Original Keyboard Dock not working with Cyanogenmod - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Accessories

Hello all,
I just wanted to share with you, that my Original Samsung Keyboard Dock is not working with Cyanogenmod 9 from the Development Section here.
Does anybody have a solution for this?
Will it ever work with Cyanogenmod?
So far I am very very impressed with Speed and Stability of the latest CM9 Version by locerra.
Hopefully someone can chime in on the Keyboard Dock Situation...
Thanks again all for making such an incredible Community.
Cheers
qwertz

Doesn't work for me too

Did you ever find a solution for this OP?

Thinking of selling it now nad just getting a bluetooth one

Same thing for me on SGT-P7510 on sammobile.com
Swiftkey app is a little compatible with external keyboards.
Something like this : go into the settings of the keyboard swiftkey app, validate the Terms od use choose English (US), define Swiftkey as the default input, and therefore in its parameters, go to Advanced > then choose External Keyboard Layout > English and it's good !
Or save the Samsung Keyboard .apk on ICS Stock ROM and bring the application on CM10. Maybe it could work

This is a known limitation of cyanogenmod.

have you read of any hacks / alternate soft keyboards that can get it to work?
The stock ICS rom is so limiting (and to me seems slow) compared to the JB rom (CM10)

i recall having to enable the dock option in the cm settings for my xoom, perhaps the same is true for the gtab?

in Paranoid rom working of keyboard doc should be fixed. I dont have one to test, unfortunately
here is link to changelog http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1838391

Works with the latest CM10 build too (the modified one recently uploaded):
Should work in the latest "official" rom too.

Hey!
I know it's just a preview but i wanted to know if someone is using the BKC-1B1DEBGXEG with a standard ROM and if it is possible to use the german keyboard layout with it. Or is it an ICS problem? Just trying to get some input before i consider going back to a standard ROM. Thanks!
Fixed, got german keys with the app "German keylayout BT/USB (root)" from Android market.

Thanks.

Stock keyboard from stock ROM already includes T9 and QWERTY both, and I think it should work fine without porting.
I have used keyboards from other ROMs for long time, haven't experienced problems.

2) Black Sony Default Keyboard ENGLISH ONLY OR INTERNATIONAL
(International includes English)
Any solution......????????
Man , CM9.0 for Xperia Mini is the best ROM based on ICS yet , but the keyboard is killing me . I've looked up several posts that have update .zip files for a stock keyboard , but non of them are Alphanumeric Phonepad keyboards , just QWERTY keyboards . If someone could post a link to an update file for CWM with Stock Alphanumeric Phonepad layot keyboard for CM9.0 it would be great !
Anyone? I'm still looking for a T9 keyboard for an Xperia Ray running CM9.
Would this work? I don't want to break anything on my girlfriend's phone...
Thanks

No idea, sorry I only tried it on an Xperia Ray.
I personally think that every android phone rom should have the T9 keyboard as an option, as is less error prone than the qwerty, if you want to message quickly T9 can do it for you (if your dictionary has been accostumed to your personal vocabulary) and that be done geniusly with the physical keyboard, just my two cents.
Can anyone tell me if the stock T9 keyboard works well on CM7? Will it be a T9 keyboard on CM10?
I tried to flash the xperia S keyboard for fxp149 cm10, It work perfectly with wouch, but the hardqware keyboard on sk17i still the default, even after i delete the AOSP keyboard. IS there a workaround to have T9 input with qwerty, like on the official roms?
I succeeded in using Sony Stock Xperia Mini Pro keyboard on CM9, using the Xperia S package as a guideline on which files to pick (on sk17i there are some more dependencies than on Xperia S, but the basic files are just the same), but only for the soft keyboard and T9...it still doesn't enable typing suggestions when using the hardware keyboard.
Maybe the typing suggestions for hardware keyboard are bundled inside some framework jar?
I really miss them too
Hi
I'm kind of a newbie here ... I was just wondering how do I install the zip file once i ve downloaded it?
I neet to connect my xperiau on the pc and then drag the zip file into the root and then do the volume up button to activate the zip file using flash??
i've got a cnm 10 btw
Hello, would it work on CM11?
Try using Touchpal X keyboard as it has a T9 mode and also supports suggestions while using the hardware keyboard.

CM9 & 10 on sk17i vs. other ROM
Now tried both CM9 & 10 on my SK17i and though it's a quite enjoyable experience, I could never get any of the aforementioned keyboard solutions to work. Also, with both CM9 & 10, regardless of performance settings, heavier apps like Skype (and even Dots [a game which isn't that heavy] and Whatsapp) wouldn't work properly, neither with the keyboard or in general when left running in the background -Skype would drop calls all the time and give stuttering audio. And audio in general is incomparable to the stock ROM.
In the end I switched to this ROM ReVolutioN which unfortunately is discontinued in this form (but as I understand keeps going in another ) which works so much better for my XMP and comes with stock t9 keyboards already installed, superb audio quality and LOADS more free ram, giving a way-way-waaay faster and smoother experience than CM9 or 10 (again, on SK17i) -although neither is even close to as customizable as any CM version, at least not in the same way and the menus aren't quite as pleasurable to navigate.
But there are so many other ROMs out there and you hardly just need the one I chose, or any of the other I tried. There's a whole bunch of them that have either stock xperia mdpi keyboards or xperia s already installed, so I suggest to try that (as you also get back T9 in portrait mode, as well as Sym-key, GLOBE-key and Blue-dot-key functionality plus word suggestions for hardware keyboard).
Still... After months of trying, albeit not every day, I finally opted for another ROM and now, after about another month, I feel I should share this info with any and all who experienced the same as I and the others who posted in this thread.
Thanks for your time, hope you found this helpful.

Paranoid & Swiftkey

Hi !
I'm running Paranoid Android for locked Bootloader (here) on my XU and my question is about Swiftkey for this rom.
If I don't use any options, Swiftkey is working fine but when I activate Tablet mode, then the keyboard appears too small...I tried changing the DPI (240, 160 ,120) and the mode (Phone Ui, tablet Ui etc) for this application but it's still not working (keyboard cut, too big)... Do you know how to make Swiftkey work with Tablet mode ?
I would have posted this question directly in Paranoid thread but i can't post in development forums due to my number of post...
Hope you can help !
You may need SwiftKey tablet. There's a different version
Sent from my Jellybean Xperia S
Yeah, that's what i thought but it's not working neither
As if the Swiftkey Tablet wasn't different from Swiftkey version for phones...

[Q] [REQ] AOSP/AOKP 4.2.2 Keyboard for 4.12 ROM (Please bear with me here...)

I know that this looks like it has been asked a dozen times, but I assure you that I have looked high and low and have installed literally 10 or so keyboards trying to compare features.
Here's what I am looking for (if it's possible):
Looking for a port of the keyboard that comes with AOKP 4.2.2 Milestone 1 or later. I know that there are tons of Jellybean keyboards out there and they even have gesture typing, but the one that comes with AOKP has the long press alternate keys exactly where I want them as well as the right selection.
I have tried the Google Keyboard from the Play Store and it doesn't have the long press alternates (aside for a select few that aren't labled).
Does anyone know how I can get this keyboard to work on my Note II? I have even gone so far as to extract it from an AOKP ROM and it loads fine, however the gesture typing does not work (just shows the gesture trail but doesn't type anything)
Is this at all possible? Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

If AOKP is like the other AOSP Roms then the keyboard is the Google keyboard, unless they are using the older AOSP keyboard which is the same thing with a different name. AOKP may just use a different one but I doubt that.
Have you tweaked with the settings in the keyboard once installed to make sure the gesture trail is turned on?
You might get more help in the Themes section seeing how they deal with a lot of keyboards and mods for keyboards.

I tried everything. Gesture trail is turned on. The keyboard version is 4.2.2. Not really sure what else to do. Seems like maybe a lib file is missing or something.

[Q] I want to go back to a GB ROM, but need some ICS/JB features - please advise

Hi all,
I only now use my X10 as my secondary phone - I use it when I go running to track my running stats with the GPS etc, so that if I drop it and break it, it's not a big deal!
For the last few months I've been using this AOSP 4.2.2 ROM on there:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197387
I think this ROM is amazing, but it does have a tendency to slow down to a crawl when I am out and running my Endomondo running app.
So I have decided I want a Gingerbread ROM again, probably Feralabs, but there are some features in ICS/JB that I was wondering if had been ported across?
Specifically, I want to be able to add the custom message to the home screen. I like this feature, as I can put my name and phone number in there in case I do lose the phone and anyone finds it (obviously relying on the fact that they wish to return it to me!!)
Also, I want the WiFi icon in the toolbar to have the activity arrows. In GB ROMs I've used, it's always just a static icon.
Is there any Gingerbread ROM which has a launcher which supports these two functions?
Many thanks for any advice.
Alex
Bump....nothing??
Have both those features on my XPERIA S, but don't know of any XPERIA X10i GB ROM that has those features.... and I've tried a few.
Thanks for the reply
Likewise, I also have those features on the Xperia S, but in JellyBean.
The wifi one sounds silly, but I actually rely on the activity arrows a lot as my wifi plays up so often. Whereas in Gingerbread is just sits there with the icon and you have no idea if data is being sent or received.
The message on the homescreen feature I always use in ICS/JB, it's a shame it appears it cannot be done in GB ROMs.

Not that is can't be done, just that I don't know of any GB ROM that has it.
Check X10 themes and Apps posts, you never know your luck.
