In the following A, B, C and D sections is described the flashing process
of the unbranded ROM: RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.03.502.07_Radio_5.51.09.06_22.30.50.09U
A. Pre-Requisites
If your Surround is flashed with a ROM of the following releases:
1. RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.04.661.00_Radio_5.51.09.29_22.32.50.10U
2. RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.04.661.02_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U
then you can flash the following unbranded ROM and when you like you can comeback to your previous ROM
In case your Surround is flashed with a different of the above 1, 2 ROMs but your Firmware version at your phone settings>about>more information
is of the form xxxx.yy.zzzzz.661 i.e. with characteristic value 661
then you can also flash the following unbranded ROM, but you can comeback only to one of the above 1, 2 ROMs
B. Downloading
You must download the following 2 ROMs:
1. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.03.502.07_Radio_5.51.09.06_22.30.50.09U_by_ansar
2. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.03.502.07_Radio_5.51.09.06_22.30.50.09U_Signed_by_ansar
Extract the downloaded zip ROM files with an unzip / 7zip utility in separate folders of your choice
C. Flashing Process
In order to successfully flash the provided ROMs you must follow these steps:
1. Flash the ROM of the above (B.1.) extracted zip ROM file
2. After flashing Surround will automatically enter again in bootloader mode
3. In the screen of your computer the ROMUpdateUtility will report an ERROR
4. Ignore it and exit from ROMUpdateUtility
5. Now flash the ROM of the above (B.2.) extracted zip ROM file
6. After flashing your Surround will boot normally
7. Exit from ROMUpdateUtility and proceed with your brand new ROM
If you do not want them you can delete all operator apps, in order to have more free RAM
Beware, in WP7 deleting an application means it is deleted from ROM
D. ROM Flashing Instructions
In order to flash a ROM follow these steps:
1. Press and hold power-on/off button to power-off the phone
2. Press and hold volume-down button and then press power-on/off button to enter bootloader mode
3. When your phone enters the tricolor screen bootloader mode, release volume-down button
4. Connect your phone to your windows 7/vista/xp pc/laptop with a usb cable
5. Verify that your phone will be identified and relevant drivers will be installed by windows os of your pc/laptop
6. After completion of (D.5.) above, check the usb message connection on your phone screen
7. To flash the ROM go to your pc/laptop folder where the downloaded zip ROM file is extracted
8. Double click on the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and strictly follow the instructions on your pc/laptop screen

It is not a NoDo ROM and TELUS start up splash screen not included
Note that has CV 502 i.e. unbrands to Cingular_US

Are you trying to use this ROM on a device from AT&T? Because that's the reason for my Surround; I cannot flash the TELUS ROMs on it.

i update my phone to the NODO and i can't unlock whit Chevron no more
the programme give my the Classic error message (Sorry,I'm having trouble communicating whit the phone. -please sure it's conected using USB - Please start the Zune application)
So i flash my rom whit the RUU_Surround_TELUS_WWE_1.04.661.00_Radio_5.51.09.29_22.32.50.10U (because i have a telus phone) and it work fine.
Now i try to use the Chevron software again to unlock the phone and guess what .Got the same error message After flashing my Surround.
Need to know why i still got that message.Could it be because Zune have some kind of programe that block Chevron software to realise the process .
Can some explain what that error message mean exactly went i try to unlock My phone.
i do all the step i wen to a lot of space(WWW) to see if a forgot to do a step
Please advise on this

My surround was having the Telus logo on startup after flashing it became AT&T, I thought it would be unbranded? (no operator logo on startup) does this mean that the device will be under AT&T's update discretion? Because when my Surround was under Telus, it had the update 7392, now it just on Nodo and wont have the security update after nodo.

I picked up a surround from Telus on the first day of release, unlocked it and am now using it on Rogers.. One of the most notable features that's missing from these first gen surrounds is the lack of the "FIND" speech command... It's in the documentation, but it's not enabled in the original stock rom.
The TELUS rom you provided here enabled that, among a few other minor fixes.
Now the big question is; When NoDo is released, will it include firmware and radio updates?? Or will it be OS updates only?
ansar this software is not working in my hc surround, i got with the demo mode and flashed this rom but nothing changes, after a few minutes it goes back to demo mode.
i had a hd7 and it was on demo mode i flashed one of your roms and is fine now, why is not working in my surround?

Hi,
Demo mode may also introduce CID problems and not only.
Which one did you flash, Cingular or TELUS?

I flashed both cingular with the same result, it takes 5 seconds to get to 98% and 5 seconds from 98% to 100%. and the the unit reboots like new after a few swconds in the home screen all demo mode comes back.

Hi,
If flashing is as you describe, this is the case that there is no actual flash taking place.
It is like a hard reset and that's why demo mode recovers.
You must disable demo mode with a registry change or otherway, and enter run mode.
Can you side load *.provxml or xap files, after chevron unlock?

You dont need to. I successfully flashed a demo-mode surround successfully.
Just do a hard reset
1. hold vol-up/vol-down, power on while holding
2. release, follow hard reset instructions
3. pull the battery before it reboots
4. boot it in boot-loader mode and flash successfully!
also, question for ansar... if i flash an unbranded rom to my htc surround, will it still be sim-locked?

Thank you very much for the support ... can you tell me what language they bring? now that I have the original AT & T and is only in English. I need Spanish ... gives a rom that you posted on the forum is set to that language later?
Another important thing, to change flash 3G bands? that I do not want to fail then the 3G (I use the 850 band, who have phones from AT & T)

Hello guys. I need to ask some detailed information about latest leaked Mango update. I'm very unexperienced Windows Phone user.
I just bought a unbranded (without operator programs-logos) HTC Mozart. I want to flash my Mozart with latest leaked Mango ROM. My phone has a windows version of 7392 NoDo. I just downloaded the RUU exe file. What are the steps of installation? Please tell step by step. Can i jump into bootloader mode or just "connect phone to pc,run zune and run ruu exe?"

I searched all windows phone threads but didn't find any guide. What are the steps of installation of Official Mango Update? Please help!
1) make sure you've downloaded the right RUU rom for your phone, or have your phone security unlock
2) power off, press power & vol- buttons to boot, you'll see "security unlocked" at the top if it's unlocked
3) connect your phone to your PC, "serial" on the screen will turn to "USB"(if not, you have to install the windows mobile device center manually)
4) run the RUU on your PC, then the mango goes from here~ enjoy
WARN: MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE DID NOT INSTALL ANY RSPL/HSPL(check it on the same screen, right info is SPL xxxx)

Here is my attempt at a tutorial
Step 1: take anything important off your phone (Pictures Videos Music Etc) Because installing all this stuff will erase your phone completely
Step 2: Go and read the first post in this thread

Once you have read it, READ IT AGAIN!, because if you flash that to your phone and its not compatible you will BRICK YOUR PHONE.
Once you are sure that your phone is compatible with the RSPL/HSPL download it and use the included tools to flash it to your phone. You will need to put your phone in bootloader mode to install that. To do this you will turn the phone off completely then press power + the volume down button to get to your boot loader screen it will be red green blue and white.
Connect your phone start the RSPL app and follow the steps to the letter, once this is down download the rom posted in this thread.
Step 3: Flash the rom posted in this thread by using the same steps. Power off the phone, then press power + volume down button when you see the bootloader start the flashing process. You will get a progress bar let it go through until the phone reboots.
Step 4: Enjoy a truly amazing rom on your Surrond, thank you so much DFT.
HTC update?
Got this "update" last night, does anybody know what it does???
Don't update. Your phone will become a brick if you update.
I tested. There are a few minor bugs eg: Errors column waves 3G,misspelled in the About

I have mango. therefore i understand i cannot change the rom am i right?
on the 3 colour screen i get the following:
PD26100 SS-BC (4K)
SPL-4.3.2250.0(128976) MNG
MicroP(LED) 0x09
TOUCH C1(v69)
Am I stuck on Mango?

this is correct do not use the rspl/hspl if the numbers for the versions do not match
I had originally installed mango using the disconnect trick what I needed to do to install this was use the stock rom for my phone/provider to downgrade first for me it was Telus my provider, I found the rom here to put me back to pre-nodo like the phone was fresh out of the box.
THEN I was able to do the rspl/hspl then the DFT rom.
Also check under your battery for the model ID and verify its compatible with those posted in the RSPL/HSPL thread the model ID on my phone is PD26110 I can confirm with a pre-nodo rom and that model ID the rspl/hspl and the dft rom work perfectly

Installation Instructions:
Follow the instructions below to download and install the update on your phone:
From your phone device:
(a). With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and VOLUME UP buttons, and then briefly press the POWER button.
(b). Release the VOLUME DOWN and VOLUME UP button after you see the white screen with "security" on left-upper corner.
Use the USB cable to connect your phone with computer, You will see "USB" shown on screen of the phone.

I think its only new bootloader. Flashing files and cca 800kB nbh file...

it's just the boot loader. That's all. Should not take more then a min to update.
What are the benefits of updating to this bootloader?

Probably only the resolution for the errors identified in Zune.
I never had these errors when I made the Titan updates, possibly some correction thinking in Tango future update?

I think this is only for the Titan's that have problems updating due to bootloader issues. I think there was a bad batch released which couldn't update through Zune because it fails between Step 6 - 8.
And there isn't any real benefit with updating the bootloaders. The more farther we go from v1.10, the less likely that we will have a full unlock or even interop for that matter!

No combination of words can accurately describe my happiness of getting this update. After months of being stuck in 7740, my Hong Kong Titan can finally get updated to 8107 and install that HTC Firmware update just like everyone else's unbranded Titans!

Ok, Im confused!!!
I have a HTC Mozart, with simlock to Orange UK
From the debranding/flashing guide found : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002391 - I thought i followed it to the letter....
Download a ROM which is by the same network as you're on (for example if you're phone is currently locked to Orange UK then download RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.22.061.10_Radio_5.50.09.18_ 22.24.50.09U, by ansar. - do not download 1.30!). Done
Open up ActiveSync/Mobile Device Center
Flash this ROM to your phone (you may not need to do this step, but most users will).
Turn your phone off.
Put your phone into Bootloader Mode - this can be done by pressing and holding the Volume Down Key & Power Button.
Plug your phone into your PC, hopefully a HTC USB driver will install.
Once the driver is installed your phone should display USB mode.
Extract the zip file and then run the exe file
Run through the update process
When your ROM is flashed, your phone will want you to customise it - just do the basic stuff.
Done all this - brilliant - I now have:
OS 7.0.7004.0
FW Rev No 2250.09.12210.061
HW Rev No 0004
Radio SW Vers 5.50.09.18_22.24.50.09u
Radio HW Vers A.102.0.D4
Bootloader 1.22.2250.10 (110809) 40
Download the ROM you would like to flash (e.g. RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33 b.50_RELEASE).
Extract the unbranded ROM zip file and then extract the exe file (WinZip will not do this - try 7zip or similar).
Copy the RUU_signed.nbh from the unbranded ROM
Extract the branded ROM exe
Paste the RUU_signed.nbh from the unbranded ROM to branded ROM
Plug your phone back into the PC in bootloader mode
Run RomUpdateUtility.exe file from the branded ROM (but with the unbranded RUU_signed.nbh file)
Follow the steps...
Et voila, you'll have (if all goes well) and unbranded ROM installed
Last step, plug your phone back into your PC and run Zune. Your phone should receive the latest cumulative update.
No matter what I do, this bit will not work!! I follow it to the letter! it either gets stuck at 0% then fails OR vendor ID wrong!! Plllllleeeease tell me what Im doing wrong...! and what I need to do to get this thing running A ok again!!! At this minute, Ive connected this to Zune and the Feb 11 update will not install - keeps telling me to unplug and reconnect..... I think after 3 hours of trying - I think its as good as its gonna get! lol
I was trying to get the internet tethering thing done as Id seen the euro update seems for some users at least to be working..... (dont shoot!) lol

Hi piggyman1978, u got vendor ID wrong because u cannot flash custom rom without HSPL try search from forum ... cheerz
