[Q] recovery from htc one x to xperia - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I found a good recovery at the one x forum
Can recovery from other device be used on ours.
Beacause cwm is cwm right so that should work too?

Nope. Two completely different device and structures. Unless you port it.

I tried porting ROMS but not anything else?
How do i get this ported?

Sorry, my knowledge stops there. I think you need to use the source, build the recovery to our device, and set it up with a kernel.
And, btw, what Recovery are you wanting to port/use?

It was a touch recovery without any kernels and it had keyboard input and looked neat.
I will try searching for how to port it i really want it.

Well perhaps this is the non-gingerbread ported NFC. Not that it makes a difference.
i know we got a working nfc enabler already. but has somebody been able to actually use it?? I just want to know for some feed back... back to topic could this mean we are nearing a final ota release?? not that I Care much i dont see me going back to stock rom unless its really stable. As far as the thread, people have been able to get NFC tags working as well as Android Beam. So, I'd say most of the things are working except Google Wallet, which on one part, is the most important use for NFC for a lot of us, but that's AT&T's fault, so...
Thank you DG.. it is appreciated

No,
I'm sure it will be more than possible. They just overclocked the Nexus7 to 1.7+ from 1.3 (actually to 2.0Ghz but it's not entirely stable I think). Once we get kernel source and the devs get a chance to work their magic I'll bet it'll be possible. However, there comes a point when enough is enough...and this little breast is more than capable "as is". To much more is overkill for what a cell phone is needed (used) for.

Most surely not directly as is. There will need to be changes or modifications of some kind in order for things to work correctly. The Nexus 4 doesn't havean external sd so won't have code to read one. Ours will need it. The 4 doesn't have native LTE, so their kernel probably is not set up to control that. I'm no kernel developer so I might be off base here...if so, someone please set the record straight. Thanks in advance.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031261
Well? Are our phones and the Canadian version compatible with each other?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda premium
I'm not an expert (by any stretch), but no... I don't believe we can run this... although it is exciting that CM10 for the E973 has come that far.
I remember reading the comments of a user or a dev much more knowledgeable than I... he said that E973 can run E970 kernels, and E970 can run E973 kernels, but where the E973 has a leg up is that they can run Nexus 4 kernel... or something to that effect. I can't remember who said that and I tried searching for the post but can't find it, sorry.
Nevertheless... we are getting closer day by day, I would assume, and once this phone is running CM10...I'll be hanging up my flashing gloves for at least a year, probably two.
Yeah, we can't run this. The Canadian one can boot Nexus 4 kernels for some reason, hence 4.2, but we can't. It's stupid that all the variants are different.
That sucks I wonder if we will ever get a cm10.1 ROM why do the phones have to be so different.

Does the dump include the modem? We desperately needed the modem to be ported to the international versions (I-9200 and I-9205). HSPA+ signals are very inconsistent and I believe porting the modem from the AT&T version will help us a lot.
