How to fix GSM Error Problem ....
Download the XDA-Developers ROM Version 1.1.
Install the ROM on your Device via SD-Card and bootloader.
The phone should start up and give you the screen allignment and the whole menu!
Download an Upgrade for your device. This depends ont the model you are using. Check the sticker at the back of your device.
If it is a PW10A-Model download RSU Version 4.16.
If it is a PW10B-Model download RSU Version 6.24.20.
Extract the downloaded ZIP-File and copy all files to the /Windows directory of your device.
Copy the RSUpgrade.exe additional to the /windows/startup directory.
Make an soft reset of your device.
Maybe the upgrade will stop again at 1%, this may occur when you have an empty battery.
Place your device in the cradle. Run Active Sync on your device.
The RSU Upgrade will run in the background.
Wait for about 10 Minutes. The upgrade should complete in the background....
Afterwards all should work again...

I did exactly what you said in your page !!!
I installed rom without problems, the problem is when I want to install program B, i copy files to sd card, and with the explorer in the rom i copy it to windows and .exe file to windows/startup
Next I restart XDA and setup begin, it stop with 1 % (you said in your page) that it is hapen because I have few batery power..., it´s true..
so I open active sync in PDA and in my PC, put the cable on in the two devices, but PC don´t connect ..
Can you repeat in other way, how to do ?
i have to turn on active sync in the pc and PDA ?or only in the pda ? I don´t have docking station to PDA, I only have the Sync cable, I charge my PDA over that, but now, I can´t charge it ? why ?
I have to restart PDA other time, (press ok to restart) or I only open active sync, and have to press in sync to run program B.

Hi guys,
I need your help. You'd make me amazingly happy if you could solve my problem.
I have an Orange SPV C100 (french one) and I keep trying to flash wm6.1 (the one Blackdragon_860 has released).
My problem is : I can't flash that rom. The updating process crash at 4% and I get an error saying that the ROM is corrupted.
Do you have any ideas to help me ?
Here are some additional information taken from the Hard-SPL And Soft-Spl walktrough :

I have no white screen. Instead a file named JumpSPL.txt is generated... Here is what is inside :

I've done that too. I put RUU_Signed.nbh from wm61OxygenUpdate1.rar in the same directory than ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Before the flashing process itself, ROMUpdateUtility.exe tell me I going to flash the image version from 1.7.74.1 to : 1.01
Then I have a rainbow screen which says :
ONBL : 1.07.0000
SPL : 1.07.0000
Oxygen : IU
The flashing process start, then crash and 4%... Saying that image file corrupted.
One last information :
I got the same error with other ROMS. Here the list of what I already tried :
Blackdragon_860's rom, released the 11-05-2008
Standard rom, the one that comes with Soft and Hard SPL (weight about 641Ko)
A Russian rom, taken today from zfree (here)
I didn't tried the chinese one. But as edgeofthestring has eventually the same problem than mine, I not will go for this rom.
I tried to be as complete as possible... I truely need some help.

Try first flashing this rom:

After this hard-spl and than flash any rom you like
Always use rom loader from hard-spl and before flashing rename rom to RUU_Signed.nbh
i also tried to flash the file posted by you but after 4 % the phone reboots and the setup gives me the: " invaliv vendor id " message

ok. may it works when you do it like this:
1. restart your phone
2. Copy spl.nb, spl.lnk and jumpspl.exe to the root of device
3. restart phone, don't connect to your PC!
4. open total commander, hold camera button and launch spl.lnk
5. Do you see a white screen? if yes proceed if not it has no
point proceeding, flashing will fail anyway!
6. Now connect your phone to your pc using the usb cable
7. From the flasher folder run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow
instructions to flash the Hard-SPL
8. After flashing Hard-Spl, to avoid reflashing, use always use
flasher from hard spl and rename the desired rom to flash to
RUU_signed.nbh
Hope this will finaly work for you!
i have tried it, i have the wm6.1 chinese version rom and the hard spl is not working at all in this rom, i have tried it with total commander and after the white screen appears and i connect the phone to the pc it is nor recognized by the pc...

Believe me I'm not numb. I can read and use my little brain... I think I tried everything (including throwing my device to the other side of my room). There is something that keep my device from displaying this f*****g white screen.
Just for the record, I repeat, I have a french blocked orange C100...
If someone has got in the same problem and finally sorted it out, plz share how.

Or ask your operator for the sim unlock code, they should give it when your phone is more than 1 year old.....

Was your phone "app unlocked" before begining ? I would assume it is necessary, but won't pretend I'm a guru...

Ok so here are some additional information that could be useful.
Be sure you have .net framework 2.0 or newer before starting the unlocking process (the file shared shared by vovakk) otherwise you would be stuck at the second step.
When at step 5, I'm not sure which profile is required but, for me, it worked with "No security".
Once you've done step 5, you'll get THE white screen when laucnhing SPL.Ink (I confirm). You can start flashing.
I've flashed several rom as nemphis told me to, and it worked. Here is the list in the right order, with some notes :
1. http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=6B0FDY24 (given by nemhpis) : takes about 2-3 minutes, when done, I believed that my device was dead because it took a while before the PIN screen showed. Don't panic, just wait.
2. http://rapidshare.com/files/65732449/hspl.7z.html (the original Hard-Soft SPL - created by sp3dev) : extract, don't change anything, just launch RomUpdateUtility.exe. Flashing process takes less than 1 second
3. http://rapidshare.com/files/114457795/wm61OxygenUpdate1.rar (THE Windows Mobile 6.1) : In the RomUpdateUtility.exe folder, just replace the original NUU_signed.nbh by the one inside wm61OxygenUpdate1.rar. How did it work............ i ended up lockin my phone it was unlocked before... now no application works... anymore it say this application is not have signed certificates..... PLZ ANY1 HELP I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW TO HARD BOOT THIS HANDSET..... I NEED URGENT HELP PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...

I can't upgrade with any RUU, all of them stops at 0% and reports that device needs recovery.... after recovery steps, problem still persist.
If I use "factory" RUU with any carriers rom RUU reports bad vendor ID after 1% (I think it's becouse the person who tried to flash before me doesn't made CID unlock first).
Anyone knows how to repair this problem? Device was originally TMO-HU branded.

after talking to the person, who has bricked the device, it turns out, that he forgot to hardspl the bootloader, so now the original 1.21.0000 is still in the device, and he has flashed with some pathed radio rom for supercid unlocking (without hardspl first)... is there any way to flash back some working radio rom and unbrick it? Device doesn't accept radio rom flashing , but I will try with all the available versions, maybe some of them will work...
gyuszko - you phone is locked, so the only way - flash original rom.
For example. My niki have come from Thailand, but i use it in China. Once, i have bricked it, and the only way that have helped me - flashing original Thailand rom
(It works fine on unbranded phones, but i think branded can be unbricked by same way )

Elf SD Card flashing
This page describes how to upgrade your Elf ROM using an SD Card. This is useful for:
Linux and Mac users: you don't need windows to upgrade the ROM
ELF0IMG.nbh on a FAT32 filesystem
Empty (erase the contents) of your microSD card from the Windows Mobile file explorer or format it from your computer using a card reader (in some cases format doesn't work).
Extract the .NBH file from your prefered ROM upgrade: In windows use winrar (right click) to extract the contents of the exe file. In Linux / MacOS use cabextract.
Rename the .NBH file to ELF0IMG.nbh and copy it to the root folder of your microSD card.
With microSD card inserted on the phone, start the bootloader (The bootloader is invoked by hold down the camera button and reset device with the stylus).
confirm flashing on screen by pressing the power button (or the volume slider down).
Flashing might hang after some time but this is normal. Just wait. Complete flash takes about 30 minutes, so check your battery or connect to charger before the flashing process starts.
SuperCID devices are able to flash any NBH image using this method.

A. Pre-Requisites
If your Surround is flashed with a ROM of the following releases:
1. RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.04.661.00_Radio_5.51.09.29_22.32.50.10U
2. RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.04.661.02_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U
then you can flash the following unbranded ROM and when you like you can comeback to your previous ROM
In case your Surround is flashed with a different of the above 1, 2 ROMs but your Firmware version at your phone settings>about>more information
is of the form xxxx.yy.zzzzz.661 i.e. with characteristic value 661
then you can also flash the following unbranded ROM, but you can comeback only to one of the above 1, 2 ROMs
B. Downloading
You must download the following 2 ROMs:
1. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.03.502.07_Radio_5.51.09.06_22.30.50.09U_by_ansar
2. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.03.502.07_Radio_5.51.09.06_22.30.50.09U_Signed_by_ansar

C. Flashing Process

2. Press and hold volume-down button and then press power-on/off button to enter bootloader mode
3. When your phone enters the tricolor screen bootloader mode, release volume-down button
4. Connect your phone to your windows 7/vista/xp pc/laptop with a usb cable
5. Verify that your phone will be identified and relevant drivers will be installed by windows os of your pc/laptop
6. After completion of (D.5.) above, check the usb message connection on your phone screen
7. To flash the ROM go to your pc/laptop folder where the downloaded zip ROM file is extracted
8. Double click on the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and strictly follow the instructions on your pc/laptop screen

Are you trying to use this ROM on a device from AT&T? Because that's the reason for my Surround; I cannot flash the TELUS ROMs on it.

i update my phone to the NODO and i can't unlock whit Chevron no more
the programme give my the Classic error message (Sorry,I'm having trouble communicating whit the phone. -please sure it's conected using USB - Please start the Zune application)
So i flash my rom whit the RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.04.661.00_Radio_5.51.09.29_22.32.50.10U (because i have a telus phone) and it work fine.
Now i try to use the Chevron software again to unlock the phone and guess what .Got the same error message After flashing my Surround.
Need to know why i still got that message.Could it be because Zune have some kind of programe that block Chevron software to realise the process .
Can some explain what that error message mean exactly went i try to unlock My phone.
i do all the step i wen to a lot of space(WWW) to see if a forgot to do a step
Please advise on this

My surround was having the Telus logo on startup after flashing it became AT&T, I thought it would be unbranded? (no operator logo on startup) does this mean that the device will be under AT&T's update discretion? Because when my Surround was under Telus, it had the update 7392, now it just on Nodo and wont have the security update after nodo.

Hi XDA-Devs, i have here a german T-Mobile HTC Mozart and want to flash it with an newer Rom. I can connect the Phone with Zune on my Win7 PC, but the Windows Mobile Device Center can not find my Mozart.
I have download this Rom > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359397 and extract it with 7zip to my desk.
Than ill tryed to boot the phone with Powerbutton+VolumeDown to the Bootloader Mode "Serial" than i connect the Phone via USB-Cable to PC, "Serial" switched to "USB". In the first Steps, the RomUpdateUtility don not display me information about the current image, in the next step i can click "Update", on the next page i also can not see information about the current version. After this i started the RomUpdateUtility, i see a ProcessBar on PC and Phone, but all the time on 0% of process , after a few minutes i become the following error: "Error 262 The Update Utility has encountered communication errors during the update process"

This is Usually things to do for Flash Custom Rom. For make your phone "flashable" with custom roms(no official roms) you need to install RSPL/HSPL.
1. If you have MANGO with SPL 4.xx or 5.xx in your device, flash a NODO Rom first to downgrade SPL otherwise you´ll brick it.
2. You must have RSPL/HSPL installed in your device , download RSPL/HSPL see this thread HERE.
3. Before doing any operations be sure you have battery level more than 50%!
4. Now flash Custom Rom you download and extract before.
Warranty Issues
Be warned, using RSPL may void your warranty.
If you need to send your device to a Repair Centre, make sure that it looks like stock! Install stock official ROM before go to Repair Centre.
