to no voice-plan. Price was $375 - $25 employer discount + $21 state sales tax = $371.
And, yeah, this data-only plan (which claims "unlimited data") does not seem to be available to the general public, it's somehow tied tied to my employer-discount negotiated plans. Will be trying to use VOIP to handle the very low number of calls I make each month, but that's the topic for another forum.

The Premier website is freakin' annoying. They're listing the thing at $399 then forcing you to get a rebate. I thought Premier customers were supposed to get preferential treatment!
EDIT: Oops, looks like the discount is applied automatically when you check out. Still, it's annoying -- like they're trying to make you think you're getting a better deal than you are.

Where to buy?

This is really baffling me. This is a 6 month old phone and I can't find it for $350-400. No one in my area has it on Craigslist and eBay prices seem higher than AT&T. AT&T wants $449.99 for it which isn't bad but sales tax will hurt. It's almost frustrating. I'd like a brand new phone or one opened just to root or unlock. Why is this so hard? I still find this to be the most powerful phone on AT&T at the moment.
So you plan to use the phone elsewhere?
Got mine on craigslist for $300.

I'm in the US and I have AT&T so I don't need an unlocked Version if that's what you meant. My problem is I can't seem to find one in flawless condition or new for a reasonable price. Everyone on CL has a SkyRocket listed which doesn't help.

Got it but why need spending that much of dollars when you can get it, brand new for $10 at AT&T or 1 cent at Amazon? You're using ATT network anyway, right?
Yes, stuck with them for 2 years, but so what, unless you want to jump carrier.

Can you elaborate on this? I have a individual line with 450 mins, unlimited text and data. With taxes this comes to $90/mo. Now would a new line be only $10? Don't you need a voice and data package with that? I don't follow?

That's a ridiculous solution. Change from individual to family plan = hassle. Ten MORE dollars per month to AT$T = lame. Having to change phone numbers = hassle.
Looks like this is your best bet. $400 for a new unlocked i777 is pretty dang good.

Sorry for not giving more info. I was already on family plan. I did not have to switch numbers as the old cheap phone that was sitting in my house took over the new number. The way it seems by previous posts is i can sell my phone for at least 400 possibly more. I only owe around 210 for the remaining contract for the added line. It might not work out for everyone but it works for me.

Thanks for finding that on EXPANSYS.com. I've bought from them in the past. Is that the AT&T branded Galaxy S II though? It says unlocked so does that mean it was factory unlocked or someone unlocked it by opening it up? I need an AT&T branded phone.

you'd be looking at at least $20 more a month to do that. $59.99 family talk 550. You don't have to change numbers, you can add the line, swap it to your line and take the data off the new line.
You will end up paying $550+ depending on taxes spread out over 2 years so yeah, not the greatest solution for you.

No, its not. But she he/she was just giving me some advice. I'm liking the Expansys option at $399. I am a little concerned if the phone is used since its unlocked, and whether or not it was factory unlocked. I always thought the i777 was the AT&T version and the AT&T version only? Ugh

I would contact them before purchasing to find out what method they used for unlocking and if the phone is new. It doesn't say anything about new/used. If they just unlocked it with the subsidy unlock code, all should be well if it is indeed new. If you care about warranty.
If it is unlocked by methods found here, well that can be reversed anyhow. As long as it is new.

I'm pretty sure if the model number is I777, it's the AT&T version. That's what it shows in the picture at least; you can see the AT&T logo on it. I'd be willing to be it's new...Expansys is a trustworthy site. Still, it doesn't specifically say that, so you should probably contact them and ask.

Tiered is fine by me. I expect that. I meant the share everything plan. Like unlimited talk and text with family shared data. My plan is cheaper paying 30 per phone for data then those ridiculous plans.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk HD
Yes $30 is a lot of money for 25 or 30 gigabytes, I mean thats a dollar a gig I pay. If I went tiered it would only be $15. a gig over the first 2 so I would only be paying $450 a month for data. Oh wait, $30, is cheaper than $450, never mind.

The ONLY way to keep unlimited data is to buy it off-contract for the full retail price. There is no other way. If you pay $200, you must change your contract.
With that being said, I picked mine up about an hour ago. First one to get it at the store; they were still inventorying it when I got there.

[Q] Amazon Wireless to Upgrade

I wasn't sure if I should have posted this in the Q&A or not but decided to throw it into the General section since it is not directly related to the Thunderbolt. Just wanted to hear from my fellow Thunderbolt owners.
So onto the question...
Has anyone upgraded their device through Amazon Wireless and what was their experience? Is there any benefit to do it through Amazon (except for the price of the device) vs Verizon?
I've always gone through the Verizon store but Amazon is offering a better price on the phone.
You will have two disconnect fees if you might cancel later on. One with Amazon and one with Verizon. Other than that, I would always upgrade someone other than Verizon.

I went through Amazon to get a Note 2. Their price was really good.

I'm assuming that getting an upgrade price through amazon still makes you lose unlimited data....

Yup.... any discounted upgrade price gets rid of unlimited.
2 options to keep it, first is 100% successful second not so much.
1) Buy at full price and stay off contract.
2) Add a new line and get a new phone with it, activate a dumb phone on the line instead and drop the data package, costs 10$ a month for the new line. This one might not work for long.
option 2

So if I understand 1. buy the new phone. 2. When it arrives from Amazon don't use that phone to activate but some other dumb phone and drop data after turning on? 3. Take old sim out of Thunderbolt and use that in new phone from Amazon.
So the requirement to get a smartphone plan from Amazon is not required to meet the terms of the new phone agreement to not get dinged by the cancel fees?

[Q] When will the M8 get a discount?

I know when I bought my m7 back in August or so, I only paid $115 with a new, 2 year contract. But, If I remember correctly, some time before that they were super cheap with a new 2 year contract?
Does anyone know about how many months after launch these things usually happen?

Some private phone resellers or retailers have their own instore offers and promotions. But when I went to the Verizon Store to get the HTC Dot View case they had a Buy one M8 get one M8 free offer for 2 year extensions and new contracts, if I'm not mistaken,,,
Yeah, I saw that and I'm wishing AT&T had that as well. But, I only need it for one line. I'd be paying for a line that would never be used lol
Anyone else perturbed that AT&T still doesn't have a carrier discount yet?
AT&T is doing the next [email protected] for $0....

Eh, I'd rather not pay $24-$32 a month for the phone. I'd rather just pay the $200(or less I hope) and stay in my 2 year contract lol
Thanks, though!

Ah, see I still have "unlimited" data. I'd love to keep that and stuff.

I just got rid of my unlimited. Mobile share isn't bad. Especially since they throttle your data at 5 GB anyways. You can't tether or Hotspot (you can, but if they catch you they add a fee like they did with me) so I just switched. Paying less, although I have a data limit now it was a good deal. I never thought I would dump it

I have two lines with unlimited and is probably the only reason i have not switch. I honestly never even use 3GB of data since i am constantly on wifi. My data gets used for quick search when out and about and google maps directions. Thats pretty much it. Stream some gogole music when running. Not that much really.
I am considering on changing my family plan to shared since none of us really use that much. I have only went over 5GB one time because the wifi at work was down and i saw a netflix movie, also strange for me to do.
I will look into it. did you also jump to the NEXT program?
