This is an un-official ROM, and not directly supported by the CyanogenMod team.
Background Information:
While working on Devil Toast, it occurred to me that I enjoyed having "names" for the different ROMs, instead of just calling them "CM9", "CM10", etc... But then, what was I going to call Jelly Bean? And while I greatly appreciate all the help ToastCFH has given me in the Android community, it didn't make sense to continue naming my ROMs after him. Then it struck me, "Disarmed Toaster". The name originally came from Microsoft (I'm sure they're thrilled to have named an Android ROM) and their absolutely insane "Random Naming" scheme in the XBOX 360. My wife couldn't think up a nickname (if any of you can't guess what my nick is, you have a *serious* issue with pattern recognition) so the XBOX 360 suggested some for her. The one that caught her attention was "Disarmed Toaster". What exactly is an armed toaster? Do we need to start warning people of the dangers of armed toasters? Are they rising up against us? So after some mild chuckles, she selected it as her name. No, she doesn't play online. No, neither of us have a Gold account. We play "Ticket To Ride" on it, that's about it. So when I got Jelly Bean to boot for the first time and actually function, the first change I made was to name it "Disarmed Toaster", after the woman who really is the most important person in my life. When it became evident that I took Devil Toast as far as it was going to go without some serious code writing (for this unfamiliar, this is the act of writing source code. I don't do any smali hacking or binary swapping from other developers to make these ROMs), I decided it was time to cut over to Jelly Bean. So here it is, a pre-Alpha Jelly Bean ROM, named "Disarmed Toaster"
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now likely void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* spontaneous combustion, your wife/girlfriend wanting
* to have my babies, or any other host of cosmic penalties
* which may befall you, your family, or your phone.
*
*/
What works:
Phone
Wifi
Camera
USB Mass Storage
Bluetooth
GPS
Car Dock
Google Now
Mutli-touch
What doesn't work:
Anryl Kernel is missing (you can select it, but the actual boot image is missing from the package)
PDroid app is missing (you can download it from XDA). Framework is still properly installed.
Vanilla Kernel may or may not actually boot. It didn't boot for me, but mileage may vary?
Vanilla Kernel missing multi-touch patch
Random data drops
3D
HDMI output

Kernel Flashing:
This ROM uses extra information contained in the boot.img file which standard mkbootimg doesn't understand and discards. To change the kernel, please download the unpackbootimg and mkbookimg tools located on goo.im next to the ROM itself. These are linux-only tools for the moment, but should unblock people from creating boot.img files which are compatible with Disarmed Toaster.
Special Thanks:
First, and most importantly, my wife Courtney, who this build is named after
CoolExe and MikeC84 for offering me the ability to prepackage their kernels in the installer
ToastCFH, who helped me learn both Linux and Android, as well as contributed largely to all HTC product development in CM
Anryl, who has helped me along in the GSM community
Binux-Project, for the amazing 3D Boot Animation
TeamWin, cause I still love those guys
DigitalHigh, who got me back into this stuff
And HTC, makers of a great phone that failed only because of marketing and software...

Agrabren's Test Matrix
This section details each "working" feature, and the last build that I personally verified the feature was working, and against what device I tested it. This does not mean that the feature does/doesn't work in any particular build. It's just what I've tested, and it helps remind me what to test before releasing a build.

My unofficial mirror is up here: http://176.31.242.197/agraben/
(yes I know I misspelled agrabren)
You should get up to 10mbit from there.
I'll try keep it up to date, no promises. It may go down at any time. It should be updated within 24 hours.
I will not provide any support from things downloaded from my mirror, or any help with the rom. This is just a mirror for people who don't want to use goo.im (or want a quick dl). I am not responsible for anything you download from my mirror.
Did my mirror help you? Press the thanks button next to agrabren, he is the person you should be thanking for this awesome rom

Huzzah! You finally made your own thread XD I look forward to using this once it's more stable

[BUILD] [DISCONTINUED] [darkstone HD2Froyo V3] [kernel: darkstone]

Hi everyone, I'd like to let everyone know that I will no longer be updating my builds.
This is mainly due to the lack of time and that I have a lot of work for university to do.
I'd like to thank everyone who donated to me, I have sent an email to each and every one of you
I'd like to thank everyone who supported me throughout the last few months and I'd like to thank everyone at #htc-linux & #htc-linux-chat for their help and for being awsome!
Once again, many thanks!
Welcome to HD2Froyo!
I've finally got down to updating this build, let's get down to business...

HTC Desire NON-SENSE build (HD2Froyo V3) (Based on DeFrost by richardtrip, source: http://github.com/richardtrip/) for HTC HD2 by darkstone on 26/10/2010:
My goal is to make a build that is close to stock as possible, but also has everything working. I'm getting there
Everything should be working, should be fast. Very fast.
Changelog for V3:
Updated lib_htcril_wrapper & htcleo.acdb
Some performance tweaks
Dropped Passion base and changed to AOSP+Cyanogenmod build base
Theme-less
Uses PPP (sorry rmnet folk, rmnet doesn't appear to be functioning correctly in the EVO kernel)
If you have issues with data/PPP, look here for support: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794309
Updated kernel to latest EVO commit on 25/10/2010 from here: http://www.gitorious.com/linux-on-w...mmit/dbd408efab87c018ab9c2e35fee672a97446852c
Kernel compiled by darkstone, no changes made to source, use the source above ^
Notes:
Make sure to reboot after first boot, apps needing root access won't work. Phone calls will have no audio. Make sure you reboot!
This build can not be used to upgrade previous versions of HD2Froyo, you must start fresh. Use titanium backup to backup your current settings.
Creates a 1GB data.img if there is no data.img present. I have included a clean 1GB data.img for a quick first boot.
Don't worry about FB console not showing, that's normal
// Copy the Android and the media folder to the root of your SD card, run CLRCAD.EXE and haret.exe on your HD2 //
Kernel Tree: http://www.gitorious.com/linux-on-wince-htc/linux_on_wince_htc
If you want to update the kernel, I would recommend kernel builds by hastarin which has tweaks. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787588
Just want to point out that the HTC Desire is closest in terms of hardware to our HD2, that's why I prefer cooking a Desire build and that's why I will always choose Desire based builds over EVO and Desire HD builds.
Thanks to everyone at #htc-linux and #htc-linux-chat !

I have been testing it out for a while. The only thing I am having a problem is that incoming calls are distorted on the hd2's end but not on the other persons end. I followed the instruction and tried it a couple times. Any idea's?? Thanks

USB data is working, I haven't tested Bluetooth Audio
This build is awesome. Far superior to the Desire build or the other Froyo builds. Stable and very snappy. Great work! Once we get GPS this can be my full-time os.
Sent from Android on my HD2 via the XDA app
Nice
Super snappy built compared to the v5, this is running from a class 2 card.
I did have a sort of freeze after taking a picture and then going to view it and delete it. it froze for like 30 seconds was about to reset when I got the android boot screen and it came right back.
update and also just got the sleep of death
Great work Darkstone!
Only problem is that i get in to turbo mode all the time..
And it keeps on telling me that system has stopped working.
And also button lights never goes in to sleep.
I'll try formatting my sd card and move over everything again.
Edit:
Formatted my Sd card and moved all files over again.
No more turbo mode and msg about system crash.
Will try out and give a conclusion.
Cheers!
I just realized that both dan and darkstone latest release are using cotulla 23 july instead of 25th one..
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
You are god! lol i love this build. its the best one yet. smooth and snappy, better then your desire rom. Big up's man keep up the FANTASTIC WORK!
The newest zimage crashes some ppl so he didn't use that one.

Anyway.. is there any mirror for this built? Since i couldnt download from torrent..

Cherry pick list
* CyanogenMod's latest merges: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:merged+branch:cm-11.0,n,z
* CyanogenMod's Github: http://github.com/cyanogenmod
This is a kang of CM11 with cherry picks from CyanogenMod’s Gerrit Instance, compiled by a group of volunteers that enjoy learning about and building CyanogenMod and Android in general. All credit goes to cyanogen, #teamdouche and the coders who submit to Gerrit. Thank you to @RyanMacG for providing Euroskank hosting.
These builds are bleeding-edge, most comparable to a nightly build, and are not meant for inexperienced users. Things will be broken and crash from time to time, you need to accept that this isn't stable by any means before flashing. Nandroid as often as possible.
How to post useful, informative bug reports:
Sometimes dev's actually check out our threads, or sometimes we have a good relationship with a dev or two. These bleeding-edge builds will have issues, and having good information on what's broken is great feedback before a feature is merged. Here are some good bug reporting tips:
* No bug reports while using custom kernels or add-ons:
CyangenMod's own bug reporting tool does not accept bug reports from people using non-stock kernels for a reason, so why should we? CM can merge changes to their kernel causing custom kernels to break things until they catch up. Therefore, please do not post any bug reports while using a custom kernel or add-on such as Xposed Framework. Post your issues with custom kernels in their own respective threads as they are the ones who need to play catch up. Any bug report posted in this thread should be while running CM's stock framework and kernel, as this prevents unnecessary clutter.
* Gapps are not a CM issue:
CyanogenMod is built to run without the assistance of Google's proprietary apps (gapps). Having issues with your Google account and syncing is a gapps issue, not a CM issue. Please do not post about any gapps related issues, just wipe data and try a different gapps package.
* Posting about the same bug every build:
Beating a dead horse with "bug X still isn't fixed" posts just adds unnecessary clutter and provides no help into actually fixing the issue. Some bugs take days to squash, some take weeks. Please don't report the same bug every time a build is uploaded.
* Logs:
Provide logcats when applicable. Use a service like Pastebin and put a link to the log in the post. Please do not post logs directly to the forum.
If these requests are too demanding, there's good news! CyanogenMod is open source, so please feel free to download the source code, compile your own builds volunteering your time and resources, then start a thread and run it however you see fit. All we simply ask is that people post good, reliable information that can be passed on to a developer that can actually do something with it, making CM a better product for everyone involved.

What is Evervolv?
Evervolv is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) rom. We're fully open sourced and encourage it with no restrictions. The work put into this rom is community driven and and Evervolv Project is made up of numerous members and contributors.
Right now the current source we are working on is Jellybean (Android 4.3.x).
Current version: 3.3.0p1
Nightlies (starting 8.28.2013) available for testing. Once issues are re mediated, a release build will be posted.
Pre-Requisites:
1. TWRP or equivalent recovery.
2. S-Off, or thorough understanding of how you work around S-On to get the kernel included in this ROM flashed. FAUX, CM kernels are not compatible and will result in functionality issues if it boots at all.
3. Desire to be helpful in an appropriate manner. Logcats, dmesgs, etc are very helpful, and necessary to assist.
NOTE: HTC ICS based roms - Android 4.0x are the last ROMs that can be considered bug free. AOSP for the Amaze was never released by HTC. Development only exists in this community. There will be nuances and quirks that would not be there with OEM roms. Adjust your expectations accordingly.
Downloads:
http://evervolv.com/devices/ruby
This requires gapps for 4.3, do not use 4.2 gapps.
Code:
Items that need attention: (buggy)
Confirmed: (11.10.2013)
- 1080p recording not working on camcorder.
- Built in tethering broken. TI has not updated their code to match 4.3 Android. Use android-wifi-tether instead - verified its working on mine with this app ==> http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/
- [Dialer Menu Option - Dialpad Settings] visible in menu, but 4.3 builds are absent code to utilize it.
- Audio Echo on calls - not happening to everyone, but some have noted it. It has been an issue for 8660 devices since the first jellybean release to aosp-based ROMs.
- fm radio works, but sadly apps such as SpiritFM no longer work correctly with it. If you find a replacement app, or know of a version that works, give it a shout out.

Want to help?
Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Finding issues, providing logs are a great way to enrich the experience for this ROM and others. Going to the next level, by researching, and providing fix ideas will put you on the road to greater contributions in the future.
The Evervolv Toolbox has a feature introduced in 4.3. Look in system settings, Evervolv Toolbox, under "Debug." It allows you to gather logs and submit them to the team.
You can also submit logs separately in this thread. There are apps in the Playstore that make log collection a snap. Additionally, there is the adb method, which you can look up. After you gather the log file, please upload (copy/paste) to pastebin, and post the link in the forum. It's the easiest method.
FAQ -
1. Q: I'm S-On. How do I know if the kernel flashed correctly?
A: In Device Settings, look for About Phone, and Kernel version. You should see [email protected] somewhere the desciption.
2. Q: I don't get automatic update notices?
A: Additional features in Evervolv were designed to work with TWRP. Make sure you have the latest version.
3. Q: I miss some of the features of CM/Slim/AOKP. Can I get those in Evervolv? A: Just try the Xposed framework, or Gravity Box to add features you miss.

I hope we get that ION kernel soon we all need it badly. I'm also thinking of porting MIUI but I'm bringing my rom(s) too their full potential.

I know that Nick, who's working on it for us has gone thru more than 20 iterations so far, and is still plugging along. Soon I hope.
I reviewed the code yesterday, and I'm excited. We'll have similar kernel code to our sister devices, and that will help a lot for other things like tweaking the kernel, etc. The upside for the Amaze community is substantial.

Hmm... I'll have to load the app up and try it. There is nothing out there really about incompatibilities with 4.3 and dolphin other than java doesn't seem to play well with it on more recent (4.1 and newer) android versions.

So I just installed it from Google play store and cruised to Google.com, then to Xda here without issue.
You should clear the apps cache, and if that doesn't resolve it, clear its data too.

Well damn. It figures that the day Jeepers posts his Evervolv build on XDA, my new Galaxy S4 would arrive in the mail. Now I kinda wish I had stuck around for a bit longer. It looks awesome. Oh well. It's been fun, and I've definitely learned quite a bit from fighting with CM10 and 10.1. Too bad I never got to try Evervolv.
Btw, anyone want to buy an Amaze? It's only been dropped in the sink once! I buried it in rice immediately after and left it there for 3 days, and thankfully everything still works, though it reboots every 5 minutes. Still haven't figured out why (it might just be the old KAIOKEN Rom that I had on it which might be the first one SuperAfnan posted, it was always kinda buggy). It's not network unlocked, but I'm going to call T-Mob up tomorrow to see if they'll unlock it now that I have an S4. It is S-Off and has an unlocked bootloader.
Sorry for threadjacking, I'll go away now. Good luck with the future Amaze development, I'll probably still lurk from time to time.

Couldn't find the edit button for posts. Figured out the issue. Just had to change the option for the home button and change the long press to what I wanted. Good to go! Awesome ROM!!!!
Running smooth as butter! Thank you for this ROM! I've mostly given up on other ROMs for my SPH-L720 because of various bugs that stopped me from enjoying my phone. I've been using CM ROMs, most recently CM12.1, for a long time for it's stability but didn't like the lack of customizability. This ROM is fantastic! Running with stock kernal and no mods. Going to try a different kernal, probably Alucard, Xposed, and maybe a script package and I'll post how they work. Only problem, Play Store won't work as it says it needs background data to be enabled, which it already is. This may be a user problem, but it's not a huge problem. If any fix is known, let me know. Otherwise, I love it!
When I flashed this, half my music went into the unknown artist place, is their a fix or way to get it back to the way it was before?

After a couple of days of use I have a pretty severe battery drainage issue. My phone is in my pocket about 80% of the day. It gets maybe an hour of actual use but before my work day is over (maybe 10-11 hours unplugged) it dies. Battery stats when there was 15% battery remaining show 12% use by phone and 2% by screen with maybe 5% total use by other miscellaneous apps over this time (I don't even make calls really so I have no idea why phone drains it so much). Those numbers aren't really adding up at all. This is the only ROM I have had this issue with. Any ideas? Everything else works fantastically, I'd hate to switch out at this point.
Anyone wondering whether or not to flash this, spare yourself the internal monologue, do yourself a favor, and flash this. Fantastic, and exactly what I was looking for
Just flashed ....running smooth! Thank you so much for your work, awesome ROM!!!

Genesis to the Exodus - post for future reference
Planning on flashing once the dust settles and more people confirm presence of bugs or not. Main concern is battery life vs OD2, hotspot, and GP Movies (another ROM, GPE 5.0.1, broke this app handling copy rights).
EDIT: I clean flashed 6/20/15 and so far no overt bugs. Google Play Movies finally works! ROM has hotspot but I haven't tested. FreedomPop APN fix had to be flashed and now I have service (at least 3G so far). Peel remote required new settings, not import. Recommend for those using GPE Google Play Edition ROM or Stock OD2. Seems fast and stable. Air View, screen splitting, and the Video app's PIP features are the only stock features miss. GPS works quickly with flash from stock GPS lock. Have not tested Bluetooth yet.
Edit 2: Bluetooth works great for me. I use two Bluetooth connections daily in my car. Google Camera app is crashing continuously at least with front facing pictures. Only fix is to restart the phone. Such a bummer go find bugs. This is why I went back to stock last time, might do the same again. Battery life seems slightly better than stock, but some days I disagree with myself. Still getting through the work day as with OD2.
Edit 3: Bluetooth sometimes doesn't work and I have to restart the phone. It will become nonresponsive and turn off. Even if you tap the slider to turn it back on, the ROM reverts to acting as if the phone has no Bluetooth. Waiting for a more stable Exodus to upgrade.
Edit 4: ROM in-app upgraded to 6-28-15. No cellular service even after flashing FreedomPop APN Fix. Wifi works. Camera still crashes with front facing and HDR mode. Restoring to 2-20 backup.
Edit 5: After testing 6-20 for 9 days, I decided to restore stock OD2. My service is so much better on stock. I think Exodus was preferentially choosing LTE and ignoring 3G coverage. My area is too spotty for that. I can get 3G at home with stock and nothing on Exodus. On a long frequented drive with Exodus, I would get LTE for a minute or two then nothing, rarely would 3G turn on. The phone had an incredibly difficult time connecting. This has not been as pervasive with Stock. I also was having trouble with the Google Camera crashing (front facing and HDR) and much trouble with Bluetooth. I enjoyed the ROM and hope to return with a Snapshot Build or M release. Thanks to the developers!
Edit 6: Enjoy the ride fokes - I flashed back to Exodus, this time with 6-30-15 a clean flash. I figured out my coverage issue which will affect FreedomPop-ers. Now I have 3G again! Coverage should be much better. Camera is still wigging out with HDR, but I took one successful front picture with no crash.
Here's how I got 3G back for FreedomPop on Android 5.1:
Manual add a New APN with the following settings:
Name: FreedomPop
APN: n.f6.ispsn
MCC: 310
MNC: 120
APN type: default
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
Then set Preferred network to Global (from LTE Recommended)
I think that is the solution, however I first flashed the APN fix on the first page, then performed the dialer code on page 2 (to change APN settings to global).
Rom seems to be running great for me. No bugs so far that I can see. Been running it about 4 days now. Great battery life for lollipop. Good customization that isn't so overwhelming.
Only thing that I could find that might be a bug, is I can't use the navigation rings without having the navigation bar at the bottom.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
So far so good. The first day my battery life was horrible, but the last couple days have been great. I went ahead and updated to the 6-20 build just now, so we'll see how it goes. I did have bluetooth flake out on me the other day, and after a reboot, it worked fine again. Not sure what happened there. Everything runs super fast and smooth. Loving this ROM!
Only real issue I have found is that Bluetooth will randomly turn off after being connected with a device and then won't turn back on.
I'm on 6/20 build
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Free mobile app
Just flashed 6/22 haven't tried Bluetooth yet. Maybe it wasn't even addressed, I haven't checked github. Seen the new build figured what the hell. Awesome ROM though!
Quick addition. Maybe it's a known issue but HDR isn't working I'm using Google camera.

The camera works but HDR does not work. i forgot to mention that i did check the APN settings in the 6/25 build. there were no presets and when trying to add sprint settings manually they would not save.. so i flashed back on 6/23 and APN's are back. hope this helps some people.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.

This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

Just use banks. Don't get me wrong, I love and support TBO and buy djdarkknight's themes but in the past they've been slow to update their gapps and because they are themed apks they don't update like normal. PA gapps are a total joke since they stopped being updated realistically after kitkat so again, I advice you always use banks. Banks updates the gapps zip frequently and because they aren't themed they update by Google without issue. Also, Banks are very minimal. It has all the core Google frameworks and whatnot with zero bloat yet includes the necessary vendor files for faceunlock (if you've used Santos's gpe you know these need to be manually added.) But, to each his own and it's up to you to decide what to flash.
Also for anyone wondering, this ROM is pretty solid and sweet and I would use it as a daily, but unfortunately my 360 won't connect to hotspot although my tablet and laptop will just like other ROMs (at random) cm works so I'm stuck with it. For real though, if you're lurking and have yet to flash it you're really missing out.

Don't get me wrong, I love and support TBO and buy djdarkknight's themes but in the past they've been slow to update their gapps and because they are themed apks they don't update like normal. Use the volume keys? Lol idk I didn't have that issue when testing. Do you have an issue where contacts load as last name first every time you open them? Even when changing settings.

Got fixed. And no contacts issue for me.
SMS
Running fast and smooth on the old DNA, only thing that seems to be a problem is with SMS- I can get one text message to send, but anything after that fails to send until I reboot or toggle airplane mode off and back on. Any thoughts?

Test builds for DU marshmallow builds are now gonna start rolling out. Won't be long for nightlies/weeklies either.

does everything work on this? and I want to make sure before I flash but the 9.8 says 5.1.1 but the gapps says 6xx
I haven't pushed to official release yet. What DU have over the other marshmallow builds is working data. Facebook is not working out of the box, but delete libsslx.so from the Facebook data folders and it'll work. Bluetooth and some video codecs aren't working yet. I'm working on it though.

Thanks danjull for the reply. I didn't care about Facebook but I think I will wait for bluetooth to work.

I think I got most of it working. I transferred with Bluetooth to another device, took a pic, phoned and texted. Link over at the dirty unicorns g+ community. Expect officials soon.

Official Marshmallow Dirty Unicorns for the Droid DNA is released!
Link in OP.
Data, texting, bluetooth, camera, YouTubes, etc.; Works!
What doesn't work? I dunno, let me know.
If you use facebook, either use a third party app like SlimSocial. Or you could delete or rename the libsslx.so files located in /data/data/com.facebook.katana/lib-xyz/ for the facebook app and /data/data/com.facebook.orca/lib-xyz/ for facebook messenger, and it'll work pretty good.
