IBM Think app on the Pad...? - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

Google Market says "not compatible with your device"...does someone knowledgeable know why? It successfully downloaded to my Archos G9/80 and so I copied those files over to the Pad and everything runs of course fine there, including the movie...BUT I don't like that So - does someone know a way to perhaps change some lines in build.prop (my Pad is rooted) in order to get the Market's GO ?
Thx.

Try booting it in "High Resolution" mode and see if it'll install from the Market?

...sad...tried that today, still no go. Any other thoughts? Perhaps ... being in Germany?

Maybe.
Try going into high resolution mode, and then clearing Google Play data, rebooting again.

Welcome!
Explanation: The Play Store uses your DPI as part of its "compatibility" calculation. The DPI it reads depends on which resolution mode the tab is set to, and sometimes you have to clear memory for it to notice.

No, resolution doesn't matter
All the build.prop change does is trick the market and apps into thinking your phone is a nexus s
The app will automatically adjust based on resolution, on its own.
Correct me if I'm wrong

I'm just posting here so I can easily find this thread when I get home. I wish gameloft weren't such dicks with their app compatibility.

I found that version 1.4.8.9 of es file explorer allows root on xron while the latest market release does not.

I got mine here: freewarelovers.com/android/app/es-file-explorer
The regular market version will give you root too. But I had to remove the built-in one completely with Titanium Backup first before installing the market one.
(I also installed Busybox separately using Busybox Installer but I don't think that factors here).
Can someone post in text what we're supposed to change the build.prop info to? Maybe some people need a 7:17 long video with full directions, but those of us that have been modding android devices for awhile know how to do edit a build.prop. I just want to know what device he's spoofing to get it to work.

"Your device is not compatible"

I was just wondering why some games on the market say "your device isn't compatible" when I try to download them. I'm sure there is a good reason for this, but could someone enlighten me?

I'm guessing the developer just hasn't added it to the list of compatible devices. Might try emailing the developer.
If you mess with your DPI settings you will get that error also. If you are stock then the developer of the game has not updated it yet.

The dpi settings is what lets you change how the screen looks for example tablet mode. You would of had to change your build prop to make that change.

DPI = dots per Inch
It's a measure of display resolution. A higher number is typically associated with higher image quality but dpi isn't the only factor involved with image quality. There are also other factors involved such as display size, display technology, the original resolution the image content was created with, the original aspect ratio the image content was created with and how those original factors are translated if required to the final viewing display situation.

Hey Brudda, so I'm on Beans build 7 and right when I flash his rom I go straight to turning this bad boy into my tiny tablet. I love the little tablet look but like you said some apps in the market will show up not compatible for your device. I want to keep the tablet look and feel, is there a way around this so the app will be compatible?

Try downloading your apps from play store before changing your dpi. Once you get your apps on your device I dont think the dpi change will break them.

...does it still work?
For some reason I am unable to install the app on my One. I have checked the settings to allow apps from other sources and it gets as far as where I can select to Install or Cancel the installation. Once I am on this screen it doesn't allow me to go any further, no matter how many times I touch the install button it doesn't change color like it is being selected. I can only click the cancel button from this screen. Am I missing something here? I know the One is not on the list of supported devices (yet?) however I figured it would work since Mobile is supposed to support the One family of devices.

Plex not working on g pad

Hi everyone,
I am having issues with running Plex on my lg g pad 8.3.
The tablet finds my server, but when I try to play a video in plex the screen remains black. The video won't start. This is the case for every video in plex.
Tried several versions. My server is okay because a s3 and tab 8.0 can play the videos.
Can someone help me out here? G pad is on stock rom.
Odd. I run place all the time on my gpad. Try wiping the cache and data for plex on the gpad.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this was not a solution.
Are you running stock rom as well?
Check the settings to see how you have it configured. I too am running Plex without issue. Also what version of plex are you running?

Did not changed a thing in settings. Compared setting with the ones on the galaxy s3 and they are exactly the same.
I will try a factory reset on my tablet and test again.

Hmm, wouldn't expect root to make a difference. However I do recommend it but for other purposes. In any case it appears I am running a much newer version - 3.2.4.87. Additionally check the following options to make sure they are on: Direct Stream and Direct Play. Also check the video quality that you have set. I have mine to 3 Mbps 720p.
