[Q] just a simple question about system/app - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, my question is , if i put any.apk in the system/app folder and then i flash the rom via cwm so that apk in question will be ass an system application??? i'll not have to install it each time i flash a new rom????

It might be deleted by updater-script. Better solution is to copy your .apk to /data/app.

[Q] Deleted wrong apk

I accidentally deleted clock (not the widget) but ClockPackage.apk. Now when I try to reinstall it, it won't work, saying that app not installed . Is there something special that has to be done to get this work? Thnx in advance

If your not rooted just flash the rom you are using again and all will be stock normal again If your rooted use root explorer and get the file you deleted from a custom rom and paste it back
I would go for the first option as its easier

do you have the rom you flashed on your computer? If so navigate to system/app and copy the clockpackage.apk to your sdcard, then go to system/app in root explorer mount your system and copy and past the file back to system/app)

Forgive the noobiness as well here. I somehow managed to remove one of the clock WIDGETS that displayed time battery life and weather (the ONLY one that has the battery life bar go figure) thinking it was the accuweather widget. Now I can't get it back ... ?

Hmmm. It's not hard to flash the firmware again. Backup your apps with titanium backup. Reflash clean firmware and root it. Restore your files again. Then you should be having the My Files application.

Hashy.

Use root explorer. Copy both files in system/app. Paste there. Then search for the files and set correct permission. I just did that. And it worked fine once you reboot the device.

!REQUEST! Stock d620 lollipop videos app

Hey guys, i was wondering if one of you was willing to compile the stock lollipop videos app for me to an apk, since I accidentally deleted it myself, and i don't want to reset everything again. No other discussions, just post if you have something.
Here you go, the whole folder from d620a DEU.

Copy the whole folder to System/priv-app folder, set permissions to folders drwxr-xr-x, to all files -rw-r--r-- and to everything Owner/Group - root. Then reboot the phone.

Call recorder mod

Two way call recording
1: Install this normally https://www.solidfiles.com/v/vZGZRzpeBd7Xd
2: Restart phone
3: Go to data/app and remove "com.hwcallrecored-1"
1: Copy HwCallRecorder.apk and folder to /system/app (permissions: folder rwxr-xr-x and apk rw-r-r-) https://www.solidfiles.com/v/Akjpzea3kAmqv

Doesn't it have a recorder in the stock firmware? I can see it in my call screen without doing anything.
It's just not active in European version

Hi!
Yes you can, i use the same version.
You need to be rooted and have a system explorer app.
Hi,
3: Go to data/app and remove "com.hwcallrecored-1"
1: Copy HwCallRecorder.apk and folder to /system/app (permissions: folder rwxr-xr-x and apk rw-r-r-) https://www.solidfiles.com/v/Akjpzea3kAmqv
Where can I find /data/app? In device/data/app there is no com.hwcallrecored-1
The same for /system/app
Shall I copy the extract folder with HwCallRecorder.apk inside?
Thanks

Hi!
Did you install the apk from first link? If so you should find it in data/app.
Extract the zip and copy folder with apk inside to system/app and set permissions: folder rwxr-xr-x and apk rw-r-r-
