Alright, so tomorrow I'm buying the Galaxy Note 2 off contract. On the website, it sticks to just being 700 dollars.
If I go to the store to purchase it (as I'm eager to get it already) will it still just be 700? I heard that already includes taxes and stuff. Or will tax still be added onto the 700bucks?

Every verizon listing on eBay (which are very few compared to other carriers) seem to be used with slight scratches on the screen. Or the biddings don't end for days down the road. Plus if something should happen, I feel safer with Verizon vs going through a hassle with the person I bought it from.
And I live in Lincoln, Ne, not many people selling new phones on Craigslist. I didn't find one listing for it. There was barely even any for the S3.
Plus, it's only about 40bucks cheaper, while it'd be nice, I'll make due.

I bought the normal verizon ones to be honest I'm not sure what type they were I just needed something until I decide what "real" protector I want to use. So far it hasn't bothered me enough to buy anything else.

I bought one like brand new in the box. Guy used for one day and went back to iphone lol and only paid $450 for it and still carries the same warranty a brand new one would. Stupid to spend $300 more but you can waste your money if you like

450 is a VERY rare steal. I'd do that in an instant if I had the chance. I mean, if you know someone selling one for that low, point me in the right direction. But every normal listing is like 675 or pretty much retail price.

Yes $450 was pretty good. Bought DNA for $450 too but it was brand new in box with plastic on it still. And last I checked there was a couple note 2 on craigslist in my area for around $500

i didnt know anybody when i had an issues with an incredible back in day i bought used. for some reason 3g wouldnt work or data at all for that matter and as long as it had clean esn and under 1 year since activation on their network they said they will take care of it even if i didnt buy it. replaced with a new one for no charge next day delivery no issues

Well that is not Verizon policy so you got lucky... I like to have warranties and insurance on my phones and I'm happy to pay more for it.

Amazon Wireless is the way to go. No tax and free 2 day shipping. If you currently have insurance on your account, it will stay and transfer to new phone once activated. There is also no activation fee.
I have done this multiple times buying off contract. Even had to go in to VZW store to get a micro sim for my S3 and had no issues.
I'm thinking about meeting up with a person at a sprint store that claims to have an evo lte in good conditon tomorrow.
The person said the phone was his son's for about a month before he switched to tmobile.
From the few pictures I've seen on his craigslist post, it seems like the phone is in good condition.
Just wanted to know from you guys if I was getting a good deal or not.

To me $250 sounds like a decent deal--make sure you get the phone's ESN number checked with Sprint. I bet you could try and go lower on the price citing that chipped paint on the kickstand.
EDIT: I looked on Craigslist for my area and noticed one going for $200. This was in the Dallas/Forth Worth area.

It definitely is, I just bought an evo for a friend of mines on ebay about 3 weeks ago in perfect condition(clean esn) for $200 shipped, with a few accessories. I definitely would not pay more than $200.

When dealing with craigslist and phones, what you should do is ask them if you can call sprint and activate the phone right in front of them. I did that and I got my barely used evo 4g LTE for 200.

just as a heads up if you call at&t they will probably allow you to upgrade early. My upgrade was not available until May 8th and they told me I can upgrade. You will have to wait until Friday when the phone is released because they can't do preorders
Wal-Mart associate here. Good luck getting any new release phone. They are shipped my manufacturer at will and we cannot order them. Also replenishable stock on contract phones is almost non existant. I would have purchased mine from my employer early but the stock is just not there and never is. Wait a few weeks.

Because they get incentives from carriers for new contracts and renewals which they can pass on in the form of device discounts.

I wouldn't want anything Verizon. GSM is the way to go in our world. The HTC might sweeten the pot but not enough for me.

the one X is a fine bit of hardware. Mind you it's far from my first choice, but like the other poster said, do the trade if they aren't stolen, sell one or both of them and buy yourself what you want, chances are you'll walk away with cash in your pocket and a newer phone. Though if he's offering 2 phones, both of which cost way more than the note's worth on the open market there's a VERY good chance that they're stolen. You know the saying, if it's too good to be true...

Yeah probably call thwmia best bet to check imei or whatever ............and the one x I think could be a unlockable device to switch carriers whenever and pretty specs are way better then our notw...all we have is a big screen honestly lol .. but I love my note without a doubt
