Sony Xperia Go - rooted kernel - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello everyone,
I finally managed to make rooted kernel for Xperia Go (ST27i).
I just want to mention, that I have unlocked bootloader and I didn't try is this kernel working with locked bootloader.
Requirements:
stock Sony 6.0.B.3.162 FW
unlocked bootloader
working fastboot
How to Flash:
download the rooted_kernel_ST27i.elf (sendspace.com/file/74xilq)
save it in the folder with fastboot binaries (fastboot.exe files)
power down device
start device in fastboot mode (hold volume up and plug cable)
and use the following commands to flash the kernel:
fastboot flash boot rooted_kernel_ST27i.elf
fastboot reboot
After restart, download and install busybox from market, and update superuser...
Update:
Rooted kernel .184 (without recovery )
It's work for me
Flash last firmware 6.0.B.3.184 using Flashtool
Download attach, and flash the kernel:
fastboot flash boot rooted_kernel_184_ST27i.elf
fastboot reboot
Click to collapse
I can't do this without:
DooMLoRD - I used his files from rooted kernel for Xperia P
Championswimmer - for tips and tool (ANDROID KERNEL KITCHEN 0.2.2)
Bin4ry - for tips
So, thanks to them

big thanks man. i will try it. little question: when will be rooted kernel for 6.0.B.3.184 too?

request fastboot.exe link

Great job driversax, many thanks. Too bad I updated to 184 yesterday. I'll either have to wait for a corresponding kernel or I'll have to find out how to downgrade again.

Hello! Big thnx to Driversax ! Im using 184 and tried this root and it works no need to downgrade!

I test it and this kernel has big baterry drain!

I use this kernel for 3 days, and I don't have problem with battery drain.
But I will check when I get back from vacation (4 days) and also I will try to make new rooted kernel for firmware 184 and maybe recovery

I confirm that you can install it over 184. Two caveats however:
- User data is wiped (I was under the assumption that a kernel flash keeps user data - is this generally not the case or only in this instance?)
- In About phone, the reported build stays at 184, but the phone offers to update over the air to 184 again, and after downloading, installing and rebooting, it complains that installation was unsuccessful. You cannot even remove the notification, it stays permanently in the status bar. I finally got rid of them by disabling the updater – thanks Driversax, finally I have root powers – and rebooting.
Battery life has been normal (or even better than previously) for me (using it less than 24 hours though).

Oh, and one more thing:
Droidwall doesn't work (iptables doesn't seem to be implemented on the Go - apparently not the oply Sony phone with this problem, although Xperia S is reported to have it). This was the prime reason for me to root the phone, so it's quite a bummer. But at least Titanium Backup works, and I can get rid of the bloatware (although, to Sony's credit, there are no overly intrusive or battery-draining apps).

Yes, it works on 184 but it has some bugs. It is better flash it to 162. I made a downgrade and it is good. When will be kernel for 184 may be with recovery I make baterry mod for 184. And for Sola too...

If the post makes little sense, read the various threads about Recovery, Bootloader unlocking and Root. It's all here.

I followed that and got "cannot download boot.img, device needs to be rooted first". Well,if I was rooted i wouldn't be doing that in the first place!?
You're doing something wrong then
You have unlocked BL?
Unlocking the boot loader is the way forward.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
Thanks for the replays, that was the problem. I thought it was unlocked, but actually wasn't. However I rooted, then installed CM 7 beta-nice,but still not ready for primetime. Now the question is what to do to return to stock rom-just flash it via flashtool? And will the root remain?
Clear/Reset Everything and then go through the procedure again (without re-unlocking BL obviously).
Follow the steps this time...
I suggest you use this ftf (Global 2.3.4) as it works perfectly.

Thanks again it worked flawlessly Now,do you know if there is a list or something about which system apps are safe to remove from the stock rom?

Are there still bugs with the doomlord kernel? I need WiFi absolutely, don't have a data plan...
The DoomKernel is to be avoided for now,as the Wifi and vibration are not working, tried it yesterday. I can live without the vibra, but Wifi is a must.

Rooting Xperia S

Good day, XDA. I'd like to ask help with regards to rooting my Xperia S. I have recently bought this and it got shipped with ICS 4.0.4 and build number 6.1.A.0.45 and I updated its build number to 6.1.A.2.45. I have also unlocked its bootloader successfully. Now I'm having problems on how to root this. I've read certain posts regarding ICS rooting and they all state that it has to have 6.1.A.0.45 build number. But I don't know how to rollback to the previous build number. What should I do?? Please help..

Just flash Advanced stock kernel v14 by arakmar via fastboot.

Also, you can never brick your device on LOCKED bootloaders so don't worry

I just did it that way and works like a charm - kernel version in my case is 3.0.8+ , right?!
is the performance really improved as compared to .10 fw
i am currently on .10 fw and camera quality is pathetic..and games like neckbreaker does'nt run properly..which runs very good in devices like samsung s duos..what is the use of buying this "a9 dual core with mali gpu"..
so anyone using .54 fw pls tell me about performance of this version..

What I experience in .54 is that the performance is better, when I was on .10 I need to restart it daily to keep the ram free. For the .54, I can turn on my phone as long as I want. Just that SOMTIMES it can get laggy but after awhile later it goes back to normal, I was very disappointed when it was in .10 if I had to make a call it would be like a pain in the arse. I can still live on in the .54 fw.
Hopefully the next JB update will be better.

Well in that case, you can unlock BL using http://androidflip.com/unlock-xperia-phones-bootloader-without-losing-drm-data-track-id-working/
The above method does not void warranty as you are not officially unlocking on sony mobile website.
I personally find superleggera v6 not so good.
Xperia Ultimate HD is currently best one.
Zelly cream also good but heavy
Both will work with stock kernels

I wouldn't really recommend using Xparts for the Ray in the first place to be honest, it's not really a 'proper' CWM installation and I've read many posts in the past advising against it. Give this CWM zip attachment a try - I used it for well over a year back in the days when I had a locked bootloader. I've had this version of CWM for so long I don't remember the specific xda user that posted it (doomlord maybe?) Anyway, just enable 'usb debugging' and enable 'install unknown apps' on your phone, attach your usb cable and follow the 'readme' instructions in the zip file. It's dead easy to install, it should only take a couple of seconds, and boom! You've now got a proper installation of CWM on your phone.
I'd totally recommed unlocking your bootloader though, I was nervous about doing it for a long time but since I did it I've never looked back. Stay away from the likes of Wotanserver and other outfits like that though, if you want to unlock your phone properly and safely talk to this guy below - he's awesome, seriously.

I doubt they'll do it. My country has a very crappy system about phone carriers

[KERNEL] 7.1.1 [41.2.A.7.8] & [.235] Xperia XZs [G8232 & G8231]

Hey guys, here are the modified rootable kernels for the Xperia XZs [G8232 & G8231] 7.1.1 fw
Kernel G8232 FW 41.2.A.7.8
Kernel G8232 FW 235
Kernel G8231 FW 235
Thanks to tobias.waldvogel for his awesome resources.
Don't forget to flash the recovery. Here's the link
Recovery
Also, recovery can be accessed only through the official way i.e.
Power off >> Press the power key and the volume down key simultaneously >> As soon as the SONY logo appears, release ONLY the power key, don't release the volume down key >> After 20-30 seconds the device will enter recovery mode.
Please copy the flashable SuperSU zip file to the external sd card before entering recovery as the internal memory can't be accessed in recovery.
Any for G8231 ?

Thank you so much, it works perfectly! I'm really pleased.
HI I get stuck on Sony logo when I flash the kernel. I'm guessing it would be due to me being on the US 219 build. Would that be the reason?

So you need to have .235 in order for this to work?
I have .219 and it stays stuck in the Sony logo screen.

thank you for your fast reply!
I have a Hong Kong firmware phone, can i download another country firmware with .235?
At the moment my bootloader is unlocked, and my camera not working properly. I really want to at least
get my camera back working again. a rooted phone is now a secondary objective.

Hello,
now that also in Europe some more FW came out with 41.2.A.7.8: What about the Kernel for G8231?
Or is it possible to use rootkernel for XZs and Nougat 7.1.1 too? Didn't try, i have to admit...
