X10 restarts itself in stress (playing games, using opera or gps and maps) - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've search the forum but cant find any useful info how to fix this. I can call, send sms or something but after i've turn something that needs ram or more cpu freq and wait 2 min it reboots. It starts after flashing "Donut HD 2.2.8 Jelly Bean" Rom but before i remember i get freezing on games on other roms. Now im on stock not even rooted and this still happening, my bootloader is unlocked (with flasftool)
FEW QUESTIONS:
1. Do I have to relock bootloader to send phone to the service (will they check the bootloader status?)
2. What is the safest method to relock BL? I really dont wanna play with it couse it can brick phone.
3. Is it hardware problem?
4. Maybe try to flash stock from tft file? Not reparing in pc companion like i always do?
Any help will be appriciated

Its mostly nothing to do with phone... probably ROM is unstable... I would suggest techdevil ROM with doomlords kernel n WiFi fix.. its very light and really good... also I would say try avoiding stress on the phone.. x10 processor is a old one and new games r very demanding....

[Q] Why bootloader?

Hi all,
I saw in the Android development topic that it's possible to unlock the bootloader.
Why would I want to unlock the bootloader? What are the (dis-)advantages?
Greets,
Jarcol
The bootloader in our phone lock us down from pretty much doing anything to.the phone. But when we unlock it we are then able to control the phone ourselves. (theoretically) we are able to do what the hell we want to this phone now. For example unlocking the bootloader simply allows you to flash unsigned/modified .sin files.
Now. This will not happen overnight as there is a lot of things to it mate. What you need to remember is there is hardware to think about and and a hell of a lot more.
Hope this helps!!
Yup, agreed. Main thing is to load custom kernal without load stock kernal. Which mean custom kernal load directly.

Flash DooMLoRDs unlocked kernel and if it doesn't display the white "Sony Ericsson" text upon start-up, then it's unlocked
I've flashed Dooms kernel and now is appearing an android logo with 2 vertical color bars top and bottom.
Does this mean it's successfully unlocked ?
Because during the unlocking it gave some errors cause he couldn't find some files.
Thanks
yes it is unlocked.
but is that doon kernel not the one that causes the phone not to go into deep sleep and has serious battery drain issues?
i think u should go back to the stock kernel or just use the Doom stock kernel. that one has just xrecovery put into it, and nothing else, meaning its practically the same as stock kernel.
shame that the bootloader unlock is coming at a time when all the Devs are moving on/have moved on to other phones. a week now and nothing new to report about for X10.

I followed that and got "cannot download boot.img, device needs to be rooted first". Well,if I was rooted i wouldn't be doing that in the first place!?
You're doing something wrong then
You have unlocked BL?
Unlocking the boot loader is the way forward.

Thanks for the replays, that was the problem. I thought it was unlocked, but actually wasn't. However I rooted, then installed CM 7 beta-nice,but still not ready for primetime. Now the question is what to do to return to stock rom-just flash it via flashtool? And will the root remain?
Clear/Reset Everything and then go through the procedure again (without re-unlocking BL obviously).
Follow the steps this time...
I suggest you use this ftf (Global 2.3.4) as it works perfectly.

The DoomKernel is to be avoided for now,as the Wifi and vibration are not working, tried it yesterday. I can live without the vibra, but Wifi is a must.

Have you searched?
Has told you must root and install cwm.
Without being very rigorous you have, working in locked bootloader:
MIUI
DualCore
Xtream
The first one has a completely new interface. The other 2 are based on original Sony Rom and then tunned for less trash and better performance.
Hope it helps... but search first

Are you sure about this ?
KA SSpeed is based on a tweaked Kernel... and with Locked BL you simply can't flash Kernels.
For the 3 I stated I can confirm they work on locked BL, for KA I wait for some feedback.
I can tell you that KA-rom doesn't work with locked bootloader, isn't designed for stock kernel I guess. I almost bricked my phone but luckily I could run Sony Update Service to restore it. Miui is a good choice for us with locked bootloaders but I personally don't like miui that much.
I'm a bit afraid of trying any more roms until there is a way to unlock the bootloader for us that officially can't. Most good roms need a custom kernel anyways.
But I do wan't something more compact, and with the look of AOSP. Maybe I'll try Xtream or DualCore, if it works well with locked bootloaders that is...

I use KA on locked bootloader and so far no problems. You just need cwm to make it work, and we all know you can install cwm even with stock kernel
Flinux,
With locked bootloader you have to make big sh#t to brick phone.
Unless it specifies on Rom information you have to edit updater-script file to flash into locked boot.
You can try dualcore, has it probably is the most light Rom, personally I use MIUI because it is the most configurable Rom available for xsx and has updates every week. Maybe a bit more heavy in memory... but my phone runs a full day with all roms, so no questions there.
If you need a Rom confirmed in locked bl I can share my modded zip for last miui version.

I said "almost"... but it wasn't a "brick" per say, just a stupid boot loop, and I lost CWM so I couldn't go into recovery to reflash. But as I said, I solved it by reflashing original with SUS. I have used KA-roms before on my Xperia neo, but I didn't get it to work with my Xperia S.
Anyways, I think I will try dualcore, since I don't care much for the sony launcher anyways. It seems like a pretty light and batteryfriendly rom. (too bad dualcore has stopped developing this rom...)
Great... another dev leaving xps...
My Huawei x5 had more devs and more roms available... and no locked bootloaders or flashboot locked modes.
Xps is an amazing phone, but for modding and development.. it sucks
I can't find other explanation...

[HELP] Touchscreen not working-SOLUTION FOUND!!

I recently flashed a CM9 based rom on my Xperia Sola, but after flashing its touchscreen stopped working, don't know why?I tried flashing .54 ftf via flashtool,it installed perfectly but it didn't make touchscreen respond. Then i tried it repairing through SUS but to no avail.Does anybody here know what would've gone wrong because i haven't flashed any custom kernel on it(yep locked bootloader) and i don't think that a rom can damage hardware(i know 'cause i have been porting CM9 based roms on my sola and they worked perfectly without any flaw). Is it the calibration problem or something?Don't know what should i do now.....

Yes the different device ftf may cause touchscreen fault due to driver mismatching/wrong kernel, but i was using Sola's ftf so that is ruled out.Although you are right that something different is corrupting the screen 'cause Xperia Mini had the same problem that was related to some rom flashing.
Or may be,the flashtool doesn't format all the partitions of the phone and there are some hardware files still lurking somewhere in the one of the partition thats causing the problem, but its just my guess.
I thought that only wrong kernel can cause hardware failure, didn't knew that a simple rom flash can do this,so lesson learnt:silly:

Does the touchscreen fault occured after flashing a rom/mod or after a physical damage?
If it is related to some physical damage, the solution won't work and you have to send it to service center.

Lagging when incoming call.

I'm facing a major problem that when someone call me, usually the phone will ring.
But what happening is when i receive a incoming call, it will hang and no ring, just vibrate but the screen is still working..
So i just answer the phone as usual but now is the problem.
As the result that we need to wait for a few second, and now only my phone ring.
So now i have to answer the phone once more time to make the ringtone stop as normal answering the phone which the connection is already establish.
Does anyone else facing the same problem
Or somebody know how to fix this problem
Sorry for my poor grammar:silly:

Could be some software you install maybe.
Original kernel? On some custom kernels I had the phone ring but the phone only comes up a few seconds later, don't have this problem with stock kernel. Ans I cancel vibrate on ring so maybe its related to that too.
