How did you get this ?

Thanks Tigrouzen , this is the technical document about S8500 modem, this datasheet is necessary to the modem drivers development, Be careful of this, all xda-forum could be affected.
I found this too: http://datasheet.eeworld.com.cn/pdf/182664_QUALCOMM_QSC6270.html
Pay attention to the last page of this datasheet.
Many thanks

Thanks, interesting thing.

Complete documentations + all Tools + Source Code from Samsung S8500...
Best Regards

That would help, definietly

We need petition

To turn bada an opensource project?
I will sign it if it will exist..

Maybe think twice... :cyclops:
If Qualcomm is BIG part of S8500... Hard + Software...
How many Open Source Projects you know from Qualcomm...
After you have think again... Qualcomm stuff is in many handsets...
So they can't give you all nmandatory internal confidental stuff...
Otherwise hundrets of handsets with Qualcomm Chipset affected... from MANY manufacturers...
And btw... Qualcomm + AMSS is very very old... long tradition... "minor" changes...
So if you have full description for 1 Qualcomm Chip... you can attack also other Chips with Qualcomm...
So this is BIG BIG BIG impossible dream.
Not expect any gifts from Samsung nor from Qualcomm...
Best Regards

+1
There's no chance to opensource the phone part. If you search, you will find that the modem/ril is closed even on the SGS for example...

Only Reverse Engineering... Reverse Engineering again Reverse Engineering... brain... much brain... time, many time, luck... many luck.
If we have no luck... also 2012 NO Modem function...
But this is NO shame. Because this is HARDEST task...
Best Regards

The problem is that on AMSS side there's very big part of code written by Samsung. Qualcomm probably even has no access to it. We have to rebuild the opposite side, working on Bada side. The secret isn't in Qualcomm documents/codes but in Samsung ones.

Maybe OLDER bada Version more output...
For WinComm for sure... older Firmware deliver more infos... less Security...
Maybe XXJB6 most "AMSS output"...

Only if with had Wave's source code in the first place, we'd have had a fully working Android port on 2010's Christmas...

i tkink we should try to open i9000 modem files like we did on our bada .so files and the modify those modem files to adapt it for s8500..
just a thought.

Unfortunately, like atom, 6828 doesn't have outside connector for JTAG,you have open the case first.
The all four point are inside near the camera.
Opening the case is not difficult, I think all already mention on WIKI,
you just need T5, #0 phillips and mini (+) screw driver
Cheers,
Benz

It is not recommended to run without resistor.
This resistor is important to limit voltage and current between PC and your PDA.
Since the voltage is bit different between parallel port (~2.4V) and your PDA (~3.7V), this potentially make your PC parallel port or even your PC motherboard spoil. So better play safe my friend, an fact these resistors is very cheap

Benz

Can the Tytn II drivers be ported onto the Niki?

Hey, I was wondering if the Tytn II drivers, which will be released in a few days, can be ported to our Nikis?
Also HTCClassAction (in http://www.htcclassaction.org/#update_20080509_1) states that the drivers will be released in a completely new wm6.1 (official) package.
If the drivers of other devices with the msm7*00 chip will be released is uncertain.
Driver Porting ... it possible! I its released, some rom cooker will very fast released a working version!
Yes, I'm very positive it can be done.
The only thing I'm worried about if the TyTN II "drivers" will indeed be drivers.. or IF it will really be provided.
this is sounding quite exciting. i wish that i had the knowledge and the brain to be able to help out with the driver porting. were there actually updated drivers released with the kasier rom or was it just tweaks to the software?
The drivers are "expected" to arrive in the following weeks. The "drivers" does not exist yet.
Keeping my fingers crossed. Love you guys
not only driver from kaiser. From other device possible for port also
Now I don't know much about this. But doesn't the Tytn II have the Qualcomm7200 400mhz processor too? Surely you can port it if the processors are the same? Please say yes?

Bad news already =( Keep us updated.
Well here's the good news.
And the leaked new TyTN II ROM.
And here a link to the thread with the Dutch Rom they are talking about which seems to have some sort of hardware acceleration:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393716&highlight=HTC_NLD_3.29.404.
New touch.dll fixing touchscreen problem...
New Kaiser ROM with improved (but not yet perfect if I've well understood htcclassaction...) graphic drivers...
The Niki is becoming a really interesting device... Just waiting for good hackers to port the drivers on it (I'm not good enough to do it myself ).
Is there anythere a list of the files that need to be ported to replace old drivers ?
In fact if we only need to replaces files and registry values, then G'reloc them I may try... (I don't think my Niki would be bricked since drivers are only part of the OS, and I might be able to reflash it entering the bootloader...)
AH MAN This is what we were waiting for! *Building party*

Yeah I just tried the ddi.dll with disptools.dll too. Didn't boot. So, we have to wait for HTC to never release their driver for us?
That is probably the saddest most dreadful news I've heard this week.
So how about the Diamond's on this ROM?
And to be specific, the holy grail (?!) of our hopes, THIS one.

[DEV] S8530 open

QBA GSM.GPRS.EDGE :"RFMD" RF3225 -1103 - F14BMTB

Memory : "Sandisk" SDIN5D2-2G http://omapworld.com/iNAND_e_MMC_4_41_IF_data_sheet_v1_0[1].pdf
PMIC : "MAXIM" MAX8987 EWQ 1041
Update in second...
I hope now Android well porting to easly on Wave II
Atmel chipset under LCD is touch panel controller, I think it's the same as in S8500.
LCD is usually Hydis, some codename: nt35510 (dunno if its Hydis or Samsung marking)
WM8994 is the same thing as in S8500, I9000 and many more.
MAX8997 is also the same as above.
Camera CPU MC-10170 too.
Broadcomm wifi chipset also.
MoviNAND flash is different, but works exactly the same way.
Aint sure about Wifi/BT broadcomm chipset, but on my S8530 I haven't seen any driver errors and it seems to be the same as in S8500 also.
The only thing on our way to port it succesfully was lack of LCD drivers (only guessed display, now I'm sure about it), lack of skills to port these drivers. Now the barrier is that I have no development device. If anyone can find and donate/sell cheap S8530 mainboard to me, would be nice.
PMIC different
Broadcomm too
Im sure ist verry different pcb in Broadcomm
Quad Band Amplifier Triquint on S8500 and RFMD on S8530

PMIC is the same.
As I said I'm not sure about the 2 you posted.
anyway chipsets from GSM/UMTS RF block aren't important for porting, these are handled by Modem AMSS.
One of my S8530 macro photos:
http://tinypic.com/r/v6t9xy/7
//edit:
Or, maybe PMIC really differs, it's 8987 on my picture, or Im wrong...?

Hello.
I have Festival installed, but if I try to get it to say anything, I get the following error.
FreeBSD: cant open /dev/dsp
Ive searched this, and have found that some process is probably hogging the device. So, run fstat grep dsp, but nothing shows.
Any clue as to what I can do here?

Is rooting this much easy?

I came across this thread which hints at rooting in a very simple and in few seconds...My question is that if it is this much easy then why it has been made so complicated in other ways??? Is it really working??? Is there any drawbacks in this type of rooting??? should I go for this way of rooting???

First of all thanks a lot for the reply..Sorry for the mistake I made to post it here..I was thinking that it is Q & A forum because I opened several tabs at a time.
The reason I made a separate thread was that I wanted other people also to comment not just those people who replied to that thread...Because I didn't see any expert member to comment on that thread.
Sorry if I am wrong...I am noob to android phone...Before I was using windows phone.
Rooting or flashing is easy as long as you can read, interpret and understand. If you can't, well that is where the "complications" come in.

BTW the only reason for me to root was to get rid of Samsung blotware.
If you are new to this (I'am) don't delete apps ... freeze using Titanium Pro and PLS read this list before you freeze anything:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?hl=en_US&hl=en_US&key=0Ag43oj7rLQP4dENZcmhGN0ZUa3pHSENVeXlqUm5vV0E&single=true&gid=0&output=html
I don't know if this method is really an exploit or just a consequence of the Android platform being a development platform open to anyone with a PC and an USB cable to install things...
But the problem with real exploits is that they can be fixed on future versions and be device/manufacturer specific. While installing modified kernels is a feature available for most devices at the cost of the warranty (sometimes).

I'll test the usability of Magisk and EdXposed in a few days. (and maybe TWRP)
Today I just come to share the joy, but unfortunately I will not open the unlock method until this person leaves the admin and apologizes to me.
In the afternoon, I produce a video of the results and share this joy in a Mi Watch group of Telegram that I joined from XDA, but one of the admin named Aytac (Telegram ID: 1007077001) stigmatized me for cheating and muted me forever, which infuriated me.
Since he says he has the ability to do it, let him tell the community how to unlock BootLoader.
I said you'll pay for it. Now it's time for me to keep my promise.

Unfortunately, I broke the hardware when I was dismantling it, and now it's on its way back for repair.
I have written the tree for twrp of the device, and I will test it after the device returns.

Ha ha, I don't need your useless apologies for being late anymore. Anyway, the loss is yours. I will only share the resources that can be used after unlocking. By the way, tell him, take his dev device and play it himself. Good luck.
It's his choice to mute me few days ago, even ban me today. It's my choice to refuse to release the unlocking method.
Sorry I can't understand.
What exactly is the link between XDA and this Aytac?
If you have discovered something and want to share it with the community (which would be grateful for it) this is probably the right place but if your goal is just some sort of revenge this post becomes useless and its title is definitely misleading.
